Sucking you dry with the price. Was a point in time that they just kept adding a bunch of useless leg machines while cramming up the area. Steamroom half the time is out of order. You’d be lucky if all 3 of the showers worked. The locker rooms are barely big enough to a few people and overall, doesnt provide the quality for the price you pay. I ended up transferring back to Retro, after leaving the gym in September. Not to mention, they will force you to pay for another month if you want to cancel your membership. And forget about contacting them online through email, someone with broken english will respond hours later. Spend your money somewhere where it is worth. This place lacks professionalism, convenience, and tries to suck every last dollar out if you🥺

Nice rare gym in the area. It’s never too crowded and has so many different spaces and equipment, plus a steam room (too bad they don’t have towels though). The equipment is well maintained and clean. Great music selection. You also get reward points every time you go which you can redeem for smoothies etc! Highly recommend!

I never write reviews. But do not join this gym. I was paying a monthly membership. I requested to pause and they tried to scam me. So I canceled my membership. Every few months they call and email me requesting insane amounts of money. Someone needs to report them to the better business bureau.

Been going here for almost two years. It’s decent with nice equipment everyone keeps to themselves. I wish they had paper towel in the bathrooms it feels a bit unhygienic not to at a gym and wish they mopped the bathrooms better. The paper towel machines should also give more paper on the gym floor. But it’s okay, fitnation and harbor are better but if you’re closer to this one it’s better than retro or blink.

Nice local gym, love that they close 11pm on weekdays, but their weekend hours are not as late. I’ve always had friendly and warm help from the front desk. They opened up a new section for machines targeting glutes and legs which is where I spend most of my workout. I’m looking forward to the calisthenics room opening up, although it is delayed, it should be opening up soon — the gym has a big need for stretching, and dumbbell workouts since the upstairs can get crowded. For $52/month, I am happy with the quality of the gym and the atmosphere of other gym goers who are respectful. Shoutouts to Eddie for helping me find a space to rig my own aerial hammock I bought from home.

The gym has decent equipment, but the biggest issue is the temperature. It’s consistently too high, with poor air circulation, making the air feel humid and heavy. In the summer, it becomes almost unbearable to work out. The cardio area is even worse—elevated, hotter, and completely lacking ventilation. When I want to do cardio I just go to Blink.

If this issue were fixed, I’d be happy to reconsider my review.

I can’t give this place less than 5 stars for the value. Perhaps on a 10 point scale I would give them an 8.5/9, but I think what this place offers is great for the price. Lots of machines. Like 2-3+ different machines, between plate loaded and cable resistance offerings, per major muscle/muscle group. Different rooms for different types of circuits. Lots of free weights, but they can be competitive to get time on, and especially the benches. They can get busy (which means they are doing something right), which sometimes means I can’t quite get the workout I want due to access, but at least people don’t camp on the machines scrolling their phones like at certain Planet Fitness or Blink locations. In that way, the clientele is pretty respectful. It would be nice if the clientele would clean the machines more consistently, but if it’s between that and efficient use of time between sets, I’d take the latter. I wish the class area wasn’t still under renovation. Not really for the classes, but to free up more areas for stretching and calisthenics and warmup. They have an awesome area for pushing/dragging sleds and lunges and stuff, but it can be hard to get space because people use it for things that could be done with more space for stretching and stuff elsewhere. All in all, I’m really glad I joined this gym. I like it a lot and I think it’s totally worth it’s monthly price. 5 stars from me.

I’ve been going to this gym for two years now and this is my honest review.

To start, i gotta say this is my favorite gym i’ve used in NYC. The price is unmatched for the value of the gym. The space, the equipment, the energy. Top tier imo.

Equipment: there is no lack in equipment here. you have a massive space for plate loaded or pin loaded machines of varying types so you typically don’t have to wait. there are four separate squat racks as well as two smith machines. a full room designated to dumbbells and benches, a full room for bench pressesc a circuit training area, the “booty blaster” room of all glute focused machines, and plenty of cardio machines (but not overkill that it takes over 40% of the space)

The space: clean and spacious, cool jet black and neon green accents. the booty blaster room has LEDs for solid pics if that’s your thing. locker room is a basic ny locker room. if you’re looking for luxury, look elsewhere. some complain it’s dirty but it’s just a regular old locker room. The juice/smoothie bar is fire and not overpriced.

