So unprofessional , Giovanny or Jiovanny is the most unprofessional person ever . I went because I needed information , I because was looking to joint this facility . The first thing he said “ this is not planet fitness or blink or nysc” . And if I wanted to know the prices I can see it online .

I went there today to learn more about the gym membership and the staff who was in the front desk was not welcoming at all. He answered to my questions in a very rude way. Front desk staff should be more approachable and helpful towards everyone. However, the experience was so bad that it didn't make me want to sign up for this specific location anymore.

I wanted to bring attention to a very uncomfortable experience I had during my recent visit to your gym. It was my first time at this location, and I came in genuinely interested in learning more about joining. However, as soon as I arrived, the front desk staff told me that if I “acted up,” the cops would be called.
This comment was completely uncalled for and felt racially discriminatory. I had done nothing to warrant such a statement, I simply greeted the staff politely and expressed my interest in the gym. Throughout my workout, I also noticed staff members watching me closely, which made me feel singled out and unwelcome.
No one should be made to feel uncomfortable or judged based on their appearance or race, especially in a place that’s supposed to promote health and community. I hope you take this matter seriously and ensure that all guests are treated with respect and fairness moving forward.

Horrible experience working out with my Fiance. The trainers kept bothering us and would not let us work out properly and were very rude.
Stay away from this gym if you want to work out with your significant other.

I couldn't recommend Dimitrios more. He's an outstanding personal trainer and manager. I appreciated his holistic approach to fitness, including nutrition and recovery, and really enjoyed his teaching me a new way of training (more mind-muscle connection for greater efficacy of training, subtle changes in execution that made huge differences etc). He was incrediby knowledgable, friendly and inspirational, and can really make a difference to people's lives!

And here we are, just a few days...
Once again I experienced a COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE issue today that absolutely needs to be addressed. The gym opened a shocking 10 minutes late. Let me be clear: 10 minutes might not sound like much, but for those of us who schedule our workouts with precision – especially when we only have a mere 30-minute window – it's an ENORMOUS, IRRECOVERABLE CHUNK of our precious time. This isn't an isolated incident; the gym was also opened late just a few days ago, leaving many frustrated people waiting.
This repeated delay felt like a blatant theft of opportunity to get a full, proper workout in. When you're desperately trying to fit exercise into an already packed schedule, every single second is critical. I understand that new operations might have "teething problems," but consistent and punctual opening times are not just fundamental; they are ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL to a gym's service, particularly right after opening when members are trying to establish their routines and trust in your operation.
I sincerely hope this utter lack of punctuality is rectified immediately. A reliable schedule is not a luxury; it's a NECESSITY for members who are committed to making the most of their limited time. I'm looking for significant and immediate improvements in this area, as the gym otherwise has great potential that is currently being undermined by this unacceptable tardiness.

I'm writing this review out of significant frustration with the inconsistent opening hours at this Crunch Gym location. The advertised opening time is 5:00 AM, but recently, there have been repeated instances of the gym opening late, or not at all, as was the case this morning (July 25, 2025).
Many members, myself included, were left waiting outside past 5:30 AM, completely disrupting our morning routines and making it impossible to get our workouts in before work. This lack of reliability is a serious issue. We pay for a service that we expect to be consistently available during advertised hours.
These delays are simply unacceptable. I hope management addresses this immediately and ensures the gym opens on time every day going forward. Reliability is key for gym members, and right now, it's severely lacking.

Reasonable prices in my opinion. It was easy for me to cancel the membership when things went downward (divorce, trespasser robbed my home, etc) and exercising wasn’t going to fix those time consuming problems. But when life was simpler, crunch gyms have too many classes to offer. I recommend their HIIT, hot yoga, vinyasa, Pilates, get the all access gym pass and make the most of their sauna, private shower, secure lockers (brought my own lock too), explore everything they have to offer etc…

Came here yesterday 1/9 to try the 3 day pass with my boyfriend. Rude and unwelcoming guy at the front denied my boyfriends free pass because he said that because he used it 4 years ago that he wasn’t able to use it now and that is written in the “fine print”. If you see in the picture attached the email they sent me clearly says you can’t use the 3 day pass if you used the pass in the last 30 days… he came here 4 years ago.
Maybe train your staff better on correct information instead of having them act so rude and condescending :)

I have been a member on and off for over three years. Mario was super helpful today.
Trainers- they are great and just happy in general. I felt and still feel apart of the little community.
Equipment- I understand the high cost of nyc limits the amount of space available. This means there are for example only one dedicated bench press, one incline chest press, and one power rack. I could see replacing the two single use equipment with power racks instead. This will allow more efficient use of the space and will satisfy the desires of more experienced lifters. I would also recommend replacing the extra chest press machines with a much more versatile piece of equipment. Versatility of the equipment makes all the difference. Even moving some of the extra treadmills for one or two more machines will also make a massive impact.
Pricing - guest pass is 30$ a day compared to the one in Florida that is probably 15x the size and quality with a sauna, massage beds, cryo chambers, and three massive studios for 15$. Make changes with the quality and versatility of all the machines and begin handing out free day visits to get people to check it out.
Overall- it is a gym and is good enough for me - I am 18 and a D1 football athlete

