clean - staff are super friendly (used to be - not anymore) and not so welcoming and the NRGize Lifestyle Cafe smoothie folks they are still good - especially the Indian Cats behind the counter - entire everyone from cashier to Smoothie makers are awesome A never had a really tasty filled with all the good stuff blended so well
- especially their Pineapple 🍍🥥🍊 coconut and Orange Mega smoothie with Whey and fat burner
However after 6 months - I’ll have to change my review to a 1 star - rude members especially old ladies that take up one side of the cable and put their homeless shelter bag on the other and rudely tell other members she’s using it when she’s clearly not … 5 min her homeless bag is still there … dumbbells are not in their place and missing - found all over the gym… machine and cable broken down after 2 months - missing handle bars - closed grips - and cable latch locks either missing broken or broken or permanently sealed - it’s disgusting - again look what it’s filled with imagine going to their dirty homes

This has to be the worst location in the entire chain, it has always been mediocre at best but I recently just had a horrendous experience that will most likely lead to my cancellation, to be short I go to gym on Sunday leave my headphones there on accident call on Monday an employee confirms that he saw them earlier in the day and that they possibly put them in the safe to hold and that I should call a manager the next day when someone is in, Tuesday I call many times each call goes unanswered and rings for up to 10 minutes without any action, this happened at least six times, and there were about three other times where someone would answer and say "hold on one second" and then hang up immediately after, Wednesday I had the exact same experience, Thursday I take time out of my morning and away from work to go in and attempt to pick up my lost item that was confirmed on Monday, only for them to tell me that they threw it out ($200 pair of headphones) the manager I began speaking (kaelani) with was incredibly rude, hilariously disrespectful, when I asked her if there was anyone I could talk to to have some sort of resolve for them throwing out my headphones her first thought was "you can call the cops if you think we wronged you", not to mention that she was very blunt and dismissive beforehand when I asked her to check this safe for my headphones, upon her excessive and dismissive comment recommending that I immediately call the cops she begins to walk away in the middle of me talking to her, as I talk to her and try to find some sort of resolution to the absurdity of the situation (holding on to someone's expensive property and just throwing it away immediately after they called to make sure it was there so they could pick it up) she gave me attitude the entire time wouldn't even look at me seem to have no motivation to do anything except tell me to kick rocks and go away, after 10 minutes of dealing with her horrible presents, she got the operations manager Erika involved, who to my surprise was actually incredibly pleasant, well spoken, attentive and intelligent (something the rest of the staff seems to lack) so we did come to a resolution of refunding me one month of membership which is only content to me because I could genuinely tell that's all she could do but it's still absurd that you're going to have a lost and found only to throw it out the following day, as a side note to the joke of this location on top of no one answering calls and hanging up when they do answer, the very few times I was able to actually speak with an employee no one knew anything, one person said maybe the janitor had it another person said that they throw everything out once a month another person said that they throw it out once a week and another person just owned up to the fact that they didn't know anything about the process, and lastly the gym is always a disaster, you can never find weights where they're meant to be, machines are broken for months on end, people are masturbating in the showers and saunas, and I have even had a couple of rude experiences with personal trainers, this location has always been a joke but this whole experience with the lost and found at the buckle has really set me over the edge and I can only pray that this message gets across to every single potential member and encourages them to never sign up, and that this gets to some form of superior other than the manager's named and that they can undergo some serious improvement (aside from Erica she seems fine) luckily this is a secondary gym for me, if you like LA fitness and have a facility within 30 minutes of you other than this one I can guarantee you it's worth the drive to avoid this place like the plague

I’ve been calling day after day with no one picking up, and I’m contacting this location over an urgent matter that needs to be addressed. Absolutely unacceptable behavior and my boyfriend will be canceling his membership, and I will not be considering LA fitness for a membership.

Staff isnt responsive, sit on their phones at the front desk. Have to give my ID for dumb ammenities like a foam roller. Weights are all over the place and hard to find. Their basketball courts have been closed for years. On top of all this they dont answer the phone so its hard to freeze or cancel membership without going in. Better than some other LA fitness but overall they are all terrible gyms.

