The club is very dirty and needs some maintenance. Rugs need to be replaced. The floors in the spin and workout room need to be cleaned. The bathroom tiles are moldy and dirty. This club isn't terrible but needs renovating!

My sister, husband and I just signed up for a family plan. Shane worked with us to get a membership customized to our exact needs! He was very helpful, understanding, kind and attentive. We look forward to being able to work on our fitness goals at this location. It’s much more spacious than other locations we checked out. I visited the gym for the first time recently, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience—thanks in large part to Shane, the manager. From the moment me and my husband walked in, Shane made us feel welcome and at ease, which really helped calm any nerves I had about starting out somewhere new.

He took the time to show us around, answer our questions, and made sure we felt comfortable with the equipment and the overall setup. It’s clear that he genuinely cares about creating a friendly, inclusive environment for everyone—whether you’re a beginner or a regular.

The gym itself was clean, well-organized, and had a great atmosphere, which I now realize is a direct reflection of Shane’s leadership. His approachable, professional attitude really stood out and made my first visit a positive one.

Wanted to cancel my membership told me I had to come in person what a joke there is absolutely no reason anyone should have to waste their time and gas just to cancel a membership

Ended up calling a different location and they took care of me no problem clearly this is just this locations silly rule

Also poorly maintained equipment for several months their flat adjustable benches were very worn down never fixed for months and same with the assault bike

I would highly recommend going to a different location or choosing a different gym all together

Sauna is not as hot as all the other la fitness it Max's out at 140 , the lindenhurst location is set properly at 210-215 degrees, if your using a Sauna for healing from surgerys or wellness, avoid bayshore the staff as no intrest in engaging on the subject and calling cooperate has gotten zero results 3x ,Lindenhurst or another location is a smarter choice , also bayshores Sauna is also the co ed men and women in the same room not the greatest idea for detoxifying and privacy, clean yes but it states on the door the Sauna is set to 180 degrees I have been in there many not once has it peeked over 148 , not a great choice for customes service or a saunas benefits, go to lindenhurst its worth the extra 10 min drive

LINDENHURST: SMOOTHIE COURT #¹ There are mice running around #² all of the workers never wash their hands#³used equipment not washed out with soap and warm/hot water, just rinsed. Most of the staff their heads are down always, and on dirty phones. and there (1)chick,it's seen and apparent she likes to gossip with ppl who visit the counter or a female from the front desk
LOCKER ROOM(#¹)nowhere to privately undress nor dress. just gossip, there was a hidden 📷 in the locker room(#²)Water fountains aren't cleaned periodically built up green mold and caking where parts meet or the spaces.(#³)dust everywhere above NEVER WIPED DOWN.(#⁴)THE SAUNA IS NEVER CLEANED OUT with soap and water at end of day. I used to like going to this gym, but going at night I feel like there are alot of problems. Too much broken equipment which hasn't been fixed. Too many people hog the machines. Young kids come in to hang out and smell like marijuana when they work out and come in. It's ridiculous. This staff takes no accountability and think it's acceptable that it's OK. Also there is a lack of paper towels or soap for bathrooms. Never thought I'd say this but I'd consider leaving if they don't shape up and get it together.

The facility itself is a valuable asset, and being so close to it is a big plus. I went inside and noticed that it was clean and spacious, without too much of a rush. When we went to sign up, we worked with Shane, who was very attentive and seemed to understand our needs even before we expressed them. It only took a small conversation for him to figure everything out. I would definitely recommend him as the person to talk to when you sign up; he will ensure that you feel welcomed and motivated to come to the gym. Overall, I felt really good about the experience!

I really dislike how la fitness, almost wish there were some more corporate policies for regulations on the equipment and building as stuff is either broken, not 100%, or simply just gross and unclean. And anytime they do renovate(like the bathrooms) they do a half assed job. Its just plain frustrating here (Most La Fitness are, just this one especially) hate that its the most convenient. Farmingdale, north babylon, smithtown, and lake grove are all far better and cleaner

I have been coming to this gym for years and I love it. They have such a large variety of equipment and this is one of the largest LA Fitness' I have seen. With the great amount of equipment they have it's not super crammed in there either. Whether you're into strength training, cardio, or group classes, there's something here for everyone. If equipment is broken they are quick to bring it back to service as well. The staff is always super helpful and friendly to everyone. Shane and Brian especially are always super helpful. Overall a great gym and a great environment to work out in I highly recommend checking this gym out.

The gym has terrible ventilation especially in the basketball court. There is not even a fan in there. It gets so hot and humid that the floor gets slippery and almost every day someone gets hurt from slipping. Management won't do anything. It's a matter of time before someone gets seriously injured and sues. They keep the outside door to the court closed because some kids were sneaking their friends in. Instead of banning those kids, they decide to shut down the court for a week. This makes no sense to punish people who pay for a gym membership solely to use the court. Hopefully something gets done soon or I will escalate.

Me and my brother go to this area and there is non stop variety, hell before i knew this place i didn't know they had THAT much cardio machines and others, even a whole basketball court to enjoy, and a pool as well. Their cafe has a lot of options to enjoy and the receptionists are kind to everyone who enters. Overall this place deserves to have another location in Lindenhurst. 100/10

The layout of the gym is a little strange in my opinion, BUT they have a lot of stuff and it doesn't feel that cluttered even when packed. After Centereach closed, the Patchogue and Smith Haven gyms became the best ones for me (S TIER). Lindenhurst and North Babylon are great (A TIER). Skip over Bay Shore (D TIER).

