I’ve been coming to Lifetime Fitness for 8 years. Started as solo and then got my family enrolled throughout the years. I’ve never experienced anything like what happened recently. We pay nearly $900 a month for our memberships and our three kids’ swim classes, so we’ve always expected — and usually received — respectful treatment.
This past Sunday, my kids were running late for their swim class. When they arrived, my wife rushed them inside so they wouldn’t miss more time, planning to return immediately to the front desk to scan in. We were even planning on enrolling our youngest daughter to swim class that day as well.
My wife also had our Nanny with us as helper who was also considering enrolling her own daughter in the gym and its programs, so she joined us to see how everything worked. Unfortunately, what she witnessed ended up convincing her not to sign up at all.
At the front desk, the receptionist, Sharon, stopped my wife very abruptly and insisted she scan in first — despite her clearly explaining that the kids were late and she would come right back. She said “I don’t care” and even made her pull all kids out of their class and bring them back to the front desk just to scan in. When she explained that our family has been a member for 8 years and fully intended to follow the process, she responded with, “If you’ve been coming here this long, you should know how to follow the rules,” followed by, “Maybe you should arrive on time next time.”
Our Nanny was shocked and even asked us why we pay so much here just to be treated this way.
My wife asked to speak with a manager — something we’ve never done anywhere — and Cheryl, the manager, came out. Unfortunately, she immediately sided with Sharon and made them feel unwelcome rather than heard. The entire interaction left them feeling disrespected and uncomfortable, and it genuinely made my wife question whether they were being treated differently for racially motivated reasons that should never play a role in customer service.
In eight years, we have never had an issue with anyone at this club, but this was our first time interacting with these two staff members, and the experience was deeply disappointing for both me and my family.
Sadly, Lifetime has lost a long-term customer — and a potential new one.

Happy to be back at Lifetime as a member, and grateful for Kenny for being a true stand-up guy. I’ll admit that some of my past frustrations were misdirected toward management, and I really appreciate that we were able to sit down, talk it through, and get back on the same page. Grateful for the professionalism and the way everything was handled.

Truly is not the great athletic country club as it used to be. Used to love going to this location. Within the last year, lifetime garden city has been over crowded, dirty, and lawless. There is no rule enforcement. During peak hours it is impossible to ever get the machine you need. The one good thing about this location is the classes and instructors. Several people I know have had items stolen from their car and even a smash and grab. Lifetime takes no responsibility. I rather take the extra drive to Lifetime Syosset where it actually feels like a luxury gym.

Super overcrowded. People have minimal self-awareness so any workout can be interrupted by someone merely staying inappropriately too close. No parking. Only thing that’s decent are the fitness instructors but all of he good classes it’s impossible to sign up. No policy on people taking videos so everyone is filming themselves whether it’s yoga or cycling🤨😒

THE DAYCARE IS NOT SAFE . My child under one was abused at the daycare unprofessional daycare , when you sign up the facility looks nice and almost worth the money , the staff unprofessional, they do not have your kids safety as there first priority, do not trust these people with your kids as my baby under 1 was abused at there daycare , you are paying premium prices for a daycare you can not trust , it looks nice but do not trust these staff members with your child , especially Donna who was suppose to be watching my infant under one and let my baby get abused by somebody else there , and the daycare manager ms Jackson who did nothing about it just tried to dismiss me was completely rude and unprofessional they have a lot of upgrading to do as far as staff members when I am paying premium prices I expect a premium service not a planet fitness service , dirty , unprofessional, not safe for your children , save your money and go to equinox or a different gym this is not premium, towels are always dirty , staff members are rude and unprofessional and most importantly they do not care about your safety especially the children

Absolutely the worst gym experience. The front desk is unprofessional, rude, and even threatened to kick me out after two years as a loyal member. Policies are applied inconsistently. When I asked for a manager, I was lied to.
No respect!
No transparency!
No accountability!
Save yourself the stress—this place only cares about replacing members, not serving them.

