I received a promotion for a free month from Crystal for the rest of October (a few days) and the month of November but she only answered my follow up questions Oct 31 at 7:30pm EST and said the promotion ends in a few hours. But she only gave me the full info right before their deadline. She refused to honor the promotion for the month of November which was very disappointing to say the least. I spent the weekend waiting for her to get back to me but wasn't able to get a hold of her until their promo deadline passed.
I was surprised by this negative service overall.

Hands down, the best gym experience Iβve ever had! The membership advisors, trainers and staff are incredibly welcoming and helpful, making sure you feel right at home from day one. My trainer, Brennen, was absolutely fantasticβhis knowledge and motivation helped me gain muscle, lose weight, and actually enjoy the process. Every session was challenging but fun, and I always left feeling stronger and more confident thanks to him. If youβre looking for a gym that truly supports your fitness journey, this is the place to be :)

I got injured at Michaela McGowanβs spinning class due to her negligence on how to use the bike properly. She gave zero instructions on the equipment prior to the class and rushed me out of the room after my injury. The gym manager Jill has been helpful but the instructor Michaela has taken absolutely zero responsibility in addressing the issue, not even an apology - definitely not the experience anyone would have wanted.

This location will screw you by trying to offer you a month of free membership and then roping you into a full year. Incredibly predatory and I will never patronize Equinox again.

Used this gym since moving to the area in 2022. Trainers and staff are wonderful, very friendly, always happy to chat and make me feel welcome but unfortunately management spoils it.
I would visit during off-peak hours specifically to use the weightlifting platform 3 times a week for almost 2 years. Recently the gym removed a row of cardio machines to create more space for gym equipment and also removed the weightlifting platform, when asked if the platform was being replaced or returned management said there "isn't room for the platform" despite the cardio machines being removed to make more space on the gym floor.
I train and compete in weightlifting so don't require much equipment but the response from management after the removal of equipment that my two years of membership could replace two+ times over was abysmal.
Comically enough when the platform was removed trainers and staff reached out to me as a member to let me know because they cared more about the gym users than management.
It's a shame because I loved the community at Equinox and as someone who works from home that is really important but I have had to go elsewhere, fortunately there's a new gym across the street, recently opened, that has four weightlifting platforms.
It is disappointing how management treats their members who have been using the gym for two years and the choices management make.
This review is in no way representative of the coaches, my time at Gramercy Equinox meant I crossed paths with some phenomenal people and fitness professionals; Brennan, Ricardo, Alessandra, Tuesday, Mikka, Ana, Shahida, Carlos, Jamal, both Omars, Brian, Jenny, and Will.

the gym is pretty good - not too crowded if you go off peak and they pretty much have everything you could want/need. i used to think it was overpriced but then started taking classes and that makes the monthly membership worth it.
lydia dallas got me really into pilates and was just a pleasure to work with and talk to while keeping me completely at ease despite profuse sweating and a pitiful lack of flexibility.
ugo and ahmad teach the most kickass boxing classes - love ugo for technique and combinations but ahmad's class will absolutely kick your ass and he'll do it with a smile and the best energy ever.
used to kind of just take it on the chin and pay a premium for the gym closest to me with bearable crowds, but i really did end up loving it once taking classes with these three.

This was one of the few equinox gyms in the city with 4 bench press benches. Evenings were already packed to the gills with the post-work crowd, but for some reason they decided to remove one of the bench press, and now the wait and crowds is even worse. Not sure what their thinking was...

Clean gym, well maintained, great staff, so professional and friendly!
However very very disappointing they which out all Kiehls products to cheaper band of products that don't come close to the profomance of Kiehls products. Ugh! They smell yucky, too.. so now I have to bring my own products.
I tried the new products again.. they totally dry out your skin.. the facial wash gives me beard dandruff, which I never had before until using a product. That's how bad it is. Ugh!!
But great job on repainting.. maintenance and spotless cleaning!! Love that...

Damon was an amazing massage therapist. Would 100% recommend him!!! He was really great to talk to and helped address everything I wanted done.
I donβt have any insights on the gym itself though the staff was nice but it was super busy around 6p.

I'm starting to love it!
Actually, I want to add that I've had an amazing experience at Equinox. Ruby was amazing when I first signed up. She showed me around and matched me to the most amazing trainer, Brennen. I'm pretty sure I'm enjoying Gramercy because of him. He crafted the perfect routine for me. After only two months, I see noticeable results.

I signed up and made and confirmed appt with one of the workers, who asked me to come in earlier and I did. When I showed up, they were confused as he wasn't even working that day. I waited 20mins for someone else to show me around, and def is small, not that clean and just was not impressed. I did not sign up and chose the Nomad location which I had a completely opposite and much better experience.

