About the Club

Free Spirits Yoga is all about being creative while still honoring authentic yoga teachings. We will stress the importance of keeping the mind focused on the observation of the body and the breath. We specialize in both heated and non-heated vinyasa yoga. Our yoga classes are differentially instructed, so there will be opportunity to create your own level of practice each time you come to your mat. We incorporate asana (postures) practice, Pranayama (breath work) and Yoga Philosophies. While physically challenging, the emphasis is for this movement to occur only with consistent breath and steady mind. What a beautiful thing to find a way to benefit your body, mind and soul while having fun and connecting with a most wonderful community.

Great classes, wildly overpriced drop in rate that makes it hard to support. Definitely not worth $40 for a class.

Update: a strategy that's overpriced for a drop in so that people buy a package doesn't work for people visiting. I just went to one of the absolute best yoga classes I've taken while visiting Montreal where they could easily overcharge but it was $23. This philosophy is anti-yogic is my opinion as a practitioner and teacher for almost 20 years. Dropped to 2 stars based on the greedy response.

Read the reviews and was so eager to join. Went there door locked- saw someone in work out clothes walking towards the backnof the building so thought maybe that’s where the enterance might be- but I couldn’t get in to get myself registered. The number in google does not work. Filled up the form online as well but no response. Wrote an email - no response- tried the number on the website invalid number- it has been a week and I have been trying to reach- I’ve never felt so confused with a business or a workout place before and also feel so frustrated because I am unable to contact. Is this is such a good place then they should probably focus a little on responsiveness and enabling the means to be reachable when a new person is trying to join. I will look for some other place in the area since this is a dead end for me.
****
9/15/25: Thank you for the note. I’ve tried calling the number listed on google again but the call doesn’t go through.

This is the greatest place ever and I am so happy I found it. When I first started, I was super uncomfortable doing yoga or any type of movements in a public space. As I kept practicing, I couldn’t help but feel more confidence in myself, my movements, and my body. I really enjoy the hot yoga classes (which range from 95-110F). If hot yoga isn’t for you, don’t worry they have a bunch of other types include aerial, restorative, and just warm.

All of the instructors are amazing, knowledgeable, and care about your progress. My favorite instructors are Raquel (who is also the owner), Mary, and Amy. They are the greatest ever and have helped me become better at yoga but also more comfortable with myself.

There are so many benefits to yoga, especially hot, that I have found within my self. I burn a ton of calories here just by doing yoga. There is something about being covered in sweat that makes me feel renewed. Don’t get me wrong, it’ll be a bit difficult at first to get the movements down and to keep up, but don’t worry no one is judging you or looking at you. They provide alternatives for some of the movements if you can’t do a certain one. I started in May of 2023 where I had no idea what a warrior pose was, and now I’m almost able to do a headstand. The class has really helped to connect me with my body and help me know myself, and control my bodily movements. Kind of like calisthenics.

All in all, the best investment I have made in a while. 🐛 🧘‍♀️

I don't even know where to begin. Free Spirits Yoga is my home away from home. The 1st class I ever took was an aerial yoga class and now I am proud to say that I am enrolled in the aerial yoga teacher training and I LOVE IT. Raquel has created a beautiful studio space and it offers something for everyone. No matter where you are in your practice Free Spirits has it all. Even better, they offer wellness services like massage, acupuncture, sauna, red light therapy and so much more. Highly recommend free spirits yoga.

This yoga studio is truly a sanctuary! From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed by the calming atmosphere and friendly staff. I attended one of their hot yoga classes, and it was hands-down one of the most invigorating and empowering experiences I’ve had. The room was perfectly heated; creating the ideal environment to deepen my practice, break a sweat, and release built-up tension.

The instructor was knowledgeable, supportive, and guided the class with just the right balance of challenge and mindfulness. I left feeling refreshed, re-centered, and stronger; both mentally and physically.

The studio is absolutely gorgeous! I am in the middle of using my Groupon for two weeks unlimited. The two classes I’ve taken have been wonderful and a really great way to get back into my practice and play! The temperature is not as hard on me as I thought. My only complaint is it’s a little tricky to get to when driving east on 25A. Will absolutely be doing drop ins when my unlimited is up.

Update: Big Thanks to Nancy who saw my emails, texts and the previous review. They quickly rectified the issue via a refund. She also apologized for the miscommunication via the Checking in policy cuz, online, it doesn't state that they lock the doors before class starts "to prevent theft". I hope someone fixes this for other newcomers. I'm giving this 4 stars cuz I was upset that I wasted precious gas BUT they were Nice to me and let me keep my class credit so I'll come back another time.

