Freya Movement Studio is an NYC based prenatal and postpartum fitness studio. Freya Movement believes that expecting and new parents deserve to feel safe, seen and supported.
At Freya Movement Studio you'll learn how to move your body safely and efficiently through high intensity, low impact workouts that focus on training for the performance event of labor and delivery. Many fitness classes can leave you feeling uncertain about what you can and can’t do. Our classes are beat-driven, challenging and fun! We always offer multiple levels for each exercise so you can choose the one that feels best. Our workouts empower you so you feel strong, confident and free. You can end your pregnancy stronger than when you started.

I liked that all the movements were pregnancy safe! A good mix of cardio and strength training.
But the studio is small and crowded when all 10 students are there. There is no changing room, only a small bathroom stall, so I recommend coming already dressed for class, otherwise, you’ll be squashed trying to change.

As a fertility and prenatal acupuncturist, I’m very selective about the professionals I refer my patients to—and this prenatal Pilates studio is truly exceptional. The instructors are not only deeply knowledgeable about the pregnant body, but they bring such warmth and attentiveness to every class.
The small group format allows for individualized support and modifications, which is so important during pregnancy. One feels stronger, more connected, and more confident in how they feel in their bodies after just a few sessions here.
It’s rare to find a studio that combines evidence-based movement with such genuine care. I trust Jenny and her team completely and recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone looking for safe, empowering prenatal fitness.

I had Jenny, owner of Freya Movement, as a doula and it is the best money I’ve ever spent. Prior to labor, she held a number of very informative sessions with my husband and me about what to expect and how to prepare for labor. She shared tailored reading materials with us, checked in regularly and coached us towards the delivery based on our needs. With her guidance, we developed a detailed plan with preferences for how we wanted the labor to proceed, with a plan A, B and C which we were able to communicate to our OB/GYN. She addressed our fears and expectations with knowledge, kindness and flexibility. And during labor, she was indispensable. Jenny was there for every minute of my long labor. Even with your partner close to you in the delivery room, labor can be a lonely and isolating experience, navigating a medical system that sometimes works according to its own logic instead of yours.
That’s why I am so grateful for Jenny -- at every moment she was there to relieve my pain and help us think through next steps, rationally and calmly. During contractions, she put me in a variety of counterpressure positions that relieved my pain. She also comforted me, and advocated for me in front of the nurses and the doctors.
We can highly recommend Jenny, regardless of the labor journey you want to pursue, and will remain ever grateful to her for what she did to us.

Such an awesome place! The classes have been a key part of my physical and mental health from the second to the fourth trimester. It's been truly inspiring to watch Jenny build this outstanding support environment and community of women navigating pregnancy and postpartum. From curating ever-changing fitness routines on great playlists, to expanding the classes offering to serve different stages of the pregnancy journey, to creating fun stickers that match the studio's colors, is there anything she can't do?! Bring your friends, you won't be disappointed!

Freya Movement Studio is such a beautifully thoughtful and supportive environment. Whether you're a new parent, pregnant, or not pregnant at all, there's an incredible level of care and encouragement here that makes you feel seen and empowered. I took a class with Jenny and was blown away by how aware I became of all the intricate muscles that truly impact my workouts. I was able to move comfortably while still pushing myself and getting my heart rate up. I highly recommend this studio to anyone who is learning more about their body and wants to safely push themselves personally and in life!

Amazing and highly recommended studio for prenatal workout! The classes have been a huge help for me within my pregnancy. I was dealing with major back and rib pain in the middle of my pregnancy and I am grateful to come across this group. The instructors are very knowledgeable and the classes are challenging in all the right way. The support from the staff is warming and it's been really fun to meet other expecting mothers in the city. I can't recommend this studio enough, it's been a great highlight within my pregnancy's journey!
