I absolutely love Lana's gymnastics. My daughter is in the tiny tots program with Ms. Armani and she is thriving. She does wonderful with my daughter, and they have developed a special bond. My daughter, who can be standoff ish with other adults, has done beautifully here. She has learned and mastered many skills, and I can't wait to see how she continues to grow. We are going to be incredibly sad to leave Ms. Armani as my daughter advances to the next age group. However, she has done a beautiful job building a gymnastics foundation with my daughter. My daughter has not only grown with her skills, but she has become more confident and comfortable in expressing herself. I am forever going to be grateful for the memories and experiences Ms. Armani has given my daughter and me. I am so excited to see my daughter continue to grow and make more memories at Lana's. Everyone that I've had interactions with at Lana's truly loves kids and doing what they do. The ladies in the office are also wonderful. They keep the place running and are ALWAYS there to help you with whatever you need. I live all the way in Howard Beach and I will continue to come here because this is a quality studio, and I want the best for my daughter.

"I don't usually leave reviews, but I really wanted to share my experience at this place. The incredibly kind staff, Sharon and Ericka, will greet you and make you feel so welcome. The coach pays great attention to detail while training the kids, and you can watch the entire class from the waiting room without disturbing the session. We really love this place, and I am also very satisfied with the service here."

Persons at the front desk are very diligent and kind. I like the way they are always willing to help parents. Also, I like to be able to speak in Spanish, a plus definitely.
Teachers are serious and firm with kids and I like that approach. Attending a gymnastic class is not necessarily the same thing that going to a park and have fun. It means discipline and determination. Kids often returns what they receive, so if they see a serious instructor, you can reasonably expect the same from the kid. It takes a bit of time for some of them to process a firm command from a professor, but this is how of it works and I am totally fine with it.
Keep the great job up!

My 4-year-old daughter participated in the summer session and is now enrolled in the fall semester, and we couldn’t be happier with our experience! Initially, she was hesitant about starting gymnastics, but she quickly grew to love it thanks to the amazing coaches. The staff is well-trained, knowledgeable, and patient.
One situation that stood out was when my daughter had a substitute coach. She typically struggles with change, but the team was so reassuring and comforting that she adjusted quickly and ended up enjoying the class just as much.
The front desk staff, particularly Erika and Sharon, deserve special recognition. They are always patient, helpful, and incredibly knowledgeable. Whether it’s answering questions or assisting over the phone, they go above and beyond to make the experience seamless.
The prices are reasonable, and the quality of instruction and customer service is outstanding. We’re looking forward to enrolling again for the spring session. Highly recommend this program!

Our experience at Lana’s Gymnastics Club has been exceptional. From the very beginning, the attention has been outstanding. I want to highlight the staff member who assisted us during the enrollment process—not only were they incredibly kind, but they also had the ability to communicate in Spanish, which made choosing the right schedule much easier. The classes have been amazing as well. My 6-year-old daughter is very motivated and truly enjoys them. Her coach is patient and knows how to guide her properly through the exercises, which has made her feel happy and confident. I would definitely recommend this place to other families.

My daughter attended Lana’s for a year and a half. At first it was fun, but as she improved she became bored. They moved her into intermediate classes but they were no different from the beginner classes. In addition we found the atmosphere unfriendly. It wasn’t the right studio for her. She’s since moved to a much friendlier studio where she’s learning a lot more and is happy and challenged.

My daughter loves gymnastics at this facility. My only issue is that my daughter's classes have gotten easy for her and I have to advocate for her to advance to the next level. This has happen on two different occasions. When she did advance to next class (advanced) she still seemed unchallenged. I want the instructors to pay closer attention to the better students in any class and place them accordingly.

I can say nothing but wonderful things about Lana's Gymnastics. My daughter has been in the club since 4 years old. She is 7 now and is part of the team. All of her coaches have been amazing and extremely professional. Starting with her first coach. I am surprised to see the bad reviews about her, she is definitely not the bubbly type but she knows what she is doing and is very professional. My daughter loved classes with her and it was a wonderful change from other classes she previously took where it was all games and smiles without substance. Because of Lana's, my daughter has been living for gymnastics and I have never seen her as happy as she is when taking classes. The environment is strict as gymnastics is a serious sport where without proper discipline traumas can happen. Lana's has truly inspired my daughter and I could not be happier about the training she is getting especially her coach Diana who has been absolutely amazing. Would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants their kids to excel in gymnastics and learn all the proper techniques.

I brought my 2 year old and 3 year old in for a trial lesson. The online sign up is VERY deceiving in price. I received an email that stated another price and then when I got to the facility, it was a different price. For $34/per 45 min. Session your child will play with poly spots and parachutes just like they do in their free DOE physical education class and they can also organize balls by color. This might be worth it for your teenager to learn gymnastics, but tiny tots classes do not appear to consist of anything gymnastics based that your child isn't already getting in daycare or school.

