I am writing to share my experience with Gold Medal Gymnastics in Huntington, which has unfortunately been very disappointing.

If a child is not considered “Olympic material,” there seems to be little attention or development offered. The less advanced classes are primarily run by teenagers who spend much of the time chatting or on their phones rather than instructing.

When my daughter first enrolled, she was very excited and eager to improve her skills. However, her experience has been discouraging. Her own words were: “I haven’t learned anything. It’s boring. They don’t spot me. They barely watch what I’m doing.”

I have raised my concerns twice. After my first complaint, the program manager did observe the class, but no real changes followed. My second complaint was not addressed at all.

At over $200 a month, this program feels more like a basic school gym class than a structured gymnastics program that fosters growth and skill-building. This is not what I expected when I enrolled my daughter.

I decided to make a public post in the hope that serious improvements can be made, as I would love for others at my daughter’s level to have a meaningful and supportive experience, but we are not returning.

I had made an earlier review based on a negative experience with one particular staff member, but after speaking with Michelle, the regional manager, I have changed my review to 5 stars.

Michelle called and listened to my complaint, offered her apologies on behalf of the organization and set up a free trial class for my girls. I was made to feel like my initial concern mattered and she wanted to make it right.

This has proven to be a positive customer experience and I have changed my overall rating. Thank you!

Ms. Doris leading the ninja class, is the best ever. So motivating and inspiring and fun. Just truly incredible. Our 3yr old and 1.5yr old attend and I can’t recommend her and the ninja class enough. Highlight of our week and she’s always included in the nightly debrief as the high of the day.

All four of my girls attend Gold Medal Gymnastics in Huntington. They absolutely love it! All the staff and coaches are fantastic! At the front desk, Sam, Jen, Matt, etc. (and all other staff) are always warm, friendly, and accommodating. We are lucky enough to work with so many great coaches - Michele, Dario, Jess, Lindsay, Juliette, Val, Maria, etc. They have all supported to their growth and development in so many ways. My girls have all grown so much in the last few months they have been attending. My two youngest daughters are currently enrolled in Super Silvers, and my two oldest daughters are currently in IGC.

Recently, we had such a wonderful experience at the Fun Meet hosted by Gold Medal Gymnastics at LIU! Our twin daughters, Milania and Vienna, had an absolute blast participating in all four events—vault, floor, beam, and bars. This was their very first meet, and the entire experience was incredibly positive and supportive.

The coaches and staff created such an encouraging environment—there were no scores, just smiles, cheers, and uplifting comments. It was clear the focus was on building confidence, having fun, and celebrating each child’s effort.

We left with two very proud little gymnasts who can’t wait to do it again. Thank you for putting on such a thoughtful and self-esteem-boosting event! Thank you to all the staff at Gold Medal for all of their help and hard work putting together such an incredible event!

We recently celebrated my daughter’s 8th birthday at GOLD Medal gym, and it was an absolutely amazing experience! The staff was incredibly accommodating and worked wonderfully with the kids, making sure everyone had a fun and safe time. They also made our guests feel welcomed and engaged throughout the party. From start to finish, the event was seamless and full of energy. I would highly recommend GOLD Medal for any birthday party—it’s the perfect place for a memorable celebration!

As a parent, I entrusted your camp staff with my child's care and expected a positive and nurturing environment, but unfortunately, our experience fell short of this expectation. My daughter was subjected to unkind treatment by your staff when she showed reservations about entering camp today. She is a pre-k learner, and as a facility that works with gymnasts in this age group, I am completely disheartened to learn that your staff mishandled her becoming a bit nervous and upset and escalated the situation into one that required her to sit in the office and wait for me to pick her up. She was privy to a conversation that your front office staff had, where she was verbally labeled "aggressive and needed to be picked up." Your camp director did confirm that she did NOT put her hands on any other children or staff members and that she was only upset – not aggressive. Upon picking her up, I witnessed a child being escorted back into the camp and being asked “will you be keeping your hands to yourself now?” When attempting to understand the camp's position on this decision, your camp director told me she was too busy to understand the situation by stating: "I don’t know the whole situation and I have a million other things going on here". I am deeply disappointed in the lack of social-emotional support your staff provided to campers today.

