Karissa’s House of Movement has been the best decision we’ve ever made for our daughter’s dance journey. She danced at another studio for one year, but I didn’t feel she was learning much—and even though her class covered two genres, they only performed one recital number.

After seeing KHOM’s recital photos and doing my research, we made the switch—and I could write a novel about how amazing this place is! My daughter instantly fell in love with dance, the studio, the teachers, and the community. She’s made so many friends, and the studio has truly become an extension of our family. We’ve met families here who are now some of our closest friends—we travel together and spend time together outside of dance.

The confidence my daughter has gained is unmatched. The teachers are talented, supportive, and truly care about every student. The kids encourage each other, learn so much, and have fun while doing it. KHOM is more than just a dance studio—it’s a place where kids grow, thrive, and feel like they belong.

I’ve been a student at KHOM since Karissa opened almost 7 years ago and it was the best decision I made!! I am now going into my senior year and I’ve loved every moment I’ve been at the studio! KHOM has become my second home and Karissa is truly amazing and believes in every kid that walks through the studio doors! All of the other teachers are amazing mentors and are extremely talented!! I wouldn’t recommend anywhere else to dance and trust me when I say khom is the best of the best ❤️❤️ can’t wait for season 6!!!

I can honestly say our experience at Karissa’s House of Movement has been nothing short of fantastic! Karissa and her staff are top-notch! They’re not only incredibly skilled dancers but also amazing teachers who know how to break down complex routines and make them easy to follow. They work hard all year long and it shows in their end of season productions. To say they’re magical to watch doesn’t suffice.
Another thing that really stands out is the supportive community they’ve built. Everyone, from the other students to the instructors, is so encouraging and inspiring. There’s a sense of camaraderie belonging to that studio that can’t be matched by another!

A dance studio that is actually a home away from home… Karissa and her amazing staff and “family” have created an atmosphere in which children of all ages and abilities are welcome and always feel at “HOME” ! All of the staff have become like family to myself and my daughter, and we could not be more grateful to be able to call this our home away from home – our amazing dance studio! Karissa’s house of movement is by far an amazing environment for children. Her teachers are top notch professional and consistent and the same since I started. She encourages team!!! My daughters have danced with Karissa for years way before she opened her own studio. They loved her so much they left where they were to be with her at KHOM. Avoid at all costs. The owner is a thin skinned child who cannot run or manage a business effectively. If you question anything she does, she cannot or will not discuss with you in a professional manner. She likes to invoke "the contract" but only when she wants to use it to enforce her rules.

For reference, I had two girls that went there for 4 years and were part of her competition team. We have paid tens of thousand of dollars to this school. When we questioned something, we were met with hostility and flippant responses that proved we were nothing more than dollar signs.

I'm sad to have to write this as my girls liked their instructors (although there seems to be a revolving door other than maybe 1 or 2 of them) and made lots of friends. It was also convenient given the location but they will not get my business after what we have been experiencing.

I'm sure that some people will disagree with my review which is their right. We are not the only people that have had this happen. I'm sure we will not be the last.

There are many other options in the area to deserve my hard earned money

Karissa's House of Movement is unlike any other dance studio. Many claim to be a "family" but when you walk into Karissa's, you really are part of the family. Each teacher knows each child's name, their strengths, and their areas to work on. They provide feedback in an appropriate and supportive way. Whether your child is there just for class or joins their amazing competition team, your child will grow leaps and bounds, not just as a dancer, but as a person. Aside from the level of expertise that KHOM offers the dancers that attend the studio, what makes it the best place for our daughter in my opinion is the community and culture that KHOM has.
