Just moved back to Long Beach and joined last week. Was a member a long time ago and they did a lot of upgrades. Super clean and lots of machines. Little pricey but worth it. Firstly, gym is routinely pretty dirty and the pool access is non existent (practically always closed)

I went there and paid $90 for initial access in January with a guarantee from the head of account management that I would only be paying $40 a month when I returned in the summer. Conveniently enough for them, they had no memory of my membership only 5 months later and refused to even speak to me about it - incredibly rude staff. Their best offer was a 3 month package upwards of $250.

Can’t believe people still go here with the abundance of significantly better options for a fraction of the price.

I was there a few weeks ago and dumbbells were all over the place, I couldn't find anything. People were arguing about machines, it was so crowded. I decided I wanted to do personal training, I met with a man named Steven, who was excellent and was getting me all set up for an assessment the following week. And then he disappeared. I spoke to another personal trainer at the gym and they had no idea that he was no longer working there. It seems that the whole gym is a mess. The Personal Trainer I spoke to was nice, but did not seem like she looked very experienced when I watched her with her client, so that was a real turn off. So it's definitely not the gym for me. I don't know who runs that place, but I'm definitely going to look somewhere else.

Hollywood Health Club is a little pricier than other gyms in the area, but you get what you pay for. When I go to the gym, I go to work out, get healthy, and set my mind right for the rest of the day. I do not go to watch old women (who are my mother's age, if not my grandmother's age) hit on men young enough to be their sons & grandsons, create drama scenes, put on fashion shows in their own minds with trashy clothes that went out in 1985, and try to have catfights with other women about who can sleep with which member. (My former gym's reputation for such beastly women is, apparently, well-known on "the gym circuit.")

I pay for quality, and I get quality: quality equipment (thank you for always making sure it works), quality amenities (thank you for keeping the bathrooms clean), and quality members (thank you, again, for being like me and keeping the equipment clean). There's plenty of parking, an outdoor space to work out in when the weather is nicer, good amounts of weights and aerobics equipment, and - best of all - ABSOLUTELY ZERO DRAMA.

This is a grown-up gym for classy people of the highest caliber. I hope it stays that way.

I'm actually impressed with this gym so far. All new equipment, always clean, and I can always find space to workout on my own. They are currently redoing the shower area and it looks amazing! My only real complaint is that the staff leaves the sauna door open after cleaning. It's very irritating to have to wait until it warms up again. Staff is super friendly, and have actually made some good friends there. I hope they keep it up!!!

The gym is great, but due to ankle surgery recovery issues, I could barely go after signing up and decided to cancel a couple months in. They require a 30-day notice, but I requested only paying through the end of the month because I barely went. They went above and beyond and refunded my entire membership. Can’t wait to eventually re-join this gym once I’m fully healed.

This gym is absolutely great! When I first joined, I was given a tour which helped me decide whether or not I wanted to sign up for a membership. What the gym has to offer is great. Great machines and a lot of amenities and the staff is friendly. But the people who attend the gym are the worst. They are so rude and unwelcoming. People would rather laugh at you doing something wrong instead of coming over and correcting you. They rudely ask you to get off a machine instead of patiently waiting their turn or asking politely. People give you dirty looks. If you look at the reviews that say “the people are so friendly” you will notice they all have something in common, the way they look. If you look any different (skin color) from majority of the gym goers, you will most likely be treated differently by the fellow guests. I’ve spoken to multiple other people about this and they have had the same experience. This is not the gyms fault but more of a community problem. I guess you only get to experience the “Long Beach Vibes” if you look a certain way.

Has most if not all of the equipment you could ask for. Have been at this gym since they reopened in 2020 and they have always improved upon themselves. They're always ordering new gear, fixing/replacing old/broken machines, hiring new trainers, and extending business hours, which was a huge plus for me. Nevin, the owner, always heeds member feedback. For the price you get so much. The other gyms in the area can't compete, this is the gym to be at and the one people want to go to.
Sad to say goodbye to this place as I'm moving but highly recommend!

I've been a member of several gyms across Long Island and Hollywood Health Club is by far my favorite. From the day I signed up, I felt welcomed by staff and other gym goers. In my opinion, you have a great mix of gym goers there. It isn't a total 'meathead' gym nor is it a room full of beginners. It's a great blend of guys and girls of all ages with all different experience levels and fitness goals. The weight room is abundant with plenty of free weights and equipment. Plenty of machines in the cardio room, the place where people mainly stretch/warm-up is spacious, and they have some nice amenities including a pool, sauna (don't break it please lol), an outside area, and little rooms throughout the place for privacy with smart mirrors. On top of it all, the gym was always clean, and the majority of people would even wipe down equipment after using it. If you're reading this review and you're still not sure, just go there for a free trial pass and check it out yourself.