Lana's is a disgrace. If there were other options in the area, nobody would choose to be here. The policy here is "the customer is never right." The facility is neglected, the owner is rude, there is zero transparency with parents and overall, it's just a terrible experience.
Parents - don't expect to ever meet your child's teacher or get any updates as to how your child is doing in the program. Want to watch your child in the gym? Good luck, there's only one small window for viewing and only a fraction of the gym is visible. When they finally do let you into the gym for their year-end "performance" they charge you $10 a seat. Be prepared for it to be more of a sales pitch than a showcase of what your child learned. Most of that show is their gymnastics squad, not even your own child.
If you scroll down you'll see another recent Google review stating that the year-end show was a fire hazard. I was there and It absolutely was. So much in fact that I actually came home and made a 311 complaint. Yet another example of how poorly the place is run and how little they actually care about the student and customer experience.
They won't be getting another dollar of my money and I encourage you to take your business elsewhere.

The class was fine (only fine), but the end of semester recital was terribly run and borderline unsafe. The guy who runs the show is an angry, rude man. They let the kids out at the end of the show with no supervision or planning. Six year olds were roaming the halls sobbing and looking for their parents. It was shockingly sad and disorganized. It was as if they got their money and the kids were now unneeded cattle. They oversold the tickets and set the seating so half had to stand and most couldn’t see. Disgusting.

All classes, the teachers and their staff are excellent, But at the time of the demonstration it's a disorganization. The parents can't see the presentations because we're all at the same level and obviously the parents don't care if the others see us or us because the demonstrations are all at the same time. They should take a glove that the initial level is also important

Well run ship! They're efficient and professional. Amurita in particular has been helpful to us and understanding when we make schedule mistakes as newbies. Most importantly, my daughter looks forward to going to class and she's happy when she leaves...loving the activity and the energy.
We're back after some time off. Still a well run ship. My daughter will be 7 in April, we're using Gymnastics to give her a well rounded athletic experience and skills to complement her tennis. She loves Ginger as an instructor. Ginger is patient and calm when correcting the students and the kids are having fun.
Wish the viewing area was a little bigger as parents are leaning over one another to get a glimpse, but still a great place

Appearance:
Old building, equipment looks older
Coaches:
It depends whether your child is enrolled with one that is dedicated. There are 2 older experienced coaches, all others are young female - possibility former students. Classes are focused more on stretching and achieving a physical workout. The students do not improve their abilities unless they enroll in more classes weekly classes.
Cleanliness:
The locker rooms are disgusting, some lockers are filled with lost and found items. The floors are dirty and stained. The bathrooms are worst, and they expect kids to be walking around barefoot.
The staff:
Not the most communicative, no answer, no call backs. And if you missed a class the administrative office will question you whether you made any attempts to contact the office beforehand.

I had three of my kids here, all 3 different levels which they did give me a discount. They do allow you to make up up to 2 classes. They are not so friendly or communicative at all. Some coaches don’t even greet you-I thought we were adults-I guess not and they are all of different ages so no excuse. There is a manager that is rude and has been told off by some parents myself included. To be honest with this manager I felt he was a bit racist as he seemed to be nicer to other parents than myself, but things did change for a bit when I talked to him ( I’m guessing he thought I didn’t speak English) Not a comfortable feeling for a place your kids are going to. He seems too strict for a place with kids- no running, no taking too loud- these are kids. The receptionists were the best out of all of them. They have a waiting room where you can wait and see your kids through a window, but if the seats are full you have to wait in the hallway where you can’t see your kids at all. I also read about an older female coach being too aggressive with the kids so I made sure I was always present. That didn’t help as when I asked my daughter how is she with her she told me she was mean and told me she was gripping her tight by the arm when she made a mistake. I lost it! These are kids, my daughter is 4 years old, she’s here to learn and enjoy gymnastics not train for the Olympics. That coach was lucky it was our last two sessions and we were home by then. I called immediately and asked to speak to her and they said she couldn’t come to the phone. I informed the front desk and called the following day-and again she wasn’t available. I never got a call back from her or the place with an explanation. My daughter did not want to go again and I understood the reason. So I would not recommend this place-please read the reviews and ask your children at all times.

I would not recommend this location for young children. Parents cannot stay inside the gym as kids practice ,but I am so thankful I was able to stay in the gym because we were doing a free trial. The teacher who was with young children has no patience, she criticized the kids, yelling at a little one in diapers about how she was doing a forward roll and her legs not being together. She yelled at multiple children throughtout the class, my daughter was crying by mid class. These are 3 and 4 year olds, they are not going to go to the Olympics in one day. I expected the class to be among many things welcoming and fun. It was a disgrace , I don't even thinks some of the parents realize how their children are being spoken to. I would not recommend to anyone. My daughter tends to be on the cautious side of children and was so excited and spoke about this class for days, I was so shocked to see how terrible this class was. Also did not match the vibe that you see on their instagram.Teachers who are in charge of kids need patience amd to be kind. this was a horrible experience.