I can’t believe this gym is called lifetime this location is absolutely disgraceful. This place is dirtier than planet fitness you come here for a workout and you feel absolutely disgusting. It is so dirty here I told them countless times if they need somebody who can actually clean I will clean for the membership. scuff marks all over the floor squat racks look like they haven’t been cleaned in one year and on top of that I found a piece of gum in the sauna for $290 a month. This is absolute crime. Whoever pays $290 a month for this is getting taken advantage of. The only location that is worth this amount is Syosset the cleanliness of Syosset dominates the cleanliness of Garden City. The most I will give this location is two stars it’s absolutely dirty and needs a deep cleaning. Hot tub is also broken and making weird noises. They need to drain the whole hot tub and scrub the walls of the hot tub. I have attached a photo of the conditions of the hot tub. I’ve been to almost every single lifetime, including the ones in the city, and none of them are as dirty as this place this is looking like a LA fitness. The cost of the membership for the quality of this gym is insane and makes absolutely no sense. This dirty filthy gym makes me wanna quit and go back to push fitness new Hyde Park. That’s only $50 a month and is much cleaner. Thank God For Syosset, location or else I would have quit a long time ago. Very sad because this location is so convenient and has so much potential, but they do not know how to maintain this facility. The GM is not doing anything seems like he has no interest in maintaining this facility. Please communicate with Syosset and have their cleaning peoples come here because the people cleaning here are not doing anything and it’s ruining the lifetime image.

I like coming here but the amount of inconsideration from others and lack of enforcement of rules by staff is a real turn off, people having full volume conversations in a packed sauna, people not returning their weights and leaving towles and garbage everywhere, just the other day a sick person was in the steam room coughing and sneezing so loudly using it as relief from the flu or something very disgusting behavior.

Happy to be a member, really nice space and staff.. a few improvements I would like to suggest: 1. The new workspace in the lobby is fine, but I think they should add back in the TV's in the lobby for sports games, etc. The TV's on the 2nd floor are not programmed well or at all for big sports games. There should be a gathering area with a coach and a screen playing a knicks playoffs game or Jets game, etc. You also should add the day of the weeks to your activity fliers... for example, Fri, 9/12 instead of just 9/12.

Ada is incredible! My phone was dead and she lent me her charger and she saved me. I was a damsel in distress and she saved me. She is also an incredible worker, her customer service excels. As well as Yvette. She makes incredible shakes and always welcomes with “What’s up queen”. They both always have a smile on their face! The bartender is also incredible and makes amazing drinks. He is very thoughtful in keeping my drinks low cal. He even asked me if I wanted syrup so that I didn’t ruin my workout which was amazing. This ambiance keeps me coming daily! They also always refill my tumbler with a smile each time!

Came to lifetime with my friends as a 17 year old. I went to scan the qr code and the lady at the front immediately profiled me and got disrespectful with me all I did was step to the side and fill out the form. She said he specifically cannot come into my gym she even got so agitated her co worker Noah had to hold her back I don’t know if she was gonna get violent but Noah had to put his hands on her to stop her from engaging when I did nothing but be a normal kid. She said this specific person can’t come in, I asked her if she was racially profiling me and she lashed out on me and started screaming in my face. I asked to speak to someone higher up and she got even more disrespectful and basically threw a business card at me. Another note she immediately took off her name tag because she knew she was in the wrong. I hope it was not a form of racism. Something I have never seen before. First and last time at lifetime fitness I don’t know why I was profiled.

This is a good gym and I like the upgrades they did to the gym floor however, today when I went in, I was shocked looked like a kids club. I understand kids come here, but I’m pretty sure they have their own locker room. The family locker room. It seems like the woman’s locker room has turned into the kids locker room no more towels no more showers hard to find a locker or space because all of the kids and family’s are in the woman’s locker room. Leaving wet Floaties all over the floor, floor is wet, overly packed locker room not even clean anymore because it’s so hard to maintain that many people because they’re not using the family locker rooms. Kids trying to use the sauna holding the doors open screaming in the showers. I just wanna come here and have a peaceful time in the hot tub and in the sauna they should be using the family locker room. Everybody is in there and they’re not using the family locker room. Coming here for two years The winter is never like this today was a major pandemonium in the locker room. They need to set more regulations and tell people to Use the family locker room because it is unfair to the other people who want to use the adult locker room. Also no visualization of the hot tub outside saw four six year olds taking all the space in the outdoor hotub. I thought it was twelve plus please get this together. This is looking like Splish splash or a kids club Not a luxury gym . Syosset location is not like this As I believe people, their respect more of the regulation of having to use the family locker room, whereas here nobody says anything.