The guy saw me walk into the gym with a basketball “ball” and made me wait 20 minutes, even though I only had a 3-day free access pass. After making me wait, he finally told me there was no basketball court something he could have said right away. I was so pissed off. I don’t recommend this place to anyone; very poor customer service.

What I liked:
-The sheer size of the facility is impressive — this is one of the biggest LA Fitness locations I’ve been to. Lots of space to move around, plenty of machines, ample zones for cardio, free weights, and functional training.
-With the large footprint, it’s less crowded than many smaller gyms I’ve tried, especially during off-peak hours.
-The variety means you can shift routines easily: switch from cardio to machines to pool or classes without feeling cramped.
What could be better:
-Some of the equipment and machines feel a bit dated: older treadmills, some wear and tear on benches and weight plates. It doesn’t feel “brand-new” or cutting-edge in all areas.
-While the large size is a plus, it also means sometimes it takes a moment to find exactly the machine or area you want — signage could help more.
-As with larger gyms, sometimes you feel less of that boutique, personalized vibe — if you’re after a very modern, stylised gym experience, this might fall a little short.
I’d give it 4 stars out of 5. Because of the size and variety of equipment, it hits the mark for a strong workout facility. But because some of the machines are older and the experience isn’t quite top-tier modern, it doesn’t earn a full five.
Tip: Go during an off-peak time (mid-afternoon or early evening) to take full advantage of the spacious layout and avoid peak-time congestion. Also, if you have a go-to machine, it’s worth checking whether it’s recently serviced or newer in that section.

I’ve been a loyal LA Fitness member for years, training at several locations across Long Island. Unfortunately, the boxing areas have been neglected. Two locations removed their boxing setups entirely, and the Lake Success gym (the last one left) recently spent months redoing its flooring twice due to epoxy issues.
After all that time, the heavy bags they put back up are in poor condition: torn leather, ripped seams, and what appear to be old blood stains. Members bring their own gloves, so hitting these damaged and possibly unclean bags feels unsafe and unhygienic.
It’s disappointing to see such a lack of care for both member safety and equipment quality. I genuinely hope LA Fitness addresses this, it’s a basic health concern, and loyal customers deserve better.

The gym is generally well-maintained and clean, which I really appreciate. However, many of the weight machines are missing the stickers or labels that indicate the weight levels. It makes it hard to know how much you’re lifting or track progress accurately. A quick fix with new markers would make a big difference in the overall experience.

Absolutely disgusting do not go barefoot, almost all free weights are missing since 2020 no replacements, managers are apathetic
Missing equipment (stolen and not replaced for years) damaged equipment, terrible hygienic state everywhere especially pool and bathroom (do not go barefoot) but they installed 10k$ worth of TV monitors that aren't even setup properly. Manager let's thief members back, no one puts their used equipment back to its proper location. This is supposed to be the flagship location and it is by far the worst gym ever

I am really in shock because I just found out, the manager Erika Sanchez was the one who brought Blink fitness down, You could search on the internet, and you'll find all the details about her performance during the time she worked there, she was a total mess, that explain why her careless behavior now at LA fitness, dirty bathroom, she is never available to discuss any issue, I am amazed how after destroying Blink Fitness, now she is working here, I will have to cancel my membership, she is very unprofessional.

Now I understand why this location went dial in service and. Erika Sanchez was the manager the brought down the quality and service that Blink gym was providing in Jackson Heights, she basically destroyed the gym and also she was very unprofessional she has a lot of attitude. She wanted to show that she got some sort of power, if you try to talk to her regarding about a situation it was very difficult so I've been a member of LA Fitness for a while and I just find out that she's in one of the member services at the locations that I used to go, because of that I decided to cancel my membership.

People are using the saunas as a dryer and as a seat for their bags, which makes it difficult for others to sit and use the space as intended. It would be helpful to have staff monitor the saunas periodically to ensure proper use and maintain cleanliness and accessibility for everyone.

