Harlem Kettlebell Club is the first and only kettlebell specific studio in Harlem. We provide group classes, personal training and workshops surrounding this particular modality. Our facility will also allow independent trainers to rent space to host classes, small group training, and private sessions.

So after a long time of stalking the social media page I decided to finally join. Now the promotion got me in there...all the way from Westchester but the educational workouts, good vibes and music and extreme diversity kept me there. This place is a gem and they know it. Classes fill up for a reason. Who doesnt love a place where the coach is willing to get up at the crack of dawn and train u in the same capacity as these places that choose to accommodate themselves and not the client. 6am er... always left feeling stronger and accomplished 💪🏾

The owner, Jah facilitated a self defense class in partnership with Coach Rich and Julie. The class was informative and engaging. Rich and Julie were fantastic instructors and we all walked away feeling better prepared to protect ourselves should we ever need to. The facility was clean and welcoming. 10/10 experience.

I cannot express my gratitude for the team and community at Harlem Kettlebell Club. I am in-between moving, and they have an unlimited 2 week special that was perfect for me. If I was staying in the city, I would continue to come here! I’m sad to be leaving. Thank you team for making training challenging and fun. This place is the real deal. I am a mom just getting back into fitness, which felt like a huge mental challenge in addition to being a physical challenge. I've been coming for about two months 4-5 days a week, and the trainers are amazing, the classes are varied, challenging and fun, and the community is diverse and super supportive. All the trainers are pre and post natal certified. What's more, Harlem Kettle Club is locally owned and operated, and does a lot of community-focused events and activities, meaning that by working out here you're investing in your neighborhood rather than in one of the corporate chains tearing it up. Highly recommend!

This place is truly amazing! I’ve been a weight machines at a budget gym person for the 5 years I’ve lived in the area and never felt inclined to pay for fitness classes. I started out at HKBC with the intro client offer about 7 months ago and was immediately totally hooked! Carlos does a fantastic job with the kettlebell basics classes, which are a great place to get started. I’ve taken lots of different classes at this point and all the coaches have been excellent. I really like how using kettlebells is a new skill and way of moving to focus on and get better at, but ultimately you get the hang of it pretty quickly. I also appreciate that you choose the amount of weight to use for each exercise, which makes the classes accessible and as challenging as you’d like. HKBC is a lovely and warm community and the coaches immediately learn your name and any modifications you may need. Check it out!

I was looking for a gym where I could develop a solid strength training plan after falling off of my running/strength routine for about a year. Loved it here right away! The coaches are friendly, professional and well-accredited, but most importantly present and focused on helping you perform your best! The programs are challenging but without any over complicated/unnecessary movement patterns (you know the type.. jumping/twisting all over the place for no reason). The classes are a great size, more akin to small group personal training. Have been really happy with how quickly I began regaining strength with their programs. On top of great classes and coaching, there’s a really nice community who works out here. Good group of people who keep it fun, encourage each other and work out as a team. I am super happy I found HKBC and encourage anyone who wants to start (or continue building!) their fitness regimen to check it out!

I love training at Harlem Kettlebell Club. The coaches are all so kind and knowledgeable, the programming is excellent and fun, and the community is extremely supportive. The clientele is very diverse: in every class, you’ll find people of all different backgrounds, ages, experience levels, body types, gender identities, etc., and the result is a super inclusive, supportive environment. In addition to learning and improving thanks to the expertise of the coaches, I’ve learned so much from my fellow classmates, and am consistently inspired by them (in particular, the women who train here are INCREDIBLE).
I also want to thank the HKBC team for their support during my pregnancy. When I learned I was pregnant this past summer, even though he was on parental leave himself at the time, Jah set up a phone call with me so we could talk through what I needed to know about training while pregnant. Talk about going above and beyond for your clients! He also shared that he was requiring all the HKBC coaches to complete a pre- and post-natal fitness certification, and they achieved this by the end of 2024! The coaches have been so kind and supportive, being sure to check in on me and offer modifications when necessary (special shout out to Carlos here, who always comes prepared with a list of modification options whenever he sees that I’ve signed up for class!). I have felt that my safety and my baby’s safety have been a top priority, and it’s been amazing to be able to maintain my strength and skills (as much as possible) during my pregnancy so far. I’m so grateful to have the support of the HKBC coaches and community during this time!

