Extremely disappointed with Equinox. For the amount they charge, the experience should be exceptional...but it’s far from it. The staff, especially at the front desk, are surprisingly rude and act like they’re doing you a favor just by acknowledging you. There’s a real lack of professionalism and basic courtesy. The “luxury” image completely falls apart once you see how little they care about members.
Equipment is fine, but the overall vibe is pretentious and unwelcoming. Save your money, there are plenty of other gyms that treat people with more respect.

Visited as my sister’s guest. Can’t imagine actually paying full price for this location. Incredibly crowded on weekend mornings. Full of NOT fit entitled dudes hogging machines and benches for hours while scrolling and texting. Don’t understand why they even bother coming to the gym and imho there should at least be a sign or something limiting people to 30mins per bench/machine.

I was used to dealing with some level of disrespect from the reception staff, but today things took a turn for the worse with outright rudeness. When I arrived, I noticed three staff members chatting among themselves, openly ignoring my presence and not bothering to greet me. To make matters worse, I overheard one of them cracking an inappropriate joke at my expense. This was a pretty uncomfortable experience. When I decided to “commit to something” a few months back, I didn’t expect to be met with such dismissiveness. Equinox, you can do better. 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

hate this club. I rarely come to this one because it's the worst equinox I've ever been to. The only thing I liked about it was their locker room and steam room, but now I don't even like that.. Last time I was there was this Saturday. I just wanted to steam and shower, ya know, end my night on a peaceful note. however, left feeling traumatized. I leave the steam room and am in the shower, and a creepy maintenance guy busts open my door and stares at me, smiling, and I had to basically curse him out to close the door bc why are you just holding the door open and smiling as i'm showering?!!! I told management about this days ago, and they said they were going to do an "investigation." I haven't heard anything. Hardly a sorry...

Best staff out of all nyc equinoxes I’ve interacted with. Caleb, Kennedy, Jahir, Lucy, and TJ are the best! Trainers Jackie, Connor, and Justin are my go to. Great instructors and very clean restrooms/shower spaces.

Gym is well maintained and kept clean, the staff is what makes this place special. However, many amenities and perks that should be included with a membership come with extra fees.

The experience I had here was completely unacceptable due to the front desk staff’s discriminatory and disrespectful behavior. It was evident that I was treated differently based on my race, with a clear lack of courtesy and fairness compared to how other customers were handled. Being subjected to such racial bias in a professional setting is not only offensive, but deeply disappointing.
This kind of behavior reflects a serious issue in staff training and management oversight. No one should ever feel unwelcome or judged because of their ethnicity. I hope this establishment takes accountability and implements proper measures to ensure all customers are treated with respect, equality, and dignity. Until then, I cannot recommend this place to anyone who expects basic human decency.

The weekends are quite crowded but even worse, the members leave their used towels on machines or on the floor. Weights and other items are also lying around or not restacked so others can use the machines. It’s quite disrespectful.

Overcrowded during the week days , bathroom always dirty . It’s not worthy the memberships since the gym it’s dated.

Oversubscribed — I like Equinox overall and this is a decent location but it gets extremely crowded after 4 PM until 9 PM. It also closes really early over weekends.
I have had equinox for 3-4 years now and have been happy with my experience overall but recently started going here and this location is not worth the monthly fees as a primary location.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but the trainers here on more than one occasion have pressured me to get off equipment I’m on when I was the first person on it in the first place. Mind you, it’s equipment in the general gym area, not the personal training area. I’ve never been to a gym that does this and I’m paying over $300/month to use this equipment.

As soon as I walked in, I was greeted and welcomed with enthusiasm. Check in was easy and seamless and I was shown around since it was first time. I love the location of this equinox and since I came during the gyms down time, there wasn’t any issues using equipment and machines. The steam room was great. A gym with a steam room is always a win for me. The management team was present on the floor and maintenance was keeping the facility clean and presentable. I would definitely come back here and I highly recommend others do so as well! Thank you Equinox!

It’s clean, well-maintained, and the staff is friendly and responsive. Outside of peak hours, it’s easy to pop in for a complete workout, then a quick steam and shower. Mornings are especially fun, and the crowd thins out at 8:30am. The big windows facing Park Ave are a nice backdrop; I like how the view keeps me feeling connected to the city.

I recently visited Equinox at One Park and was impressed by the clean and welcoming environment, as well as the friendly staff. It does tend to get a bit crowded after 5 pm, but that's to be expected for a popular club during peak hours. Overall, it's a great place to work out and stay active.

