Not the space for me. The teacher jess was pretty cold and rude when I asked her some questions. Very uninviting. Sequencing was far too easy, which maybe it was a beginner class but they should have that on their website. The space is lovely and everything is neat and organized.

I had a really disappointing experience at Fyre Yoga. I showed up just 2 minutes after class started, and they wouldn’t let me in. Nowhere in the booking process did it say that late arrivals aren’t allowed, which feels really unfair. The whole situation had the same kind of frustrating energy as a DMV experience — no interest in being courteous from either of the two staff members -- not what I expected from a yin yoga class.

Welcoming and inclusive space and now that it’s FYRA sooooo many more amazing types of classes !! I love all the teachers and get something different out of each one of them. The classes can be energized and active or mellow and restorative. This is the best space in the neighborhood! The 3 month fyra plus special is amazing. Join this place and feel your body and mind thank you immediately!

I booked through ClassPass, which can be strict about late changes. I showed up an hour early after coming from the Upper East Side, and Ryan(the front desk angel)found a way to fit me in. No penalty, no stress. Since it was my first visit, mats and towels were complimentary, which was a great surprise.
I didn’t realize Modo had turned into FYRA, but I’m so glad I made the trip. The studio is clean, calm, and perfectly heated; just hot enough without being overwhelming. Everyone there was kind and attentive.
Tess led the class, and she was excellent. Her cues were clear, her energy grounded, and she managed to challenge everyone while still making the space inclusive. I loved that she had us tap into all five senses at the start—it set the tone for a mindful, focused practice.
Totally worth the trip. Highly recommend both Tess and Ryan for making the experience feel personal and genuinely welcoming.

Unfortunately this isn’t the same since it was Modo though they’ve tried to lead members to believe the changes are minimal. I’ve taken close to 200 classes and for the last several weeks I’ve been unable to complete a class due to insufferable heat with no ventilation. The new instructors don’t possess the OG Modo aura and seem more like general fitness instructors. Classes begin with isolated core work versus a gentle warm up into the flow. Seems like they’re becoming just another hardcore workout studio, adding a new “Sculpt” class and rebranding the menu. Seeking a new studio in Williamsburg that captures what yoga should feel like because this isn’t it.

Not the yoga experience for me. While I enjoyed taking classes here for a brief time, I find other studios offer a greater variety/value. My largest deterrent from returning to the hot yoga classes, was the poor ventilation system. There is no relief if the class gets too hot, the fan in the studio only blows “cool” air for an incredibly brief time if the instructor chooses to turn it on. I have genuinely never come close to passing out in a heated class, though this was a real concern for me while taking classes in this space. Without having proper ventilation/heat release between classes, the studio also smelled much worse than other heated spaces I’ve taken classes in routinely

Modo Yoga Williamsburg is my favorite yoga studio in all of New York. All of the teachers are very friendly and knowledgeable, and the sessions feel like a moving meditation. The studio is spacious and you can rent just about anything you would need. I love the variety of classes they offer, I usually stick with the Modo 60 or Modo Flow and I prefer the classes with music (noted on their schedule). They have a Modo Love class once a week and I believe the proceeds are donated to a charity. They serve tea which is extra soothing after a mellow class and they have a small shop with natural oils and beauty care products. Their live plant wall is beautiful. I always leave Modo on cloud nine, the entire experience is very zen.

Yoga is great generally! But beware as they have a crazy and not transparent “be there 5 mins early” policy that they I consistently enforce. Basically a scam to try to double sell slots and charge late fees. If you’re not there 5 mins early they give away your spot even if you’re there 4 mins early. Again inconsistently and rudely.

Hands down my favourite yoga studio - and I have tried a LOT. This place has it all. Spacious, clean, beautiful spaces, so you are not crammed in close together. Changing rooms with good showers and lockers. Friendly staff. A variety of classes that are never cancelled at the last minute or constantly changing around like a lot of places. The teachers are all great. No loud, banging, shouty, classes (which I HATE) just high quality instruction, in a calming environment that is true to the real spirit of yoga but with modern twists and creative touches. This is for you if you like a little bikram, a little vinyasa, gentle freestyle flows, deep juicy yin… it also has great booking system, the app actually works, and you can reserve a spot. Perfect. I love this place!

I’ve been coming to Modo regularly for over three years and can’t say enough about this amazing place. After trying out studios all over the city, Modo is the only place where I feel that the knowledge and expertise of the teachers goes beyond the norm. The showers and locker rooms are extremely clean, the studios uncluttered and serene, the lobby has great design with an incredible plant wall, the staff friendly — all contributing to a warm and calm environment. Practitioners and teachers take the work seriously but without the competitive atmosphere of some other high end studios. It’s an accessible form, while also a great workout. The Modo style is particularly good for those with lower back issues. And the discounted “Modo Love” classes every weekday at 2pm are a great deal.