Clean facility with tons of equipment and wonderful staff. The outdoor area is my personal favorite to enjoy a workout with some fresh air. Plenty of cardio machines (treadmills, ellipticals, stair masters, etc.) in the downstairs area as well as a functional area, swimming pool and the lockers. Upstairs is the weightlifting area with dumbbells, squat racks (multiple), 2 platforms and plenty of machines for different movements. This membership has a lot of value!

This is the best gym I have been a member of. The equipment and space is always kept clean and they keep constant maintenance on all of their machines. The gym is laid out very well allowing for plenty of space for the wide variety of machines they have that you will not find at other gyms. The smart rooms allowed me to switch up my cardio methods when I didn’t feel like taking the traditional route. The staff is very friendly, they have updated water fountains which was always an issue at other gyms I went to, and the price is very reasonable.

This facility is incredible! I joined Hollywood LB in February after a long break since the pandemic. Everyone is so friendly and kind. (LB Vibes) The gym is so clean!! I never felt intimidated when lifting. Their functional fitness room downstairs inside and outside is my favorite !! THEY HAVE EVERYTHING POSSIBLE. Hollywood LB is a gym with amazing yoga instructors as well ! I am going to miss Brianna’s classes. Definitely check them out ! Hollywood has great parking and is also very close to the beach! I am moving and had to cancel, and I am really upset about it. I am very picky when it comes to gyms and Hollywood is PERFECT !! Please open more locations !!!!!! :)

I hesitantly made a decision to inquire about personal training sessions, unfamiliar with the gym and with no knowledge of the process of becoming in shape. The staff simplified the process and made me feel like family instantly. I started training with Christina immediately. I have always hated working out, but this place made me fall in love with it. Ever since I’ve started coming here back in august 2021, I’ve become mildly addicted, and have for the first time in my life I am consistently working out 4 to 5 days a week. There’s just so much to love about this place — the friendliness and helpfulness of the coaches, the receptiveness of management to any questions or concerns, the amazing equipment, the regulars that I see every day that come to workout here. I often find myself coming in more than once a day if my schedule allows — and that says a lot because I live 20 minutes away.

The hewlett location I actually like this gym a lot. There are a few problems that need to be corrected. First I feel it’s too crowded with equipment. The old life fitness was perfect space. The times I like to go seem to be overcrowded with kids who just come to socialize. They have a habit of horse playing taking off their shirts to flex in front of the mirror. They also play wrestling in areas where people are working out and lifting heavy weights that could hurt themselves. The kids also have a habit of never re-racking the weights. It. E comes a inconvenience for other members as well as the employees. I see them struggle to keep things organized to not more than 5 minutes later have to do it again because of these kids. Like I said it’s a good gym but I think the kids who go there are going to ruin it.

Where do I start…Hollywood Health Club it’s been real. Unfortunately having to move from LB I have to say goodbye but before I do I wanted to share this.

Since joining last February I have enjoyed every day spent here building towards my fitness and health goals. Great equipment, great coaches and staff and awesome atmosphere that makes you want to get better and improve everyday! I had the pleasure to work with my coach Justin Mosley and training with him has opened my eyes to how much there is to learn about the world of fitness. For as long as I can remember, the thought of going to the gym was an anxiety provoking chore. To physically get myself to go was the hardest part. I recently moved to LB and I knew I wanted to make a change for myself. On that day that I finally got myself out the door and walked into Hollywood where I was greeted by Jac. Jac was enthusiastic and comforting when I told her “ I just don’t know where to start.” That day she signed me up for the gym and got me set up in a smart room where I felt extremely comfortable being able to workout by myself. As I was leaving the gym that day she brought up the idea of personal training. Personal training was always something I had thought about but I had never took the leap. I am thankful to have met Jac who helped me to take that leap. Personal training with Jac has not only helped me improve my physical health, but my mental health and self confidence. She has helped to push me and guide me towards my goals. Jac has been not only an amazing trainer, but a source of comfort on days where I feel like I have not seen enough progress in myself. On days where I feel as though I am seeing progress she is there to cheer me on. In just one month of training I am seeing my body and mind start to transform. Going to the gym is no longer a chore but something I look forward to. I have found a friend in my personal trainer, and for that I am forever thankful!