One of the worst LA gym is 1111 Marcus av LA gym , before I enrolled they said they get heated pool and Jacuzzi 24 hour in 5 day . There pool not heated at all almost every day I see it’s cold and jacuzzi as well . Whenever I ask the stuff about it, reply was by next week every thing will be fixed and I heard that since 2 month . It’s never been fixed. One of the front employees looks like Asian guy with the beard on, he is super disrespectful.
I just canceled my membership cause of him and for the pool & jacuzzi

I joined LA Fitness in new Hyde park had an encounter with easy and Jimmy on the weekend which gives us a false details of when we sign up for gym membership. Easy and Jimmy seems nice at the beginning until after you finished signing up. We walked to the entire gym and was told that we can access things that was told and later on was approached if we paid for it. What an embarrassing moment. We were told that Jimmy and easy always does the same thing. Stating wrong information to have you signed up. We have been reaching out to Jimmy regarding the trainer and gave us a trainer that cannot fit in our schedule. I went to cancel my membership ship and training sessions and they keep on bouncing me back from different people. John the manager kept on telling me that he will call me back, a week went by and no call was returned. I kept on calling and they kept on saying John is on break or with a client and doesn’t know when is he coming back. I given a suggestion to keep on calling back but my response is if the person doesn’t want to speak with you and doesn’t have no answer, why call back.
Update: Now is September 23, 2025 and still haven’t gotten any answer from Jimmy and John ( the new Hyde park manager) Jimmy ( the person that’s in charge to sign up for trainers? said that he had gotten sick and can’t even delegate the task to the manager. I have never gotten any answer from both of them.

The jacuzzi at this LA Fitness is a joke. It’s out of service almost every month, and this time it’s been down for nearly three weeks. They even posted a sign saying it would be fixed by September 8, but it’s September 16 and still not working. Members are paying for amenities that are constantly unavailable. This feels like false advertising and poor management. If you actually care about using a jacuzzi, don’t count on this location.

It's nice cus it has a lot of machines for everything. There are a ton of upfront fees for "first month and last month" but then you still get charged the first monthly membership fee.
The gym itself has lots of machines which was the initial appeal for me. However upon further inspection most of the pulley machines for rows and lats have rocking weights which will drag sometimes. There isnt a handle station so people just buy and bring their own handles so there aren't many options for changing your grip. Additionally if you want dumbbells below 35lbs good luck. People take them with them all over the gym and they have uselessly large weights readily available.
Although the extra machines are nice for not waiting. The nonsense membership fee and the quality of machines and dumbbells section would push me to go back to planet fitness.

The facility is spacious with ample parking, making access convenient. While it can become busy during peak hours, members are generally still able to complete their workouts.
The sales team tends to overpromise on certain offerings, particularly regarding personal training schedules. Although coaches are available, sessions are not always honored at the exact times initially promised.
Cleanliness is on par with most commercial gyms in New York City. However, issues such as dust accumulation on machines, weights scattered across the floor, and inconsistent organization are noticeable. For a location branded as an Elite Club, expectations for higher standards are reasonable. Compared to other premium gyms, such as Life Health Fitness located in White Stone, the level of cleanliness and organization falls short. Issues such as paper left on the ground, bathrooms with strong odors, and broken machines that remain unrepaired highlight gaps in maintenance. While cleaning staff are present, the facility may be understaffed relative to the level of upkeep required.
Overall, I would rate the facility a 2 out of 5. If it were not marketed as an “Elite Club” and if the sales team had delivered more consistently on their commitments, I would have rated it closer to 3.5.

