LAB Pilates is a sanctuary for clients seeking pure, classical Pilates with an emphasis on therapeutic and functional fitness. With large windows, golden sunlight reflected on all-natural wood floors, and minimalist decor, clients can exhale when they walk through our doors.
LAB Pilates is a boutique studio that offers private, semi-private, and small group sessions. We have all of the Pilates apparatus manufactured by Gratz. LAB Pilates is in the same suite as a chiropractic office, so our instructors specialize in working with clients with all types of injuries. We work with clients of all ages, body types, and skill levels.

I had the chance to join Summer and Nathali’s classes in New York—4 sessions in just one week—and it was such a pleasant surprise! 🌟 Their attention to precise ligaments and muscle groups is truly impressive. They made sure I was both engaging and relaxing the right muscles, which gave me a much deeper awareness of my body.
Even though I still need more practice and consistency, I feel like I’ve touched on a much more correct methodology and, most importantly, been able to experience that right“feeling”. This was by far the biggest gain and the happiest surprise of my Pilates journey here. Highly recommend!

I had such a wonderful time at LAB with the amazing Summer! I visited the city during vacation and booked a private session. Summer was one of the nicest persons on top of being a professional instructor! I felt very welcomed and the session was calm and intense at the same time.

Working with Natalie has truly been life-changing. When I started Pilates, I had no prior training or fitness background, but her incredible patience, skill, and encouragement made me feel completely supported from day one.
Since working with her, my posture has dramatically improved, which has helped relieve chronic tension in my neck, shoulders, hips, and knees. Developing my core strength has not only enhanced how I move physically—it’s also boosted my confidence and made me feel more grounded in my body and in daily life.
Each session with Natalie is something I genuinely look forward to. Her thoughtful instruction, deep knowledge, and calming presence create such a safe and empowering space to grow. I can’t recommend her enough!

I can't say better things about LAB and Summer, the founder and woman behind it all. I've been going to this studio for four years and it has changed my life. Prior to discovering LAB, I was in out and out countless PT offices with no results and ongoing back pain. Natalie is absolutely amazing. She is incredibly well trained, attentive and knowledgeable about conditions that affect people daily. I started my Pilates journey by taking private lessons at Lab Pilates last summer, and it was magical. I love how the studio is very private, which contrasts with many other busy studios in the city where, as a private client, I feel like I can't focus. The instructors are incredibly willing to work with their clients and are considerate of their injuries (the greenest flag is that my instructor actually started having sessions with me by assessing my body and asking what injuries I had. I had several horrible experiences before when I went into a studio, and the instructor put me straight on the reformer without asking me anything. I am very grateful this is not the case at Lab.) I recently found out I have scoliosis, so I am thinking about returning to Lab once I settle in the city because of their expert knowledge on how to work with spine injury...

I can't recommend LAB Pilates enough! Summer is an absolute gem. With extensive experience in classical Pilates, Summer has the unique ability to tailor her approach to each student's needs. She's a patient and compassionate teacher that can make even the most challenging exercises feel achievable. I recently had the pleasure of attending a private pilates session at LAB Pilates with Summer as my instructor, and it was by far the best pilates experience I've ever had. Having participated in years of both group and private sessions before, I can confidently say that Summer's approach is exceptional. She brings the perfect blend of expertise and ability to connect with her student (me).
Summer has an incredible ability to correct your form without overdoing it, striking the perfect balance that allows you to enjoy the session while still getting the most out of it. She notices subtleties in your posture and body I wasn't even noticing. Her personalized guidance made a significant impact, especially considering my broken back from last August. She expertly navigated me through the exercises without any challenges, which was truly impressive.
The session was a powerful reminder of how much more impactful personalized sessions can be. I left feeling not only physically good but also uplifted and confident. My biggest regret is that I didn't start this sooner. I cannot recommend LAB Pilates and Summer enough. If you're looking for a transformative pilates experience, this is the place to be! I love Lab! I was super nervous to start Pilates. Summer is not only a great and warm person, but a very talented and observant Pilates guru. I am injury prone and Summer did a head to toe assessment, identified areas of weakness and asymmetries. I have recently started doing sessions with Ginny, who is also an amazing observant instructor, and a great person. Every session is tailored to the individual and they play close attention to your body and limits throughout. Lab pilates has changed my life- I feel stronger than ever and no longer have back pain. They recently had a retreat which was an amazing experience; it was essentially a wellness retreat (with amazing healthy food) and a boot camp in one. It was reset I needed- I can’t wait for next year. All around grateful!

Summer Reed and Virginia Tschirhart at Lab Pilates have changed my life! I was suffering from a horrible back injury and they both have slowly worked with me to a point where I am 100% pain free after dealing with debilitating pain for a year. Plus I have scoliosis, so they’ve been able to expertly navigate and attune to my specific needs. I am mind blown by how much I’ve learned from them about the body-mind connection. They are both so positive and encouraging and have made learning a completely new type of exercise fun and motivating. I want to do Pilates forever now thanks to them! I am forever thankful that I finally have solution to years of back pain.

I started working with Summer 8 years ago and have been incredibly pleased with her approach. She is classically trained and has an in depth understanding of anatomy. Summer is very committed to learning about your body and creating sessions that best suit your needs. I have severe scoliosis and she always strives to strengthen and align my back. Whether we are doing mat on zoom, or working in person on the equipment in her studio, I always feel confident that she know how to get the best results. Summer is dedicated to her profession, always has a positive attitude and is a great cheerleader. I feel very lucky to have found her!

If you are looking for the highest quality pilates studio and teacher this is the place. I wanted to rehab my spine from previous injuries and I feel INCREDIBLE after just a few sessions. You can see the passion summer has for pilates and helping her clients and it shows. Her method of stretching and strengthening has made my posture so much better already and I walk out of there feeling rejuvenated. Her one on one sessions are the way to go and I highly recommend them!!!!!

Where do I even begin? Simply put, if you’ve found yourself reading this review and are even CONSIDERING a session with Summer (or even if you’re not for that matter!), stop everything you are doing and book a session with her RIGHT NOW. I’m a 28-year-old male who has suffered from scoliosis and resulting back pain for as long as I can remember. I was pretty much at the point where I’d accepted that is how it was going to be for the rest of my life. After years of my mother insisting on a session with Summer, I finally did in 2020, and it has done nothing short of changing my life. Not only am I no longer in any pain but working with Summer has given me so much awareness regarding my body and various behavioral habits I’ve built up over the years, which have contributed to my back pain without me even knowing it! Summer is a miracle worker, and an awesome human being to boot! As I said above, if you are wondering whether it’s worth booking a session, read no further. I would not recommend taking Pilates at any other studio with any other instructor!
