Literally checked my emails and the same issues I’ve talked about since march hasn’t even been fixed! If you want an overpriced gym with extremely unsanitary amenities & unresponsive management this is your place… only thing that’s good here is the equipment. They don’t even clean their saunas at night time… the same sweat marks have been there for weeks. The fact that Emiliano still has a job is crazy, emailed 10x without any acknowledgement. Incompetent management at its finest

I love this place. Clean. Friendly staff. So many amenities and great equipment but the layout is also smart. Too many gyms are laid out in ways that make it really inconvenient and annoying to workout there. This is not one of those. Love the co-working area. The massage and cryo beds. Highly recommend. Also worth noting, i do not go during peak hours and I'm sure that impacts my experience.

If I could give zero stars I would. We were charged WITHOUT notice $40 each time we couldn’t make a CTR class. Not once were we notified of the charge and we only found out when our credit card flagged it as fraud.
While I take credit for not showing up, NO WHERE on the booking site does it say there’s a $40 no show fee.
We called and they told us to reach out to management. Guess what? No response, nothing.
Save your money and go to Chelsea piers. We thought switching to lifetime was a good choice, but now we fully regret it.

Darell very rude to staffers as well as members, very unprofessional! He does not know how to talk to people. I had friends who came in and try to join, and he treated them very poorly. As a Concierge, he must be friendly to current members as well as future potential members. He is a very conniving person, often changes his tone when other leaders are around. Get off the computer and greet people with respect when they come in and respect the staffers who are constantly working hard to keep the facility clean. Just because you dress like a leader doesn’t mean you are one— get over yourself. We pay too much to be treated as if we’re not welcome.

The gym has gotten worse over the months. Sauna doesn’t work until after 7am(club opens at 5). Been complaining about the same thing since march and nothing gets solved. Terrible management at its finest!! PS the dumbo location is great and management is way more competent!

Buyer Beware: Lifetime Gym Fails on Cleanliness, Management, and Value
This is, without exaggeration, one of the worst gym experiences I have had in my lifetime—a pun not lost on the name “Lifetime.” The club positions itself as a premium experience, but it is anything but. Buyer beware.
As someone who has been a member at Equinox (for over a decade), and now Lifetime, I have never encountered such a shocking lack of hygiene and such neglectful, rude upper management. I’ve been a member at this location for over a year, joining shortly after it opened, and the situation has only deteriorated.
Here are just a few of my experiences:
Rate hikes: Lifetime does not lock in your rate. Expect random emails increasing your monthly fee with little warning or justification.
Disgusting locker rooms: Basic cleanliness is not maintained.
Dusty and dirty studios: Spaces like the GTX and Barre studios are consistently neglected.
Supply issues: Essentials like paper towels and soap refills are frequently missing.
Filthy showers: Used razors and wads of hair are common sights.
Deteriorating Equipment: Mats are no longer sticky- and likely because for over $330/ month members are asked to wipe down their own equipment after classes. No one does. And without proper care the cracks are starting to show- quite literally.
Power outages: Locker room hairdryers are out of service nearly every week, sometimes all at once. Water is disrupted frequently.
Extremely rude operations management: Any concerns are met with deflection—everything is blamed on “building issues,” regardless of the actual problem.
Lifetime charges an exorbitant premium for an experience that is, frankly, subpar in every way that matters. Prospective members should consider themselves warned—there is nothing premium about what you’ll find here.

My fiancé and I bought $100 dollar day passes to Lifetime Atlantic. The mens sauna was not working so we asked the front desk if we could go to another location and they suggested the Dumbo location. When we got to the other location we were turned away. Emiliano from Atlantic offered us both week passes as compensation and has since refused to answer any calls or emails. A front desk employee told me to email Darnell the membership concierge and he also did not respond after an initial email. At this price point I would expect better communication.

I've been doing personal training with Caleb for the past year and he is an incredible trainer! When I started, I figured I would do a few sessions to learn about weightlifting and form, but Caleb was so great I've continued since with 2x a week... it's truly been life changing.
Caleb is an phenomenal trainer. He tailors my workouts to my goals and a pre-existing injury I had, he challenges and pushes me while keeping it fun, gives me precise feedback on my form, and answers my zillion questions with so much expertise.
I've always workout out regularly and been in decent shape, but it wasn't until doing conditioning and weight training with Caleb that my fitness level really transformed. I've never been so strong and toned and it feels amazing. It's definitely a splurge, but I can't think of anything else more worthwhile.
This Life Time overall is great too-- beautiful facilities, great classes, and all of the staff are so nice.

