Kula is home. What can I say? I’ve been coming here since I was a wee 15 years old, and now, at almost 29, I can say without hesitation that this community of teachers, yogis, and hearts has quietly, consistently, and with infinite gentleness and patience — supported, held, educated, and cared for me in more ways than I can count. I owe so much of the goodness of who I am to this place.

Here you’ll find seasoned teachers and practitioners who are compassionate, intelligent, and deeply caring. They meet you exactly where you are — whether you’re a beginner or an advanced practitioner — while holding a high and inspiring standard of practice.

With a history that began as a community response to 9/11, Through like challenges, even through COVID, Kula has held steady with grace and adaptability. What stands out above all is their patience — quiet, steady, endless patience. It’s in the way they teach, the way they hold space, and the way they’ve cared for me and so many others over the years.

Gentleness, patience, and grace. that’s the heart of Kula.

Please join us if you feel the calling, you will be most welcome. We love you!!!!!!

Cute and calming yoga studio. I enjoyed the kula yoga class with Rebecca. I liked the difference in postures than what I’m used to in vinyasa or hot yoga classes.

I’ve been practicing with Augustine for about 5 years as a Mysore ashtanga student, could not have asked for a more patient and knowledgeable teacher. So happy with Kyla holding this space!

Update Aug 2024: after a month of attending morning Mysore Ashtanga practices about 2x per week I've been very impressed. I'm now coming regularly and truly enjoying this practice. Augustine is a wonderful instructor.

Loved my first Ashtanga class (Mysore). Augustine guided me and was very kind and welcoming, the practice was challenging physically and mentally and I enjoyed it.

A beautiful space for community and movement. Prenatal and postnatal class with Martine has been a life saver and wonderful form of connection with other new parents. She’s so intentional about curating class and a space where all feel welcome and seen. I recommend to anyone, but especially those who are pregnant or have given birth.

I absolutely love Kula. I go out of my way to come to this studio, because the teachers are so great and the instruction is excellent. I'm so grateful that they have remained open this year.

Beautiful studio, incredibly well trained and experienced teachers, and strong community. I've been going to this studio for 10 years and I'm thrilled that they've reopened... it's places like this that make Williamsburg my home.

Look no further for truly high quality, informed yoga classes. I am notoriously picky as a Rolfer and Yoga Instructor, so Nikki’s and Giulia’s classes (Williamsburg) have been a breath of fresh air. I’ve found the studio staff and students to be warm and inviting. And there is a sauna you can use at no extra charge! Don’t waste your time and risk injury elsewhere.

Really amazing yoga classes! I love the atmosphere of the studio. The only things are that the classes get very very packed and your mat is almost certainly going to be inches away from the person next to you. It's also pricey, however the teacher are very good, they give you adjustments, and I think it's worth it. A note to management: I think it is unfortunate that there is a penalty from having to cancel online when you don't do it in time, whereas most of the time the classes are never full, and people just drop in anyways. It makes it so that I don't want to reserve online anymore, since my schedule often changes, and I have never had a problem not getting into a drop in class even at the busiest hours. But I think it should be encouraged to reserve ahead online, rather than many people avoiding it and dropping in instead so that we do not get penalized for the expensive class pass we purchased.

I love prenatal yoga classes at Kula Williamsburg. However, during the weekend when the cafe is open the studio has a strong smell of food. It’s hard to breeze well during the class. I have a feeling that I’m taking a yoga class in the kitchen.
Also, there are sounds from the kitchen when they make smoothies. It’s hard to relax when it’s so loud.

Not only was this a rigorous class but there the space was clean and nice looking. What was also really neat was the little cafe they have right there on premises. There was a real yoga feeling there where relaxation can be had in a city environment!

Beautiful space, thoughtful creative sequences, and challenging but not intimidating. And Kevin B sang to us at the end, which is always a plus. Great specials for new students too, so make sure to snag one of them.
