Ana is amazing! She has adapted fitness lessons for my son with special needs, and her energy, enthusiasm, joy and belief in him have made this studio an integral part of our community. We love it here!

I had my first private session with Ana yesterday, and it was fantastic. I'm healing from a broken ankle, and she walked me through various exercises to evaluate where I am with respect to strength and flexibility. She carefully started me with safe, conservative activities and worked up in difficulty until they were pushing me without risking injury. Ana paid close attention to how I was doing and responded well to my concerns and feedback. After the visit, she sent a summary of our session along with recommendations for next steps. I'm really looking forward to working with her more because it will both help me recover more quickly and I really like working with her.

The somatic/restorative candlelit yoga class on Sunday night was so relaxing! It was such a cozy way to end the weekend and get ready for the week ahead. I ❤️d it!

Esquina is not just another boutique fitness gym; it’s more like the gentle heart center of a neighborhood. Ana, the creator of Esquina, has curated a space and assembled a team that supports us in exploring our relationships with health, strength, embodiment, and movement in a deeply human way. Her solid knowledge base of biomechanics and kinesiology is enriched by the infusion of beautiful cultural elements and practices, making being a part of the Esquina community a holistic experience.

Welcoming, clean, well-equipped place. I took the Beginners Kettlebell Skills class with Katie Bergstrom and it was great. Challenging, but totally accessible to a newbie like me. I plan to return!

I’ve been coming to group classes at Esquina since they opened and have always appreciated the variety of classes and the expertise of the trainers. In January, I slipped, fell, and broke my fibula (ankle). I emailed Ana to put my membership on hold—she did so right away and also recommended personal training to help me stay fit during my recovery while wearing a boot.
Thank goodness for that advice—I started working out with Katie! She is a highly knowledgeable and experienced trainer. I enjoyed every session with her, as she focused not only on my recovery but also on my overall fitness goals. Katie is a wonderful person and an amazing trainer. I highly recommend her!
Rather than stopping altogether, personal training allowed me to work out safely through my injury—and I’m now back to group classes feeling stronger, more confident, and in better shape both physically and mentally than if I had taken a full break.

Had a strength training class with Will, which was a first for me, having never been to a class of any sort at any gym. It was definitely worthwhile and I will be back.

I started going to Esquina when it first opened and took my first kettlebell class ever - I loved it. I continued stopping by for classes and found myself coming 2-3 times a week and looking forward to the classes. The space is lovely, bright and airy. Ana, Katie and Will have been incredibly welcoming and each bring a unique approach to each of their classes while offering quick one on one advice during or after a class. I decided to start personal training with Katie to push myself and in just 5 months I'm the strongest I've ever been and have found myself doing things I never thought of - like pull ups and hex bar dead lifts. I feel great and love the community workout vibe that Esquina brings. Couldn't recommend checking out this place for a workout more - you'll love it.

Enjoyed the personal session with Ana tremendously and learned a lot (toe spacers in the mail!); the same with both classes I've attended so far. I appreciate her precise, intelligent approach. I'm so glad Esquina is in the neighborhood!

Came here for a capoeira event, workshops and roda included. Fell in love when coming here. The energy is grand, the space is clean, inviting and friendly. The people that work/attend here (Ana Costa and others) are so open and mindful. They make you feel welcomed and seen; I’ll definitely be coming back 💖

Immaculate, beautiful and inspiring space. My daughter and I have taken some of the group classes (jump rope and kettle bells) and found them challenging yet fun. The instructor’s are amazing! Ana (owner) and Gary were super knowledgeable and passionate. Can’t wait to go back.

Esquina offers the best personal training in Brooklyn! I began working with Esquina’s owner, Ana, nearly a decade ago following a traumatic bike crash that resulted in a severe lower-leg injury. While I was initially focused on rebounding from the injury, through Ana’s thoughtful programming and coaching, I have since achieved many other fitness goals, including running my first marathon, which I would never have thought possible after my accident. Our functional training sessions — infused with sweat, encouragement, and laughter — have also helped me to navigate major life changes and, most recently, emerge from graduate school both physically and mentally prepared for the next stage of my career. As I enter my forties, l’m proud and grateful to say that l'm the strongest and most in tune with my body I have ever been.

Beautiful space with great classes. Ana really knows what she’s doing, and I leave every session with her feeling 20x better than I did when I arrived. Her mobility class is better than any yoga or stretch class that I’ve done anywhere, and her strength work is accessible for all body types - she’ll push you if you’re coming with a ton of experience, or adapt to your range and skill level if you’re new to strength training.