The people: both gym crowd and staff are super chill and friendly. you do have your fair amount of gymfluencers with their tripods and mics 🙄, but that’s unavoidable these days. they don’t take over the place however which is great.

The one downfall of this place i will say (double edged sword) is the renovations. they are certainly elevating the space which is cool, but they are taking foreverrr. the aerobic studio has been used as a storage space for the construction equipment for a solid year now with no end in sight. any time you ask they’ll say another month, but just keeps getting pushed back. Because of that the turf area (which is shrinking down by more machines being added) is overrun with members doing abs and stretching so it’s hard to find a length of space for walking lunges, ropes, etc. Equipment will also just disappear for new machines or to get rebranded so sometimes it’s hard for consistency on your routine. Pros and cons.

Overall, love this gym, 8.5 out of 10!

I moved out of state and was instructed to cancel my membership via their office email that supposedly goes directly to a manager. I have sent multiple emails and they have continued to charge me. Also the saunas never worked and the locker rooms weren’t that clean.

The equipment is solid and there aren’t many options in the area so they are happy to take advantage of that :)

I really wanted to love this gym. At first glance, it looks great—plenty of machines, different rooms for various muscle groups, and an overall organized layout. The front desk staff was very helpful and attentive. Although she couldn’t give me a tour, she provided clear directions on where everything was located, which made navigating the space easy.

However, my biggest disappointment was the bathroom—it smelled terrible and looked dirty. I honestly couldn’t see myself using it in that condition. Since this was my first visit, I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt—maybe I came on an off day when the cleaning staff wasn’t available. But considering they don’t offer any trial memberships, it’s tough to commit with such a mixed first impression. I even considered getting a day pass, but at $30 per day, that’s just too expensive.

It’s unfortunate because the gym itself looks promising, but with concerns about cleanliness and pricing, it didn’t work out for me.

DON’T BELIEVE THE HYPE!!
I signed up for this gym back in March because it looked so promising. The gym is large, the equipment is modern, and there was a big room in the back with hardwood floors that they said would be used for classes and workouts once renovations were complete. Fast forward to January, and that room is still a mess, with no visible progress in sight.

My first visit was intimidating. While the gym looks great, there’s no staff presence to help. No one wears uniforms or anything to distinguish them from regular gym-goers, so I had no idea who to ask for assistance. The equipment wasn’t being cleaned between uses—sweaty machines everywhere and no one enforcing hygiene standards.

Today was the final straw. I tried going early, hoping to ask for help when it wasn’t busy. When I approached the front desk and asked if someone could show me how to use a few machines, the girl just said, “Not really.” I’m paying $60 a month for this? If I wanted a no-frills, unprofessional experience, I could pay $15 for the same chaos at another gym.

I decided to cancel my membership on the spot. Not only did the staff not bother asking why or trying to fix the situation, but they also charged me a $97 cancellation fee! No manager came over, no effort was made to retain me as a customer. It was basically “good riddance.” That tells me I’m not the first—and definitely won’t be the last—to leave frustrated.

If you’re considering joining, save yourself the headache and take your business elsewhere. This gym may look nice, but the service is nonexistent, the management doesn’t care about its members, and they’ll happily charge you an outrageous fee just to walk away.

Where to begin... This gym had very good equipment but very poor management and very poor business tactic. Let's start with a lot of times some machines are out of service and they take long to repair. The bathroom has been flooded with water and no one has come to fix it, looks like they're waiting for someone to slip and have a lawsuit. They keep increasing maintenance fee without informing customers. The enrollment fees are a bunch of scams. They don't prioritize parking for gym customers. Vending machine product always gets stuck and no one ever has to open it. This gym claim for bankruptcy three different times in the change their name three different times and still have the audacity to charge customers late fees about 6 years ago when the gym was a different name. By the way same owners. Basically this is a cutthroat gym and it's a damn shame to people who looking to better their lives. SCAM.. SCAM... SCAM.

And they're curious why they keep losing so many customers and why the gym is so empty.