Honestly, I like the gym overall but there are a few issues I have with it. First, the hours. For $250 a month I should be able to work out whenever I want (or at least past 7 on a Sunday)
The second problem is that it gets SUPER packed. Why not get rid of the coffee table and couches that no one uses and put in a few more benches? Seriously, thereβs like 6 dumbbell benches in the whole gym, and only 2 lat pull-down machines. Also, thereβs a ton of treadmills but a few of them seem perpetually broken or unplugged, which is frustrating.
That said, I like the class variety, steam room, and kiehls products. The class instructors are generally very friendly and knowledgeable. I just wish I didnβt have to wait 15 minutes for a bench every time I want to lift after work.

Equinox cancelled my account without a call or email when I switched employers. After YEARS of membership, they tried to force me into a new $290 rate instead of the $260 I had signed up at. I have always been an equinox evangelist and they basically said βwe donβt care. best wishes.β Cancelled my membership and will go elsewhere. Terrible customer service from start to finish.

This equinox is one of the more luxurious of the clubs in nyc. The design from the lobby, stairs, locker room and workout floor is super sleek. It's also probably one of the biggest ones- there's two floors full of equipment.
I was disappointed however that they didn't have the foot rest used for single leg split squats. Every other equinox has them and it's a vital part of my leg day routine. If they add one or two of those, this would definitely be one of the most perfect and complete gyms.

Itβs a good location with a decent amount of equipment, but it is always absolutely packed. Workouts take twice as long at the most popular times (good luck getting a bench at 6pm). With the amount you pay as a member, there should really be extended hours to alleviate this overcrowding.

Good location. Very close to the train station.
Maintenance and front desk go up and beyond in making sure the gyms runs smoothly. If you go, there make sure to thank maintenance. They work really hard to keep the gym clean and equipment functioning. It also has a variety of gym equipment and group fitness classes (pre-pandemic)

The most miserable experience I've ever had at a gym. My wife and I have been members of this Equinox for almost a year now. Having known for some time that we weren't going to renew, we notified the club months in advance so as not to receive any surprise charges at the end (apparently that wasn't enough).
Despite countless emails and attempts to get in touch with Cecilia, the assistant manager, i had an extremely difficult time getting in contact with her. When I was finally able to find her at the gym, the conversation that proceeded was incredibly irrational and condescending. I was told that because only "I" (the account holder and person that pays for both accounts) had contacted her from my personal email and not my wife's email, only mine would be cancelled and my wife's would be subject to renewing for another 45 days! Are you joking??....I've been telling you guys for months about this and I'm not cancelling anything....simply not renewing my plan. For a gym that prides itself on customer service and being "high end," the least you could do is not take several days to answer an email and then try to nab us on a technicality. When I asked if I could speak to the regional manager about this she told me it wasn't necessary, but as I insisted, she said they'll email me back at their "convenience." She then told me she'd see what she could do....as if she was doing us an epic favor....but then proceeded to charge my credit card 5 min. after my wife emailed her, despite my wife saying that she did not approve of the charges. Wow! How kind of you. Good luck if you ever plan on not renewing your membership here

I've been an Equinox member since 2009 and have tried out several of their gyms. I really like this location, and it just happens to be a block away from my apartment. It has everything I need, and can usually get to the equipment I'm looking for without having to wait (I avoid the extremely busy hours). The classes are great and the staff is friendly and helpful. The layout might seem strange to some but the open space makes sense for my exercises. Would recommend this location, and Equinox in general.

Despite the beautiful finishes this Equinox has a very odd layout. The machines are always sticky no matter how hard the cleaning crew works... This is unfortunate because I've never seen a harder working group of maintenance people. The instructor are 50/50. Some are amazing and others mediocre on their best days.

Beautiful, new gym. Unfortunately Iβm not a member anymore because Iβm a student and canβt afford paying so much for the gym but I was a member for a year and tried many different locations including some in San Francisco and Miami Beach. This location is one of my favorites. Everything is new and clean. They have lots of machines and space. Definitely will come back there, itβs also across the street from my school, I go to Baruch College. I really hope this place will stay the same and will not change as it happened to some other locations, judging from other clubsβ reviews.

Unbelievably BAD! I came with my girlfriend with the idea to work out with her. We started to work out together and after 2 minutes, a employee came, telling us to stop it right now because we were not allowed to train together. He told me that I couldn't give tips/advices on how to do and how to use the machines. For that, she should PAY a trainer. I went to many club in NYC, and worldwide also and this is the FIRST TIME I had this experience. WORSE CLUB EVER! PLEASE DON"T GO!
