I’m new to the gym and I’m seeing these reviews about the sanitary conditions at gym they definitely need to hire better cleaning staff the bathrooms are disgusting and there is never any toilet paper you have to ask the front desk and they only give you a small amount not even a roll very embarrassing.

I’ve been going to Iron Pump Gym in Bayside since it opened, and it’s hands down one of the best gyms around. The environment is motivating, the equipment is high quality and always clean, and the trainers are top notch. I’ve mainly focused on weightlifting and personal training, and both have exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend to anyone serious about their fitness!

I went in intending to purchase a one-year package, but the experience was very unprofessional. The person at the front spoke in a vulgar manner and created a low-class atmosphere. On top of that, I was told there would be an extra fee of around 10% for paying by credit card, with a cheaper cash option pushed instead. This did not feel professional or trustworthy, and I ultimately decided not to support this business.
additional updates:
I had a frustrating experience with this gym's billing practices. I was quoted $700 for a one-year package, but when I went to pay with my credit card, the total came to be $830.
When I questioned the significant price difference, the management's explanation was unclear and unsatisfactory. They seemed to be adding taxes and fees that weren't properly disclosed upfront, despite apparently collecting taxes from customers.
What bothered me most was the lack of transparency in their pricing structure and the way management handled my concerns when I asked for clarification. The communication felt evasive rather than straightforward.
I expect honest, upfront pricing from businesses I'm considering for a long-term commitment like a gym membership. Unfortunately, this experience left me with serious doubts about their business practices.
Would not recommend based on these billing and customer service issues.

Iron Pump Gym is perfect for anyone who wants to come in and truly focus on their workout. The gym has a wide variety of machines, so you never find yourself waiting around for equipment. The environment is respectful, with members giving each other space, and the facility is always clean and well-maintained. Staff members are approachable, knowledgeable, and always available to help with questions about the equipment.

I had a horrible experience at this gym the front desk guy (.3 part owner) was very condescending and made it seem like I wasn’t fit for the gym. The equipment was subpar and as others mentioned in these reviews it wasn’t very clean. Overall I had a terrible experience and wouldn’t recommend to others looking to try it out. Oh and for 2 people it was around 70$ for a day pass.

I’ve been here since day one, and the amount of work and improvement they’ve put in is truly night and day. From the moment you walk in with their modern facial recognition entry, to the friendly staff and Eric’s attentiveness as the owner, you can tell this gym is run with care. Even small touches like the vending machine, towel dispensers, and the cleaning staff keeping everything spotless show the effort that goes into making this place great.
The equipment is top-of-the-line and covers every body part, with renovations and upgrades still underway — including an outdoor area that’s being built out. The cardio section is extensive, and while I’d love to see a vertical water dispenser and a posing room for serious lifters, those are small suggestions compared to how much this gym already offers.
For a smaller spot on Bell Blvd in Bayside, this is a bodybuilding gem. The progress they’ve made is incredible, and I think people should be more grateful for the dedication and growth this place has shown since opening. I’m proud to be part of it from the start, and I’m excited to see what’s next.

Visited this gym today since it’s basically walking distance from where I live and work at the moment. Was given a day pass since it was my first time. Trained gluteus and hammies. They have some good machines. Not a lot of free weights but overall liked the gym. Wanted to join but i’m a little unsettled now.
I stayed a bit longer since my younger brother actually started going to this gym and helped him with his training. Mind you i’m not a trainer at all, i’m an esthetician. I just workout and have a bit of knowledge with some things. A trainer at this establishment approached us ( my brother and i) to tell me I had to leave. I asked why, and he stated that the owner wanted me to leave because I was there too long and then proceed to say they don’t allow outside training. I explained to him that we were siblings and tried to find pictures or proof to prove it. We have the same last name and address. They could’ve checked that.
Regardless Everything in that moment was resolved but left me a little bit unsettled because I usually always train with different people (not for money) but just to train and help them. I’m not sure if that’ll be a problem. I go to other gyms in Long Island with powerlifters etc. and i’m no way at there level but in those gyms you can train or help train anyone that’s why it didn’t occur to me this would be a problem here.
The front desk guys were pretty chill and helpful. I went up to them to show them pictures of me and my brother in thanksgiving and my mom photoshoot 😭😭. Just cause i want to have this as an option.

Iron Pump Gym is hands down one of the best gyms I’ve ever been a part of. From the moment you walk in, you can tell how much pride they take in the space — the equipment is top-notch and well-maintained, the cleanliness is on point, and the overall aesthetic gives off serious motivation vibes. Every workout here feels like an experience, not just another gym session. The atmosphere pushes you to lift harder, stay consistent, and actually look forward to coming back. Highly recommend to anyone serious about their training!