I joined Hollywood back in December 2020, before they opened. They took over the gym that was previously there, and made an enormous amount of renovations and changes. They promised to build back stronger and better, and they certainly ensured they stayed true to their promise. They revamped the cardio room to allow for personalized treadmill stations, so you don't have to be too close to the person next to you. Even not during a Covid environment, this is extremely nice to have. In addition, they removed personal office spaces that were previously there, in order to make more room for their guests. This is the definition of putting their members first. They added personal smart fitness rooms that you can rent, and workout in. Inside these personal rooms, you have the opportunity to utilize their Mirror workout system and their bike linked to peloton. They also removed and replaced the entire weighted training floor with brand new, state of the art equipment. Hollywood health spa has been the definition of putting their members first, they've listen to all recommendations their members gave them. Maggie is always so helpful and kind. She always ensures a great experience. From my personal experience, I asked if they can replace the chains on the rowers, and they did that less than three months later. If you're looking for a top of the line gym in the area, I would absolutely recommend Hollywood health club.

I will not give it any stars, but I will give my opinion. And place that does not accept Insurance companies to be for there Gym membership fee show me there are a bit money hungry. And when you live on a fix income its have to do anything. Yes it is 50 dollars a month 600 year dollars for the year. I went to check out the Hewlett one and they told me the do not accept any insurance we have to file for it separate and have the insurance company you, well it don't work that way. I will have to think about join in it, not sure as of yet!!!!!!!! The owners really took the old Retro & put their heart into this new place. Many benches available and multiple sets of equipment so you’re never waiting! Massive cardio area too. I was skeptical at first signing up my teenage son with a physical trainer . Luckily, my son was able to train with Justin Mosley who inspired him to keep coming back to the gym. My son was on the lazy side when it came to physical activity and I only thought he would go a few times. However, almost 5 month later my son is transforming his body and his mind thanks to Justin , the staff and gym itself. The gym is clean , well kept and has modern equipment. Justin is a great role model for our son both as a trainer and a great guy. Justin's training program challenges my son while keeping it interesting and fun ! When I head there in the morning Maggie is usually working the front desk - giving you all the energy you need to get to it in the morning and Daniel always greeting people with a smile. Literally every staff member is amazing and will treat you like family. Nevin & team really did an incredible job with transforming this space in such a short period of time! The cleanliness is unlike anything I've seen before at a gym, the staff are consistently wiping down equipment and sanitizing the space. The private rooms are so innovative and add a huge amount of value to the membership.

MAGGIE is an absolute ray of sunshine. Her positive energy is contagious the moment you walk into the gym. If any assistance is needed, she comes running without a second thought.

I’ve been going here since they reopened. It’s never too packed and hardly ever need to wait for a machine. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. The gym is kept clean and if something needs repair it’s addressed quickly, which I very much appreciate. MAGGIE at the front desk is always in a great mood and has such positive energy, even in the wee hrs of the morning. COACH KAITLYN’s personal training is top notch and I’d recommend her as a personal trainer in a heartbeat. I love this gym! So grateful for the new owners and awesome crew. Well done!

Erika is incredible. She has made personal training a welcomed experience for me after many years of disappointment. With lower back pain, I always have pushed too hard without someone to really understand how the body moves and works and she has kept me safe while helping me build my strength. I’m so so happy Hollywood replaced NYSC! This gym is exactly what we needed. It is clean, spacious, and has great equipment. No more broken machines constantly and they really listen! When I first joined I noticed they didn’t have a certain piece of equipment I wanted and I popped into the owner’s office and asked about it and it was literally there to use two days later!

I like coming here, staff friendly, with lots of machines to use. Weight/tuff area is really nice. What they are lacking here is the cleaning. In the beginning of the year when they opened they had someone all day wiping things down, now I have gone at all different time intervals and never see anyone doing that kind of sanitizing. For example the fans on the treadmill machines have an accumulation of dust. Like who wants that blowing on you when you are sweating and working out. Do better especially now that it's getting colder and flu season is in effect.

