This location is by far the cleanest and most comfortable location out of the several I have frequented. The staff is welcoming, the weights are always where they are supposed to be. Sauna gets 180+. And they make great shakes as well. Recommend this location for anyone looking for an all around nice gym!

I’ve been coming to this gym on and off for the past 11 years i was gonna leave a 1 ⭐️ due to it’s always look disgusting especially the men’s bathroom a lot of the workers don’t do anything. All they do is walk around. Yesterday recently, I was there I saw a gentleman cleaning the bathrooms FOR ONCE! Also i saw him walking the gym, i happen to notice when I walked around the gym it looks so much better than it ever has been I had to tell this young man how well of a job he was doing he has a flower on his neck. Dont remember his name very briefly He is a very kind person very well spoken ever since that young man has showed up that gym has been spectacularly clean. That janitor deserves a raise. I hope management knows that that is a true worker. The night crew does not do anything the one lady that works at night is very disrespectful to customers, I don’t understand how she working still there massive improvement by cleanness. 5 ⭐️ now

Apparently it is very difficult for them to refill toilet paper. The cleanliness has gone down hill meanwhile they have one cleaning lady who only focuses on dusting the cardio equipment while you are on it. Fix this place before more people leave. Hopefully Northwell buys them out like the rumors are and this gym closes.
Also the creepy old guy that works there who bathes in cologne and stares at the women while making announcements that they are closing every 5 minutes.

I had such a great experience with Tessa at LA Fitness! From the moment I met her, she was incredibly warm, friendly, and made me feel comfortable right away. She took the time to listen to my goals and gave me an excellent initial workout that was both challenging and encouraging. Her energy and positivity were contagious, and she really made me feel motivated and supported. Tessa also walked me through the personal training program, and thanks to her genuine enthusiasm and knowledge, I felt confident signing up. She's a total gem—highly recommend working with her if you get the chance!

Both the management and the female cleaning staff are terrible. I feel really harassed every time I go into the bathroom. Add to this the fact that the treadmills are always covered in sweat

While I’m not a member here, I did inquire about becoming one, and was welcomed readily and warmly. Jack was terrific: He gave me a tour of the facilities, and was especially hospitable.
As for the gym itself: Formidable. Really, really big, with multiple of every machine you could imagine (about 20 treadmills, for instance — no excuses!), as well as a pool, hot tub, sauna, basketball court, racquetball courts, a cycling room, etc. Locker rooms were plenty spacious, too. Everything was very clean.

I have been working with Ryan for almost a year now, and I couldn’t be more impressed with his expertise and dedication. From day one, Ryan took the time to get to know me and my goals. He created a personalized workout plan for me based on your conversations.
He also offers great advice on strength building and nutrition.
Ryan is great motivation, always keeping the sessions fun and engaging. He is very down to earth and friendly. Our sessions go by super quick and we end up chatting about other topics which I really enjoy.
He truly cares for his clients, and there progress ensuring they reach whatever goals they have set.

It’s been 6 months and I did not think I would last this long working out with my personal trainer, Ryan. He adjusts to my needs, strength, etc thus the reason I have become so motivated to keep going. My contract expired and decided to sign up and even added an extra session per week. I’ve seen changes in me and my energy level has definitely improved. Ryan played a huge part in motivating me to keep going. The carpet ? Really. Every other LA Fitness has cleanable flat flooring. This is why the Smithtown gym is smelling increasingly musty. Also. Don’t plan on working out in the main room after class. The lights annoyingly switch off after 5 minutes. Not the case at any other LA Fitness I’ve been to and I’ve been to dozens.

Since the closure of Centereach location, I have switched to smithtown. I have used it several times in the past and was always happy with the facility. Kubra, (manager) is always on top of everything. She always gets involved with every aspect of the operation as well as listening to the needs of all members.
The locker rooms are always clean and maintained as well all equipped on the floor.
I now found my home and look forward to many great workouts.