This gym allows any dog in despite a person may be fearful of dogs that doesn't matter to them I done seen small dogs big , dogs doesn't matter and keep in mind these aren't service dogs people are just strolling in with there dogs and some of them smell and coming right beside with no care not to mention the grass area. How is a dog being on grass then me. Going with my bare skin on that grass hygienic ? Like stop already this place needs to be closed it's a free for all in here
The representatives pick and choose what to address and almost feels very racial. I had an incident where my towel was on the machine and I went to grab a weight real quick the guy touched my towel and put it on my bag on the floor that's next to the machine with some of the towel hanging on the floor so I told him about himself and he went to staff and the older black lady that has a desk comes to me and says is everything ok yes miss how about you tell him don't touch people stuff. Now the following week I'm on the pull down machine and this guy comes with this massive dog and it smells and plops right next to me I got to the same lady and she says it does nothing doesn't even tell me the policy
Just like the sauna guys are completely naked in there I go to the Spanish gentleman think he was a supervisor to tell him about it his EXACT words were used the other sauna smh
So I'm supposed to get up and leave where I'm at because someone wants to come around other grown man naked make it make sense cause it doesn't one bit
The weights are NEVER out back
The sauna been closed for 3 months now
The boxing area has been fixed more times in 2 months then I can count hopefully this time it won't be open for 2 weeks and closed for 3

There should be a case study on the disorganization of the free weights here. Every single dumbbell is forever lost from its pair, tucked somewhere next to the front of a treadmill or near the front of the locker room. Patrons and staffs are somehow unconsciously conspiring together to make this gym the biggest trip hazard on the face of this earth. Quite soon, a geriatric client will be walking across the minefield towards her silversneakers class, trip, fall, and break her hip. Oh no, lawsuit. Oh jeez, headache. My husband and I have been attending this gym for about 2 months, going on 3. This is a great gym as far as location, convenience and it being spacious. However, we signed up for personal training with the intention we’d only be trying it for a month and then cancelling. Behind our back Jimmy (a personal trainer) decided it was a good idea to charge us for 9 months. Leaving us stuck to pay for a subscription we don’t have money for. Go figure.
Do yourself the favor of avoiding this gym all together, or, if you do go, avoid personal training.
It isn’t worth it anyway.

The client experience here is genuinely laughable. Aside from old, busted equipment; every other machine is scheduled to be serviced, which takes a good month or two to get done. The staff are a joke, either completely apathetic, or trying to solicit you every other day for personal training sessions. It’s abundantly clear the only concern here is making money. Not a shred of gym etiquette in sight. You’re better off going to the LA on Stewart Ave if you don’t mind the 15 min drive.

If I could give this gym negative five stars I would. I’ve been working out for almost 30 years of my life, and I have never step foot in a more poorly run business gym or facility in my entire life. God forbid you want a pair of matching dumbbells, good luck! There is hardly any members at this gym with any gym etiquette. Good luck finding a manager, the manager never shows up and could care less about the facility. The only reason I go to this gym is because it’s convenient to work and I will be changing gyms as soon as possible. The bathrooms are disgusting, equipment is broken all over the place and never fixed. A couple of weeks ago I saw a woman vomit on the floor and leave it there. It wasn’t cleaned up for over an hour and people were stepping over puke to grab their weights. If I tried my hardest to run the worst gym on planet Earth, it would be better than this place. Save yourself don’t join this gym.

Angel is one of the trainers and assists you with everything with his kind and charming personality is by far one of the best reasons to go.