This must be one of the one of the most well kept health clubs I've seen in a long time. Not only is the staff Professional but hospitable as well. The thing that stands out to me the most though would be the other members. Everyone is respectful of each other and very friendly. This is one of the greatest gyms we have ever belonged to. Clean, state-of-the-art, friendly. It’s really become a Long Beach staple. A complete and total transformation from the gym that lived there prior. It’s clear that all members are welcome there regardless of fitness level, which is also really nice. They are all about well-rounded health and fitness and believe in continuous improvement, regardless of where you’re at. The fitness coaches are also as involved as you want them to be, whether you want personal training or just want to do your own workout. This gym is a blessing to long beach. It's so clean and the staff are all awesome! The machines and weights are all clean and well managed. Nevin was extremely helpful whenever we needed assistance. We are moving to another state, I wish we could bring this gym with us. I implore you to give them a shot and sign up! Super clean facility, machines work very well, locker rooms are always clean. Extremely nice and welcoming atmosphere. When I signed up, it’s $50 month to month and $40 for anual membership. I consider that quite pricey, but for a health club as nice as this one, it is worth it.
In addition, there is sometimes complementary water and energy drinks, although you still can’t get a tampon or pad out of the vending machine in the women’s locker room without paying ¢25. The problem isn’t the price, it’s that who the hell brings money with them to the gym…specifically a single quarter??? We already pay enough for the membership. And obviously they can have complementary items out. Take down that machine and have the pads and tampons out. Stop making women have to pay for simple toiletries.

This gym is new, clean and well-equipped, with something for everyone. Plenty of brand new cardio equipment, new weights, small group classes and individual workout rooms with spin bikes and the Mirror. Ownership take pride in the facility and a bonus is free use of the pool during certain times! Great value for the monthly cost. Also everyone working out seems truly grateful to have an open gym and get back into a routine post-COVID.

The club is great. If you think it’s the same as NYSC was you are wrong! New equipment, staff takes pride in the place, are always friendly and helpful and willing to assist. Clean, and Covid compliant. Masks on and everyone is wiping equipment down. My favorite part is for sure pool care. My son loves going to swim with his friends while I squeeze in a quick sweat sesh. So happy I joined.

I really love this place! Best gym I've ever been a member of, not exaggerating. The staff/owners are very friendly and humbly. It has so much equipment and high tech exercise gadgets I've never seen before. Private smart rooms that are included with the membership is a huge plus. The facility is spacious and super clean as well. I was weary about joining a gym during the pandemic but Hollywood takes things serious as there are socially distanced cardio machines and staff continually disinfecting everything. There are fun and exciting raffles and give always too. They also have a great Instagram account that is both motivating, helpful, and inspiring. I left my water bottle in the locker room one day and then I saw they post lost and found items weekly to their instagram story. I would give 6 stars if possible! Also appreciate the month to month billing instead of Synergy with their "certified letter to cancel" and other commitment bs. The water could be a little colder in the fountain but hey they have a water bottle filler at least. No more spilling water everywhere for me!

They also offer a number of free classes every day and even after hours sessions for spin class.

This gym is exactly what Long Beach needed! After going to this gym for almost 2 months, I am consistently impressed.

First, they offer so many different types of exercise options, this is the perfect place for any type of athlete (beginner or pro) with the options offered. There are also great options depending on your comfort level with the current situation, i.e. private rooms to use peloton, mirror, or boxing.

On top of this, everything is shiny and CLEAN. Between the newly purchased machines, they've clearly spent a lot, and the very well repaired and cleaned up old machines....You're going to get your workout done and get it done safely (unlike the gym before this one). They have so many machines, you may even find yourself struggling to just chose what you need to do for the day.

This place feels like a community place, in a safe and familiar way. It's an LB company supporting other LB businesses and providing a safe place for people to come together (in a COVID friendly way). Most people are pretty good about wearing their masks (because everyone here is a true athlete and knows wearing your mask will make you a BETTER athlete - as if you were training at altitude).

Last thing I want to say, I appreciate the work they've put into having trainers out and about who ACTUALLY clean up after all those people who are too weak to re-rack their weights properly. I recently took advantage of my personal assessment with Kaitlyn and I actually learned a lot. Their practice of finding ways to work with your body and its limitations to build is what fitness is all about. My time with her has changed my lifting sessions for the better - her small tweaks made HUGE differences. So yes, take advantage of this perk!

Overall, the owners are clearly passionate about fitness and the community. They're not out here trying to nickle and dime people, they're creating a safe space where people can work on themselves side by side with their neighbors (poetry).

Love love love it. This is exactly what we needed in Long Beach. Very clean, there always several ppl walking around moping, sanitizing, cleaning. Machines are sites out and orderly sectioned to each muscle group. Not to mention the have private rooms you can book with a cycle, Peltonone, and mirror gym, also painted very nice scenery. Staff is very friendly and extremely nice. Did I mention they ordered a bunch of dope leg equipment? Well yes they did. No gyms in nassau have good leg equipment and they are waiting on some very dope equipment. Overall great experience. Can't forget Skudin Surf is teaching swim lessons etc there too. Locally owned gym. Check out our you will not be upset.