I’ve been going here for months, and honestly, I’ve had enough.
While the gym itself has good equipment and decent space, the way it’s run is frustrating. Showers are constantly wet and messy, towels are often unavailable, and cleanliness is clearly not a priority. People — including staff — walk around in dirty outdoor shoes, leaving marks everywhere. Dust is building up on windowsills like no one cares.
Basic equipment like dip belts is always missing. And the excuses are always the same: “It got stolen,” “We ordered it.” Weeks go by — still nothing. For $300 a month, that’s just lazy and unacceptable.
I’ve been to other Life Time locations — they’re way more professional. This one seriously needs better management. Until then, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Life Time Fitness – Atlantic Ave!
I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Life Time Fitness – Atlantic Ave today! From the moment I arrived, everything was top-notch.
Shoutout to Thomas from membership, who helped me get started with my guest visit pass. He was professional, knowledgeable, and made the process seamless. My friend, who loves this gym, was excited to show me around, and as we toured, I had the pleasure of meeting Emiliano, the General Manager. We had an awesome conversation about the facility, and it’s clear he truly cares about the member experience.
I also met Jesse, the PT Manager, who brought great energy and passion for fitness. As I worked out, I couldn’t help but notice the high-level personal training happening around me. Omar and Abigail delivered some of the best training sessions I’ve ever seen—engaging, professional, and results-driven.
The gym itself is immaculate, with a welcoming atmosphere where everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there. The amenities are amazing, and time just flew by—I spent four hours there without even realizing it!
If you’re looking for a gym with top-tier staff, an incredible vibe, and an all-around excellent fitness environment, Life Time Fitness – Atlantic Ave is the place to be. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

This is a smaller Life Time location, but the staff is friendly and it's a gym you'll love coming to every day.
Machines are great - they're new, very clean, and isolate muscle groups well. The classes are an incredible perk (esp. hot yoga with Jake!). The sauna is fairly spacious and has been a good way to wind down a work out and start recovery.

Great gym! So many different weight machines so that if one doesn't work for your body type (or someone is using one) there are 3 more variations that you can choose from. I've never been so excited and structured at a gym before because of that. It's also very spacious, so I never feel cramped up. And unlike other gyms I've been to, I don't feel uncomfortable and everyone is respectful. On top of that, they have massage machines, work spaces, classes, and a smoothie bar/cafe. It's not cheap, but it's worth the investment to finally have a great gym in Brooklyn!

Great club, very modern and clean, team are always friendly.
I’ve been coming to the Atlantic Crossing Life Time for a few months now having moved to the area. This is one of the newest Life Times, having opened in mid-2024. It’s a little smaller than your usual LT (though it’s a ‘big’ gym by any definition), and the quality of the facilities are top notch.
They’re expanding the space for lifting and PT into a new downstairs area that a team member said is ‘opening soon’, so that will be great! Lockers and gym floor are always clean, even in peak hours it’s not too hectic, and I really enjoy the instructors and mix of classes offered. Thank you!

Been coming here a couple months now and enjoying it a lot. Nice staff, clean facilities that are usually not too busy, good variety of classes with nice instructors. Shout out to Ebonny in particular, her barre fusion class always kicks my butt (in a good way).
Only gripes are very minor - 1) cafe could be better staffed, there’s often no one at the counter despite being during their open hours and 2) locker room needs more paper towel dispensers by the sinks. People are often doing hair / makeup wherever at the end sinks where the dispensers are, and then it is awkward to ask them to move to get paper towels. 3) I wish some of the classes were offered more frequently, e.g. warrior sculpt, maxout core, boxing.

Started coming here because of their abundance of equipment (12 Power Racks) however after joining, I realized that there are only 2 squat racks are open to members during peak hours. M-Th there are only 2 squat racks available from 5:30-8pm due to being used for classes. The alpha classes are scheduled back to back.
Saw another review who also complained and I just need LifeTime to know.. yes it may be a great class but people have their own workouts they would like to stay on schedule with. It sucks because the gym is good. But the power rack situation is really bad.
Now we have to wait until Jan for the problem to be fixed. I think this is bad scheduling and they should consider either moving one of those classes to another time, maybe making alpha only on certain days, or even widening the window between those 2 back to back alpha classes. I get it, they may be great but the timing is terrible for peak hours.

