One of the nicest Equinox in NYC with a striking canopied entrance, elevated fitness studios, and clean-cut usuals.

It was a great experience. Employees always cleaning the area's and for me that's very important. My friend invited me, she's a member. We took a yoga class, used the sauna room. Highly recommend. Thank you.

Cant say enough good things about Kunal @ Equinox High Line. He goes above and beyond and puts his clients first - and never made me feel like the transaction was more important than the person. He's responsive to emails, always there to help if needed - he single handedly revived my feelings about Equinox as a brand. RE the gym itself: I really like this facility. It's a great, no nonsense gym. If you want the scene, this is not the place for you. All the premium equipment you'd expect from an Equinox, without any of the nonsense. This gym stays more quiet than other ones, which I like. Hardly ever a wait for a bench, or piece of equipment. Everyone seems focused on the workout. Facilities are always clean and premium. Would recommend.

Ridiculously overcrowded, there are 3 squat racks in the entire gym for 200+ people at any time. I consistently find myself waiting 20 plus minutes every workout for either 1 of 3 racks to open or 1 of 2 flat benches. Save yourself the time and walk to greenwhich equinox. I wish I could get my money back for waiting 20 minutes to workout in a basementβ¦..

Whoever is working the desk today, July 12 at 3:49 pm refused to help me look for the Pilates mat that I left at this club a couple days ago. He repeatedly told me I could come look for it myself. He said he was the only one βat the deskβ and offered no solution. I asked him if anyone else could look and he said again I can look for it myself. As I pay over $300 per month for this membership to be able to go to several locations, I feel that as a βConsiergeβ best of the best club, someone should happily take the time to look for something that a client left before I make a trip out there. I donβt always go to that location. He could have offered to call me back and not even done it - but the attitude is clearly lacking any desire to be helpful. Iβve noticed this lazy attitude at other locations too from the staff, not the instructors. Several times Iβve walked into a new club when Iβm in that area to be met with an annoyed stare of βwhy are you looking at meβ when the employees are on the clock.

Absolute dump of a gym. The equipment is cheap and the staff are rude. One fat shamed me. Went to another location and I was fat shamed there again by staff. Unbelievably unprofessional. I also witnessed an elderly patron harassing a female patron. The staff didn't care and kicked me out for bringing it up. Said he was a judge and could do whatever he wants. Unreal ..

Extremely disappointed. The AC has not been working for over 2 weeks now. Asked several times about it. They keep saying "we are looking into it" etc. I am sorry, but paying the hefty monthly membership fee to workout at a gym without AC is unacceptable. This is supposed to be "High-end".
Additionally. The hours of operation are the most ridiculous thing I have seen. Weekends closes at 7PM? Wow

Unacceptable Equinox experience. There were no benches, aging equipment and no towels to be found for more than a half hour. The front desk staff did not seem to care, considering many others in the locker room were complaining. The brand has gone downhill in recent years, clearly cutting corners to cut costs and of course raise prices. Will be considering cancelling until issues are resolved and implore others to think about the same. The beauty of NYC is that there is always another, often better, alternative to most things.

aka the cardio equipment museum. The Precor ellipticals and Life treadmills here are very dated vs. other clubs. Another below grade location, but this one has bad ventilation and feels dank. At least the weight equipment is current with other clubs. Do yourself a favor and skip this place and head to Greenwich or Flatiron.

It is less well equipped than the Blink gym in Chelsea, which is one-tenth the price. Similar to Blink, the weight room is downstairs in a dark basement with no windows. The main difference between this Equinox and Blink is the color scheme. The locker room is not well ventilated so it always smells bad when you walk to the showers. Juice Press is often closed when it is supposed to be open, and always slow.

Iβm a destination member. Usually go to hudson yard location but tried this location one time. A personal trainer is having session with a member, using one very popular machine AND a bench AND bunch of dumbbells at the same time, for 17 mins, not sharing. AND not putting back the weights they used. AND not wiping down the equipment at all.
Wonder if Equinox trains their trainers?

I LIKE EQUINOX GYM, BUT WHAT I APPRECIATE ABOUT THE GYM ARE THE PEOPLE, THE GENTLE MAN THAT GAVE MY NEPHEW AND I THE FACILITY TOUR NAME WAS JASON AND HE MADE US FEEL AT HOME GREAT PERSON, GREAT GUY , I FELT VERY WELCOME AT THE GYM, THE FACILITY ITSELF WAS VERY NICE AND THEY HAVE TOP OF THE LINE EQUIPMENT, MY ONLY OPINION ON THE GYM IS THAT I LOVE LIFE AND THE LITTLE THINGS ABOUT IT THAT PEOPLE SOME TIMES DONT APPRECIATE, SUCH AS THE FITNESS PART OF THE GYM IS IN THE BASEMENT WHERE THERE IS NO NATURAL LIGHT, AND NATURAL LIGHT ALSO CREATES A SOURCE OF SERENITY AND PEACE AS WELL AS AMBIANCE, OTHER THEN THAT AMAZING GYM ,GREAT PEOPLE... STOP IN FOR A TOUR NEXT TIME YOU ARE AROUND

