RockPile Athletics, LLC is a CrossFit based gym designed to provide the highest quality training and health services to the city of Buffalo. Our programming is designed to challenge every level of athlete, while also providing longevity in training. We do this in a variety of classes in an environment that is safe, fun, and most of all, rewarding.

One of the most well-rounded coaching staffs I’ve ever worked with. Dynamic programming here has been getting me back to a personal standard I assumed would take much longer. Great facility for both experienced and non-experienced fitness enthusiasts

Hands down a Hyrox gym at heart. My wife and I visited for a day pass during our stay in Buffalo. Great conditioned atmosphere between the equipment, the space, and the people.

Having been sidelined for a little over a year with multiple injuries, once cleared for activity I decided I'd better get professional help in getting back into more movement. Best choice I could have made! My Coach was able to ease me into exercise, take into account my existing physical therapy, adjust movements as needed, and provide guidance on nutrition to help accelerate my healing. I achieved ALL of my goals, including eliminating leftover injury pain, increasing range of motion, getting stronger, trimming down, and having a fantastic and very active family vacation! Thank you RockPile!

I've been to a couple classes now and love it. I feel like an awkward baby deer learning how to workout for the first time (I've always been a cardio queen) but the instructors and owners are very down to earth and happy to help with your form. The classes are as challenging as you make them but the focus on me has been proper form before heavy lifting. I had some misconceived notions about CrossFit but happy I gave this gym a chance because I couldn't have been more wrong.

I’m a 59 year old who joined about 4 months ago and it is one of the best things I could have done for myself! Never really having lifted before, I had some trepidations about joining a CrossFit gym. The owners and coaches quickly put them to rest, not with words, but COACHING! Each and every workout I do they meet me at my level and offer valuable tips and modifications that elevate me to the next level. I’m now able to do more than I thought I could. And, because of the entire team at RockPile, I know I’m going to keep progressing. This is a great gym AND a great community!

Without question the best and most challenging crossfit programming / CrossFit Gym I’ve ever been a part of. Only reason I left was that I missed the members from my other CrossFit gym very much, and CrossFit to me is as much about community as it is about fitness.

I didn’t really know what I was getting into when I first joined a CrossFit gym but let me just say that I now look forward to going to the gym. Everyone there is so welcoming and friendly and it’s definitely an inclusive environment where you feel safe and good no matter what fitness level you are at. They are like a big family and I am so glad I decided to join this CrossFit crew!

I joined this crossfit gym this week and I'm coming on to my 3 rd workout. SO GLAD I found this gym and the people who workout and coach there! I've been into fitness most of my life, but have never attempted crossfit, I'm a super beginner, but I still fit in at rockpile. Coach Lindsy is super great, patient and very knowledgeable and has been a huge help to me! I look forward to working with the other coaches too.

I started going to RockPile athletics in the spring of 2021 and felt comfortable, welcomed, and a part of the community from day 1. The coaching staff are all incredible and pay attention to form while also encouraging you to try to push yourself. I also started the nutrition coaching with Madeline and highly recommend it. She would give me meal ideas and have check ins to see how I was doing. We pin pointed where I needed to focus and she adapted the approach we were taking a couple of times until we found the right one for me. I no longer think about the number on the scale and am experiencing food freedom for the first time in years!

Gym owners, trainers, and members are outstanding and supportive people. All body types and abilities are welcomed and encouraged equally to achieve at all levels of fitness. Lots of "extra" activities outside of gym helps to build and maintain a strong community and bring a HUGE element of fun. The nutrition program is thorough and provides realistic goals coupled with thoughtful explanations of the WHY of nutrition. The nutrition coaches take time to understand each person's motivation as well as their nutrition needs when building and modifying the plan. Tons of support along the way as well as tools to use to maintain fitness. Recommended 100%!!!

Rockpile is so incredible I cannot see myself going to another gym. They offer a variety of classes that make it easy to find the right type of class for you. Their coaches are extremely knowledgeable, genuinely care about your success and will help you get better no matter what your fitness level is.
The part that sets rockpile apart from other gyms is the nutrition programs they offer. I had the pleasure of working with Matt and he did an amazing job at personalizing a nutrition plan to help me reach my goals. As someone who has played the yo-yo game with other nutrition plans/diets and never finding success, Rockpile found something that works perfect for me. I didn't have to make any significant changes to my lifestyle. I had 24/7 access to my nutrition coach through an app that has all of my metrics used to track my nutrition journey. I was given easy recipes, tips and guidance on how to navigate a busy life and still reach my nutritional goals. The best part is they instill a strategy to use so you can be successful in the long term. I am very happy I went forward with their nutrition program and now have the foundation to living a healthy lifestyle.