I have been coming to this location for years, there have been a lot of people who have worked at the front desk. but one person in particular stands out the most. that person at the front desk her name is Charli. She is always willing to help you with any questions or concerns that you may have. Charli is always smiling and greeting you in the morning and she is always on time and is never ever late to open the gym in the mornings. I hope Charli stays around because there should be more people like her with Positive attitude and energy.

This is one of the smaller Crunch gyms. However it has the cleanest bathroom of all Crunch Gyms I’ve visited in Manhattan. This is also one of the only locations that you don’t need to bring a lock as it’s integrated with the locker. I frequent the 59th street Crunch and that women’s locker room is like a dungeon. I never take showers there. This one I would happily take a shower after a workout.

Mediocre overall. This is a convenient location for us as we’re in the neighborhood, we came a few times on class pass but decided never to come back due to: dirty machines, and, especially, unfriendly staff/creepy staff. Front desk people consistently being creepy with my girlfriend when she’s been on her own, so much so she doesn’t feel comfortable going by herself. Additionally we’re pretty certain we both got ringworm from the machines there.

Currently looking for a gym to join. Saw a sign in front of E66 location and stopped by to ask about a 3-day trial. Got zero information and a lot of attitude. The front desk memeber was very busy having a personal phone conversation and got irritated by me asking questions about the gym. After realizing I had more question he told the person on his personal phone that he will call back later. No information provided, didn't let me see the gym/enter with class pass. The worst experinece ever.

this is the worst crunch in nyc. It’s comically tiny but still gets a huge crowd, and is at peak hours from 4-9 pm straight which is ridiculous. There is one (1) single bench press in the entire gym and zero (0) lat pulldown machines! Every time I come, half the lockers in the locker room aren’t being used but they’re somehow broken. The staff is also rude and unaccommodating. don’t waste your money

Crunch is currently celebrating 25 years of taking money from clients and failing to provide services for them, especially their women members.
When there are 5 women in the entire gym and one of them is working, why are 41 of the lockers in the women’s locker room locked? Another 20 lockers have busted locks or the lock is thrown while the locker is open making it impossible to use. The gym does not provide locker rentals. They also do not adhere to a policy of removing items when people abuse the privilege of using lockers for days on end in perpetuity.
Of course, this includes their female trainers who store their stuff In 1 or more large upper tier lockers on a permanent basis. Gym policy should be that they each get one small locker for their supplies and can use a large lower tier locker while they are working.
Of course it’s no surprise that reasonable policies are neither the norm nor even considered as the management here is abysmal! I think they’ve had more than 5 managers in the last couple years. And the current one is useless. For example, when the air con broke and temps on the gym floor exceeded 80 degrees this week, no one sent an email to members, including single site members, to offer them a workout at another location. When the water goes down (which happens often), there is never any advance notice beyond a small flyer hung on the wall. Where is the email notification. Not everyone uses the gym every day.
It takes over a week to get a drain in the showers cleared. (Walk across the street to Walgreen’s and get a bottle of Drano) Ladies, if you like showering in ankle deep waste water, this is the club for you!! Took over 3 weeks to replace a light bulb over the mirror in the ladies locker room. If you like doing your hair and makeup in the dark, this is the club for you!! If you think 30 women sharing 1 blow dryer for weeks is fun, come to Crunch 66th St. And the reason I say they don’t like women … while there was 1 working blow dryer in the women’s locker room for more than a week, there were 2 in the men’s.
UPDATE: 1 week later. There are 2 women in the gym and 42 lockers in the women’s locker room are locked. Thought there was progress on Monday when all the lockers were opened. Apparently, one grand gesture hasn’t been followed up with actual change. By the way, did you give bonuses to the staff/employees who gave you 5-star reviews??