During our initial tour, an employee explicitly informed us that we could register as a household of three—a claim that is well-documented via email and consistent with the options presented on the Lifetime website and app when signing up, which allows for up to four members per household. Why would the website/employee allow for this if it is against policy?
After having already signed up, Darrell, the concierge lead, approached one of our household members as she was entering the gym in a manner that was both demeaning and belittling. He informed her that she could not be part of our household and proceeded to remove her from the membership without any prior warning. This encounter not only undermined the initial assurances we received but also left her feeling unjustly blamed for acting in accordance with the guidance provided by his staff.
Despite our requests for clarification and a fair resolution, the only alternative offered was for her to obtain an individual membership at a higher cost—an option that is financially unfeasible for us. Throughout this process, we received no acknowledgment of the frustration caused or any form of apology. The only ‘assurance’ given to us by Darrell was that he would “deal with whichever human told us that”. So weird.
As a result, we find ourselves in a precarious situation. We made the decision to cancel our previous gym membership based on the understanding that we could enroll as a household of three with Lifetime Fitness. Now, we are left feeling defeated and uncertain about our next steps, having lost out on time, money, and energy.
I also scheduled a personal training assessment with Naeem. From the start, Naeem appeared more interested in promoting his services than understanding my specific goals. After I communicated my hesitation to commit to a $1,400 minimum monthly training package, he responded with a dismissive text that felt more like an attempt to guilt me into spending than a genuine concern for my fitness journey. He said the following verbatim, ‘So basically you’re saying… You want to continue to have knee pain, miss out on playing soccer at a high level, & forget about adding 10-15 pounds of muscle mass, correct?’, followed by a sarcastic emoji.
During our session, the ‘physical assessments’ he had me perform felt designed to highlight my limitations rather than motivate me. His comments during the sessions suggested that merely attending Lifetime’s signature classes and showing up to the gym on my own would not be sufficient for reaching my goals, which was both discouraging and unconstructive.
Additionally, it was disheartening to observe that Naeem did not provide his full attention to clients during their sessions. He double books his personal training assessments with his actual clients so that he can recruit more clients. This gave me the impression that his primary focus was on recruiting more clients rather than investing in the success of those he already had.
Overall, the gym has potential, but I think there needs to be a change in culture, management, and increased transparency and accountability. My household members and I are left feeling confused, guilt-tripped, and defeated. I respectfully urge management to address our concerns, not only to rectify our situation but also to ensure that future members are treated with respect and clarity. Thank you.

Glad I’m not alone in this squat rack situation. Switched to this gym to use one of their 12 squat racks, ended up having to compete for the only 2 open racks, hunger game style. 10 out of 12 racks are constantly occupied by quasi-CrossFit classes during the time most people go lift - before and after work.

I signed up for this gym because there are 10+ squat racks. Finally, I had found a gym where even during peak hours, there were enough racks that I could workout without having to wait an hour, but wait, surprise! There's always classes going on in the middle of the open gym space. It's insane. It makes it harder to go through the gym cause of how much space they take, there's no racks left, and I'm left watching a physical therapist/chiropractor's/orthopedic surgeon's wet dream considering how badly the instruction is for most of the exercises they're doing.
As if to purposely add insult to injury, my partner and I were told to vacate a rack due to a class that wasn't even on the schedule, and we were approached by a member of corporate who happened to be there. He claimed to be sorry and understand our frustration only to inform us that there was a solution coming but not until the end of December. So now we're stuck paying an exorbitant membership fee to not be able to do the one thing that we come here for for at least the next 3 months assuming they even finish on schedule.
The worst part is many of my friends followed for similar reasons as I did, so now I'm the reason that they're paying seriously high membership fees to go to a gym where they can't even do what they came for.
I would absolutely rate this 0 stars if I could. All serious lifters be warned, this gym is not for you.
Edit: Shoutout to the personal trainer/class instructor Hellena. She is a very fine instructor and has always worked to accommodate everyone's needs independent of what they are trying to accomplish whether they're in her class or not.

I went to the cafe here and ordered two acai bowls. They charged me for the bowls. After waiting five minutes, the guy running the cafe told me that he couldn't find any bowls so he couldn't serve me. I immediately asked for a refund. He couldn't run refunds on the cash register, the gym didn't know how to give me a refund, and I gave up the other 20 minutes of my lunch break waiting for them to call the manager and decide they couldn't refund me until the end of the day. I told them either give me the food I ordered or my money back and they said they couldn't do either. Straight up stole from me.
UPDATE: Inaccuracies in response:
- I did not order online. I walked into the store, ordered to the persons face, and then waited for five mintues before the same person said they didn't have plastic bowls. Because I did not order online, an "online ordering system" was not the cuase.
- I was never asked for my contact information in any point of this experience.
- I left angrily but was quiet, calm, and patient with the staff for the whole 25 minutes (waiting for bowl AND waiting for refund) until they said they couldn't process my refund.
Worse that thieves are liars.

I’ve come here twice. The first time I had to wait 20 minutes for the credit card machine to work. It was a Saturday so I was patient, and they promised me a pass for a free shake next time I came in. Later when I tried to use that pass it wasn’t respected.
Then the next time I came, I ordered two açaí bowls and five minutes after I had already been charged, the guy working at the cafe said he couldn’t give me the açaí because *he didn’t know where the bowls were at*. I asked for a refund and he couldn’t process it and tried to call his manager. He then directed me to the gym front desk who said they had trouble refunding me because I’m not a member of the gym. They made me wait another 10 minutes to explain that they can’t work the cash refund without a manger swipe card and that the soonest they could do that is at the end of the day. So I got no food AND couldn’t get my money back. Thieves.