I am writing this to express my deep disappointment, and if I could give zero stars, I would. Along with several friends and their families, we joined Lifetime for some extra summer fun. Our second visit was on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, just two days after signing up for the gym on July 7. That day also marked the beginning of the complimentary swimming lessons for our children.
The instructors for the younger kids (ages 3–7) were absolutely wonderful—kind, professional, and patient while teaching. Unfortunately, our experience with the instructor for the older kids, specifically with my 9-year-old daughter’s group, was unacceptable.
My daughter was placed in a class led by an instructor named Marcus. From the beginning, he started comparing her to another child in the class, shouting things like “Do FOLLOW HER!” while pointing at another student. Rather than encouraging or instructing, he stood outside the pool giving unclear directions in a loud, aggressive tone. My daughter began to frown and grow uncomfortable as he continued to yell at her without offering any constructive guidance.
The 30-minute class only got worse. Marcus looked visibly frustrated and continued yelling rather than calmly communicating with her. The final straw was when I heard him say to a lifeguard, “She sucks at swimming.” That level of disrespect toward a 9-year-old child is not only inappropriate—it is completely unacceptable.
I immediately went to the swimming office to file a complaint. The staff did not seem surprised and appeared to already know who I was referring to, which suggests that I was not the first to raise concerns about Marcus.
After the class, we tried to address the issue directly with Marcus. Shockingly, instead of showing any remorse or understanding, he responded with, “Now she learned,” as if yelling and belittling a child is a legitimate teaching method.
Excuse me—but do you seriously believe it is okay to yell at a 9-year-old girl to “make her learn”? That is not teaching. That is bullying.
This experience has left both me and my daughter deeply upset. Children should feel safe, encouraged, and supported when learning new skills—especially in an environment like Lifetime, which promotes family-friendly values.
I sincerely hope Lifetime takes this matter seriously and ensures that this kind of behavior is never repeated with any other child.

I’m extremely disappointed with the state of this Lifetime location. For a gym that charges nearly $400 a month for two memberships, the men’s bathroom is absolutely disgusting. It smells awful, the showers are filthy, and the sauna is in a repulsive condition. It’s clear that whoever is responsible for cleaning — often very young staff — are not properly trained or supervised. This is not only unacceptable, it’s a serious hygiene issue.
To make matters worse, the assault bike on the third floor has had a broken seat for over four months. Multiple members, including myself, have reported it, and nothing has been done. It’s incredibly frustrating to see maintenance issues ignored for this long, especially when we’re paying for a “luxury” gym experience.

This place is heaven for moms and dads that want some personal time to work out and have time for themselves to relax. It's like a little resort. My three toddlers are happy at the kids academy and I can finally have time for myself while still able to drop by to see how they are doing after each work out session. While others complain of the cost, the CP value is high imo and you get what you pay for. Kids academy doesn't give kids screen time. They actively engage with the kids with different classes and activities fitted for their age group.

Started at $250 a month pre- COVID.. during covid they offered to honor the rate for membership for those who continued with the membership. This was not honored. My monthly bill jumped to over $400. I eventually cancelled. Then signed up again although regretted my decision and cancelled within HOURS NOT DAYS. It was absolutely awful. They kept every dime and dodged all contact for cancelllation and kept every single dime which was over $600. AS OTHERS HAVE REPORTED, THERE IS ABSOLUTELY ZERO HONORABLE POLICY REGARDING CANCELATIONS THAT RESPECTS MEMBERS RIGHTS. WHAT IS VERBALLY COMMUNICATED REGARDING REFUNDS AND CANCELATION OF MEMBERSHIP IS NOT HONORED NOR REFLECTED IN WRITTEN POLICY. IF REFLECTECTED IN WRITTEN POLICY, IT IS NEGATED BY LEGAL EASE OR ARBRITRARY BACKDOOR POLICIES.
PROCEED WITH GREAT CAUTION AS YOURE NOT DEALING WITH AN HONORABLE COMPANY. THIS COMPANY IS COMPARABLE TO THIRD WORLD " POLICIES ", NONE EXIST IN ACTUALITY. I LOOK FORWARD TO THE DAY THEY ARE SUED.ITS A MATTER OF TIME UNTIL THEY CROSS THE WRONG INDIVIDUAL WITH THE TIME AND RESOURCES TO LEGALLY PURSUE.