FYI if you purchase using card there is a processing fee - I tried out the day pass for $30, it was okay.
Cardio - Like 10 treadmills, not many bikes maybe 3 but not regular ones (more strenuous like standing) 1 stairmaster and 2 ellipticals.
Theres some free weights all the way in and the others are weight machines a bit crowded in the middle.
Overall? Would I go again since its quite close to me? Yes if I am really strapped for time and don’t want to drive somewhere else, however keep in mind its not the cleanest. Some hair and dirty stuff at the treadmills, sweat marks on equipment.
Women’s locker room a bit stuffy since its right near the boiler and this is in the basement
Its quite a small gym but if you go often and know how to use weights, its your playground
Its not as big as other gyms like planet fitness or LA fitness but if you go at least 5 times a month and live nearby and don’t want to go farther, this is the gym for you.
Keep in mind they only have one trainer who mostly speaks mandarin
No fitness classes here
Very important!! Some machines have the diagram showing you how to use while others don’t, so if you are a newbie you might not know what you’re doing like me
Happy gymming!

I got contact dermatitis from this gym. I’m a regular here, and frequently turned a blind eye to the hygiene issues at this location. I can’t do that anymore. For the health and safety of those who go here or are considering joining, beware the hygiene issues are real.
To name a few noticeable issues:
Sticky equipment
Trash in the form of hair, dust, paper, leaves, dirt etc is littered regularly on the floor and the piles are collected on the edges where the floors meet the walls
Bathrooms have the same garbage, bodily secretions, and hair collections day after day, week after week
Organization of the equipment is lacking, such that you can never find the right weights in the right place - your workout routine will include running around the gym to try and find the right weights and most of the time they don’t match. Incomplete sets of items are normal here
There are no rules on hygiene or organization at this gym. Apparently thy also do not have professional cleaners scheduled to come regularly. That is why you see the same trash and stickiness in the same place day after day.
If you decide to join, take precautions to stay safe.

Good gym with extensive hours, great machine layout, and doesn’t feel too chaotic during rush hours.
I guess the only strange thing is that they allow dogs in the gym? Have dogs myself but I think that’s unsafe and unsanitary.
Recommend.

I typically used to go to blink fitness and push both sometimes those gym would be too packed or to far to drive depending on the time of day you go. This gym actually very close from where I live and is just a few minutes walking nice and clean, weights are always put back in place, staff is really nice and explain the membership information well. I would highly recommend if you are starting your fitness journey or just trying to hop back into the flow.

I’ve been coming to this gym since they opened and it’s hands-down one of the best gyms. The space is clean, never overcrowded, and has everything you need—from free weights to machines to a solid selection of cardio equipment.

I was so excited to find out a new gym has opened around my area. I saw an ad that says $600 for a year and I immediately went to check it out. First of all, this gym is on Bell Blvd and they don’t have a parking lot. Parking around the gym can be extremely difficult. Second, when I got there the price had changed to $650 a year. Not the biggest deal. Thirdly, the gym is really small. It only has one each of, incline, flat, and decline bench. That’s a problem on chest day. Finally, the deal breaker, is that everything looks new and clean now but they don’t offer towel service nor did I see any cleaning supplies available to wipe off the machines. Also, though I don’t personally use much, at $650 a year, they do not have a sauna, steam room, pool, or any of the amenities that would come with that price tag.

In my opinion, best gym in the neighbourhood when comes to machines variety. This gym has so many different types of glutes machines such arsenal hip thruster, Hmmerstrengh hip thruster, glute builder glutes and two others glute kick back, obviously owner cares about female members. $650 a year is very reasonable for gym bell gym. Don’t understand some people who can’t afford it complains of no parking, sauna, etc. it is BELL BLVD CENTER OF BYSIDE EVERYTHING IS HERE!!!!!!!

Let’s address the obvious: gym is WAY TOO CONGESTED/PACKED!!
- WAY too many unnecessary leg machines. When the gym first opened, it had a preacher curl machine, which was great—but now it’s gone and replaced with a red leather bicep machine that’s overly complicated and takes 2 minutes to adjust. I prefer simpler, more intuitive equipment like many other people.
- They added a glute extending/lower back extension plate loaded machine around the bench area which makes no sense. This machine is way too big and is unsafe and makes movement difficult for people who are benching or even moving to get to the boys locker room. Just clear up the bench area, it shouldn't be packed.
Locker Room Access:
- I mentioned this just now, walking to the boy’s locker room is a pain. There’s constantly something in the way—like a platform box or leg equipment. It makes the route inconvenient and frustrating.
Overcrowding:
- The gym gets extremely crowded due to the after-work/school rush. With more members joining over time, it’s only going to get worse. The gym already feels chaotic at peak hours.
My Suggestions:
1) Replace the Indoor Surf cardio machine—nobody uses it—with a second StairMaster. Since the gym opened, I’ve only seen one person on that surf machine.
2) Remove excess leg machines to free up space.
3) Get rid of the abdominal roller coaster machine that’s cluttering the bench area.
This gym has potential, but the layout and equipment decisions need rethinking before the space becomes completely unmanageable.
GYM IS TOO PACKED. PLEASE FIX IT.

