i just love this place! i've been practicing yoga at home for a while but always felt a little hesitant to go to any classes. the vibe here is great, all the instructors i've had the pleasure of practicing with are so welcoming and kind. Nikki's warm vinyasa class on Wednesdays and Fridays is my favorite, but I love restorative and kirtan when I can fit them into my schedule. i can't recommend this studio enough!!!

I discovered HP Yoga Shala on a visit to Lake Placid in Dec-23. It is such a welcoming and comfortable studio for drop-in classes. The teachers are wonderful and the other student are very warm and welcoming. It's great to have the opportunity to continue my practice whenever I visit the area. If you're looking for a yoga studio while in the High Peaks, this is the place to go!

I genuinely wish I had discovered HP Yoga Shala sooner for every time I've gone, it's been a beautiful and impactful experience. I'm impressed with the diversity of classes that the cozy sanctuary provides as well as the peace and empowerment it brings to the sweet community that are welcomed and cherished there. The space provides a peaceful hug no matter where you are on your journey and I genuinely felt accepted into a community here. I've branched out to try different forms of yoga: some faster flows as well as slow and restorative, some angelic singing and instruments paired with movement, even trying tai chi for skiing which was unique, humbling, fun, and really beneficial in my outside life in more than one way. (There's plenty more I haven't explored yet too.) They are always striving to improve and provide a safe space for the community to learn, grow, energize, and cultivate peaceful love. I so look forward to mediation classes coming soon, more zesty & soothing yoga, and most importantly Connection - not only mind, body, & soul but with other beautiful people in the community. Thank you HP Yoga Shala for creating this magical gem, see you soon!

Great experience! I'm not a big yoga person but decided to try a class with Nikki . I couldn't do half the poses so she was there to give alternative positions all the way through....thank you for that! The atmosphere was cozy too. I'll be back!

I've been coming to this studio for years! From the moment you step through the door, you're greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that instantly puts you at ease.

Each of the instructors are true experts in their craft. Their knowledge of yoga philosophy, anatomy, and various styles is evident in every class. Whether you're a seasoned yogi or a beginner, the instructors make everyone feel welcome and supported. They guide you through each pose with clear instructions, encouraging adjustments, and a genuine passion for the practice.

The class variety is impressive, catering to all levels and preferences. From energizing Vinyasa flows to restorative Yin sessions, there's something for everyone. The schedule is accommodating, making it easy to fit a class into even the busiest of days.

I am grateful to have found such a gem in Lake Placid!

Came to town after a long drive and needed a good stretch to say the least. I arrived a little late but Sarah was very welcoming and then taught a really great and well rounded class! I left way better than going in. I’ll be back!

Wonderfully calming vibe. Sarah (instructor) was great. She did an amazing sound meditation during shavasana at the end of class - played an instrument and sung - really took me to a different place. Beautiful. Studio is centrally located in Lake Placid, and it’s easy to drop in if you’re just visiting the area. Parking is free.

I thought I had been to good yoga classes, and then I went to The Yoga Tree. From the second you walk into the studio, to the moment you step off the mat, the energy is amazing. Robin and the other instructors are wonderful about offering modifications to allow for all different ability levels. Would highly recommend The Yoga Tree!