The place is very packed during the day and there is only one machine for most of the equipment, so you have to wait or adjust your workout. They need to have more cleaning stations too. One of the managers tried to finesse me with with the pricing. I almost never write reviews but this irked me. I tried to ask for a No committment 1 month since I would be traveling for a while and asked the pricing for this location. He gave me a price and said “Just for you, no extra charge I’ll throw in a package that allows access to all gyms” and that this deal expires today which seemed sketchy…
Then I went ahead to check out another crunch location nearby and asked about the membership. That manager was very straightforward and gave me all the options, day/week/month. He also mentioned that there’s a 1 month no committment if I just picked that location but this was cheaper than what the original manager told me.
I was then told that I was given the price for access to all gyms not for that location so this guy tried to act all nice and seem like he was hooking me up with a good deal meanwhile he was trying to get me to pay the highest amount…
Always compare prices with other locations or on the website cause people like this will try to finesse you. I get it’s a sales job but damn I despise those type of ppl who aren’t transparent…

I have had the absolute best experience at Crunch 66th St! I love it so much I actually went from using it on ClassPass to being a member today. As a runner and yogi I needed a little more focused strength training to supplement my existing fitness plan and prevent injury. Crunch has definitely made that possible because of the welcoming environment. Charvez always greets me bright and early with a smile. Ryan gave me a super informative personal training session. Mike is another great trainer and he always encourages me when he sees me at the gym. Regina’s A$$ & ABS class always humbles me. Everyone is always so positive there. A special shout out to Mario, the GM, who was able to secure a sick deal for me. I really can’t speak more highly of this place. One of the worst gyms I have been to. Trying to exercise here was a truly miserable experience. It was so crowded on week nights that I could barely walk around, let alone work out. It's in a dark, cramped basement with very little ventilation so it smelled pretty bad. I never saw anyone cleaning or wiping off the equipment. There weren't enough lockers. The equipment was not good quality, especially the weights and treadmills.
The staff were generally not friendly or helpful. They charged me $25/month just to put my membership on hold, and then they billed me an $93 fee after the staff assured me multiple times that I would not be hit with other charges. The manager was condescending when I explained the situation.
I have cancelled my membership and would never go back here.

Great workout atmosphere in terms of equipments! I used to workout here in the winter (last couple of weeks of January) when I was off from studies and the summer (during the months of July and August)!
Unfortunately, I can't say all the staff were the friendliest (though of course I met some friendly ones), plus the rates were just too high for me, and I will also add that I didn't have the best experience with management as I used to be an employee here, causing me not to want to continue my membership after resigning. If it wasn't for management, I would've still been around, but unfortunately management has been disappointing not just for myself but also from stories I heard from former members.
It's sad though because I had great memories of working out here during my winter summer breaks from studies all before COVID and before I was even an employee. I'm not gonna go into detail of my disappointment in management, but I will state that I wish everything negative I said wasn't true to the bottom of my heart.

Have been going here for a few years and this location has been sufficient to meet my needs as someone who was just generally trying to get in better shape. Over time I have become aware of this location's limitations in the quantity and variety of equipment available especially at peak times (though due to the size of this location this is understandable). However I do tend to attend at off times and therefore my experience here has been pretty good. Place is always clean and have always gotten good vibes from the people who go and work here which is pretty important to me at least since I was always too anxious to go to the gym in the past and getting clowned on Tiktok is one of my greatest fears. This is still the only gym I have enjoyed and feel comfortable in despite having tried several others in the area including Blink, Crunch on 59th, and the basement dungeon at Hunter College.

I was at first unable to retrieve my barcode and the manager refused to allow me entry. He went on to complain how he'd be losing money (even though I never was scanned in to his run down facility). Ultimately I was able to retrieve my code and when I re-entered to scan in he ran back to his desk. Just poor customer service all around.

This location is always very clean so shout out to the cleaning crew for that.
I do like that there’s locks on the lockers which makes it very convenient for anyone who forgets to bring their own lock. I wish they had the option to put our own locks on it though.
The group fitness room is pretty small but I love all the classes I have there. The instructors are really fun and approachable. I love the classes with Alinne, Aimee, Melissa/Melrey; everyone is really great!
My one gripe with this location has to do with the group fitness room and AC (or lack thereof). It can get hot and humid in there esp in crowded classes so they really need to fix or upgrade the AC.

Nice, clean gym with most equipment.
Biggest thing missing is a mirror in front of the squat rack. This is pretty much a standard at any commercial gym and I'm incredibly disappointed this crunch doesn't have it.
Not only does this make for poor workouts but it's an absolute SAFETY hazard. If you can't see what you're doing, you can get injured incredibly easily. Please management, can you help add this? Would uplevel the gym 💯.

Read your contracts. Read your contracts. Read your contracts. This gym disguises itself as a member first gym only to screw you, be entirely inflexible, interpret their agreements to whichever way benefits them first, and you second.
Do not join this gym. Physically, it is the smallest gym in the area. Yet their customer service does not benefit the members they actually get.
I truly can’t say I’ve ever had a pleasant experience with any of the people in charge.
The front desk person will never put you through a manager. Ever. They suggest you email, and then you do. You get a response 24 laters reiterating what the front desk person said. Not a single phone call.
Truly the worst customer service.

