Booked open gym time on classpass at this location. I have a clear reservation booked on an application that presumably they have a partnership with. I walked in, showed them my reservation and was met with apathy and them telling me that they have no idea what classpass is.

They wouldn’t let me in the gym and acted as if it was my fault. This place obviously has terrible management and has no idea what customer service is.

Went for a personal training session, Adrianna was very helpful in showing me how to hit the muscles that I asked for help focusing on, wasn't as concerned about the music while I was focusing on my training, though it could be a little more motivating, maybe techno once in awhile? The fact that staff talked to me at all is a plus, since I've been in other gyms where they'll just ignore me completely, so this was an overall good experience with the personal training staff

I have made this comment before, but it has not resulted in any change. This summer has been extremely hot, with the gym giving little relief from it. I can only use the treadmill, and there have been many days that I had to simply leave because the area where the treadmills are was so hot. Today was one of those days.

It is the worst gym ever. It has no lighting, no air conditioning, it is always an unclean place, and there are no modern equipment. I had a very disappointing experience with Glen Cove Fitness. My husband and I stopped attending the gym in January due to our move, and we began emailing in February to cancel our membership. Unfortunately, we never received any response to our emails.
Despite several attempts to resolve the issue, we were met with silence. It’s incredibly frustrating to be charged for services we haven’t used and to receive no communication in return. I would advise others to be cautious when signing up, as customer service has been unresponsive, and the billing practices have been disappointing.

I hope this issue gets resolved soon, but based on our experience, we will not be recommending this gym

I’ve been going to this gym for over 18 months now, and they recently informed me that they were upping the price of their monthly membership, which is why I’m finally writing this review.
This gym is absolutely filthy. There is a pimple patch on the ground next to the weight rack that has been there SINCE I first started going. I have never ONCE seen an employee clean the gym- they sit behind the desk on YouTube or workout but they are NEVER involved with upkeep.
Only ONE of the three sinks in the women’s bathroom works and that has ALSO been ongoing since I started 18 months ago. You would think if they’re increasing the price
There would be some sort of improvement but it looks like nothings been done. I only go to this gym because of the price but since it’s increasing I’ll probably start looking elsewhere. It’s a complete biohazard

Quite possibly the worst customer experience I have ever had with Anthony, GCF gym manager. After requesting my account to be cancelled in January considering I have moved, there was no confirmation or communication for that matter. No notice of having a balance still on my account. I then was directed to email the manager as I now have sent a total of eight (!!!) emails directly to him with no response whatsoever. I then called the gym to speak with Anthony directly and as a result, he was the opposite of help for the situation as it was nothing but a rude and fiery exchange. He claims that the balance on the account was not paid so the account could not be cancelled, however these are things that should be communicated with your customers instead of waiting it out trying to get even more money out of you. I have reached out time and time again as I will not be paying a cent after the month of January (when I originally left and requested to cancel). I have even asked for itemized invoice regarding the charges he wants to put on me, but still nothing…

The truth is that the service is very bad. I had an accident in one of their machines that are in poor condition. They did not help me as such. They also said that they were going to contact me to at least offer an apology. I asked for a complaint form. They did not give it to me and The truth is that the machines need maintenance, the place is very deteriorated, the cleanliness and the bathrooms lack hygiene.

I came here w a 1 wk guest pass. I only went 2 days. The machines are terrible and they are lacking equipment .The people that go here don’t have good gym etiquette. They spend more time on their phone than actually working out. One guy told me he was supersetting. I asked him what are you super setting your phone? Cause you been staring at it for the past 10 minutes. Another time a group of kids huddled around his friend who’s on his phone on the flat bench. Very rude people. I come to the gym to work out as quickly and efficiently as possible. I don’t have time to sit there and watch you on the phone and navigate around people because it’s a Social Club! This place is a romper room. The main problem is no rules are enforced. I think the only thing that Gym has going for it is that it’s open 24 hours four days a week.

Been here for the total amount of 14 years, First I was member of Planet Fitness and Now it's called Glen Cove Fitness, same people A n t o n y and his crew always do their best to keep the Gym clean and organized. The machines don't stay too long in the " Out of work" time. I give 5 stars because it's got what I need and I am comfortable with it.

Every business needs to improve and that's no doubt that some people will complaint or even worst gossip about the negativity of the place but one thing is true, this Gym was the only on in the city of Glen Cove to survive a Pandemic and keep everyone safe during tough times.

I just hope they never guard down on service and cleanness.

