I first discovered Journey pilates sometime last year when I was searching around for an affordable way to keep fit as my body was troubling me. . Her class is welcoming and is suitable for all levels. A place where community meets fitness . Not intimidating. You can go at your own pace or challenge yourself harder. Dana isnt aggressive but encourages you , engages with everyone, ensuring we are all well. As someone like me who is in my feet all day , some moves were more challenging. Dana will assist you. I take the mat pilates class at my local library and Dana is a wonderful instructor! The class is challenging but suitable for all levels because of Dana’s modifications. The class goes by really fast and you feel good after taking it. The more you go the better you will get. I have noticed improvements in my form and endurance. I highly recommend Dana as an instructor.

I am in my 80s and have been working with Dana for about a year. I have scoliosis and osteoporosis, and struggled with my balance, sit-to-stand, and stair climbing. Dana works safely with my conditions and also challenges me in every class. At first we started with chair and a mini-ball only, and slowly progressed to standing, steps, and an agility ladder, using weights and resistance bands as well. Dana has helped me tremendously improve my balance and sit-to-stand, but also to improve my mindset. I used to complain throughout each session, and my endurance was low. Over time, I find myself looking forward to our time together, pushing myself during classes, and most importantly, taking the movement we practice out into the world. Highly recommend working with her!!

Dana is super accommodating with her instruction and super encouraging. She always reminds us to do what feels right for our body. If it’s too hard, we can always do a modified version. If it’s too easy, we can always add a layer to push ourselves. Class is very affordable. You get what you put in.

I had a fantastic experience at Journey Pilates! The instructor is incredibly thorough, ensuring that each movement is performed correctly while making the class both engaging and enjoyable. The class was doable but still provided the right amount of challenge by allowing everyone to work at their own level. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and supportive, which made the experience even better. I never considered myself a Pilates fan before, but after this class, I can genuinely say I enjoy it! I can’t wait to go back! Highly recommend!

JOURNEY PILATES IS GREAT! It's currently being offered at Beacon @ M.S.158 in Bayside. The owner and instructor Dana is truly such a great teacher and works with all different type of experience levels. She also supported me when I mentioned to Dana that I had complications and demonstrated modified moves to support me. Her Pilates class will making you feel the burn! She is bright ray of sunshine and I totally recommend Journey Pilates!

I've never practiced pilates and once I started with Dana at Journey Pilates, I'm obsessed! Dana's class is extremely inclusive to all body types and age. There is no shame if you can't do a move she will always suggest an alternate option and it's your choice to choose which suits you better. There is absolutely no stress about your ability or prior experience. Anyone can get a great work out here. Dana's instructions are concise and easy to follow while keeping the class culture casual and fun. You won't regret coming here. I feel productive and energized after each class.

I started mat pilates a few months back with Dana. I then sustained a shoulder injury and had to stop. I really missed the class! Finally I was given the go ahead by my PT and joined the chair pilates class. It’s still quite a workout with a lot of focus on balance and Dana helped me with shoulder modifications. Now that my shoulder is better, I’m hoping to go back to the mat and maybe take both classes. She’s really excellent, careful and knowledgeable. Highly recommend.

Dana is phenomenal. She runs group classes at my synagogue and everyone constantly tells me how much they love her. She is kind and helpful and makes you work HARD. She adjusts everything to your level but makes sure you’re getting a workout. Her catchphrases are the best! “If it’s available” “This one is really going to make you groan” and so on. I look forward to my precious weekly "me" time with Dana. I'm always amazed that I am sweating after doing small, focused movements. I sleep better, my hips feel more open, whereas before working with Dana, my hips were always very tight. Dana asks before we start our session, "what is your win for the week?" I have been searching for a Pilates lesson for some time until my friend recommended me this one. I loved it once I tried out one lesson. I have postpartum issues after my second child. This workout helps me strengthen my core muscles. Although it is a group class, she would modify the routines at my level so I won’t wake up in so much muscle pain the next morning. I highly recommended this program.

I have been attending Dana‘s Pilates classes for several months now. I have had several Pilates instructors in the past, and I have to say, I rate Dana as one of the top instructors. She is kind and starts the class focusing on empowerment and positivity. While in a room with students at different levels, she modifies for the mixed group, and has safety and correct alignment at the core of her work. We are currently working on balance which I once took for granted. She also has a great sense of humor, and makes me want to return. We are truly on the journey together! I feel stronger, and with injuries in my back and hip at 44yo, Pilates is ESSENTIAL for my health. No doubt about it. Don’t hesitate, just try her classes out! My mom and I took mat Pilates classes with Dana. She is a wonderful teacher who is very attuned to her students’ needs. My mom has a sensitive knee and hip and Dana would provide modifications for her and all of us to make sure we were both challenged with the workout, but did not do anything to injure ourselves. As a woman in my 60's starting pilates was quite the challenge for me. My goal was to strengthen my core and Dana is so motivating fun and really knows what she's doing. I’ve never been into exercise or tried Pilates but wanted to try to find something I might enjoy. Wanted someone to come to my house for private sessions. Looked up a few people but went with Dana bc her philosophy seemed to align with mine and her prices were actually very reasonable. Best decision! Wanted to try this for my mental and physical health postpartum and really didn’t want anyone pushing the whole “burn calories and get your body back” idea. Love that she gets that and is not focused on that while still pushing you to be your best!
