i decided to take my first pilates class at fringe over a year ago, i was extremely scared but motivated by this cute studio with the pink wall that had opened across the street from my fave cafe! Fringe has challenged and inspired the way i define community. It is a space that not only welcomes beginners, but embodies gradual learning. As someone who is naturally a visual learner it has increased my self confidence and transformed the way I view my relationship to wellness. I love the affordability that frequent discounts offer, the variety of class offerings throughout the week, and the versatility of trainers. I leave refreshed and challenged every class!

Fringe Pilates has me in a chokehold—in the best way. Every class leaves me feeling stronger, taller, and more at peace in my body. The instructors are absolute gems: patient, encouraging, and somehow always know when to push you just the right amount. I’ve always felt comfortable and welcome here, no matter my fitness level, which means a lot. The playlists are elite, the vibe is unmatched, and the energy? Chef’s kiss. It’s giving strength, stretch, and serotonin. ✨

For so many reasons, I love this place. First - the staff. Everyone is friendly, welcoming and supportive. Class times - easy to work into my day. Community events. And my favorite part - the body inclusivity. There is a lack of a “fix your body” or “here’s how to shrink you”, but rather an improve your relationship to your body that was so refreshing. Can’t recommend enough!

Overall rating: 4.7
Super cool local pilates in PLG/ Flatbush. So popular, they opened a 2nd location! I wasn’t sure what or how to sign up and their email information is so helpful. I’ve done the intro special and I enjoyed going. Since they’re a small studio, the sign up process is a bit intense. I had to set a few alarms to get the classes I want. Slightly too much anxiety for me. Still recommend!

LOVE LOVE LOVEEEE the atmosphere here. Everyone is so welcoming and patient. Even with my first class there was no sense of intimidation which motivated me to keep going! I am so glad my friend recommended this place to me right when I thought I was going to give up pilates entirely. I AM SO BACK BABY! #feelinggood

I was excited to support a local business and bought a class card but could never use it because they have very limited space in their classes - 3 spots. It expired just when they opened the new location which has more room so I asked if they could extend it by a week. Literally just seven more days - that would have helped. They refused very rudely. Suggestion: if you don’t have a lot of room in your classes, don’t punish the customer who bought your services in advance. Luckily there is no shortage of Pilates studios.

Fringe Pilates is a true gem in Brooklyn. From the moment you walk in, you feel the care and intention behind the space—it’s welcoming, intimate, and beautifully curated. The instructors are not only highly knowledgeable but also deeply attentive, meeting you exactly where you are in your practice while still pushing you to grow. Every class feels personalized, even in a group setting, and the vibe is always supportive and uplifting. Whether you’re a beginner or more advanced, Fringe strikes the perfect balance between challenge and flow. It’s honestly the highlight of my week.

This studio is such an amazing addition to the neighborhood. I've been going to Doriane for over a year, and she is one of the kindest, thoughtful instructors I've ever had. I have a knee injury, and she always remembers and shows up to class with modifications and workouts made to strengthen my knee. I've gone to classes with a handful of other instructors as well, and they're all knowledgeable, patient, and kind. I would give it 10000 stars if I could.

I discovered Fringe existed while listening to a podcast where the host was raving about this black woman owned place. I was a bit weary at first since it's been years since I attended a session, but I went ahead and booked my first class. This was back in September of last year and now I attend a class (or two) every week.
The space is very cute and inviting. There are only 3 reformers so the class always keeps an intimate feel. My first instructor happened to be Ana Maria and I am officially part of her hive. I always leave her class feeling beat but at the same time energized by what my body was able to do. The sore muscles the next day are also a plus! I also love how she starts and ends her classes too, prioritizing the breath.
I have attended other classes with the owner Tay, Laraisha, DJ Rock and Doriane to name a few. All the instructors have been so kind and welcoming, they each bring their own uniqueness creating a different experience. Fringe has changed booking systems this year and now have their own namesake app to easily book, cancel or get on a waitlist. My one advice would be to set a reminder 1 week ahead to really secure the class you want. Overall, Fringe has helped renew my love of Pilates and make it a staple in my exercise regimen.

I absolutely love Fringe Pilates! I’ve taken classes with 3 different instructors and they were all incredibly knowledgeable.
The small class sizes allow for personalized attention, especially if you need accommodations for previous injuries.
After trying out several Pilates studios in NYC, this one easily takes the top spot for me!

I had a fun mat session with Rory (hope the spelling is correct:)) and I loved it! Thank you for paying attention as I have a lower back pain and she was very careful with the exercises. It was my first pilates session after many many years and I left there literally "renewed". I'm so happy we have a great pilates studio in the neighborhood. Highly recommended!

I can't give this a rating because i did not even go in. i had a hard time finding parking and was 11 minutes late. They lock the door and dont let you in. You only have a 6-minute grace period. I completely understand that. What i dont understand was that i was not allowed to reschedule or get a refund. That was not fair since it was my first time. I was really excited but now i will not book another class ever! Very disappointing! They should at least let the first timers reschedule once.

I love doing pilates at Fringe! The instructors are so kind, gentle and helpful. The space is welcoming and makes me excited to come workout. The location is convenient to access and there's lots of Black-owned businesses around it to support before and after the sessions. Oh and did I mentioned it's Black woman owned! I couldn't recommend Fringe more!

Went here for a (first time) session last Tuesday and 5 stars isnt enough. The space is very welcoming and aesthetically pleasing. My instructor was LaRaisha. She was very informative, relatable & just a pleasant to have experienced for my first pilates class. Traveled from NJ to Fringe Pilates and plan to continue to do so!

This is my favorite Pilates place now! The classes are so small that every participant gets almost as much attention as one would in a private lesson. The instructor is both supportive and challenging. The space makes you feel at home, and the equipment enables you to do some really unique moves. Check it out!

I LOVE doing Pilates here! Michelle is an AMAZING instructor! She motivates me to push myself, but is also happy to show me modifications.
If you have been contemplating on trying, please don't hesitate any longer and give it a try. I don't think you will be disappointed!
If it's your first time doing pilates, I would definitely recommend to do the Try On: 1 Mat + 1 Reformer.

I just took my first Reformer Pilates class at Fringe based on my partner’s recommendation and it was fantastic. Tay was welcoming, warm, and immediately made me feel comfortable. They’re a great teacher, who explained things clearly and patiently while keeping the mood light. Throughout the class I felt challenged but also supported. I’ll be back for sure- highly recommended!

What a STUNNING space in Flatbush. Felt comfortable and relaxed the moment I walked in which is super important. They do reformer/Mat Pilates and yoga so you can try out different methods. I look forward to taking more classes. Don’t sleep on this Pilates studio !!! :) :)

Fringe Pilates is so special! I'm so excited they (Tayler and the whole team) finally have a physical space. I've taken virtual classes with Tayler for a while, and I can't wait to take them IRL. I took my first class with Stephanie today and it was awesome! I will keep coming back and you should too! This space is awesome.
