I think they need to update some machines especially the stair master. The sauna is nice but I really don't like the customer Service at the front desk. I'm not sure why they have this young lady working up there. She seemed to be annoyed any time i had a question. She was honestly useless! She gave off the vibe that i was bothering her and clearly wanted me to get away from her so she can do nothing and go back on her phone. She didn't escalate my issue to a manager and when the manager happened to walk up to the desk asking her what the problem was HE didn't acknowledge my presence. Instead they both whispered and giggled like they were in high school. They made me feel so uncomfortable. Front desk suck! I ended up going to a different location (North Babylon) and simply canceled my membership. I will say I was met with professional SWEETER staff at the NORTH BABYLON location! The only nice lady at the commack location was the cleaning lady! She's super sweet!

Good price, excellent range of equipment, decent sauna. Maintenance and cleanliness need some improvement -- soap is frequently out in the showers, equipment wipe stations often empty, and there are drain flies in the showers recently. No pool at this location.

this location is small. not their fault. Its generally clean. I don't know who decides what equipment goes in each store. I would have to guess corporate. But this one NEEDS an update. Please add at least one more lat pulldown machine! There are only 2 and its always in use.

This is a great location, however the gym is in need of a major refresh and remodeling. The equipment is old and worn and and spaced very close together because there is not enough square footage. The men's lock room and bathrooms are unclean, notably the sinks and countertops.

On July 22nd, I got my membership, this location really awome with helping clients, friendliness between staff and other clients, overall really clean and pleasant when coming in. Phil and Scott were really awsome helping me with finances and tag teaming help me withbmy membership. Phil's PC went down and Scott assisted. This location really clean, and no matter what mood your in this place elevates your mood brining great vibes and happiness. I love working the bags especially after doing three years of kick boxing. Machines and cardio are really awaome, the machines in the back elliptical need wd 40 only because they don't glide easily as they should. I always have a fun time coming in. Staff is just amazing!

I’ve been a member a few years now and the young man that works the front desk on the weekends when they open at seven is awesome, he’s always there on time he’s friendly and a great representation for the gym. I’ve been to many gyms over the years and on the weekends the person that is supposed to open doesn’t show up and there’s people standing outside that never happens when he is working. I have to also say young man that was working this Saturday, July 5 cleaning is also phenomenal whenever I go this kid is working nonstop. In a world where it’s so hard to keep good employees these guys deserve a nice wage increase to keep them there as an incentive. I hope you take this suggestion and act on it.

I've been going to LA Fitness in Commack for about two months now, and overall, I really enjoy the experience. One of the things I absolutely LOVE is the Kids Club — it gives me peace of mind knowing my little one is in great hands while I get my workout in. The staff is caring and attentive, and it's such a helpful feature for parents!
My only concern is the step ladders. Unfortunately, most of the time they’re not working — usually only about three are working, which isn’t really enough during peak hours. I’d love to see them fixed or more added soon, as it’s such a popular piece of equipment and a key part of everybody workout routine.

Every time I come here a machine is down. Some people have tight schedules to get their workouts in and wake up to get here for 5am to get there whole workout in and it doesn’t always open at 5 sometimes 510-520…very frustrating and cuts my workout short and I’m sure cuts others short as well!

This might be the worst LA fitness on Long Island. For all the good reviews I’ve seen, they must have had people write a good review for them because they’re lying. All of the paper towel dispensers are broken off the walls in the bathroom, out of paper towels constantly, no soap in dispensers, sinks have zero water pressure or barely work at all, urinals and toilets are always dirty and look like they haven’t been cleaned. The men’s saunas wood has completely rotted and they have no even changed it out in years. The bench feels like it’s going to fall apart. Most of the lockers are dirty and the locks are broken off. The machines are damaged or broken most of the time. This gym needs serious updating and a over haul. I go to Smithtown and Levittown LA fitness and have none of these problems. I always see multiple people cleaning the gyms and it’s always nice and neat. Smithtown LA’s wood started to get damaged in the sauna and you know what they did? They replaced it and invested back into their business. I do not recommend this gym. Only reason I would go is for convenience and at this point I prefer to drive farther for a well maintained gym.

I just never find these clubs to be clean . No spray bottles, no paper towels. Just these little wipes, everyone leaves on the machines for someone else to remove. The sauna is usually filthy . The bathrooms i find to struggle as well . Low budget health club, and it shows

The gym is decent but the sauna hasn’t been working in OVER a month with just a sign saying it’s scheduled for service but it never gets fixed, half of the stair-masters do not work. Wish they would fix the issues and not leave them unattended for so long, would make the gym experience so much better.

Talk about a good gym. This gym is good. I like this gym. It’s good don’t even get me started on how good this gym is bc I’ll just keep going on about how good of a gym it is. If all gyms were this good then it would just be average, but not every gym is this good so that should tell this gym is good and let me tell you this gym is good. Plus the fact that this gym is so good is what makes it so good and don’t take my word for it go see for yourself and I bet you’ll be surprised and say to yourself gee what a good gym.

Commack location is mostly a pretty good gym except the men's showers are absolutely disgusting. Moldy walls and floors, clumps of hair left for days, just rarely superficially cleaned and never deep cleaned. A few are broken. If you don't need to shower you'll be fine at this gym but if you want to shower you'll need a hazmat suit.
UPDATE - Unbelievable... this is still what the showers look like after speaking to management and emailing. Are these pics gross enough?

The North Babylon facility is small but has all one needs for a good workout. The Lady whom is on the weekday janitorial staff is outstanding and really keeps the place nicely. The Farmingdale location on rt 110 needs a face lift and the recent change in janitor staff has so far been a real positive!

TARA is the best instructor around. I've been going to the body works class every Friday and I have to say she is amazing. She engages us with exercises that target every muscle, and what's better is she changes up the routines every week. The variation keeps the workouts fresh and enjoyable, making it a STANDOUT
experience. Her music is perfectly matched to the exercises which is something many instructors overlook. (her playlists are usually songs that are recognizable)
If you are looking for a well structured workout, definitely check out Tara's classes on the schedule.
