🥊 HTD Boxing Gym: Exceptional Experience and Supportive Coaching
I went to HTD Boxing with my nephew, who has boxed before and wanted to get back into it. From the moment we walked in to check it out, we were greeted by two young gentlemen who couldn’t have been more informative, helpful, and friendly. They took the time to answer all our questions and made us feel completely welcome.
The very next day, we returned for a class—and I have to say, it was unbelievable. For a full hour, I watched my nephew work on every part of his body through intense exercises, all while being encouraged and supported by the coach. The energy, focus, and motivation in that room were inspiring.
We opted for their intro package, which includes one paid class and a second class free—a great way to see if it’s the right fit. The staff encouraged us to try this option so my nephew could really get a feel for the program.
When the class ended, my nephew came out genuinely excited but exhausted—a perfect sign of a great workout. The coach made a point to say goodbye personally, and my nephew left with a huge smile and a sense of accomplishment.
As an aunt, I’m thrilled to see a 15-year-old so happy, active, and engaged. HTD Boxing has created an environment that’s not just about fitness—it’s about confidence, discipline, and community.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommended for anyone looking to get into boxing or just stay active in a positive space.

Daniella is the most incredible coach!! She is tough and also so helpful/approachable. I’m always amazed at the combinations that I’m able to do at the end of each class and it’s only possible because she is such a great teacher!

I didn't know if I could do boxing for I have arthritis and a few other issues. Well, Daniella was superb as a coach. She understood the limitations, adapted and gave me a great hour of workout. I so look forward to more. Thanks HIIT The Deck

Raheam is an exchellent coach who knows how to work with kids. Being the mom of a competitive athelete who is engaged in two very demanding sports, I do know what a good coach and coahing style means. Raheam is especially good at finding the golden middle between working with the body and the mind, which is a must if you really want your child to move forward in a spport. He is as well good at finding the right balance between keeping the kids motivated and disciplined. If you want a sports session for your child where they would be encouraged to step out of thier comfort zone to achieve a gaol, this is the right class. We were looking for a very dinamic, challenging class with a coach who really understands how to work with kids, who cares and does not allow any fooling around, and we found one! Bottom line - highly recommend!

This is hands down (or up) the best business at the seaport. It gives it life and character. Whether you are boxing at the gym, walking your dog or having a drink at the outdoor bar next door, you’re bound to be drawn in by the energy.
If you’re a beginner or an expert, young or old, male or female, early riser or late sleeper, starting your fitness journey or very athletic, you’ll find what you want here.
There are early morning classes & early evening classes, male instructors & female instructors, beginner classes & expert classes, downtown location & uptown location. With instructors that have their own style of teaching.
What you want, they got it. So find what excites you, be ready to show up with energy and enthusiasm and leave your ego at home.

Raheam has amazing energy. I always get a great workout. I also have a lot of fun in his class because he has great rhythm -- it feels like you are making boxing music when you hit the pads.

Lee is a phenomenal trainer. I have been with him for years, and actually followed him from another gym. He consistently pushes me to go so much farther than I ever think possible and my level of conditioning since I started training with him has been next level. He's tough, his class is intense but anyone who sticks with him will be amazed at how much their fitness level will be elevated.

I have been a loyal customer of Hit the Deck for many years, and it’s truly the best boxing gym out there. The classes are intense and disciplined, with knowledgeable trainers who push you to your limits. Not only have I become physically stronger, but my confidence has grown tremendously as well. Every session is 60 minutes of nonstop effort, and the energy in the room is unbeatable. This gym has changed my life, both mentally and physically!

Raheam gives off such great energy as a coach. His encouragement kept me motivated and engaged despite the class being my first time trying boxing and being in my head about it. He pushed us without being imposing, provided positive reinforcement, and always offered a warm smile. By the end of the class, I had a sense of accomplishment from being able to connect many of the basic combinations. Highly recommended!

Lee is a fantastic instructor. I've not been in a boxing gym in a while (a few years). It's not entirely like getting back on a bicycle and I appreciate Lee pushing me while being patient as I find my zone. Great workout and instructor. I sweated buckets. Definitely earned my dinner.