-I joined this gym since the prices went UP and thought it would be decently empty; but found out the ‘past’ members still pay the original rate… overcrowded. Not to mention the staff ‘not enforcing the guest policies.’
-Management is mostly polite. Staff is 50/50 when it comes to decency.
Update- I don’t know what’s worse, 90% of the clientele OR 90% of the workers here. That sums up the atmosphere.
-If you rate cleanliness compared to a commercial gym; then yes, it’s clean. But, if you’re rating cleanliness based on a ‘club’ then this is not it.
-Never leaving my baby/toddler in the child care area ever; first time was a nightmare and that would be the last time… Decent enough for school-aged children though.

I am writing to express my concerns regarding the level of professionalism observed at the children's academy. I have noted that the behavior of the children's supervisor (Ms. Jackson)was discourteous. My daughter, who is three years old and diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, sustained an injury when her finger inadvertently became caught in a door during her time at the facility. It was recommended that I seek an aide for her, as one-on-one support is not available. While I am disappointed with this experience, I perceive an opportunity for improvement. My daughter is highly functional; however, it appears that there is a need for a deeper understanding of autism spectrum disorders within this facility. It seems that autistic children are not fully embraced here, but I remain hopeful for a future in which their unique needs are recognized and adequately supported. The current environment does not reflect inclusivity.

Had the worst experience ever at this gym with a front desk employee named Shannon. She was even covering her name tag when I asked for her name. I’ve been going to this gym for a few years now, and I’ve never encountered such a rude and sadistic person or worker.
I arrived at the gym around 10 PM after a long day at work and realized I had forgotten my Lifetime ID pass. I explained that I had forgotten it and drove over 45 minutes to get there. She told me I couldn’t get in. I mentioned that I’ve been coming to this gym for over three years and had driven 45 minutes to get there, but she still refused to let me in.
She had a grin on her face as I exited through the door. I’ve seen her working on weekend nights, and she never smiled or seemed happy to be there. But that night, when she saw me walking out, she was smiling with joy. Absolutely disgusting. I’m surprised Lifetime would hire people like her. She is such a pathetic and sadistic person.

Gym is great has everything you need , the older lady at the front desk is literally the worst. Came in last night and she gave us a hard time for no reason kept saying I’m the only one at the desk I can’t do anything meanwhile it was a Friday night no one was walking in. They should be hiring people who actually do their job. The whole point of being a member concierge is to address the needs of the gym member. She turned around telling us we need to come in during the day. We are professionals who have businesses we don’t have time to come in during the day because you’re too lazy to do your job. Lifetime needs to look into this

I used to like this gym, till everything started breaking and repairs take so long. To be paying the hundreds of dollars every month the recovery section should always be up to date, every time I go there either the massage chair is not working or the cryo lounge… welp today the normatech chairs are not reclining fully- only 2 out of the 3 kind of work- it’s been forever and we are missing the arm sleeve for one of the arms and one of the zippers on the leg sleeve are broken. Not even talking about the showers where there are left over towels, tissues and razors which makes it very uncomfortable, for the price we are paying they should have an employee in the locker rooms at all times keeping them clean and providing the necessities. I'm consistently stepping on a razor in the shower area. The sauna hasn't been deep cleaned in forever I guess, you can clearly see build up of mold in between the wood, are they trying to get people sick. There are always kids running around the workout machines, like great now iI need to worry about if this kid gets hurt because of me, its a total distraction and so unmotivating. The employees are half and half, half great half not so good. I thought the gym had a limit to the amount of gym memberships they allow again I guess not, its packed like an LA Fitness. To receive all the amenities you probably be paying around $500+ a month, its not like they can workout for me. This is absurd for this gym- they are lowering their standards. This gym is clearly excessively expensive and a waste of money. Its time for some change as this is clearly highway robbery.