GCF has a variety of machines and free weights to choose from as well we offering personal training. You can sign up for either a 1-on-1 or a group personal training from their App or in person.

I've been going here multiple times a week since September and have always have pleasant interactions with all of their staff. The gentleman who works overnight, Joe, is especially helpful and more than willing to answer any questions you may have.

Pros: Staff is friendly, hours are long and prices are affordable. Masks are required, and they take everyone’s temp before entering.

Cons: Sanitation has lacked severely. When they first opened after corona shutdown I frequently saw staff spraying down machines/weights with sanitizing equipment.
However, in the last few month I have not seen them doing so (if they are then it’s much less frequent).

I’m confident I contracted Covid from coming here since it was the only public space I had been visiting prior to becoming sick. I do not blame the gym, as I am the one taking the risk of coming into a public space, however I do wish management would show greater intentionality of keeping the place sanitized especially during peak hours.

At the moment the premium membership is also practically useless since they unplug their massage machines

Overall this is a wonderful and affordable option once we return to normal. In the mean time, if you have particular concerns about adequate sanitation/exposure to Covid then you’ll likely have to find other alternatives.

Gotta say, it isn't like... The most fancy gym, so don't be expecting a Gold's or something. BUT they are great people, a true "judgement free zone" in my opinion. Open 24/7. Left this place when it was planet fineness, cancelled and then it turned into glen cove fitness- they have since stolen $20 per month every month since for two years- since the company that takes the payments is the same as our current gym we didn’t notice. But when we did they have since refused to refund us. Beware- complete scammers. Terrible gym anyway but knowing they dishonest is worse. They had no permission to take this money, so if you cancelled before they turned into glen cove fitness the disregarded this and continued to steal money from you. Loved the location, plenty of parking. Hours of operation Sat-Sun 7am-7pm & Fri 12Mid-9pm. Mon-Thurs 24hrs. Yes, it's even wheelchair accessible. Formerly, Planet Fitness, was listed at this location. I learn the hard way. Google previously hadn't made the change. So, I spent more time than I should have looking for a Planet Fitness, that no longer existed, never going inside the establishment to inquire. Finally, when I did, I found the staff to be, not friendly or welcoming. But, more reserved, and that was ok with me. At that point I just wanted info on a personal trainer. I gave my name and number, no one ever called me or left a mess for me to call them back. I returned to this gym months later and the gentleman at the desk was both welcoming and friendly. The gym was smaller than what I was use to. But, he pointed out the advantages of that. In addition, the gym was not lacking in the variety and number of workout equipment. Just by his professionalism, knowledge and promo offered I was sold on giving the gym a try. But, again interested in speaking with a personal trainer. I told him about my previous experience. He identified himself as the mgr and assured me someone would indeed call me. I wanted a female trainer. I left with a smile on my face from having a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, no one called or followed up in any way. I called once and left a mess. Weird, my call wasn't returned. I could have gone to the gym or called again. But, was disappointed and turned off by my experience. I am no longer interested in services of a personal trainer. But, the mgr made a good enough impression on me that I scored GC Fitness, 3 stars. Recently, I found out my friends are members of gym. They told me to give the gym another try. The gym is running a 3day pass. I submitted an email request for a pass, looking forward to trying the gym out. But, based on track record, I am bracing myself in case the opposite happens.

Aug 30,2018 update: same cheap price (don't change it.), Renovations are done, place looks great! Free wifi that actually works well. The place is kept pretty clean which is a big thing in the gym world. The staff is nice and greets you as you walk in (for the most part). I'm not impressed with the way the owner is treating some customers in other reviews (poor attitude for someone working in retail), but hopefully I don't have to deal with him/her.

Terrible Management. I have called multiple times to cancel my membership no longer live in the area. They have rolled my m,membership over from planet fitness without my consent and proceed to charge me monthly. spoke with someone who was extremely rude and told me i had to send them a letter signed requesting my cancellation with i did and was completely ignored. i will make one more attempt to contact them and cancel and request my money back which is now at $50 if not i will just contact my lawyer for this harassment.

Looks old planet fitness franchise. Big enough for work out and enough instruments. One rack of bench press is little disappointing but other than that, space between instruments and enough variation of weight. Really vast of treadmill and stepper to work out and clean restroom/shower.
Also cheap membership for $15.00/month. Other annual membership fee is exists, however for total it is reasonable gym. Close to parking lot with 2 hours free and enough space for downtown parking lot.
