Excellent studio, instructors are well trained, and classes are challenging. With a regular practice at KIN this past year, I built a lot of strength and was able to add more intensity to my workouts at the gym with some ease.

Love the studio space, instructor was warm and not too serious, but man that class worked my whole body good! Less pretentious than SLT & Solidcore :)

**Updates months later**
I’m expecting and feel super safe and confident exercising here. The instructors are all knowledgeable about what movements I should avoid depending on what stage of pregnancy you’re in. I’m so happy to be able to continue my fitness routine here throughout my pregnancy!

I attended three classes here over the holidays while visiting Brooklyn. As a former dancer, physical therapist, and owner of a physical therapy and Pilates studio in Los Angeles, I was disappointed in the overall experience.

While the instructors had dance backgrounds, their Pilates training and understanding of anatomy and biomechanics appeared limited. This was evident in their instruction, exercise selection, and spring choices, which often didn’t align with proper mechanics or progression principles.

Additionally, two of the classes repeated more than half of the same routine, even though they were taken just days apart. The exercises lacked functional application, with minimal repetitions followed by frequent breaks, which disrupted the flow.

My regular Pilates studio, have been coming for a few months and feel better inside and out since. The instructors incorporate a great balance of same moves that I continue to improve and new moves to target different muscles. Highly recommend :)

Obsessed with this studio. I only like to train with certified instructors or physical therapists otherwise I find that I’m prone to injury. This studio knows their stuff — a challenging but targeted workshop for my arms, butt and abs
The instructors all know their anatomy so it’s amazing if you have injuries too
Also great local community building
Best Pilates studio I’ve found in nyc! (Been looking for a good one for 7 years!)

LOVE Minimalist Movement. I have been attending classes at Minimalist Movement for a few months now - the instructors are wonderful, informative and pay special attention to each person attending class. They will always make sure to help with corrections or advise alternatives movements should one not work for you. Debby, the owner, is a phenomenal instructor with years of experience. GO!

Debby has created a beautiful space to focus on yourself and your movement. She has helped me free strong through two pregnancies and recover afterwards. She has the answer to aches and pains through strengthening and stretching and even advising me on things like toe spacers and sneakers!!! My body would crumble without her and her other amazing teachers (shout out to Jae). Go take class!!! You won’t regret it but you might become addicted to feeling good

I've been going to Minimalist Movement since it opened over a year ago. The instructors are all great and have different styles (some are more active, some more focused on mobility), depending on your mood and level of experience. The machines are SO nice and the studio has a real neighborhood/community feel. Pilates has had such an amazing impact on my body and health. Very much recommend this studio!

I’ve only been to one class but I’m so excited to become a regular! I recently moved to the area and have been looking for a studio that feels welcoming but challenging, that offers effective and fun Pilates classes with an emphasis on form. My class at Minimalist was truly my favorite class I went to in 2023. Looking forward to many more!!

Minimalist Movement studio and its instructors create such a welcoming, calming environment. Their classes are challenging and I feel stronger each time I leave. Debbie is so sweet, and her classes are hard! I've also taken Doriane's class which was challenging but I felt taller and longer after. Highly recommend!

I have suffered for years with pains, soreness and stiffness. I feel like my body is open with energy.

I cannot believe how much movement and flexibility I have. It is as if I’ve been trapped in my skin for many years. After my one session with Deborah, my body feels like it has movement and range of motion.
I have less pressure in the areas that were bothering me.
The pain that I was suffering from is almost completely gone. This is nothing like a massage, hot stones, or acupuncture. I can say I have tried it all. The technique she used targeted the pain. I actually felt the pressure or tension radiate away from the area. During those moments she would step back and basically enjoy the relief with me. Encouraging me to feel the pain leaving my body.

I had no insecurities, Deborah made me feel extremely comfortable. She walked me through every step of what she was doing and why. It was like she was able to see my physical journey with her hands. She knew exactly where the pain was before I told her.
She finished with giving me exercises and best practices to extend the result with the hopes of correcting my aches and pains.

I can honestly say I have slept well (better than I have in years), have less stiffness and gained better posture. I feel AMAZING!

I’ve been working with Debby for several years now and feel so much stronger and healthier, as well as more knowledgeable about my own body. Despite having a few problem areas pain-wise, Debby is always thoughtful about making specific adjustments to my Pilates sessions so I always have a safe and positive experience. She’s also funny, warm, and kind.