I am deeply frustrated and appalled by the treatment my wife, Milana, received at Lifetime Garden City, and the way our complaint was handled by their management.
Milana, who barely speaks English, was repeatedly harassed and intimidated by Kenneth Lippe, the gym’s general manager. Despite Kenneth himself telling me that snacks are allowed, he continually targeted Milana, falsely accusing her of bringing food into the gym. She only brought snacks for our kids—something that was permitted for other members—and also purchased meals for herself and the children from the Lifetime cafe. Yet for some reason, Kenneth singled her out, constantly bothering her about it, even though other people regularly brought food into the swim area without issue. Other members have witnessed this and were shocked.
It's clear that Kenneth’s treatment of Milana was influenced by her language barrier, as she struggled to defend herself against his unfair accusations. It's possible that he mistook her for another individual named Milana, who had caused problems with staff and brought excessive food into the gym in the past. Regardless of any confusion, his behavior was rude, unprofessional, and felt like harassment.
To make matters worse, when we reached out to Lifetime's Guest Relations to address the situation, we expected them to resolve the issue. Instead of taking action to correct the mistreatment, they chose to terminate our membership without any explanation. This was a shocking and unfair response to a legitimate concern.
It’s beyond disappointing that Lifetime, a company that should prioritize customer service, chose to retaliate by punishing us instead of acknowledging and resolving the issue. We are left with a bitter taste in our mouths and will no longer be members of Lifetime. I hope others are aware of how complaints are handled here and consider this before joining. The way we were treated has been completely unacceptable, and I feel it’s important to share our experience.

We left this gym after they changed their membership fees according to ageism. Grown adults 29 years old are now considered unable to pay full price so the older 30 and up have to pay so much more. This is otherwise known as socialism. There are 25 year Olds that make more than some 50 year Olds yet here we are in 2020's living like we're in Venezuela. There is zero place for this type of class system at any company....least of all a company that says it's built on promoting a healthy lifestyle. I refuse to pay almost double that of someone else no matter their age. I refuse to shell our money supporting others. Sorry. This wokeness needs to stop.

I am incredibly disappointed with the customer service at the front desk of Lifetime Garden City, specifically with an employee named Ahmmed. Every time I visit, he singles me out, stopping me for no apparent reason, and recently refused to allow me to bring in a guest. His behavior is consistently rude, disrespectful, and controlling, as if he’s managing a budget gym rather than a premium fitness facility like Lifetime.
Despite bringing these concerns to the attention of management, nothing seems to change. In fact, the situation has only worsened over time. It’s disheartening to see how little management seems to care about the negative impact this has on the experience of their members. I’ve also noticed that I’m not the only one who feels this way; several other members have expressed similar frustrations.
I recently switched to Lifetime because of its reputation for quality service and a welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately, employees like Ahmmed are tarnishing that reputation and making members feel unwelcome. After dealing with this repeatedly, I decided to check out the Lifetime Syosset location, and it was a breath of fresh air. The staff there are welcoming and respectful, which is what I expected from Lifetime in the first place. Garden City could certainly learn a lot from their approach to customer service. Until changes are made, I cannot recommend this location to anyone seeking a positive gym experience.

I don’t know where all these good reviews are coming from !!!! as a member who goes almost every day I can say this gym is going down hill. Racks weights dumbbells even yoga mats are all broken, ripe and damage. The platforms of the racks are all broken. Plus kids are in the middle of the alpha area playing around putting them and members in dangers of one getting hurt. I went to the Syosset location and what a huge difference. Syosset location is way better as if we all don’t pay the same amount of money. Syosset even have a drink menu at the pool while we can barely get a bartender at times at garden city. The lounge 21+ area is way better there. Prices are increasing but the gym is going from bad to worse. I tried reaching out all my concerns but no one seen to care. This gym has become another planet fitness which was the reason why I came here because I was looking for something top-grade. At least in planet fitness you get for what you paid for. And here in Life time garden city you can’t even get front desk to greet you. Very very disappointed about this gym.

I was so excited to go my first time to try out lifetime in garden city…However, as soon as I came in the employee in the front Sharon had a miserable attitude and was giving my boyfriend and I are hard time to come in because we came 1 hour after the guest pass was available after we just drove over an hour. My boyfriend and I had no idea there was cutoff our friend who has a membership was there waiting for us and told us all we had to do was pay $75. It’s really unfortunate Lifetime has employees on the clock that make it horrible first time experience because we were looking for a new luxury gym, and this experience was far from luxury it was classless. The gym is a place of feeling good, Sharon is the complete opposite.