If you make a payment in cash on your due date instead of card on file you get hit with a $25 late fee. Plus with this cyber outage. Their app isn’t working properly. Causing an automatic $25 late fee. Even when you do pay with card on file on your due date. The app failed to make the withdrawal on its own, leading to bring it to the attention to front desk. Who went to get the manager. Who was to busy to even attend the issue or make her way out her office. Even with them knowing their app is having these issues. You’re still expected to pay an extra $25

The music at Evolve is very loud, making it difficult to hear your own headphones, even with noise-canceling AirPods. It seems like the staff might not realize that many members prefer to control their own audio, whether it's music, a podcast, or a workout guide.

When I've asked to lower the volume, the staff hasn't been very responsive. Having music in the gym is great, but keeping it at a lower volume would significantly improve the experience for members. The facility is excellent, though the bathrooms could use some attention. Just wanted to share my thoughts constructively.

Evolve Health & Fitness is an amazing gym. I love working out here, the members, and the staff, and trainers are super sweet. The gym equipment is amazing and updated; the gym has a juice bar, and shower and a SAUNA??? It’s a big gym BY THE WAY! It has a private upstairs area for people who are shy, or just want to workout alone. They also have a massage bed. It’s never too packed, so I can use any machine I want without having to wait over 5 minutes. But I give this place a 5⭐️ it’s amazing.

Is it me or are all the Google reviews in the past month fake? A bunch of 5 star reviews all at the same time? They're not spread out over time like all the other reviews and they had 3.6 stars for a long time up until a couple weeks ago...I hope I'm wrong. They sound super corny. Some of them just sound like advertisements.

*Edit* the gym has been getting better recently. There used to be more broken equipment but they have been replaced. The paper towels/spray have been more stocked too. Overall it's a nice seperated space.

It’s a very big gym with a wide selection of equipment, and is rarely crowded.

However, the real reason I chose this gym over others was for use of the steam room. I’d have no problem going to Blink or other local gyms, but I believe use of steam room brings great benefits and makes me feel my best.

That is why it has been extremely frustrating that, in the year and a half I have belonged to this gym, the steam room has broken at minimum 4 times. Now, I understand equipment breaks down, that will happen anywhere. But only at this gym does it seem to take an entire month or longer to fix. That is what I find unacceptable. There’s just no way it needs to take an entire month every time. I’ve belonged to many gyms over the years with sauanas and steam rooms, and never seen this kind of persistent maintence issues that take so long to repair. If it happens one more time I will probably cancel the membership.

Cons: 50% of the time there are no paper towels or cleaner. It's nasty. It's $50/month. Steam room is often out of service. Showers are not very clean. Locker room is small. The whole gym usually reeks of BO after 3pm. You get emails about points but you can't redeem them. Stairmaster ALWAYS broken. Overall it seems like the staff doesn't care. The owner and general manager obviously don't.

P.s. The ladies making smoothies dont know what they are putting in them. I am new to lifting so I asked about the Serious Mass shakes. They said they just have more whey protien. I asked if there was anything else like creatine. She said no. Then I got diarrhea. The whole smoothie thing is eh. There is Kings Juice Bar down the stree.

this gym would be worth the high cost if it didn't come with being uncomfortable. there are more men at this gym than there are women. which never bothers me. i usually mind my own business anyways. but the men (including the employers) constantly gawk and bother you. if it's not one man trying to teach you how to use a machine, it's someone trying to catch your eye so they can get a word in with you. now i have to seriously consider ending my membership and going elsewhere that's not convenient for me because i find myself avoiding working out for this reason. not sure if there's anything management can do about this but just wanted to warn other people before signing a contract

2.5 stars. Pretty good facilities, OK vibe. BIG!

BUT: this place is not run well. The management doesn't even pretend to care about fixing stuff or things like keeping paper towels stocked. Out of paper towels so much it's gross. Can't replace missing soap dispensers. They cannot fix anything. Had to fix the rowing machine myself. Honestly it's kinda funny how bad the management is here.

Good gym with lots of space and machines; but consistently runs out of paper towels to wipe down machines (we're talking like entire days 2/3 times a week). So probably a health inspection nightmare in there! Work out at your own risk!