I will preface this review by saying I LOVE BOXING and today this “man” made me walk out of a class that I would have otherwise looked forward to taking. Ronson Frank is the most unprofessional “coach” I have ever experienced in my entire life. He said that I was a disturbance to his class and his coaching and that the door is right there. WHO SAYS THAT?!? From the moment I walked into “his” studio I felt unwelcome but I let it subside since I genuinely love the sport. I’m very big on energy and ours did not mesh. Granted, as an owner of an establishment, you have free will to turn down customers and I have seen my way out. I’ve never experienced such humiliation. He exudes rudeness and no customer service skills whatsoever. I am baffled! I am a frequent gym go-er, class taker, and my reputation as a student and team player speaks volumes. I am the one with the highest energy in the room and I am known to push the person next to me, to which they thank me for, always! To this man I was a threat and he let it be known that I wasn’t welcome back. I wouldn’t go back not even if they offered me a free membership. So not worth it!

I've taken two classes and I have to say, the workouts are the real deal. Coach Lee McConnell is a great coach that really pushes the class with high intensity bag work and padwork. My next session was with Coach Ozhovych and I have to say, he's authentic. He stresses technique and power as well a conditioning. And that's the beginner class! I highly recommend.
Full disclosure, there are a lot of high impact plyometric exercises in the class. If you are a bigger person or have lower joint issues, keep that in mind as it's tough on your joints.
Overall, great experience and I highly recommend.

HIIT THE DECK NYC for two days was the best instruction for me, being I have never done kickboxing or boxing. Day1 Kickboxing: Patrick was very detailed, explaining proper footwork, punches, & utilizing the heavy bag, finally putting it all together in the ring. Day2: JR seems to be a pro trainer right out of the movie Rocky, he pushed me to the break, although I struggled with the punch combos, he quickly explained & slowed the pace. Both sessions were exactly what I was looking forward to on my Bday (12/07), THANKS & yes next time we are in town, I will book a class!
thanks HIIT!

Difficulty level high though you could moderate if needed. Most mitt work I've done in a class setting. Lee's class is tough with limited to no water breaks so get hydrated before hand. Come to work.

Great boxing gym in Financial District with amazing trainers. I go for the 1 on 1 training but I’ve seen the classes and they’re not the run of the mill fad aerobic boxing classes, everyone in there is working and they’re doing it with the form of real boxers . Love it there and I’ll be a regular.

HIIT the deck is by far one of the hardest, but most rewarding workouts I’ve done in New York City. Stephen, Ronson and Lee are expert trainers who not only get your heart rating going, also take the time to develop your technical boxing skills. Every single workout is a little different and challenging! Class has become a staple in my routine since 2020, and I’m seriously thankful for the skills, fitness and community I now have through this gym. Thoroughly recommend! 🔥🥊

This gym is the best. I’ve been training here for 2 years and I wouldn’t consider any other boxing gym. I started without much boxing background and have learned so much. They have everything you need: great coaches, classes that will get you in great shape, heavy bags, speed bags and a ring for sparring. It’s such a great community of people and there’s something for all levels!

I fell in love with boxing three years ago. I always knew I could get better, I just didn’t know where to start. Call it fate or whatever but in a blink of an eye, was training with one of best boxing coaches in NYC- Stephen Frank. H. I. I. T. THE DECK is where you go to get all the necessary boxing skills as well as an intense sweat and workout. I’m so blessed to have found a gym that will help me achieve my goals in becoming a better boxer. H. I. I. T. THE DECK isn’t just a regular boxing gym. It’s a family. And no one can compete with a crew like that.

Founded during the pandemic when uncertainty was at the highest, HIIT THE DECK provided me confidence, stability, and hope during a hard time. It's more than just your average HITT work out, Stephen, Ron, and his team break down technique to teach you real boxing skills, so you can progress, defend yourself, enjoy the sport along the way, while you get your sweat on. It's also a great group of people to meet and work out with. It's not common to find a place where I feel safe and comfortable as I level up my sparring technique. I really found my community here who can also keep me accountable. Hope to see you in the ring or on the deck.