The first thing I want to say about Melissa is that she's amazing! In the first moment, I was struck by how down to earth she was, and I immediately knew that I wanted to take her classes and personal train with her exclusively. I am so glad I made this decision. Melissa's knowledge soon became apparent; everything is clearly explained, and one of my favorite aspects is that she explains why we are doing what we are doing (since she is a physician). In addition, she is extremely responsive, always happy to answer questions and provide detailed responses. We are very grateful to be able to have a bit of singing and banter as well! ((Whilst remaining professional of course!)Whenever necessary, certain exercises can be adjusted according to the individual's needs. Her ability to monitor everyone in the class, keep track of their limitations and injuries, and ensure that no one injures themselves is impressive. As a result of her cheerful attitude, the time flies by. I’ve been going to the gym for over 40 years and have never seen this in any other instruction or trainer .Working with a skilled, knowledgeable, and professional instructor and personal trainer is such a blessing. It is one of the primary reasons I remain with Lifetime.

Can’t say one negative about this place in my first 2 months. The facilities are very well managed, staff are all super friendly, members are very welcoming, and Andrew Tucker was the best trainer I could have asked for. He also went above and beyond monitoring my diet and health metrics on the app. He has been a game changer for me.

I recently joined Lifetime Gym in Garden City, and it has exceeded all my expectations! The facility is top-notch, with state-of-the-art equipment and a clean, modern environment. The variety of classes offered is impressive, catering to all fitness levels and interests, from yoga and pilates to high-intensity interval training and spinning.
The staff is incredibly friendly and professional, always ready to help and provide guidance. The trainers are knowledgeable and genuinely invested in helping members achieve their fitness goals. The spa and relaxation areas are an added bonus, offering a perfect way to unwind after a workout.
Lifetime Gym also fosters a strong sense of community, with regular events and activities that encourage members to connect and support each other. The convenience of having a café on-site with healthy food options is fantastic.
Overall, Lifetime Gym in Garden City offers an outstanding fitness experience. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to improve their health and well-being in a supportive and well-equipped environment. Five stars all the way.

Great Gym and Facilities. It is pricey and be sure to pay attention to notifications. There are “ up charges “ such as outdoor pool . They do offer a family plan which I use . There is a concierge that can walk you through the process before Joining. A few stand out employees that love their job , most people who work there a generally happy to be there . The rest are honestly stressed out and not at all happy, perhaps working there for the free membership. Overall an excellent gym.

Today, I visited this gym, and I have to say, it was quite disappointing. It seems more like a glorified LA Fitness, complete with an outdoor pool that inexplicably costs extra to use. I have been a member of Lifetime since 2012 and had my primary GYM as Syosset which I loved. Somehow, their algorithm automatically changes your home gym based on your visits. Since my kids go mostly to Garden City Lifetime, it was defaulted to that location. I have never been a fan of this location and always been disappointed with both the facilities and the management. From the outset, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming and lacked the vibrant energy one expects from a reputable gym.
The equipment, touted as state-of-the-art, is poorly maintained. Several machines were either out of order or in such a state of disrepair that attempting to use them felt more like a safety hazard than a workout opportunity. The general lack of cleanliness further exacerbated my concerns, with dusty corners and grimy surfaces evident throughout the gym floor and locker room.
What truly soured my experience, however, was the unprofessional behavior exhibited by the general manager. Despite multiple attempts to address my concerns about my membership benefits, I was met with dismissiveness and a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction. The manager's indifference to the issues raised, coupled with a lack of transparency regarding their customer service, left me with the impression that customer care and facility maintenance were not his priorities.
Moreover, the overall ambiance of Garden City Lifetime is far from conducive to a positive fitness experience. The locker rooms are poorly maintained, with broken lockers and a pervasive odor that suggested inadequate cleaning practices. The supposed 'amenities' promised on their website are either unavailable or not up to the standard one would expect from a premium gym facility.
In conclusion, Garden City Lifetime is a regrettable experience that highlight significant shortcomings in both facility management and customer service. I would strongly advise potential members to reconsider their options and seek a gym that values cleanliness, maintenance, and customer satisfaction above all else.