Used to love this gym but lately the quality has gone down. There's no paper towels or cleaning solution like there used to be. And they charge for lost cards too! I mean come on. They send you emails saying your racking points but you can't redeem them... so I don't understand. The gym is a good location and space but time to look for another gym

Love this gym! An array of weights, machines, and different spaces. It’s never as crowded as the other gyms in the neighborhood and the staff is extremely friendly. Had a free training with Cole and learned some great skills/foundation. Couldn’t recommend evolve enough

It's ok. What's frustrating is that it has exactly as many squat racks/power racks as Blink Fitness. This is by far the most popular piece of equipment with long wait times. If you're going to have to wait to use this equipment, you might as well do the waiting at a gym that costs half as much. I don't understand why their can't be 4 or 5 squat racks....this is a large space, but the floor has too many old machines that few people use and not enough squat/power racks.

NEVER go to this gym or sign up. They will scam you and try to gouge your wallet for everything it's got. I repeat DO NOT go to this gym. They will charge you for an extra month if you decide to not want to go here and make your life as tough as possible in the meantime. They will pretend t listen while not do anything. Unfortunately, i have to rate this place a one , they are affiliated with the evolve fitness in east meadow. I just signed and paid for a one year membership , and the closed a month and a half later. They said i would be getting my money back!! They lied!! They keep promising that they have some bond that woukd reimburse me!! They lied. They took my money knowing there was a good possibility of closing!! Thieves.
I wouldnt trust them !!! Definitely do not pay your membership in full!!

Had to share this pretty cool customer service experience I received at Evolve Health and fitness.
I want to express my sincere gratitude to the customer service I received from Vianna Nunez from Evolve Health and Fitness. I have to say she is definitely the definition of what customer service is. I had a billing inquiry and was not satisfied with what I thought could not be resolved. Vianna listened and was understanding to my concerns, she assured me that she would do all she can to resolve my concerns. Never once did she use the word can’t but rather fully explained what the policies and procedures are. Vianna didn’t allow me to leave until she had an answer for me (going above and beyond) WOW, truly amazing. She said go work out and I’ll follow up with you. At the end, my concerns were listened to and resolved - Thank you Vianna for providing a +1 customer experience. Excellent job Evolve on having Vianna on your team.

One of the better gyms I’ve been to, spacious! Evolve has everything you could possibly need. Not to mention the perfect variety of cardio equipment. Owners and staff are great, members are respectful and don’t leave weights everywhere. The Juice Bar is point, must try the Acai Bowl.

So happy to be back to the gym after quarantine. Evolve feels very safe and the staff are extremely conscious of cleanliness and safety. Since everything shut down the gym has reopened with a new name and look. I love all the upgrades. This is definitely the best gym in the area.

I was a member since 2017 and when the pandemic started, gym was closed for almost 8 months and I tried calling them to cancel the membership which i even did but the lady who cancelled the membership never sent me an e-mail confirming the cancellation. After whole lot of misunderstanding, came to know that the membership was never cancelled. So, I got a call from collection agency that I have due balance. I got so upset and called gym to know whats going on. The front desk lady Courtney responded and she was very helpful and informative as she listened to my problem with patience and even solved my problems . Overall, I had a great experience, highly recommend Courtney as she solved my problem right away. She was very professional and very helpful. I recommend talking to Courtney if you have any issues in gym. She is the problem solver.

Have not been to this gym since pre pandemic and what a beautiful welcome. They changed the name, the colors, the feel and I am so happy I walked in. During this time I have been very nervous to step back at the club but as you enter you can see all the work they put in to make you feel safe. Atrocious business practices. The gym stopped taking membership dues due to covid but never informed me when they were debiting my account again. Just looked at the charges today and the dues are now $16 higher than what I agreed to. Will be calling my bank to dispute charges.

Poor communication by a specific girl name
(C-K)ourtney. We let her know that we were coming from Astoria to their location which is a 20 min drive already. Asked her if they’re doing a Free trail and they said “Yes, just bring an id”...Get there to find out they only do Free trails to people who live in the area.. 20 dollar fee for everybody else..and 20 minutes wasted.. heard the gym was 42-45 dollars a month extra 20 per day IF late.. and the gym a size of a nice little studio.. super not worth it.. probably the same reason why world gym is no longer there Shout Out Diana for clarifying everything

Hidden fees. Charging you $20 for single day late payments. Price is double what was being charged before rebranding. Gym was "renovated where in reality machine fabric was changed from red to green. Water fountains don't work so as to encourage you to buy their drinks and use their vending machine. STAY AWAY!!