EDIT: A real hassle to cancel the PT (Personal Training) contract even though I have a solid reason to do so - leaving the country. I strongly advise you to not get caught up in it. Hire a private trainer for a fixed sum without getting sucked into a contract. Do you know they will charge you $71 or so for each session and the trainer gets like $7-15?
The 1 star is for the availability of the facilities. The other removed stars are for poor hygiene, broken machines, too expensive for initial usage, and PT contract headache.
They messed with my father as well. He went for the once a week session for 3 months. He was unable to complete the sessions for the 2nd and 3rd month due to his physiotherapist saying that he was allowed to train only nominally (knee surgery). They still charged him. He had to do a chargeback and is visiting in person even with his poor physical condition.
They are still emailing, calling, and texting me asking me to pay late fees and monthly fees even after I told them I physically went for cancellation and am abroad right now. They, of course, refuse to listen. Be very careful with them!
Too expensive for what it offers - initially at least.
I got hit with a registration fee, an annual fee, plus first and last month’s dues—ended up paying over $200 just to get started. Unless you’re planning to stay for years, it’s just not worth it. Way too pricey as an upfront investment.
Machines are often out of order, and it feels like maintenance is always behind. Wipes and hand sanitizers are limited—not stocked in abundance. Gym etiquette is lacking: people don’t re-rack weights, slam them, or clean up after themselves. Part of that is probably because of the limited wipes.
Now the good: I genuinely enjoyed the swimming pool, sauna, and hot spa. Their Recovery Center is excellent—but costs $179/month extra. The red light therapy, cryotherapy, compression sleeves, and hydro massage beds are all great. I wish more people could access them without such a steep monthly fee.
The personal training program, though, felt very upsell-heavy. I don’t want to hear about $500/month for three 30-minute sessions per week. It just doesn’t add up.
Also, I signed up for their program and never got the book I was promised.
If you’re in New York, you should know there's a new law passed by the state assembly—you can cancel within 3 days, even if you're in a contract.
Overall: unless you’ve got a group you’re coming with, a lot of free time, and disposable income, I’d be cautious. I met some great people here—but if I knew then what I know now, I probably wouldn’t have joined.

Writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction regarding a recent membership purchase and the subsequent refusal of a refund.
In July, my family purchased a full-year membership for around $600. The representative who assisted us clearly stated that the pool was accessible for children and that a kids' club was available. Our primary reason for this membership was for our child to use the swimming pool, as I do not use the gym facilities.
Upon our first visit in early August, we were informed by the front desk staff that our child would need to purchase separate swimming classes to use the pool and could not swim with us. This directly contradicts the information provided during the membership purchase. We then realized this membership is unnecessary for our needs.
When we contacted your corporate number for cancellation, we were instructed to visit the store of purchase and speak with the store manager to override the charge and receive a refund, especially since the membership has never been used. How is this considered a functioning gym when none of the cardio equipment works? Every single treadmill and elliptical is either broken, outdated, or a safety hazard. I nearly injured myself on a treadmill that suddenly jerked mid-run—something that could’ve caused serious harm if I hadn’t caught myself.
It’s absurd that with the amount of money this gym brings in from its massive member base, basic equipment maintenance isn’t even happening. Do you really think it’s acceptable to let machines fall apart while charging full membership fees?
It’s not just disappointing—it’s dangerous. And if someone actually gets hurt (worse than I did), I hope you’re ready to answer for that legally.
Fix it. All of it. Or stop pretending this is a gym and admit it’s a liability waiting to happen.

As others have mentioned, the lack of organization and re-rack of the dumbbells and weight plates is a major issue. It's not just that they are out of order, they are scattered all around the gym, making it impossible to find the ones you need. This has been an issue for YEARS and the fact that so many people have complained and nothing has been done speaks volumes about the management of this location.

