I really wanted to love this, but unfortunately the experience fell short. I was informed that a mat purchase was required to join, or mat rentals with each visit, “because other mats will melt in the saunas.” For hygiene and health reasons I prefer to only use my own mat. Having worked as a mat manufacturer I confirmed to her that their yoga mats are standard EVA mats, just like most other mats, and they will certainly will not melt in a 120 degree infrared sauna. If you’re going to require an add-on purchase to a membership, at least don’t lie as to the reason for it. The receptionist asked the owner to make an exception, but unfortunately I received an unfriendly and dismissive message from Ashley the owner about this, and therefore I will not be signing up or referring this business because it seems that the owner cares more about branding than hygiene.

UPDATE after the owner's expected rude comment below. 1) I am not Alanna, and assuming as such, while speaking poorly publicly about my sister is really poor taste and in fact, illegal. 2) Your excuse re: mat fibers is really untrue. Otherwise you would encourage guests to purchase that specific kind, or at least provide other options for their health and hygiene. Lastly, I asked Erin to call you, don't imply any other reason for that. She never asked for ID to begin with, and your gross accusations of "railroading a 17 year old" are despicable. Maybe she needs some extra training. I am beyond disappointed yet again by these accusations and false statements, let alone trying to imply that the experience was "loved," when it for certain was not. Otherwise I would never have left a 1-star review.

Since this negative experience I have spoken to many friends in the area who shared with me that they've lost $ at this facility, where a strict 60 day notice is in place with memberships and they were charged past their cancellation dates.

And LASTLY, Ashley, you clearly have shown zero behaviors of uplifting other women based on how I was treated by you after merely asking a basic question about using a yoga mat, followed by your grossly false accusations here. It might be time for you to get on a mat.

I had a great first time experience at Hot Worx. Jordan had my room all set up and ready for me. I really enjoyed my first workout which was Pilates. I’m definitely signing up. I can’t wait to feel better and see results.

New member to Hotworx Hamburg. I was looking for a gym that offered a variety of low impact classes (pilates, yoga, barre), cardio, weights and sauna. Hotworx has it all. Plus, they are open 24-hours, which makes it perfect for any schedule. My job sometimes requires me to stay late without notice, which forced me to pay so many late fees or lose class passes at other gyms. I love the flexibility of booking and cancelling at Hotworx without penalty when life strikes.