The blonde girl up front is always nice and friendly. However, the manager was unreasonable and not very accommodating to members, even if you're spending thousands a year and have been a member at this gym for a long time YEARS. The classes at the Gym are excellent. The class instructors are amazing, friendly. It is like a family at this gym. However when signing up as a signature member Pickleball was included in the membership There is limited open play making it very difficult signing up to play pickleball. There is now a limited wait list. Many of the times are used for leagues and instruction for additional charge which is not fair to the signature members. Classes I give a 5+ but Pickle ball system I give it a 2. I pray that people will have more accessibility to Pickleball.

I’ve been a member of lifetime for about a year now. As time goes on I contemplate canceling my membership.
The showers are disgusting and smell like urine. There’s barley ever any towels when it’s peek hour. Half the lockers are busted.
The sauna has broken wooden floor planks, and the steam room I’ve stopped using completely due to the mold growth.
I’ve made a complaint in the past regarding the sanitary conditions in the men’s locker room. They seemed to do some cleaning of the floors. Now we’re back to the disgusting mess.
I’ve seen staff at the front desk let non members into the gym just because they know them. Not once and not twice. Not just one person but multiple.
If I’m going to pay almost $500 a month between my wife , child and I, then I expect a clean, and sanitary gym, that’s not over crowded with non members. Lockers that function and clean towels.
Let’s be real, LIFE TIME garden city. If I were you I would make some serious changes. MULTIPLE people are complaining about the same issues I just addressed. Lifetime is now the next upcoming LA fitness. Believe me, this club shouldn’t be compared to la fitness.

I have been member more than 4 years at GC and used to be great club. I have not had any issues until 6-7 months ago that every day there is an issue regarding the spa, showers, dryer and in women lockers have seen many spots are not clean and showers are filthy in the early morning.
Most importantly they are getting more members that doesn’t meet with their capacity because we have to wait for empty lane at the pool. Also some members are so mean and rude to other members who should take it seriously considering by managers of the club.
All the above issues coming from bad management, must solve asap.
The other issue is that every year they increase the membership fee and this year my fee has increased to 40 percent which is not reasonable, unfortunately the Life Time in Garden City has become a total disaster.

My father and I uses LT probably 4 to 5 times a week. We alternates between GC and Syosset since both gym are around the same distance from my house. Even though both gyms are very similar, they are also different in there own ways. Ahmed at GC is the main reason we goto GC. He helped open all of our family memberships, (6 of them), installed the app on our phones and even made barcode membership cards for my parents (whom are less tech savvy). He greets all of us each time we visit and says good bye each time we leaves. He would go out of his ways to help you and make you feel more appreciated. LT is very fortunate to have Ahmed as the front desk ambassador to represent its premium service and product.

Was busy at work, January 2022 went back to the gym to find out I owed them $300 in membership fees because they started charging my card without me knowing. (I renewed my credit card and didn’t know they tried charging my old card) now they updated their pricing and price has increased 40% for my single membership. This is not how you do business. Tried talking with them but it fell on deaf ears. Enjoyed the gym but after an experience like this, they really don’t care about their members.

This gym a couple years ago was thriving great staff and members all good nowadays it's a toxic environment.
• Bugs in male locker room for the past week
• 3x Showers out of service for about 2 weeks now
• Jacuzzi is disgusting with fungus growing and lord knows what else
• Gym equipment in poor shape
• Basketball courts in attended bandaids, blood, dust and gum all over walls and floor
• Signed up for the 2 courts which are now replaced for pickleball which caused a toxic environment creating arguments and fights no chance to train because multiple games and people waiting for next.
• Staff threaten to cancel your membership when you voice feedback
• No towels and when you ask staff for a towel you're met with a comment or smirk
• Showers stink and are in horrible shape
• Drying machine does not work
• Steam room covered in used paper towels
• Staff won't even answer a call when attempting to reach them in locker room (What if an emergency or medical situation?)
• Ask for help or information they just point you to the next person which in turn says "IDK" ask front desk
• Locker room in poor shape along with locks barely functioning
• Prices raised and quality dropped drastically funny how that works
Nite and Day difference between Garden City and Syosset the staff in Syosset have a positive attitude and make you feel welcome, gym locker rooms and equipment in amazing shape and routinely cleaned and inspected.