All children deserve to have a safe and enjoyable camp experience and I expected that the rising cost of camp from last year to this year allowed you to secure staffing as well as professional development that supports your staff in understanding the social-emotional needs in children of all age groups. We will no longer be giving you our business, and we will recommend to other families to steer clear of your business as well.

WE LOVE GMGC HUNTINGTON! My daughter has been a member of bronze babies for a whole year, and I will continue and stay with GMGC throughout her future gymnastics career. They have been so warm, welcoming, and accomodating.

Matt is an amazing operations manager & always such a pleasure to see as the face of GMGC HUNTINGTON right when you walk in, then Miss Bianca, who had taken over in the middle of our membership in Bronze Babies has completely changed the program to be so amazing and my daughter is learning and thriving, and loves her very much!!!!!!

Thursday night our daughter is so excited for Friday morning. Why you ask? Because Friday morning is her gymnastics class!
We have been bringing our daughter to Gold Medal gymnastics since last fall. She loves every second and enjoys each instructors expertise. With the recent renovations and upgrades, Gold Metal continues to impress! Highly recommend !!

We’ve been at gold medal for 3 years now, It’s my sons favorite. I’ve tried other sports or ninja places but he really only has interest in this. I’ve seen a huge improvement in his core strength, confidence, & independence. The place was recently renovated and it’s so clean and beautiful inside. We had my sons 5th party in October and the staff set up, ran the party, and cleaned up effortlessly. It was really a no stress party. Everyone had fun and all his friends wanted to come back. Highly recommend this location!

2 teachers cannot handle 8 kids. While they are busy with one student the other 7 are fooling around as if they were at the playground. I've asked staff many times to keep them busy with something useful in this case. I hear 'yes' each time but nothing changed within the last 2 months. Then the teacher told them to do push ups without teaching them how to do push ups. It all looked ridiculous. I have a feeling that we are wasting time here. I guess I will start teaching my child gymnastics based on YouTube tutorials until I find a good school. My friend from Canada signed her daughter up with Russian gymnastics school. In 3 months they learned how to do negative split. They do real job over there. Unfortunately there are no Russian gymnastic schools on long island.

This place is the real deal for gymnastics training. I have two kids here and they both love it. The only reason I can’t give it 5 stars is because it drains my pockets like a blood sucking vampire lol! 😌.

My daughter (now 8) has been taking classes here for a year and a half - started in rec and is now in accelerated and back handspring class. The gym is large and has plenty of well-maintained equipment, and my daughter loves going and getting better. Some coaches are clearly better than others, but that's true with anything. The major downside is how crowded it gets - literally every square foot of gym space is being used at all times and the groups can be large, which also makes it difficult to actually speak to a coach about how your kid is doing.

This is a real gymnastics school. I send my 3-year old daughter there, and the classes are cleverly crafted that while age appropriate, teaches them real gymnastics skills. This is not so much a kids entertainment place as a real gymnastics education. I have been very impressed with the teachers, especially Miss. Tina, who has an incredible disposition and is a great teacher. They do have "camps" here on school off-days, which are very convenient. The only reason I gave this 4 rather than 5 stars is that this place is very busy, very full, and sometimes feels a bit hectic. The classes are also comparatively expensive with other kids activities (like ballet/soccer/arts, etc). All in all, though, I think that the teaching and gymnastics training is pretty stellar for the young kids age group. I do not know about older kids (yet).

Nice facility & staff (mostly). However, front desk attitude immediately changes the minute you say you have a Groupon. Now, they "have to see if they have space" and others who pay full price will have priority, bumping you out. This can pose an issue for the Groupon expiry. Also if your child ever took a camp or party here they won't accept the Groupon.
