I’ve been a member at many different gyms, from bigger chains to family owned, but this Gold’s is the worst I’ve ever joined. The equipment is all old, rusted, and falling apart, and you can’t even read the weight for many machines since the labels have come off. The flooring is uneven and you can trip on it folding over itself. Most of the front desk staff are unhelpful and unwelcoming. Other members throw dumbbells down obnoxiously or stand around in groups surrounding equipment. It’s a very unwelcoming environment for women as I’ve overheard very disrespectful conversations about women from other members despite wearing earbuds. This is not true for all members, but the overwhelming culture is not a pleasant environment. I’m counting the days until I can leave this contract, working out used to be my favorite part of the day.

I truly love working out here. And I love the people they have working at the front desk. It’s seems like such a small role, but the people at the front desk remember your name, ask you how your day is, and remember the little thing about you! They are so personable, I look forward to talking to Lisa the most. She knows my favorite shake and makes it perfect everytime!

I stopped by In hopes to speak with someone from membership to discuss gym memberships. I’m barely greeted by 2 young kids that seem to be more interested on being on their phones and laptop than talking to me. The girl. Said Hi! I said Hi back and she went back to her laptop. I said I would like to speak with someone from membership, she simply replied No one is here! and went back to her laptop and I walked out. She did not bother to ask if I needed anything? If she could help me? Maybe take my information. NOTHING!! Maybe this gym doesn’t need new members. Extremely annoyed with the lack of customer service in this place. Do better Golds!

Bars are bent , platforms have craters deeper than the moon , plates and bumpers are all chewed up . Looks like all their equipment is offloaded from local high schools and other gyms that upgraded, kinda sad . Dirty and everything is too close together some even dangerously too close . Needs new management and possibly a new owner who actually knows what equipment to buy and how a gym should be ran . There’s other career choices out there

I was visiting the Fishkill area and wanted to check out local gyms. A friend who is a Gold’s Gym member told me I could easily get a free guest pass online. Nowhere on the website did it mention that guest pass usage was restricted to certain hours beyond the regular operating hours.

I arrived at the Fishkill location at 5 AM, only to be told I couldn’t use my pass until 8 AM because there was no one available to check me in. However, the staff member then told me I could pay $20, and she would be able to check me in—this made no sense. If she had the authority to charge my card and grant access, why couldn’t she check me in as a guest?

Frustrated, I called the Poughkeepsie Gold’s Gym, where the staff member immediately confirmed that this was not standard Gold’s policy. She invited me to come to the Poughkeepsie location, where she had no issue honoring the guest pass. I wish I had just gone there in the first place, as my trip to Fishkill was a complete waste of time.

If you value professionalism, customer service, and knowledgeable staff, avoid the Fishkill location.

Go to all sport instead. Went here for almost a year, never complained about a thing although there were many things to complain about. Just cancelled and they charged me unaccepted fees and were very rude, so nows a good time. Locker room is dirty consistently with pubes in the showers and mold on the walls, steam room has never worked, sauna is on 1/10 times you want to use it. Speed bag is never inflated. Weights are old and rusty, machines are not maintained. Staff consistently has hostile looks on their face. Gets very crowded, not enough space, always a broken machine somewhere. Go to all sport, cheaper or same price for a better facility.

i go to another gym and not sure if i’m going to switch gyms, so i went on their website to get a day pass and when i told the lady at the front desk she said they don’t accept day passes at this location. if that’s the case, please take it off your website as that’s false advertising. had to pay the $20 day-pass fee regardless. i do like the gym as it’s bigger than my current gym so although there were a lot of people there, it wasn’t too overcrowded.

Didn’t hold up to my expectations of “golds gym” it’s in a run down plaza, the dumbells are old and rusted. The bench weights are all mismatched brands and the gym equipment there is rusting. The temperature is so hot in the gym it makes it hard to exercise and the bathrooms are dirty. Upsetting how they charge $42 a month! Pics are included. Gave 2 stars for nice staff.

This Gold’s is ENORMOUS. It has all the fun toys - tons of equipment. The kind of gritty machines they don’t make anymore but you wish they did. Mixed w all the modern turf, tires, bells, balls etc etc. the front staff was so helpful and super friendly. I love the vibe of this gym soooo much.

This gym is hot as blazes in the summer and no better than Planet Fitness, but I pay the much higher fee for the convenient location. For the ~2 years I have been using this gym, it has been open til 10 on Fridays. The sign on the front door reads open til 10 on Fridays. My run was just abruptly interrupted at 9 because “they just changed it,” and now close at 9 on Fridays. No email notification to paying members. I count on my run. Not pleased.

I went there twice as a guest and I was turned off by the broken faucet handle in the men's bathroom and the clogged urinal that doesn't flush. It was that way first time I went and neither one was repaired five months later. In addition, the music that's piped throughout the gym is too teenybopper and much too loud, especially upstairs on the mezzanine. It's redundant, everyone is wearing earbuds.

I called to put my membership on hold due to the pandemic, I am in my mid 60s my husband has health issues, did not receive an email they were starting to automatically bill for September 2020 since they just opened, told me can't do anything about it, not helpful, pretty much not my problem, I cancelled my membership instead of hold for 6 months due to the attitude. Very cleanly. A lot of people no matter what time it is in my opinion. I’ve been around 10,12, 3, 9,10,11pm. They have all that anyone needs to workout. The only thing I would critique would be that the lady’s gym needs a stair master. The sauna in ladies locker room should be hot regardless the time of day. It’s usually off and you need to turn on about 15-30 mins before using. I’m not used to older equipment and this gym is about half old, half new age equipment.

There’s a kid club and my daughter got hurt twice on two different occasions. Other than that, there’s a rock wall, basketball court and play area which seems to be clean.

They also have smoothies and snacks up front. Prices aren’t too bad. Smoothies ok, not the freshest.

Cancelling Membership is next to impossible. ABC Financial is useless. Membership Staff is clueless. Gym is filled with muscle-heads. Used to be a nice gym. Now it is in disrepair and sort of low budget. Locker rooms are musty and dirty. I was a member for 10 years. Glad I dropped the membership.

The equipment is dangerous, all three benches are lop sided making it extremely hard to maintain stability and balance when performing a lift. Last week I witnessed a thirty pound weight break off the handle almost falling on a women's head. Every single bar is noticeably bent (even the rogues) to the point where ones grip slips, or the bar rolls off the back easily. All the 10-45 pound plates are rubber and severely torn apart. This is not a matter of exercising incorrectly, this is professional negligence.

Was scammed for 2 years of billing, talked to management, and was told my membership would be taken care of, happened to notice my checking account being billed for over 2 years, called Bank and they refunded me 2 months. Mandatory 1 star for any given review? Never knew there was a floor for a business review. If 0 stars were an option, then I certainly would have done so.

Business ethics is not one of Gold's few strengths, nor is their accounting tendencies. Gold's has shown an extraordinary lack of respect to my friends and I, regarding a major accounting dispute.

Management skills are absent from the business as a whole, in that their communication and accounting tendencies are legally and ethically questionable.

But, there is no question about it, Gold's is Chum Bucket of fitness facilities.

I strongly suggest all prospective members to analyze any other options available.