Modo is the only place I practice yoga. I’m fully obsessed with the Williamsburg location, the space is immaculate and the staff is so friendly. My favorite classes are the Modo flow 75 (with music) and the freestyle flow 75 (with music) and the classes are always fun and challenging—I leave with a puddle of sweat and it’s incredible. Some other studios have horrible heating systems, but Modo’s is top notch. All of the instructors clearly care so much about the craft and are fully invested in their students—one of my biggest pet peeves is when yoga teachers are inattentive or cannot fully engage with their yogis. Modo also has showers, merch, waters, pretty much everything you need. If you need a yoga spot in Williamsburg, there’s no other place to go besides Modo Yoga.

I love going to Modo in the early morning to start my day with a stretch and sweat. I am always welcomed kindly by the staff and the practice is a perfect way to mobilize before heading to sit all day at my desk job. My favorite classes are Modo 60 and Core Flow. Modo 60 is great for beginners as you spend more time in each of the poses and pay attention to details of the shape. As a runner I love Core Flow as both a recovery and a way to strengthen and stabilize my core. The thing I love most about Modo though is their attention to sustainability: offering reusable water bottles, compostable bags in the locker rooms and natural products in the showers, just to name a few. After my intro month, I will continue working the Modo practices into my overall fitness plan.

I recently moved from Montreal to Brooklyn, and thus made the switch from Modo Yoga Montreal to Modo Yoga NYC in Williamsburg. After practicing yoga with Modo for about 5 years now, I appreciate them on a whole new level after this recent seamless transition from one studio to the other, across two different countries. With similar classes and studio space, teachers and owners who train together and know one another, and an overall quality experience in a beautiful, welcoming (and clean!) environment - I could not be happier with my overall yoga practice. Not to mention - Modo as a whole over the years has helped me become a healthier and happier person, both in terms of my physical and mental health. Thank you Modo!

Every class I've taken at Modo has been exactly what I needed- a beautiful balance of physical challenge, meditative moments, focus on breath, good music, guidance from the teacher, and perfect heat. The staff are are incredibly kind and the space clean and beautiful. I feel powerful whenever I flow there.

Modo is my favorite yoga studio in Brooklyn. The Williamsburg studio is spacious, the staff are really friendly and the classes are always a great work-out.

I have been to both the Williamsburg and West Village locations. Please note, I am not a Yogi (I challenge you to find an individual with tighter hamstrings) but incorporating 4-5 classes a month into my overall fitness regime has been a fabulous addition. Challenging classes but I never felt intimated. Lots of different levels of fitness, a healthy mix of male and female practicers, and a variety of body types! I feel comfortable going at my own pace and following as closely as I can. Both locations are absolutely spotless, the instructors and front desk staff are kind and welcoming and the studio smells of fresh eucalyptus. Best natural high post class. Highly recommend! Start with Ying and work your way up. Hoping to improve enough to really keep up within 'Flow' classes.

Modo Yoga is perfect for anyone looking to start or sustain a yoga practice, or just dip in for a rejuvenating class! The environment is friendly, inclusive, welcoming, and calm, with people of all ages and levels of experience taking class. I've enjoyed all of their offerings, including Modo Classic, Modo Flow, Yang Yin, Yin, and their epic Sound Baths. I will definitely return to Modo on a regular basis!

Modo changed the way I relate to yoga, and to my body. I always got distracted by the music, fast/seemingly dangerous pace, and often really gendered spaces of yoga in past experiences. Modo offers silence, slow and mindful movement, and an environment that doesn't leave me feeling like I've joined some screwed up cult of girlish white womanhood. I wish I could afford to join Modo more regularly, and am considering the Energy Exchange! Really appreciate that they make that available to make the space more equitable and diverse.

So lucky that Modo is our neighborhood studio, because it's the kind of sanctuary I'd travel for. Intense workout, gorgeous studio and yet somehow accessible and welcoming every time. Every class I take I swear is the best class I've ever taken. Highly recommended.

Modo Williamsburg is by far my favorite yoga studio in the city. Not only is the space itself beautiful and serene and welcoming, every single class I have been to is phenomenal - challenging but a safe and accessible space to be yourself and explore what your body can do, patiently! The instructors are all kind and great, as well as the staff, and the price is honestly quite reasonable (and definitely worth it).

I usually go to the West Village location but this location is nicer and more spacious, with more lobby/yoga space. I think the temperature in these rooms are much hotter as well. As always, everything here was clean and the experience was wonderful.
This location has less people so it's not as crowded, while the West Village seems to be always booked during certain hours.
The only con about this place is that it's kind of far away from the train station (~10 min walk).

I love Modo yoga. I've tried other hot studios and this one is the best by far. I think the rental prices are unfair when you're paying a membership. Other than that it is such a relaxing oasis that can so much good for you inside and out.

In love. Instructors are so sweet, inspiring and happy. Studio is very clean and has a great atmosphere. The classes have you feeling good from the second you walk in till the second you walk out. Hot Yin with Sasha is my favorite class when I'm looking for a light but extremely cathartic session. Modo with Katrina and/or Josh is awesome- but really ALL instructors are amazing. I look forward to my practice every single day- I can't wait to get there! And as for the heat, after a while it becomes normal... I found myself not even noticing it after a few weeks of regular practice. Highly recommended for the ultimate yoga experience!!! Everyone there lives and breathes yoga- and isn't that the whole point?!