I was a member at Equinox, but since Crunch is closest to where I am right now, I have decided to give it a try. I got registered online and my first experience was the worst possible. I got there early and none could find my membership, and I had everything settled. Well, I used a free pass that day, despite of being an active member. Second experience, finally I could use it as a member, well the place is not following recommendations for COVID, I am vaccinated (I got the third dose recently as I am a health professional) but none ever asked to see my card. Also, the cleaning products are not enough for the entire gym, things are pretty dirty and there is little maintenance. The bathroom was out of towels. As a conclusion, this was my last day there, I am going back to Equinox. Not to mention the terrible customer service, it is a sad experience. Very upset for going over this.

Not a great first experience here. Signed up for gym time through ClassPass. People at the front desk were super short and unhelpful and roped me into doing a sales pitch for membership even though I said I didn't want to. Facilities are small, there's no sauna, and guests have to ask for WiFi password because there's no service underground. Much much worse gym than E 59th St

Good price for nyc and good location with well taken care equipment, the only problem is the size as you’d expect. I wish they had more cable machines. Overall good for the area and nice staff.

Smaller than many of the other NYC crunch locations and is missing a few features like multiple benches and cable crosses but it's quieter and typically has less of a crowd.

One of the smallest Crunch locations, therefore choice of equipment is pretty limited. Everything else is just great.

Been a Crunch member for a year now. I've tried and love a bunch of their Manhattan locations, but 66th really takes the cake for being the worst location/gym I've ever been to. The facility itself is good quality. It's on the smaller side, but the quality of equipment is great for what they have and the pricing is fair. The demeanor of the staff here is insane. These people are for sure paid to have bad attitudes and to be rude to customers. The current GM, Archie or whatever, is one of the most terrible people I've ever met LOL. I had 2 simple questions and the way he responded/talked down at me felt like a fever dream. The pre-covid GM Italo was much nicer. Guess they had to downgrade

I canceled my membership because I feel it’s extremely unsafe to do a workout in a basement that’s not properly ventilated during a pandemic. however, a few months after they resumed charging my account for a few months and they refuse to give me my money back a complete rip-off. The bottom line: when you join this gym just know that when it’s time to break your membership it will cost you.

Kyla Peak and Alexis Rohlsen have the worst customer service I have seen in ANY industry, including the DMV. Unresponsive, rude and threatening. Gym is in terrible disarray and management is clueless.

Gym is too small, and with COVID this seems worse. I don’t see how you’re supposed to distance if the gym is this packed with people. Then you have personal trainers and their clients during peak hours which makes this even worse. Not enough equipment, I cant really consider this a full gym. Go a few more blocks for the larger Crunch if you can.

Gym is clean. However, it is lacking in a lot of equipment that comes standard in other gyms. So for the bare basics this is great. It’s like a Crunch Lite to put it.

Clean, has everything you would need - free weights, barbells, cardio machines, etc. A little on the small side but that's never seemed to be an issue.

It may be the smallest Crunch in the country but it does the job, the equipment is brand new and not so crowded. If you are a clean freak this is the gym for you. Kudos to the cleaning crew!!

Standing here in front of a locked door 20 minutes after the gym is supposed to be open. It’s locked and there’s nobody in there. If you have to get to work or catch a plane in the morning, don’t count on this gym to open on time. A guy waiting with me tells me last winter they opened a full hour late. Find a more reliable gym.
Update: I had to catch an Uber right in front of the gym two hours after it was supposed to be open and it still wasn't open. So, if this is the kind of unreliable service you enjoy for the high price you pay to be a member, this is the gym for you. To the owner: it's not "frustrating", it's pure nonsense to take your customers' money and waste so much of their time. Opening a few minutes late is frustrating. More than two hours late is something else.

The Crunch Fitness- 66th Street location is a very well maintained gym and always sparkling clean. The machines are always in operable condition, the air conditioning is set at a perfect temperature (66-degrees) and their music playlist is on-point.
Additionally, there always is a bathroom attendant constantly wiping things down and maintaining a very high level of cleanliness. Towels are provided, in addition to high quality soap in the bathroom.
Highly recommend this location if you are seeking a classy workout environment without the Equinox prices.

Sadly, with the change in scheduling classes at this gym, and being one of a few with anti-gravity yoga they removed all day classes and left just one evening class - not very user/neighborhood friendly for people who work from home , are older or have kids! Ugh!

This Crunch location is fine for cardio machines and perhaps for classes for those who are so inclined. For those who train seriously with weights and/or machines it is an inadequately equipped basement gym. I have seen apartment building gyms that are better equipped. There are several young, inexperienced personal trainers who ae soliciting prospective clients out on the limited floor space. Crunch should rebrand this location as a "Crunch Express" and charge lower monthly dues for this location, which is not a full-service gym.

I have an "All Crunch" membership so I have visited many of them. This is hands down the nicest. I wanted to try AntiGravity Yoga so I came here. It was no problem to sign up. The staff is helpful, you do not need a lock for the locker, they have built in locks. The whole place was very clean.