My wife and I signed up at Iron Pump Gym yesterday, and I wanted to share some initial impressions. We chose this gym primarily for its convenience and potential, and overall, we really like it. I hope this feedback helps support the gym’s growth into an even stronger and more successful space for its members. I’ll plan to update this review as things evolve over time.
1) Equipment Layout & Organization
Iron Pump offers a wide and interesting variety of machines, but the current layout feels a bit chaotic. It seems like equipment was placed wherever there was available space, rather than following a cohesive plan. This can make the gym feel congested and disorganized—though we understand it’s a relatively new facility and still in development.
Navigating between machines can be tight, particularly when adjusting or adding weight. This might also explain why some members aren’t re-racking weights—either due to inconvenience or a lack of clarity on where things go (or they lack gym etiquette).
Suggestions:
Secure the benches in the dumbbell area. This would help ensure safe spacing and prevent benches from being moved around the gym.
While I don’t mind having treadmills, the assault treadmill, and the assault bike on the same floor as the weights—especially for creative HIIT workouts—it might be wise to move the other cardio equipment upstairs to reduce crowding.
2) Redundant Equipment
There appears to be some redundancy in machine types. For example:
4–5 leg press machines
3–4 glute bridge machines
3–4 row machines
We recommend reevaluating this setup to free up floor space—especially with more equipment reportedly on the way. This would also be a great chance to introduce more diverse or functional training tools.
Suggestions:
Consider replacing a few redundant machines with equipment.
The new deadlift platforms are a great addition but consider whether part of that space might be better used for additional squat racks, since those are currently limited.
Adding another bench press station might also be helpful, given how popular of an equipment it is—especially as the member base grows.
3) Lack of Functional/Warm-Up Space
One thing that seems to be missing is a dedicated area for:
Warm-ups and stretching
Core work
Bodyweight or plyometric movements
Currently, I’ve had to place a mat down in walkways, which isn’t ideal or safe. A small open space with mats, foam rollers, and light weights would go a long way in completing the gym experience.
Suggestion:
We heard a dedicated cardio space is being built upstairs (e.g., for StairMasters). Perhaps a portion of that space could be set aside for functional training or stretching?
4) Cleaning Supplies
Currently, the only available cleaning spray and paper towels seem to be located at the front desk. It would be more convenient and promote cleanliness if cleaning stations were installed around the gym—perhaps mounted to some of the pillars.
Final Thoughts
These are just first world problem gripes based on our first visits nevertheless, something that I feel that I would appreciate after experiencing various different gyms. The staff members are friendly and even if nothing changes, it’s still a solid space where we can get a great workout in. But with a few adjustments, Iron Pump Gym has the potential to be truly exceptional.
Looking forward to seeing how the space evolves!

Horribly horribly overpriced. $75 a month WITH a year contract. And it's the smallest gym I've ever seen. They have ONE bench press, that's right, one. Everything is cramped. There's nothing special about this gym. As a matter of fact it's downgrade from most gyms.

A bodybuilder's gym with a focus on machines. If you're looking for barbells or squat racks, I would not recommend this gym as it's only got 1 squat rack, 2 deadlift stations, and 2 Smith machines. Free weights are generous with dumbbells going up to 150 lbs.
The space is pretty small and was a little smelly when I visited despite it being nearly empty. They've got a decent discount for their introductory offer since they recently opened but their full price is too high for the size of the gym and amount of equipment they have imo.

A bodybuilder’s gym with a machine focus
While not everything is unpacked yet nor opened yet, Iron Pump Gym has a main floor that is mixed between out of the box and second hand machines, stripped steel plates and more familiar rubber ones. If you’re a bodybuilder with a generous budget, this gym is certainly worth trying out during this soft opening. There’s hack squat machines, T-bar rows, 3 sets of cable machines and a tight dumbbell area.
For the powerlifters, there are 3 deadlift platforms, some benches and a single half rack. There are also two smith machine power racks and limited barbells. There may be more to come with the other area opening later but only time can tell.
For the stairmaster masters, there is corridor where several cardio machines are placed in a single file line.
Disclaimer: they are still setting up areas so this review may be out of date when everything is set up.
