This studio changed my life for the better 11 years ago and it was the best thing I could’ve done. It’s a welcoming, supportive and loving community. The instructors are top notch, they helped me get so far in pole so quickly. It’s the best workout I can recommend. And a serious one at that!

I've been taking classes at Hudson Valley Pole since 2017, and met the current owner, Beth, when we were both students sharing a pole in a level one class. This studio has so many classes to choose from for a wide range of ability and interest levels. Hudson Valley Pole also frequently hosts workshops with guest instructors so that students can expand their practices even more. Through the thoughtfully designed curriculum and endless encouragement of the instructors, I have been able to evolve many times over as a dancer. Anyone who is seeking to explore pole and find a joyful community will certainly find it at Hudson Valley Pole.

I’ve been taking classes at Hudson Valley Pole for 4 years and have had the amazing opportunity to be taught by almost every teacher there! I can honestly say that every single one of them has contributed to the strength, stamina, fluidity and technique that I have developed on my pole journey! All of the teachers are friendly, knowledgeable and create a safe but fun environment for learning!

Hudson Valley Pole has provided me more than just a hobby it has given me confidence in myself both physically and mentally. The community at the studio is so inclusive and warm! Everyone is truly there to support each other and hype each other up!

I want to start off by saying I think the instructor and fellow classmates were simply splendid people, and from the social front I had a nice time. I was disappointed in the content of the class to this point; it felt overbooked and I felt underworked. I made the mistake of not reading into the class description well enough, and for that I claim fault. However when a pole class doesn’t have enough poles for all the students and it’s broken up into groups, it’s hard not to feel ripped off; I spent most of the class sitting on the floor waiting to practice basic moves. I drove a long way to come and paid good money since I’m new to the area and simply desperate for a good workout experience, and I didn’t get that here. I feel that was not because of the type of class I booked, but the fact that it was so overbooked there was no time to really put into practice what we were taught.. felt like they cared more about paying spots than quality of experience. I hope to come back soon and have a better experience than my initial one, as I really want to be part of the community here.

In town visiting from Denver where I have taken pole classes. I did the intro class with Glenda and had a great time! She challenged us, encouraged us, and made us laugh. I plan to do Glenda's class whenever I am back in town!

I love hudson valley pole so much. I first started going in March and have been hooked ever since. The instructors are so much fun and great at explaining things to help understand better. Everyone is so supportive, I love when someone nails a move and everyone cheers. I have gained so much confidence this past year. It is so incredible to learn what the body can do. Thank you hudson valley pole for changing my life and many others. <3

This studio changed my life! In November of 2016 I walked in the doors, and even though I’ve moved to Cali this will always be my home studio. Nicole is an incredible, patient, wonderful teacher. She has cultivated a safe, professional, and welcoming atmosphere that the other lovely instructors also extend to all students. I miss this studio and the students so!!!! Go to HVPA, if you’re open and kind and want to dance you will not be disappointed.

I attended the newbies pole class with friends this past Saturday. The class warmup started out decent. However, the rest of the class was a huge disappointment. I have taken a few intro pole classes in the past and all of my former instructors took the time to actually teach and assist students. The instructor leading this class did a poor job. She started by teaching complicated inversions to beginners. After demonstating one time she ignored the new people and paid attention to people who clearly attend her class every week. We saw a total of 3 pole inversions/spin demonstrations and were mostly ignored. I was dissapointed with the lack of professionalism at this studio and will not advise anyone to take their intro class.

I nervously walked into my first Pole Newbies class in December 2016, knowing basically nothing about pole dancing. Within minutes I was put at ease by the teacher (and studio owner), Nicole Duquette. I’m in my 50s and was probably the oldest person in the room that day...but it was no big deal. I’ve since been attending classes fairly regularly, and I continue to amaze myself at what she has helped me to accomplish.

Her welcoming attitude and infectious spirit set the tone for the studio, which attracts a wide variety of friendly and supportive students. Her coaching is skillful and professional, and her athleticism and grace provide endless inspiration. The schedule has recently expanded with more unique classes taught by other wonderful teachers. Becoming a part of the HVPA community is one of best things about my move to Kingston!

I am very fortunate to live near this amazing pole studio with certified experienced teachers that can safely teach pole to any level student that walks in the door. The vibe is rich with acceptance, encouragement and love of pole in its many facets. The gem of this studio is it's proprietress Nicole Duquette and her love of teaching this art is a thing of beauty. Men and women that seek traing here are equally welcome. You will love this pole tribe!

I walked into HVPA a timid pole fledgling and left feeling delighted with my experience, excited to come again. The work ethos here is all about patience, acceptance, and good humor. Excellent instructors in a beautiful space - I highly recommend HVPA for the whole spectrum of dancers, fitness enthusiasts, and interested newbies.

HIGHLY recommended if looking to get into pole or if you already are in pole/aerial fitness. A beautiful studio with an amazing vibe and nothing but empowerment and support. Not only from the instructors but the students as well. It's all family here.

Hudson Valley Pole Arts is in this beautiful loft space at the Shirt Factory with an amazing group of women that encourage each other both inside and outside of class. The first time I went there, they invited me to go apple picking with them after class. Who does that?! Everyone is very welcoming, relaxed, playful, and they maintain their body-positive belief systems. You can go at your own pace and get support and encouragement no matter what stage you are at. The general vibe is 'accept yourself but challenge yourself.' If you're having hang ups about trying pole dance for the first time, this is the place to start. Your age, weight, race, gender or athletic ability (or lack their of) really doesn't matter in this place...and that's a beautiful thing. They do Burlesque workshops too. The prices are reasonable... but the confidence and support I've received from this community is priceless. They helped put me back in touch with my youth, my sexuality, my sense of adventure, and my sanity. I would recommend HV Pole Arts without hesitation.
