Front desk service was excellent, but whoever was working the juice bar tonight might need to be replaced. I specifically asked her twice what time she closed and she told me 9:30. I finished my workout at 9:13 and she said she was closed. That is absolutely ridiculous. I’ll be there at 8:59 pm tomorrow, hopefully she can make 20 smoothies for my friends and I at that time. 11/2025 Update: These days it feels like we’re always seeing the “closed for repair notice” but never see the repairs. Cardio Machines always creaking or are loose. Also it’s so frustrating making plans to go to the gym for the day at a certain time and then get the notification in the middle of the day that it’s closed! Or when you get there you find out it’s closed! Can we get an earlier notice about it at least!! The price we pay, we don’t deserve this inconsiderate service.

8/2025- This is my local gym. I don’t understand why it always smells sooo bad at the area going into the locker rooms. I swear I have to hold my breath before entering the area so I don’t throw up! I’m sure it’s coming from the men’s locker room and spills into the general locker room area 🤢🤮 2-3 out of 5 toilets are also usually clogged up and really dirty too.

And also, so many machines are broken and need maintenance. Less than half of the treadmills actually turn on and function smoothly. Same for the stair machines -2/5 are usually working. A number of machines are creaking like they need some wd40 like the ab machines smh

We spend so much on this place for the membership, I’m starting to think I made a mistake switching over from my old gym. Disappointing.

Still a good gym, but I must express my disappointment about a couple of things... They ended group fitness. There are the free classes but not Group Fit. That used to be a really good for me as it gave me structure for workouts and taught me many new exercises. Now, they removed all the exercise mats that used to hang on the rack and got rid of the large exercise mat area in the corner by the pool. There is now only one mat area between the staff desks and pool and often it is occupied. Not more than 2-3 people can use that at once. Please bring back the extra mat area and the individual mats that were hanging: you had many. Where did they go? And hope you can bring back Group Fit again. One additional matter: More attention to cleanliness please. Especially the restrooms.

I signed up for this Gym back a few months ago and started getting the high pressure tactics from the staff to sign up for coaching. My first impression of the place was that it was filthy. The toilets in the Men's locker room were plugged and overflowing, and it smelled rancid. Then I started getting calls from one of the trainers, hassling me for business.

Many of the machines here are outdated and don’t provide a full range of motion. I tried adjusting them to my preference and they just didn’t stay in place. It also doesn’t smell the best in here, I think it’s the carpets holding the smell.

The volleyball 🏐 is a great plus and made people and myself come here more.

The AC in the court is a hit or miss so when it’s off the floor can be dangerous and stops you from playing better because it starts to moist and become slippery so make sure your shoes have better grips because mine does but still not gripping well.
Wear better shoes so you don’t drop your face or head on the floor!

The cleanliness in the bathroom and shower needs to get better I’m so sick of holding my breath when I go in there 🤣
I’ve been in many gyms with a very well maintained bathrooms so I know that this one can be better lol .

Needs dusting too. If you go in the hottub and look up to the vent you’ll see what I’m talking about as a sample lol.
Other than that this location is pretty good with great potential I hope to see in the future!

Beware of LA Fitness!
Once you sign up, canceling your membership becomes nearly impossible. I’ve had a terrible experience with one of their locations. I’ve called more than five times trying to cancel, but each time I’m told to speak with the gym manager, Liz who has been “unavailable” and hasn’t answered a single call in over a week.

At this point, the only practical option seems to be disputing the charges with my credit card company and sending a written cancellation notice to their corporate office in California.

Don’t Get Caught in the Esporta/LA Fitness SCAM! I signed up just a month ago and was told by the sales associate that I would only need to pay the first and last month, followed by regular monthly dues. I specifically asked if there was an annual fee because I did not want to join if there was. I was assured there wasn’t. Fast forward one month, after I was charged $100 for the first and last month. I was charged the $60 annual fee. Now, they’re trying to charge me for monthly dues again. Once I realized what was happening, I canceled my card and called Elizabeth, the Club Manager who emailed me because the charge was declined. She admitted they had let the sales associate go after receiving multiple complaints about members being misled about the annual fee. However, Elizabeth told me there was nothing she could do, no refund, no credit, nothing. Her exact words were, “My hands are tied" because it's a corporate issue. I can’t help but wonder how many others have been scammed while Esporta/LA Fitness blames and fires the sales reps, yet keeps all the money. STAY AWAY!

I’m impressed with and happy to be part of the Amherst location. Jackson is the reason I joined, because of his welcoming and encouraging personality. The remainder of the staff has also been kind, but Jackson went out of his way and has even stayed late to help myself and a few friends sign up this week. He is personable and professional, and his genuine interest in where I’m at and what I want from my fitness habits doesn’t go unnoticed or unappreciated. This is the first gym that got me really into working on myself and exercising in a positive way! Staff is very pleasant and it never feels judgy. I wish the hours were even just an hour later. Classes are great, love Zumba and kickboxing cardio. Stairmasters and treadmills break often, but are maintenced in a decent amount of time. Overall great :)

Showers don't work very well and usually are nasty, sauna smells most of the time, ppl get their stuff stolen, weights/machines are mostly good and there are 3 or 4 I prefer to their equivalents at blasdell location ,lots of cardio machines also. Is a location that still has operational Pool and hot tub. Sometimes I have a good experience but other times I ask myself why did I drive farther to be annoyed, just to have hot tub after.

I’d rate this lower on company as whole but the Customer service I got from the specific person *Dakota* was exceptional.
He is EXTREMELY knowledgeable and helpful explaining my current membership as an Esporta member going to LA Fitness.

What I’m NOT happy about is how the other franchises makes me pay for a day pass at a gym in my hometown when I live out of state because of the name switch over even though I Paid in full. Don’t sign as an esporta member.

I have been a member for couple years now and use the hot tub mainly. I am overall very, very happy with the management and ownership as they are on top of the maintenance and repair as needed. Recently, the hot tub was in need of repair and they had it back up and running in a matter of days! Just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to everyone involved in making sure the members are able to access the facilities in good working order. Also wanted to mention this facility is going through a lot of cosmetic repairs and looking beautiful…THANK YOU!

I would give zero stars if it was an option.. They are the absolute worst company ever. Scammed me into a 6 month contract for personal training for when I had explained I had an unpredictable health condition and wanted 1-2 months of personal training. During signing I was never told it was a contract and a 6 month obligation and wasnt given time to read details and was not given a copy. When trying to break contract I had to get 2 different Dr notes since the first wasn't good enough. They dragged me along for 3 months saying I was going to get refunded for the sessions I didn't and couldn't use because of my medical issue flare up. After 3 months and of hours upon hours of calling and emailing I was told I didn't qualify for a refund and was not entitled to the sessions I paid for and didn't use because of breaking contract. They lied and dragged things out in hopes I would just give up. Everytime I would be told 24-48 hours or a call back, I never would hear back until i called or emailed again after a week of not hearing anything. The way the staff handled the situation was so unprofessional and unfair.

First, the swimming pool contains a very high level of chlorine, causing me to experience itching, skin rashes, and breathing difficulties for several days every time I use it.
Second, the lockers and bathrooms are not properly cleaned.
Third, if a piece of exercise equipment stops working, it remains out of order for months.
Fourth and most importantly, there are no services at all.

This is a great place to work out! I go about 3 times a week and it's always a good experience. They have plenty of different equipment for many kinds of exercises, they even have a pool if you'd like to change things up from basic weights or calisthenics. Their smoothie bar is a great addition if you're not sure what to do yourself, they have pre and post workout smoothies with plant based options available as well.
