I walked here on a whim, in search of a yoga class, and was welcomed by the lovely Alex at the front desk. She was very attentive and answered all my questions about the space, instructors and classes. The space is adorable and the class was excellent! I would recommend giving the 2 week new student special a-go, in order to try the slew of well-experienced teachers and to find the right ones for you! while attending, I also noticed that they were offering up interesting workshops and specialty classes: such as classes on breath work (pranayama) and “Herbal Ally Amulets,” just to name a few.

So thrilled to find my most beloved teacher, Nami Soga, at this studio. She is the real deal and her Level 2-3 class is a beautiful, challenging and creative flow. So many classes are listed as 2-3 but are slow and dull, not Nami! I will joyfully come back to take her wonderful class.

Juniper is the most amazing and serene yoga studio and it’s hard to believe that this little sanctuary exists right in the heart of Brooklyn. It's not just a place to practice yoga however as they offer fantastic workshops focused on women's health and wellness. The teachers are incredibly wise, warm (and funny) and welcoming to everyone. I’ve been practicing here since it opened and it truly is my home away from home. I can’t say enough good things about this very special place.

Juniper Yoga & Healing arts studio is a unique and much needed gem. I have taken classes here with Deborah, Aimee, and Frank... these teachers are well studied, insightful, and wise. Juniper offers a safe and diverse space that meets many needs that are often ignored... for example, their upcoming workshop on sex post-baby, their offerings for families that allow all to feel included, etc. I love taking classes at Juniper and haven't found a studio in all of New York City that I prefer. It's intimate and divine.

On and off over the last year Love is Juniper had become a very special space for my practice, I had even written a review that they ended up featuring on their Instagram account because it was so positive! However, poor management at my last session, as well as their follow-up, has overshadowed what they offer. Love is Juniper is a small studio, and towards the end of our last restorative class the woman at the front desk (later confirmed by a friend as the owner) let one of their massage clients disrupt our class to get ready for his appointment. While this in itself was very disappointing as we were almost up to our shavasana in an already purposefully quiet class, it goes against the studio's own policies evident in how the studio was designed to minimize noise from the front by putting in 2 doors. Like every other yoga studio, Love is Juniper typically enforces a policy of not disrupting classes in session, what is most disappointing is that I myself along with other women have been told loud and clear not to get ready and that we are not permitted to use the bathroom (which is in the studio proper) when we are early and class is still in session. Yet, the owner let a tall man in a suit paying for a private session to do as he pleased, but when I reached out via email I was told they didn't want him to "strain his bladder". They have no problem about anyone else straining their bladder, class was almost over, and the no-interruption policy is standard and of their own--but obviously it only applies depending on who you are and what you are paying for. I will not give my time and money to a place that twists what compassion is meant to be, treating you differently depending on who you are and how you look.

This is truly such a beautiful, powerful, empowering sanctuary. I have been teaching yoga for 15 years and have been searching for a space in NY that feels like home, where each individual student's uniqueness is supported and encouraged. It is here at Juniper! Deborah is such a great teacher. When you are with her she leads you deep into your body, heart and spirit. There is always something new. She speaks from her heart, with purpose and HUMOR and lightness. Alex, the manager is amazingly warm, welcoming and kind. The space is gorgeous. The shop is so special. Brooklyn is beyond lucky to have Juniper!!!!

I’ve tried several yoga studios in Brooklyn, but never could find one that would leave a feeling of contentment and kindness and accomplishment after the practice. But, Juniper is different. It’s a beautiful, clean, peaceful studio, and the teachers care about the practice and about you! I’ve taken classes with Emily and Frank and both are personal, attentive, and Frank helped me do my first headstand for what I’ll be forever grateful for.

One of my favorite things being pregnant is going to Juniper's prenatal yoga. The instructors are terrific. It's not just "modified yoga," but yoga designed specifically for pregnant women. It's a small, very supportive studio in a beautiful space. For me it's also like a pregnancy support group. I tried a few places before Juniper, and this is by far the best. It's really made my pregnancy special.

Biased cause I teach there but really it's such a beautiful space with a roster of truly experienced, unpretentious teachers. I'm really proud to be a part of it and I want everyone to know about this new gem in prospect heights!

Flowers & yoga together is just a dream. It's the perfect shala for those that want to deepen their spiritual practice as well as the yogi that is down to earth and wants no bs when stepping on the mat. With so many experienced teachers and workshops on the schedule both beginners and advanced students will feel connected with Juniper. (They have an outdoor yoga deck!!)