I was looking for a gym to get back into doing kettlebell workout. I haven’t done it in years! I signed up for the new client promo and I love the workouts. The coaches, Trell, Gaby and Wellington, all have pushed and encouraged me during the workout classes. The coaches are very patient with me, and were very helpful and knowledgeable! I’ve been going to Harlem Kettlebell Club for about 2.5 months now and have had a wonderful experience. I’ve felt welcomed, comfortable, and supported. Carlos is an incredible instructor and fosters such an encouraging and collaborative environment, and it keeps me going back - and wanting to go back more!
Highly recommend for folks who may feel uncomfortable or not vibe in larger open gyms. Instructors are fantastic at scaling for varying skill levels in classes so you’ll be challenged but not struggling to keep up with everyone else in class.

I've been a member of this place for the past two years and cannot recommend this gym enough. It has down-to-earth neighborhood vibes, the coaches are dedicated and motivating, they have various classes for different levels, and the people who go here are so positive and accepting. Classes are small enough where you feel you're not just another cog in the wheel, and coaches know how to work with you appropriately to achieve your goals. Everyone is supportive and it's such an inclusive space. I would highly recommend anyone sign up for a class - this is truly a special place!

Excellent group class-based exercise gym. They feature one-hour classes mostly based on kettlebells plus some barbells as well as some other themes (boxing, kickboxing) each led by one coach. The coaches are all friendly and experienced. I've been going for about 5 months. Even though I have a decent gym in my building, attending the group classes keeps me motivated and pushing myself instead of copping out, which would be easier. It helps me pursue my health and fitness goals. I'm so grateful that this community is in my neighborhood.

I first stepped foot in Harlem Kettlebell Club in late 2022, but I became a regular in 2023, and now I go 3-4 times a week consistently. HKC has truly become the fitness community I didn’t know I needed. The instructors each bring their own style, meeting you where you are while still challenging you to grow stronger every class.
But what truly makes HKC special is the support and camaraderie—both inside and outside of the club. When you work out here, you’re not just benefiting yourself; you’re contributing to a community that lifts each other up (literally and figuratively lol). Whether you’re new to kettlebells or experienced, HKC makes you feel welcome, motivated, and part of something bigger. I can’t recommend it enough!

I love it here! I love feeling strong and love getting stronger! Every opportunity I get, I hype this gym up or try to get one of my co-workers/ friends to come to a class with me. Each coach has their own style. All of them meet you where you are no matter where you are in your fitness journey. The gym is inclusive of all bodies, ages, and abilities. I tried out a beginner’s kettlebell class through PPW after being cleared to workout after an ankle sprain at the end of January 2024. I wanted to see what it was about. I have never really thought about weights before but wanted to see what the class was about. The class was taught by the owner, Jah and I enjoyed the class. I found out I was much stronger than I thought. After that I started going regularly to skills and drills and bells and mobility. I have to say the entire team of instructors are amazing and so is the community. I haven’t gotten so much stronger and I’m always being challenged. It’s been almost a year now and I can’t imagine my cross-training/strength training not being at HKC. The gains I’ve made has been from the incredible team of instructors and the support of the other students as well.

I have had the pleasure of training with a variety of the trainers at the Harlem Kettlebell Club. In each session, there is a warm and inviting culture from the coaches and the students. I am still recovering from an ACL repair, so I have a plethora of questions per session. Each trainer takes their time to understand my circumstances, then provide me with the necessary supports to set me up for success (wrist wrapping, modifications, private check-ins, water…). I thoroughly appreciate how attentive, professional, and knowledgeable all of the trainers are at the club. It is clear that the Harlem Kettlebell Club is a safe space for people at any level of their fitness journey. I highly recommend becoming a member of the Harlem Kettlebell Club’s family! 10/10

Highly recommend for a great workout! I was not someone that worked out regularly, but the coaches and programming at HKC made my workouts more enjoyable and consistent. After 2-3 months of classes, I saw substantial improvements in strength, mobility, and mindset. If this is your first time, you can't go wrong with any of the classes - each coach/program has their own style and you'll learn something different from each of them.

The coaches, the community, the classes - all 10/10, you guys are doing amazing. I am not a traditional “fitness enthusiast” but every time I come in, 1. I want to come in more often and 2. Am so pleasantly reminded of how supportive the instructors are, always encouraging people of all levels in the most positive way. I think it’s wonderful that the community is so diverse (age, body, race, capabilities), the environment welcomes in everyone and i love that feeling every time I come in.
Also want to give a big shoutout to the unglamorous administrative work — from the website, to the booking system, to fixing errors or accommodating requests, it’s some of the most seamless experiences I have had with gym classes.