Missing equipment, not enough equipment; the story of every equinox you’ll ever go to. Catered too much towards the workout class folk and people with $ to spend on personal trainers. Only 3 squat racks, no hack squat, only 2 lat pull down cable machines, no standing calf machine, etc.

Extremely disappointed in this location. First off, I never see anyone cleaning and its always packed. I used to go to the Long Island location and honestly thought the quality of the city locations would be equal if not better. Wrong! I asked to hang up my coat-they said I need to pay $50/month for a locker. Is this a joke? I pay 300/month for an all access membership and see the trainers 5x a week. One of the elevators also just doesn't work and we were trapped in it for a bit. I told the desk and they were like "yeah we know." Shut the elevator off like really. The equipment is also very old and the trainers are ok at most. Watch the clock-within the span of 2 weeks, they tried to cut me on time 3x with one trying to end as much as 15 minutes early. Had I not advocated for myself, the session would have just ended. At one point, I was made fun of by another member (a 50 year old man) for wearing my casual polo shirt as workout attire-like really what are we 5 years old. Will not be renewing that's for sure
EDIT: The last couple of weeks have been a lot better. It's not even remotely as crowded. Have had better experiences with the trainers etc. Hopefully things trend towards a better direction permanently. Supposedly, there's a new manager who's very on top of things.

I cancelled my membership in August since I relocated and the staff confirmed it. Two months later my card has been billed $700. I rang in and was told it hadn’t been cancelled but they would do so and refund me if I provide proof of relocation which I did. Two weeks later no response or refund so I presume I’ll be charged another $300. Was thinking of rejoining when I returned but no way!

It’s impossible to cancel a membership. They leech off of you until they can’t anymore. Don’t do the mistake I did and make sure your membership is actually canceled after you cancel it. The best thing you can do is canceling your credit card.
Edit: I don’t even know they want me to contact them. It’s not like you are going to pay me back or anything. You can look up my name in your system and see.

To put things in perspective, I have the all access membership and this rating is me, comparing the club to the others. There’s nothing luxury about this club. Had a strong nysc vibe. Shower handles are lose, walls looked outdated, steam room was out of service, many machines were out… the list goes on. Oh, and it’s weirdly located on the second floor of a sketchy building. Definitely not worth the money.

Ok, so as a disclaimer, I'm posting these reviews for my reference. I have an All Access Membership, and I want to visit as many of these as I can, to see which one I like most/would like to go to.
My interests are powerlifting, Olympic weightlifting, swimming, so my review will be geared towards that.
This one also falls into the lower rung of the ladder when it comes to Equinox. For comparison's sake, I have been to the following so far:
West 92nd
West 76th
Highline
East 63rd
Equinox Columbus Circle
It's an Equinox, it's not terrible, but it's on thin ice.
One huge floor. But it's very crowded. I had a quick stop here, I didn't work out. But I don't think I'd want to. The cardio area is separate, and there is space between machines, but it's still pretty small (I suppose I can't blame them too much, New York is expensive, but they charge a pretty hefty sum for membership too, so, uh). No pool, standard Equinox amenities and machines.

Very cramped with long queues for cardio machines and weights. To make things worse, the trainers monopolize squat/power racks regardless of club members waiting. I blame poor management.
Unless you’re just looking to get bilked out of money each month, you should seriously consider alternative gyms. I find many of the NYSCs in midtown to be much better in terms of space and availability of exercise machines.
There’s also some questionable stuff going on in the sauna. Again, I feel poor management is dragging this place down.

Impossibly crowded in the evenings, much more so than a lot of much cheaper gyms. It’s also somewhat run down and underwhelming compared to some other Equinox locations. If I didn’t work in the same building it probably wouldn’t be worth it. Some awesome instructors and great classes, though! Staff all around are top notch.

Very bad experience. Assistant manager(I’ll renew her name soon) was questioning me about my membership status in a very unfriendly way. She was like “you have to follow me to my office, and no friend is allowed to come with you.” Ironically, it turned out she put in my name incorrectly, that’s why she thought I sneaked in this club!

The worst experience. They have class sign up for popular classes, which is a good idea. However, they don't enforce it. People can walk in 5 minutes into the class. The club management has not done anything about this. Also, the equipment is dirty and locker room stinky. Many times, the towels smell like they haven't been washed properly. TVs don't work. No individual TVs on any of aerobic machines including treadmills or bicycles or elliptical machines. Cable is always out so you can't even watch anything while exercising. These are standards in all other gyms which are only 1/2 to 1/3 the membership price .
Also always packed and since it is small l with very few outdated machines and free weights, there is no place to work out or find a free machine to use during the morning and evening rush hour. Not worth the ridiculous price.