During my year completing a program at UB, I found RP and it became a community away from home. This being my first time in a CrossFit box, I have to say the instant coaching support and rapid progress from day 1 was exactly what I was looking for to take my already experienced workouts to the next stage. Each workout has a scaled portion which each coach goes over before each class so you can be assured there is something for everyone no matter your fitness level. Warmups are just enough to get you moving and prepared for the days workout and workouts will push you each class. Pricing is very flexible and fair which was greatly appreciated for someone with a busy schedule.
As a guy who was a bit hesitant about CrossFit- Carmen, Matt, and Madeline made the gym and community feel incredibly inclusive for anyone with any type of initial concerns. I will absolutely drop by whenever I'm back in Buffalo.

Rockpile Athletics is the best gym and community of people that I have ever been a part of! Their attention to their individual member's fitness levels, goals, motivations, and coaching preferences are absolutely unmatched and shows how much the entire gym cares about their members.
One of the best parts of Rockpile is that it is not just another Crossfit gym. They also offer HIIT classes, boxing classes, host the best community events, and nutrition coaching. The ability to work one on one with a coach on nutrition has taught me so much and changed my entire approach to both food and fitness, with special attention to helping me identify my personal goals and actually achieving them. I cannot believe how much I have been able to accomplish both in and out of the gym because of how much nutrition coaching has changed my life. I would recommend Rockpile to absolutely anyone because this gym will meet you where you are at and help you get to where you want to go!

Between all the different style classes you can take, their inclusive safe space, amazing and supportive community and their true hands on approach to helping you achieve your goals.. you won’t want to ever leave. A big feature that Rockpile offers is their Nutrition Coaching. I have tried so many different things to help me eat better or “diet” into my dream body and never succeed. The first day working with Coach Matt was such an eye opener to understanding what true healthy eating is and how I can realistically eat to achieve my specific goals. The goal building you do sets you up to succeed with healthy habits that will stick with you forever. No matter what your goal is to get out of nutrition I am confident Rockpile can get you there and you’ll enjoy each step of the way. They find what works for you, use what you like to eat, and they won’t ever let you see something as a failure. Plus if you don’t like to cook/don’t have time/need a quick healthy meal.. they have grab and go meals available from Build Without Guilt that are seriously so good. The convenience of also having an app so I can see my goals, macros and have 24/7 access to asking questions that go straight to my coach are very ideal to keep me accountable and feeling confident. I have relearned what eating healthy means in a more realistic way working with Coach Matt and that has forever changed my approach on food and eating. They give you all the tools needed to succeed, seriously the best place around!

Rockpile has been the gym I’ve been looking for.. forever. Camaraderie, competition if you want it, just simply an amazing workout if you don’t. THE best coaches you could ever ask for. They are relentlessly supportive and are also amazingly tuned into to knowing when there’s room to push you to the best of your ability. Always hyper aware for injury prevention and form. Gym fear/shame is a real thing and I can’t overstate enough how that does not exist at Rockpile. Even walking in on my first day, as intimidating as that can be, I felt so welcomed- by everyone. Matt, Madeline, and Carmen are amazing- their clientele is even better. I’ve managed to get my boyfriend, sister, and two of my best friends to sign up after my relentless raving. This gym is so embedded into my life now- I feel the luckiest. The first class is free... before you go anywhere else, you owe it to yourself to try out Rockpile first. I really, really, really do not think you will regret that.

I'll be honest, I was very weary of trying cross-fit. I've always been intimidated by all of the Olympic lifting, handstands, and pure strength of these athletes (especially the ones in the Cross-fit games - holy smokes!)
But being the person that I am - I gave it a try because why the heck not. I emailed the good folks at Rockpile - and even though I couldn't make a community class (offered 1x a month - free!) they told me that my first session was on the house. Since I didn't have much experience, I tried the RP-Bootcamp class - or as I call it - Cross-fit lite. But do not let the name fool you - it's tough and very challenging, but overall a great workout.
The coaches are super friendly and welcoming. They will work with you no matter your skill level and help you figure out your form :) Plus there may be dogs (behind the front desk) at some point during the week. Since I wasn't familiar with any Cross-fit movements, everything I did for that first class was modified but still very challenging.
I enjoyed my time so much, I am now a member. I truly enjoy waking up and making my way to RockPile :) Thanks for kicking my butt!

Madeline and Matt are great! Friendly and knowledgeable regarding fitness. I feel comfortable going there doing a workout that is out of my "normal" comfort zone, realizing I can do it at my own pace and feeling pretty damn proud of myself at the end. Nice, simple, clean gym with a great mural on the wall.
