My wife and I have been training with Vinny for more than a year now. There's a reason we've stuck with him and make every opportunity to make it to his class on Fridays at CKO Carroll Gardens even though there's options closer to our home in Bay Ridge. Vinny is knowledgeable, patient, motivating, and an all around GREAT teacher! He's not just looking to make you sweat and kick your butt. He's teaching you about what you're doing, how you're doing it, but most importantly WHY you're doing it. Don't get me wrong, you will sweat and Vinny will encourage you to give your best but he's also imparting knowledge so you're getting technique as well as conditioning. I'm grateful we found his class and recommnend everyone interested to find their way to one of his classes!

I’ve been training with Vinny for about a year now, and I have to say he’s probably one of the best coaches I’ve worked with. He’s always extremely positive and motivating during training sessions and knows how to walk the line between pushing you to overcome your limits without putting you at risk of injury or over-training. Plus, his martial arts knowledge is first-rate, and I really appreciate his emphasis on being mindful of real-world self defense scenarios even while training for competition rulesets.
Thanks in large part to Vinny’s coaching, I’m now training for my first amateur muay thai competition, which requires me to cut 12lbs to make weight. I’ve made my own diet plans before for other sports, so I thought I could do the same here, but my first draft left me far too drained to train at my usual pace.
Vinny noticed I was struggling and worked with me to identify the problems in the plan I had originally built. I thought I had a decent understanding of nutrition before, but he clued me in to a ton of mistakes and misconceptions that I was totally oblivious to. The end result was a diet that was far tastier and more energizing than what I had come up with before, while still keeping me on track to make my fight weight. Even after he fixed my diet, he would still check in with me on the regular to ask how I was feeling and how my weight descent was going in case modifications were needed.
Long story short, Vinny is an extremely solid coach who knows how to help people achieve their fitness goals. Even if you’re already an experienced athlete, there’s a lot you can learn from this guy.

Coach Vinny is a great martial arts coach and a knowledgeable nutritionist. His classes help you to get a great workout while also sharpening your technique. We recently worked together to come up with a nutrition plan leading up to a kickboxing tournament I fought in. Thanks to his help, I was able to make the weight limit easily without starving or draining myself, refuel after weigh-ins with the proper hydration and foods, and correctly hydrate between fights. I was able to fight and win 4 times in 2 days without any physical issues in large part thanks to Coach Vinny's help.

I met Vinny at the start of the year through this work as a Muay Thai instructor and from the moment I met him I knew he not only had great energy but provided a wealth of knowledge for both inside and outside of the ring.
I recently had my first amateur fight and Vinny’s full knowledge as a dietitian was on display as he helped me through my weight cut and refueling plans. Vinny worked with me to understand my current diet, exercise and training regiment and tailored a plan specific to my needs as a combat sort athlete. He provided a thoughtful break down of daily meals including macros, substitutes and options based on what foods were accessible to me, my likes and dislikes, and most importantly, yielded results.
He detailed not only the how of the plan but the why, so as opposed to blindly flowing instructions he made sure to educate me so I understood the process and what it meant for my body. And was always available to answer and questions I had at every step of the way.
We had daily checkins during fight week to make sure I was hitting my goals, and adjusting the plan to my body’s needs and I was able to successfully weigh in spot on target. Afterwards we jumped into his meticulously laid out refueling plan which included the quantities and timing of what to intake to make sure I stepped into the ring feeling energized, light and not fatigued.
Beyond his expertise as a martial artist, coach, and dietitian. One of Vinny’s best qualities (and why I love working with the guy) is he actively works to create a great sense of community with everyone he works with. He was there all smiles and Hi-5s when I won my match, same as the first day I met him. He’s a class act with vibrant energy, dedicated to what he loves and sharing his expertise with those around him.

He is incredibly dedicated, focused, and invested in his students. For my third amateur Muay Thai fight, I consulted Vinny not only for his Martial Arts knowledge but also for his expertise as a Registered Dietitian (RD). I have taken in-person training as well as virtual and I enjoyed them both. He pushes me to get to the next level and encourages me in the process. After taking his class, I feel exhausted but in a good way. I also feel energized and encouraged.
He pays close attention to where you are in terms of experience/skills and personalize training based on that. That is why I keep taking his classes. I never get bored training with him because it's always different and the routine/combination grows with you.

Vinny is a superb trainer. I've had some personal training at various points in my life, but Vinny's one-to-one sessions are above the rest... By a mile. First, the kickboxing technique is unmatched. He's constantly teaching you, and noticing everything about the way you move and react. I feel like I'm constantly learning from him. And, he's great at keeping it upbeat. They're hard workouts but they're also fun and gratifying because I've noticed myself get better with technique over time.
Second, I also really like that he brings in his health, fitness and nutritional background into everything he teaches. He's a very smart guy, and knows that everyone he teaches needs tailored coaching that's right for them. Some days I might be doing more conditioning work because he knows I need it, and others it's more technique. Nothing about how he teaches is formulaic, and that's why I keep going back. It always feels new and I can see and feel progress. He's a great trainer, a great friend, and I couldn't recommend a better guy to bring your fitness and training to another level.

I have had four training sessions and I am always looking forward to it especially during the summertime. Personally, I’m not a big fan of gym but I want to work out for better health and for fun! Training with Vinny is one of the few exercise I enjoy so much. I’m ‘exhausted ‘ during training ( I like it) but I always feel stronger and more energetic after the training. Vinny is a very professional coach and more importantly, I like how he design the class to be individualized and diverse, you’ll never feel bored and time flies during training!

Vinny is an amazing coach! I’ve trained with him for close to 3 years now. He’s great in person and virtually, is super engaging and fun and will push you to your limits to be better. He’s adaptable and a great coach whether you’re a beginner or more advanced.

Working with Vinny has been fantastic. He has integrated my personal fitness goals with basic kickboxing instruction. Not an easy feat when training remotely!
More specifically he’s been good about nudging me to stay on top of my “homework” while upping the regiment at an appropriate pace. He has shown great patience with his kickboxing intro and strong encouragement when it finally clicks.