These reviews are not nearly as critical as they can be. For the last 15 years I have worked out throughout suffolk, nassau, and queens. Everywhere between Planet fitness to equinox. This is the WORST GYM BETWEEN KINGS COUNTY AND SUFFOLK COUNTY. Yes.. the worst, i have worked out at unique, retro, college facilities, planet fitness, mom and pops, 24 hour fitness.. you name it. It’s marketed as a “signature series” to attract volume from queens, and greater nassau. when in actuality, a third LA fitness is needed in this area. Everything from the dumbell section, the gym cleanliness, the gym culture/etiquette, the machine upkeep and maintainence is the worst I have ever experienced. Unless you just want a cardio equipment.. your workout quality will likely be better elsewhere.
You can tell a lot about a gym by its dumbell section. There are no dumbbells…. they’re either stolen, across the entire gym (to have been never returned) or there missing pairs. I have come at 4-5am and have had more difficulty with the dumbbells than I’ve had at the garden city location during peak rush hour. The gym can be empty.. but the dumb bell section will still be a mess and just annoying. It will totally take you out of your workout focus.. and it will usually disrupt your workout timing, schedule, etc. Same with the cables.
The free weight/machine section is dangerous. It looks like a 2 year olds play room the way plates are scattered literally everywhere. The machines are not often.. but always and consistently broken. always. while they boast more machines than other locations.. they probably actually have the same amount or less because most are out of commission.. or sketchy. Beware signing a health waiver here… your more likely a machine malfunction on you here opposed to elsewhere.
Locker rooms… not the dirtiest ever. I’ll give it that. Always out of papertowels, hand dryers usually always broken. They have 2 saunas that are usually warm and not hot. that’s just the nature of the higher volume. During the weekdays… don’t even bother with the sauna. They advertise a thermal sauna which has been broken forever. pools and hot tubs are okay.. water is cloudy depending on when you go.
I don’t know whether they need less front desk.. but they absolutely need more people for maintainence and doing walk arounds. I have been to gyms where the front end will provide a presence and set the tone and culture for the gym. There is PLENTY to do on the floor. Make a re-racking policy and enforce it. The girls at the front will usually always have their faces stuffed in their phones. The guys are more vocal and will occasionally say “hey” or “take care”. If they were picking up weights it wouldn’t matter… but you’re not picking up weights… annnd you can’t even greet anyone (not always but mostly). We check in ourselves… and if anything membership related is needed your referred to sales… so what are they doing all day. Hire more support staff for gym upkeep.
all in all.. you don’t gotta fix nothing.. just charge less. But there’s no way this gym should be the same cost as the other LA fitnesses across queens and long island. Enforce a re-racking policy, fix the machine, hire more maintenance or have the front end get involved with picking things up because they’re on their phones 9 times out of 10.

I recently came back to this particular LA Fitness gym after 2 yrs. How are the same exact machines from 2 yrs ago still broken!!??!!. The parking lot towards the back is still filthy and full of sand/dirt. The machines are filthy, cushions/padding all deflated,torn and broken. There is one maybe two stations for sanitary wipes on the main floor for the entire gym. But the trainers have the audacity to approach you to sign up for paid training so you can give this place more of your money. As a basic member I can't use the machines I'm entitled to use as part of my membership- but you want more of my money? I've been a member here since 2013-2015 but I've had it with this place and I'm ready to move on to another gym. The amount of money the location charges no longer matches the quality of service (and its been like that for years now). Shame on this brand for letting it get to this point and shame on the management at this location for not caring about its customers.

I visited the LA Fitness gym with my friend who loves playing racquetball, and we were impressed by the experience. UPDATE: I did the complimentary pilates classes Thursday morning & loved it. Wanted to sign up but when I got to the counter I was directed to go back to talk with one of the sales manager but I was in a hurry and had to leave. Later that evening I received a call & it was Erica asking how I found the pilates class. I expressed that I loved it and actually wanted to sign but was in a hurry earlier. She offered to do it right there over the phone. While I was on, I remember it was her name I was given when I complain about the dust. So I asked if she was the manager & went ahead to tell her about the dust. HELLO SOMEBODY, a day later I went to the gym and she got it clean!!!!! Listen, that speaks volume for me!!!! I went to look for her after my pilates class on Friday, just to say hi & introduce myself and she was the most pleasant and sweet person.
LESSON: Give people a chance to course correct. We are all humans. Some things make take longer than others but have direct conversation before we cast judgment. Thank you Erica, I appreciate you not only hearing my concerns but course correct in such a quick manner. I remover my original pictures and will replace it with better picture
I wanted to give this gym a 5 star because I never experienced overcrowding as I don’t go during peek hours. The gym looks clean from eye level which is what most people will notice. I took a break for 9mths & notice that once you look up the dusting is impossible. I have very bad allergies so I always notice excessive dust.
I asked the front desk person who was the manager on duty & he was very reluctant & I had no time. So I asked for the corporate number. Do better LA Fitness!!! Cleaning is not just sweeping & mopping the floor.
Being on the second floor these pipping are right over our heads & those black lines you see in the photo- dust very thick layers of dust.