UPDATE: DO NOT get fooled into thinking this gym actually has 15 squat racks for you to use. On any given night during typical post-work workout hours you should expect to find a line for only two squat racks reserved for people who need one, while the rest are occupied by folks in an AMP class or whatever doing sit ups on the mat while music blares throughout the floor. It’s absurd.
It’s okay.
I made the switch from Chelsea Piers Brooklyn for two reasons mainly - (1) LT is closer to transit and my home, and (2) it’s an above-ground gym.
For $300, I expected the facilities/amenities to be as nice or nicer, but it kind of just feels like working out in a dull law office. Maybe that’s the goal?
Unflattering fluorescent lighting, drop ceiling in the bathroom, and a lot of beige and grey wood everywhere else. There is something like 1,500 sq ft. dedicated to sitting rooms, but somehow no Steam Room.
A plus is that there is a lot of mostly top notch cardio equipment and squat racks. A tbd is classes and programming.
It’s okay.

Was welcomed into the around 40,000 square ft. facilities last weekend as a guest for their first friday event, got to take a class and tour the weight room.
The class I took with Miranda was challenging and fun to me as a prior college athlete. the weight room has more than enough racks which is refreshing as someone who has been to most gyms in the city that only have 2-4 racks.
To add in the live music and mixer, a great gym experience through and through and somewhere i would recommend to anyone looking for a gym and community

My favorite Life Time location in the city! The staff is the friendliest, the locker room is impeccable (I prefer showering here over my own home), and it’s never competitive to get the equipment you need. If you don’t need a pool, steam room, or basketball court, I recommend this location over the others. The only problem is that I can’t seem to come here without spending 3 hours on my workout + all the amenities.

UPDATE: Management reached out very quickly and assured they would look into the situation while offering comped drinks.

I love this lifetime location. The weight room has everything you need and the sauna is great. They always have an open squat rack (which doubles as a deadlift platform) because there are just so many of them, and they have all the dumbbells you could ever need.
I highly recommend lifetime, as all of their staff have been friendly and very approachable since I joined. I had a dynamic personal training session with Naeem in which he shared a bunch of very insightful information which I now use to enhance all of my workouts, as well as my recovery outside of the gym.
I really look forward to continuing to work towards my goals with this community. Working out here is a pleasure.

I had a personal training session with Naeem and he was very knowledgeable for strength training. He showed me certain machines and gave me tips on how I can improve my fitness goals.
As for the gym, it has a beautiful corporate style feel to it. If you're into strength training it has tons of squat racks, loads of machines, and huge section of free weights (no waiting). Only thing I wish they included was a turf for Hiit workouts or a pool or some highlighted recreational activity.
I enjoy the variety of yoga classes and the recovery area is a nice touch.

Asking for 300+ without a pool/courts etc is insane. Chelsea fitness pier has everything and it's worth the price. Honestly I'm upset they didn't add more amenities. That price just doesn't work.

The Life Time Atlantic opened on Friday, 4/19, and the gym is gorgeous! I had an introductory personal training session today with Naeem, and he was excellent. He is very knowledgeable, and it was a pleasure to work with him to identify my health and exercise goals. I'm going to enjoy my membership at this gym.

So far, great gym. Over 8 power racks, 4 flat benches, 2 incline benches. Bumper plates for Olympic lifts. Dumbbells go up to 100+. Oddly the dumbbells go up by 2.5 pound increments. I would say the weight section is a little more cramped than it should be, given the overall square footage dedicated for lounge space and cardio. But certainly meets the needs for a real weight training. The price point is steep, but hours are very generous, opening at 5 AM in weekdays and 7 AM on weekends

This is arguably one of the best gyms in Brooklyn. Recently opened, it has 11 squat racks, each doubling as a deadlift platform, which is the primary reason I love this gym.
The gym is clean and spacious, members of staff are nice & friendly, it’s a great place to work out. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-notch gym.
Another advantage of the squats racks is you won’t really have to wait for people.
Highly recommend this place.

Did a goal setting session with Naeem on my visit. It went great! He really knew a lot and helped with Dynamic Personal Training, gave me a plan, and helped me with a plan to move forward with for everyday use.

This location just opened yesterday. It's around the corner from the Barclay's Center. The layout of this location is different from the DUMBO location. It's a multi-level layout. The locker rooms are on the 2nd floor. Cardio and weights are on the 3rd floor. It is really easy to navigate this gym though. I think it's a little more compact than DUMBO too. No basketball court here. I think this location has more squat racks than DUMBO has though. Also, I only noticed a sauna in the women's locker room. DUMBO has a sauna and steam room. Overall, it's the typical Lifetime gym, you find many of the same equipment in this gym that you would find in the other Lifetime locations. Great views overlooking the street as well.