Thanks to Lana's gymnastics we found a much better place, where coaches speak friendly (!!!) to kids, teach them and don't call names.
I don't understand why you guys still have Tanya in your team. She is unprofessional, she seems to have problems working with the kids, she is always with the attitude.
Is it better to keep that coach and lose clients? Because there are more kids beside us, that also left because of her behavior.
Well, anyway. Not going back.

I've paid for 3 classes and dont think I will send my girls after that. The place is nice, they have many classes and seem to teach good techniques. The reason I gave such a low score is because I've seen multiple teachers yell at the kids when they don't get the move right. There is a better way to teach kids than the constant yelling and negative attitude. I want my girls to love the activity, not feel like they are training for the Olympics.
Update: I've signed up for 6 months of classes for my 2 girls because the supervisor was able to work with me to change to Jasmine who seems nice. Lets see if my rating will change after they finish this season.
Update. Jasmine has been very good and this is the 2nd season my girls have been doing classes. I've seen less yelling from the other teachers as well and will continue to send my girls here. I've hence changed my previous 2 rating to a 4.

My daughter has been taking classes here on and off (due to my work schedule) for over 5 years. She also attended summer camp for 3 years. The staff is usually busy but will make time for you. After not attending for 6 months, I can call them and mention my daughter and they remember who she is. They are strict but that is what helps kids stay safe and succeed. I have heard people complain about the strict manner of the instructors then wonder why their children are not great at gymnastics. Any sport or physical activity requires determination, alertness, hard work and discipline. This is what they teach the kids. How to succeed in life. How to pay attention and follow direction. If you want your child to learn gymnastics, have great technique and build their body strength then I highly recommend Lana's Gymnastics. My daughter has learned so much and is now learning to apply those skills to everything she does including dance at Jorday Rivera's Dance Studio where, thanks to Lana's Gymnastics, she has wow'ed everyone with her flexibility and grace. Everyone here is wonderful. Best of all, there is a lot of diversity and the staff welcome you regardless of your nationality. They are welcoming and encourage all of the children to learn about each other's cultures and languages. My daughter learned phrases in three different languages during her first year of summer camp. She also learned a few songs in Russian. She was very happy and very comfortable with herself and others. I highly recommend Lana's to anyone and everyone interested in gymnastics.

Ok for this parents o spoke bad about the way the kids were treated...I did gymnastics for 18 years, and my parents had the same reaction when they saw my coach screaming, yelling at me and they made me sit down on the corner of the gym facing the wall many times because I didn't listen or because I didn't follow directions. Gymnastic is a very, very strict sport because if you don't listen or don't follow directions you will get hurt! And that happen to me many many times.
So...don't think they don't like your kid, they just making sure that your kid learn the basic rules before the fun.
I never went to this gym but I know how things work inside the gymnastics world.

Wish that I could rate this institution less. Very harsh demeanor towards children. Caught them physically reprimanding my kids on a few occasions (grabbing them by armpit and pulling them to corner to sit on the side, just because my daughter was spaced out, pinching cheeks not in the loving way...) . I do not like how they treat the children and I do not recommend. Note; even other parents called me to tell me this happened to my kids!

Lana's Gymnastics is very professional and GREAT at what they do! The coaches are really the best and so is the owner. I wouldn't want to send my children anywhere else due to their experience, high recommnendations, and great staff. The negative reviews make no sense especially about the sneakers. If you know the business, they are supposed to wear these special shoes! The children are always so happy and that's my number one priority.

i dont like lanas gymnastics my daughter was a student at lanas gymnastics club but the teachers are horrible at teaching..they dont teach the way it suppose to be and they teach with sneakers on the mat thats germs on the mat where kids put their face and hands on the mat...they do more talking than teaching ...I dont recomend this gymnastics to anyone with a child who really wants to be a good gymnast..they like more the money then the students....

We have been coming to Lana's camp for so many years now.. the youngest child in our family started his third year here, and even at 8 years old, he still loves being in camp. We love that its a family run business, with people who truly care about our children and go out of their way to create fun ways for the children to spend their days. They swim at a huge pool, they get fresh hot lunch every day, and have biweekly trips, as well as weekly events. He comes home every day with enthusiastic stories, and wakes up every morning ready to go to camp. We are so happy with the service and recommend it to all our friends and family. Thank you, Lana's camp!!

Highly recommended. I signed my children up for the summer session and they both loved it! Spacious facility, great coaches, and very friendly/accommodating staff. I look forward to registering my children for the Fall; I just wish Lana's was open Fridays & Saturdays.

Very unprofessional. All they want is your money but they treat your children horribly. Please please go elsewhere