I’ve been a member at this LA Fitness location in New York for almost a year, and unfortunately, the cleaning service is extremely poor — I would rate it 2 out of 10. There are two saunas, but one has been out of service the entire year and never gets fixed. The one that works is often overcrowded and very dirty. The bathrooms are consistently unclean, with soap frequently missing, and there’s a clear lack of responsibility when it comes to cleaning and maintenance. Many workout machines are constantly out of order, and there’s always something broken. This gym has great potential, but the poor maintenance and hygiene standards make the experience disappointing

I had terrible service, I was served by an agent named Izzy, which was the name the receptionist gave me. He charged me $20 for a one-day pass, which I paid in cash. At the time, I asked for my receipt. He didn't give it to me and told me that he couldn't give me a receipt. Why? I asked the receptionist again and she didn't know what to tell me about my receipt. She also had a bad attitude when offering me the plan. This is really not right, and any establishment should give a receipt for what you are paying.

The gym has plenty of machines for all body workouts. Staff is courteous and friendly . Sauna room is tiny but does the work. Classes were packed and big lines outside the room before the start of the class. Additional cardio equipment on the second floor. They also have Rezen facility for massage chairs and guns. Additional monthly subscription for that though. They have a trainers location in the middle of the gym. Only water fountain is at the back of the gym close to the basketball court. Did not use their towel services.

This is absolutely the filthiest gym I have ever been to. From the women’s locker room and showers to the pool and jacuzzi. The walls of the pool are absolutely disgusting with filth and built up hair products and body products.
What is really sad is they just closed the entire month of March for maintenance and cleaning and it was just as filthy when it reopened as it was when it closed.
The staff seems friendly enough and the personal trainers are very good at what they do, but when you are paying for the membership and the personal training you would expect that the place would be clean and equipment would be in good working condition.
This is not the case. Many times the staff that should be maintaining the space is too busy on their phones and god forbid management would walk around to see exactly how bad this place is.
Last week I came in for an evening aqua fit class and the amount of chlorine that they used in the pool and jacuzzi was so overwhelming that the fumes were burning my lungs and eyes. It also made me very sick to my stomach.
I believe that they need to hire someone who is going to make the cleaning and maintenance of the facility a priority.

If the term "big for nothing" was a gym it would be this LA fitness. Looks pretty from the outside and has the potential to be a great gym, it just isn't. The one thing thats obvious is its owners are perfectly happy with the sad state it’s in. There aren't any house rules or anyone to hold members accountable when it comes to cleaning up after oneself / re-racking weights. Good luck finding the dumbbells you need. Im sure it’s doing fine financially but corporate should step in for the franchises reputation.

If I could put 0 stars I would. 80% of the machines are broken!!!! I almost gashed my head on stairmaster!!! I bent down to tie my shoe and didn’t notice the handle didnt have the rubber on it! I had an huge bruise and pain on my head for 2 weeks. I literally could’ve died or gotten a concussion!!! And now you can’t even film yourself!!!!!!! I almost signed up for Pilates but hell no. The only reason why I still go to LA is bc it’s the closest to my home. Most of the machines are broken and you can’t ever find any weights! Recommendation: take your money elsewhere! I just signed up today but the experience of singing up to this gym was truly tarnished by Izzy. I went to enroll in a family plan to which he insisted I get my own plan, after declining the offer a couple of times I signed up for a family plan with my friend. The whole time he was doing the sign up he was on his phone or just looking all over the place. To which I asked hey can you lock in please so he can get my information in. His response was to start typing with one hand and still using his phone on the other. In the end a trainer who said he was one of the managers came over to talk about the assessment & I said hey can you just keep in mind for next time for Izzy to get off his phone and not just rush through the whole process Izzy starts getting hostile. I even apologized for offending him for saying that but he was not backing down even while the “other manager” was there.
Regardless he was just not professional at all. I should have read the reviews before going, what’s said about him is true he’s very rude and unprofessional. Also I was given an assessment and they tried to sell me on that to which I declined & I never got a tour of the gym or shown where the locker rooms where. It leaves a bitter taste. If you sign up have someone who is patient and wants to help you not this Izzy who’s just getting a quick commission and doesn’t give a crap about you.
