My daughter wanted to try dance and coming from no dance experience myself, we chose to begin her dancing journey at DMDA. My daughter has been dancing here for three years now, and will continue. I couldn't be happier with the class environment and opportunities offered at DMDA! The studio director gets back to emails and phone calls in a timely fashion, and the dance instructors make sure the children feel welcomed and loved. Our experience with the Dyan Mulvey Dance Academy has been nothing short of incredible! It’s not just a place to dance—it’s a legacy. Generations of dancers from our family have danced here, and it’s wonderful to see that same passion passed down year after year.

The studio is exceptionally well-organized and transparent in every aspect, from scheduling and communication to performances. They go above and beyond to make sure families are supported.

We love this dance academy , it really has become part of the family , I danced for Dyan when I was young and my siblings and now my children dance for them and all my sisters children for years . I cannot say enough good things about Dyan Mulvey Dance Academy! From the moment you walked in, you are welcomed with warmth and energy. The instructors are incredibly skilled, passionate, and truly care about their students' growth. We love this Studio it in my opinion is a staple in the community of Lockport. My daughter has been dancing with this studio since she was 4 and this is her 12 year. The teachers/ staff/ helpers are all amazing and they put on a recital each year that is like a Broadway show. If you want a studio where your child can learn to dance and be part of a community and make life long friends this is the studio for you. If your an adult and want to dance and make some really great friends this is also the studio for you I started dancing 3 years ago and it was the best decision I made as it is not just a studio it is a family. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

What an asset DMDA is to the community of Lockport. This dance studio goes above and beyond for their students and the city that they reside in, ( it may seem biased but i get a background glimpse at all the hard work that goes into everything that they do) and it shows. Dyan Mulvey Dance Academy is the best of the best. The teachers are amazing and will treat you like family. The recitals are fantastic, you feel like you are watching a Broadway production! As a child I danced at DMDA for 15 years and my daughter has been dancing with Dyan for 14 years! My daughter has been dancing at the studio for 10 years (I think). When we first started her in dance, I had no idea what to expect when we signed her up. I can honestly say that having her join DMDA was one of the best decisions ever. Every class has/had an attentive and caring teacher and helper in the class. Now that my daughter is older, she was a helper and she loved it.

Miss Dyan, Miss Chaelyn, Miss Maureen, Miss Maddie and the rest of the teachers have been amazing from day 1. They have encouraged all of the dancers and taught them to be polite, kind and encouraging of others in the class.

One of my favorite things about the studio is that during the dance recital your child will be front and center on stage at some point of their routine no matter what their skill level. DMDA wants your child to be seen and enjoy the spotlight and allows the parents and loved ones to take pictures and see the smiling faces of the dancer.

I cannot recommend DMDA enough. My daughter is there 5-6 days a week and as a teenager there are so many other things she could be doing or just sitting at home doing nothing but she loves going to dance and going into the studio. I am a proud DMDA dance dad and love this studio for all the dance and life lessons that they have taught my daughter so far and I can't wait for the future there as well.

PS - I hear the adult dance classes are like weekly therapy sessions if you're looking for something fun to do with other adult dancers.

Amazing teachers and staff who allow us at any age to continue our love for the stage. We love our dance family and are so grateful at the steps they have taken to allow us to have some kind of normal during this craziness. Monday night therapy for us Mamas and an escape for my daughter from remote learning have made the difference in our mindset the last few months.