Scott DeRue, President of Equinox intervened and my issues are finally solved. Get ALL promises in writing and always escalate to Scott (Don't take no for an answer, get to him) NO ONE else has empowerment in management when they go astray. I wasted 7 weeks with unresponsive and rude Regional/Middle management. Scott will gladly intervene and make good on this amazing brand. He is a welcome and needed addition to Equinox. The best brand in fitness, but you must stick up for yourselves. The Concierge Service is a joke - skip it

I've been a member of a few other Equinox's and had good experiences. This location is a mess and falls far short of the brand's reputation.
For a year, zero of the four rowing machines were in working condition. The manager at the beginning of the year was dismissive until he was (presumably) fired, the new manager wasn't sure how to get them repaired and eventually gave up.
This wasn't abnormal, machines are often broken for months at a time. There are sometimes 20 minute waits to use weight machines and dumbbells / benches.
When I moved, I tried to cancel my membership and it was a months long process involving multiple forms of written proof of my change in address delivered in person.

Total scam. The sales representative misinformed me regarding cancellation terms to get me to sign on.
I told my sales rep I was thinking about a move from Manhattan to BK, where a membership might not be convenient. He said I'd be able to cancel if I moved no problem. Turns out you have to move 25 miles away from an Equinox to cancel. Now I'm stuck with 7 months of a membership that I won't be able to use ($1.5k +). I was a happy Equinox member/customer for years before coming to the Highline location. Don't do it!!

Ok, so as a disclaimer, I'm posting these reviews for my reference. I have an All Access Membership, and I want to visit as many of these as I can, to see which one I like most/would like to go to.
My interests are powerlifting, Olympic weightlifting, swimming, so my review will be geared towards that.
This gym is huge, in a great location, has plenty of great amenities. Three floors, the bottom floor is for lifting and cardio, the ground floor is for a Juice Press, the Shop, and the lobby, the 1st floor is for classes: yoga, and pilates. My interest is in the bottom floor, it is huge, with a lot of cardio machines, a nice stretching area (not too big, but adequate with plenty of foam rollers and bands), a nice open space for deadlifting. It has two benches, I believe, two squat racks. This was definitely a nice visit.

This is a really big location of Equinox with lots of equipment. They have lots of neon signs that make the gym floor feel kindof festive; near the locker room and near the stretching area. The locker room doesn't have locks; so you need to bring your own. It also is super busy so sometimes hard to get a machine or a spot on the floor. Overall though, nice gym and friendly staff. Lots of stairs though with no elevators; if you are having a rough leg day; may want to pick a different location!

I have the all access membership so I decided to take a class at the Highline location. First, the lockers have no lock, bring your own. I dislike this because most locations include locks. Second, mainly everything is in the lower level. Everything seems disorganized and cluttered up. No real layout. The staff is friendly. Juice press on sight. Yoga/Pilates studio is the only thing on the second floor. First floor has the cycle studio & coat check. Lower level is ...the mess. Don't think I'll come to this location again.

Equinox Highline is a great gym and everything is very clean! The cleaning crew is constantly making sure everything is up to par and it's incredible.
Staff is always friendly for check-in, as are the instructors of their fitness classes!
Some of my favorite classes include: MetCon3, the Cut (with Abbey), Ab Lab and of course the yoga & cycling classes!
Recommend this gym!

Itβs a super clean location, their end of night rituals are obnoxious. They started cleaning tonight 90 minutes before closing, running the vacuum around, in places where people are working out. Then the steam room closed at 9:20, 25 minutes before it was supposed to. I can only workout late at night and itβs tough to focus or have an enjoyable experience when they push you out the door well before they close.

I've been a member at this location for nearly 2 years but I'm about to cancel my membership. The venue is rather nice, despite its unglamorous setup (the main room is located in a windowless basement). It is clean and well maintained. The problem is that about 2 weeks ago they decided to play their music super loud (to the extent that you can't hear music in your own headphones). It's super unpleasant and tiring - more of a bad nightclub than top end health club experience. I talk to the front desk staff about but they keep ignoring me. Time to find a new gym I suppose.

Friendly staff. Locker room and pool clean (only areas I use). Very often there is no certified lifeguard on duty. The administration requires trainers to sit in the lifeguard chair but their eyes are focused on their mobile devices rather than the swimmers! One presumes (hopes) that the trainers know CPR so this is an improvement over the old days when housekeepers were forced to sit in the lifeguard chair. No amount of complaining has led to any lasting resolution of this unfortunate situation that has continued for years. This review is for Equinox on west. 12street, not Highline as stated in heading?

I have been to a lot of Equinoxes around the country in Miami, LA, Chicago, Boston and many in NYC. This is by far my least favorite though. The facility seems beautiful from the street, but the main workout room is in the basement, its dark, CRAMPED and usually so stuffy/hot you start sweating before you even workout.
On peak hours, this gym is so crowded its pretty useless. The limited amount of space to even find a spot to stretch is a serious problem. On top of that, the training staff is not friendly at all. They seem to literally get in the way and could care less about apologizing about it. They even horde equipment.