I don’t understand how this place has a 4.5 rating. I only went to this gym for 2 months and payed a ton of money to sign up! Only to realize that this gym is a legitimate dump! Machines are out of date and a majority of them don’t work. It was beyond disorganized all the equipment. Not one person was there reorganizing any of it! Management is desperate need at this location. Plus the theft stories being shared online I would stay far away from here. Save your money and save your belongings from this location. Switched to planet fitness down the road couldn’t be happier!

Overall the gym is pretty nice, sometimes the machines are broken and not fixed promptly. My main concern is the temperature in the gym feels like I am in South Florida in July. Mr Mc'feely and I just try to get a quick pump and it is so Damm hot 🔥 in there we just can't enjoy our workout. Please lower the heat 🥵 Maybe get a space heater up front if they are cold.

This is a solid gym with a great variety of equipment for pretty much any workout. There’s plenty of machines and free weights, so you’re never left waiting too long, even when it’s busy.

The only downside is the dumbbells and plates are often all over the place. It can get frustrating trying to hunt down the right weights when people don’t re-rack them. If they could stay on top of that a bit more, it’d make the gym experience even better.

Overall, it’s a great place to work out, just needs a little more order in the dumbell area!

When I was training at this gym, my lock was broken and all my money was stolen. There was a large amount of money in there. The gym staff has not wanted to resolve this issue for 3 days now. I do not recommend a gym where you are being blatantly robbed and no one cares. I am very disappointed.

Great gym so far, they re-opened the right way, clean. Plenty of machines, cardio, and free weights. Though the Dumbells could be in better order, kind of just randomly placed on the rack all over. Overall pretty good.

Update: still the dumbells are random and have zero order whatsoever. And sauna is closed still.
Update: machines are still broken, cardio machines are broken, paper towels rarely get refilled and some are broke now. 0 stars if it was possible. Gym is falling apart.
Update: Dumbbells are even worse than before, in zero order and all over the place, plates are not in order as well. Cleanliness is down
Edit sept 2022: Dumbells are the same and maybe even worse, machines breaking, dirty still, and either the management or owner doesn't care because it shows. Unorganized, not clean, and broken. Most wouldn't be a problem if you can see they at least care but that doesn't seem to be the case.
Edit March 2023: Dumbells never fixed, machines are broken, punching bag missing and 1 is broken/leaking and they leave it up. New girl with nose ring behind juice bar is rude. Seems nothing gets fixed or cared about, looking at new gyms now. The sauna did finally get completely fixed though which is nice.
EDIT Aug 2023:
Would recommend not joining this gym, find a better one. Nothing gets fixed, so many treadmills are broke and have been for months and months, dumbells never get arranged in order. High school kids crowd the gym and vape in it and workers don't say anything. Gym fell apart.

Do not waste your time with this gym. Not sure how they're still in business. Dumbells never fixed, almost all... yes almost all the machines do not have a pin for the weight stack. Employees seem to not care at all, 1 employee male with blond hair is the only one says hey and have a goodnight and seems to actually like his job and shows he cares. Honestly save your money and go to a better gym which shouldn't be hard compared to this one.

Beautiful Gym. Unfortunately I have a torn meniscus in my knee and had to cancel. After several fee's and speaking to 4 different people from HQ, Nick was so kind and treated me with compassion and handled the situation with grace. Phenomenal environment for a gym!!!
This truly feels like a real fitness community, that is welcoming and helpful. There isn’t your typical judgmental “gym bro”, though there are some who look that way, they’re usually the most friendly and helpful with workout tips, and willingness to help spot if you aren’t working out with a workout partner.

Most of the patrons are very respectful and always wipe down their machines after using them, of which there are sanitization stations that dispense sterilizing cleaning wipes throughout the facility.

They also have a pool, jacuzzi, basketball court, a boxing body bag, and smaller (torso sized) round body bag, individual saunas per gender specific locker room (1x sauna in women’s locker room, 1x sauna in the men’s locker room), a dance/zumba studio with daily classes, a cycling room with daily classes, and they have a Juice Bar which makes delicious and healthy smoothies for your post workout nutritional needs.

Only reason im giving this place a 5 and not a 3 is because the staff is awesome.
Doesnt have any soft handles and only 1 rope. I dont think its the managers faults but this is pathetic lol. I think people steal the stuff.

Either way, expect a busy gym at almost any hour of the day. Expect not to be able to use cable ropes or handles cuz they are usually occupied. Some of the Cable machines are broken so doing chest flies is near impossible.

That being said, the maintenance people are friendly and keep the gym pretty clean. The weights are 3/4 racked lol. The one manager is a super cool dude and you can catch him working out at the end of the day. Probably one of the better LA fitness locations on the island next to Patchogue.

I am a new member to LA Fitness in Lindenhurst. I have been to many other gyms and this is the best one I have been to. The facility is amazing and has ample equipment and many class options. It is clean and has a good vibe. The staff is knowledgeable and caring and gives top notch customer service. The manager Shane does an excellent job and takes care of its’ members. I feel very welcomed and so excited to continue to be a part of this gym.