Really upset with the unresponsiveness of this place. I’ve called, left a voicemail, text messages AND emails with no response and it’s been weeks. I wasted money on a class I couldn’t attend and prior to going I tried multiple times to reach out to see if I could apply the $ to another class on a different date. No one could get back to me therefore I paid basically for nothing.

I was really excited to go here and although it’s been about 2 weeks since my last time reaching out, this studio STILL hasn’t gotten back to me!

I just don’t get how I can support a business if you have multiple methods of communication and don’t answer one of them…

I’ve been attending Peaceful Warrior Yoga since classes were allowed to resume due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I was very impressed by seeing the owners follow every protocol issued by Govn. Cuomo, including temperature checks when arriving, mandatory health assessment questionnaires, as well as mask requirements. There are hand sanitizers located at the entrance and in the bathrooms. Which I have seen filled every class that I attend.

In addition, I also have practiced at Free Spirits Yoga in Sayville which are the same owners and they too follow the same protocols as Peaceful Warrior.

It all started with a drop in class at Peaceful Warrior and I was instantly hooked. I had been looking for a yoga studio to supplement my crossfit and running workout regime, but hadn't had any luck. I was also reluctant to try yoga again because I never honestly felt the benefits from it in the past. I was also especially hesitant to try Hot yoga, but I am so glad I did...and so glad I decided to choose Peaceful Warrior. Every class I've gone to I leave feeling so refreshed and rejuvenated. Each instructor has their own approach and flow which always keeps things interesting. I always know I'm getting a good session in, regardless of what instructor is leading the class. Their schedule also works perfectly with mine, with offerings right after work, late evenings, and on weekends. I love the 4-class package option they offer because I really only wanted 1 day/week of yoga to supplement the other activities I'm doing. This payment option fits the bill, literally. AND, the studio is literally down the road from my house so I usually walk to class. I would highly recommend checking them out if you're in the area. Both the instructors and the members are so welcoming and friendly. It's a little family for sure :)

Yoga is the connection of the mind, body and spirit. I have been practicing yoga consistently for the past 3 years. It wasn’t until I found Peaceful Warrior Yoga Center that I truly felt a mind, body, spirit connection in my practice.

The studio is very clean and provides a peaceful atmosphere. Dawn and her team always welcome you with a smile, motivate you to find your edge and encourage you to make each practice your best by keeping your mind focused and controlling your breath. They bring their own style into each class, which makes your practice fun and challenging.

Many different levels of classes are offered, as well as workshops outside of the studio. I recently attended Sunday Family Yoga Day at the Peconic River Herb Farm. It took place outdoors overlooking the river, which provided a peaceful environment and meditative practice. Stand Up Paddleboard yoga is also offered, which is on my yogi to do list!

I have been inspired to deepen my love and appreciation for yoga by obtaining my yoga teacher certification through Peaceful Warrior. I am so excited and I look forward to lead students to find their own mind, body and spirit connection.

I took a few classes a couple of months ago and just loved the instructors! Each had something unique to contribute to the class in their own style . Everyone made me feel very welcome and comfortable to go my own pace.

More recently, I attended the Sunday Family Day at Peconic Herb River Farm. Class Instructor was Dawn. She was great! very supportive, checking our poses and guiding us throughout the class. What a creative idea to take classes outdoors in such a beautiful setting! The sun was shining, the river was glistening.... it was heavenly..plus there was a Kid's Yoga class, too. A really fun day for all!

Well, that got me motivated to take another class at the Studio. I took the no heat Vinyasa class with instructor Bridget. Again, a great instructor, very supportive and offered alternative poses depending on your level. This class is level 1/2. While I was there, other students were talking about an advanced class that Instructor Dawn lead . They were just clamoring about how awesome her class was!
I am so glad I found Peaceful Warrior Yoga Center! What a quality place, like a yoga spa--offering a calm and nurturing environment--not to mention immaculate & beautifully designed!
The instructors actively support students in correcting pose, guiding tips and advice along with creating a peaceful and healthy environment- not to mention a great workout!
I like that there's a choice of various level classes and alternative venues; all as a reinforcement of growing one's yoga practice. I just love it!

They have hot yoga, warm yoga, and no heat yoga, so you can choose what you feel like going to, which is a plus. Even though they have hot yoga classes, it does NOT stink!! They also must have some other incense or room spray they use because it feels like a spa.