Love this gym! I was looking for a strength-training class in the neighborhood. Every instructor has a different flavor and take with classes, but every class has a fun, positive, supportive, and welcoming vibe. You can pick up wherever you are. The classes do a good job of meeting where you're at, and it attracts a great group of different ages and fitness levels, so you have a blast getting stronger with other folks. The instructors are all knowledgeable and teach you a lot about taking care of your body, proper form, and how to get the most out of your workout. I started coming to HKC 3 months ago because I was looking for a change of pace from just going to a traditional gym. And I am so glad I did.
Instructors: All of the instructors I have taken are super professional, teach proper technique, push you to get a great workout and help you progressively get stronger and more confident.
Studio Space: The studio is small but it is well thought out, there is a lot of equipment (bars, Kettelbells, mats, other accessories) and a changing room and bathroom. So it really has everything you need
Classes: I usually take the classes at 7am and I love how each day there is a lot of variety in the exercises but still building on foundational movements. I used to do CrossFit and the workouts at HKC are a good functional mix of Strength Building, Mobility, and HIIT.
Community: one of the things that brings me back is the community. You will definitely make friends and build a network of people who will hold you accountable, push you to meet your goals, make you laugh during the workout. The coaches and the member are all great. Each class is capped at 15 or so members so you always get personal attention and with the small group you really get close with the members.
Workouts: the workouts are tailored to all fitness levels. When I first started I struggled with the movements and the coaches were quick to make modifications and help me build up strength. Most of the workouts have a dynamic warmup, a hiit component and a weight lifting/strength component.
I highly recommend this studio. Definitely check it out. It is worth every penny.

I'm a newbie to HKBC. I took one skills and drills class with Kamran. I really appreciate the modifications due to some pain that I have. I also appreciate the guidance and explanations to improve form. It was a great workout where I felt challenged (and sore for a few days) and I didn't feel like I hurt myself! Looking forward to more classes in 2023!

I had the pleasure of visiting HKC while in New York and what a special place it is. As well as intelligent trainers who know their stuff, there is a real sense of community and it feels like a family has been built. The absolute best gym uptown (anywhere really!) You will get an amazing workout while learning technique and skill with the Kettlebell. Each of the coaches has their own unique way of teaching and programming - so every single class is different and challenging. The club not only supports its members but the Harlem community that built it. I don’t leave many reviews but, I had to leave one for HKC.
I am new to working out and was very nervous and apprehensive, I almost didn’t make it to the first class. I am sooooo happy I did. Everyone is so supportive and the environment truly has a family like feel. I have learned so much about strength training and most importantly MYSELF. I was introduced to kettlebells before pregnancy and truly enjoyed it. So when I heard about this place opening up in the neighborhood (finally!), I was truly ecstatic. I've only worked out with three of the trainers and they have been nothing short of amazing. They're attentive to form and technique all while being very encouraging. Don't be afraid of kettlebells, you can get in a great workout with them all while building your strength. So definitely check this place out even if you're just curious. Definitely recommend. HKB is where you can get strength training and cardio workout at the same time. There's a wide variety of classes, something for everyone. The coaches point out form , explain the workouts thoroughly and demonstrate the moves.The workouts are challenging yet we have a good time in the process. There's all size and weights of bells so if you're new or advanced with kettlebells you'll find the perfect bell. I love Harlem Kettlebell Club and the studios concept in its entirety; it's comprised of diverse and knowledgeable Coaches each with different training/instruction styles but one common goal - an informative, FUN, intense, and engaging group workout - tailored to your specific fitness level. The website is easy to navigate and classes are described in an unassuming way with a quick overview as to which fitness level(s) the class caters to. Jah has always had a way of making very intimidating workouts seem 'doable' in how he relays and teaches them so its no wonder the other coaches are similar in that regard. There are numerous pricing plans to choose from in addition to a New Member Trial which I implore everyone to try. The class times range from bum-crack dawn to PM and the studio has changing spaces, mats, chalk, wipes, a water cooler and emergency feminine toiletries should they be needed.

The staff is very knowledgeable! I have a fitness background but had no experience with kettlebells. I took Ian and Kareem’s classes! Ian was very explicit with his instruction and broke it down when necessary, which was great for me since I am a visual learner. He would also modify for those who needed it, or challenge those who were more experienced! As for Kareem, most of the classes there were more experienced people in class when I went, therefore he was able to push us and challenge us! All positive vibes and great classes!