Lifetime used to be a great gym. Garden City has become a total disaster. Everything is broken. Last week 4 showers out of order. This week 3 showers. The locker room hot tub and the indoor pool hot tub closed. This is at 8am! The machine to spin dry your wet gear broken as well. The place is filthy at 8am. Showers completely beat up. The shower soaps often empty or broken. Again. At 8am!! The lockers are mostly beat up with the locking mechanisms either broken or they lock you out and you need a key. The reward at the end of the workout was the kitchen in the Cafe was also... wait for it.... broken! Find another gym. Other Lifetime gyms are way better. This location needs to be shutdown for at least 3 months for a complete overhaul. At $200 plus a month this place is unacceptable. Do better or it's time to move on!

I just joined Life Time and so far my experience has been wonderful. While I cannot speak about the gym ( I don’t go there) let us talk about the lap pool. The water and deck area are clean and the water is kept at a good temp for swimming. However, the life guards seem to really not understand their role. I am a retired Pediatric RN and I find it baffling that some of the life guards eat, drink, socialize and stare at their phones during their rotations on the chair while children run on the deck, jump into the lab swim lanes, often fortunately missing the swimmer by an inch and generally behaving like completely unsupervised children tend to do. If a child slips and hits his/her head on the pool rim and slides into the water, the “life guard” would not notice. This is very concerning and can lead not just to serious and lasting health repercussions for the child and swimmer but to legal consequences for Life Time Gyms. Please re-enforce pool rules. They are in place for a reason. This being the safety of all.
Best regards,
Batya Zamir

Jason’s energy is very zenful and uplifting. He’s also very personable and remembers everyone’s name!

June 27.
Garden City location.
Arbout a month the spinner for the wet swimsuits it's been broken , with a "out of order" sign on it.
Third straight day the hot tub its closed at 1 PM.
The men's room, the pool one and outdoor.
Even the 15 dollars clock in the hot tub room was broken for two weeks, removed for a week, not replaced.
If I am to go to a place that things are broken and not fixed I pay 100 for my family in any other cheap gym, and no over 400 as I do now here.
Either they got greedy or it's bad management written all over it.
Don't bother calling my family.
Just fix stuff

Quality of membership here has been consistently deteriorating over the years I've been here. It's become absurdly overcrowded. The staff have become gradually more intrusive.
Example 1: 11:50 pm, the front desk has already announced the closing time at one hour, thirty minutes, and fifteen minutes before closing. I walk up to the third floor to finish my workout. The staff tells me it's 11:50. I know. "are you gonna take a shower after?", the guy asks? I wasn't, but it's none of his business. I ignore him. Behavior like this has become the norm here.
Example 2: I'm finishing my workout on my squat rack. Staff walks by, intent on making eye contact, a minute later asks me if I can help her rack the weights on the other squat racks because the weights are very heavy for her. Out of politeness I help her with one of the squat racks, but frankly this is unprofessional. She's staff, I'm a paying member. If she's unable to do her job, she should seek help from the other staff. She should not be bothering the gym members.
I prefer to work out in relative privacy without being interrupted by the staff.
And one more thing, it seems like no one at the free weights area knows how to put the dumbbells back into their correctly numbered racks. Can often expect to find a 60 lb dumbbell in the 20 lb slot and vice versa. I guess you don't need to be literate to afford the most expensive gym in long island.

Bathrooms in women’s locker are not as clean as one would expect for the price. I still notice machines are not being reviewed for not working. For a luxury club price, this is not the experience I imagined.

This place is gross, dirty, and out of date. This place is packed starting at 6am. the showers are never cleaned and smells like a high school locker. there are no other luxury gyms in the GC area so theres no competition. Life time in syosset just poured money into renovating their showers and amenities, total upgrade with equipment etc. because theres competition in syosset area. I cancelled and would rather pay more at equinox and drive an extra 20 minutes just for better quality of service. this place is just milking for the most money possible.
The staff are horrible. front desk people always seems annoyed to help you. I came up to check in once and the two guys are so busy with their own conversation with the scanner in hand that he had to wait until he is done with his thought with his friends before scanning my card. just left me there standing there for a solid minute like I am intruding into their conversation. that day was my day to quit this place. coming around to let them know I want to quit, they treated me like a basket ball making fun for misdirecting me and walking around the desk in a circle twice. He had the audacity to ask me why I want to quit. Well duh. im not sure if he want me to say its because of you and how bad they are at their jobs of scanning people's cards.
The towels seem clean but never feel clean. They are used and abused to the point that it's just a rag.. not a towel.
I even submitted a request to equinox to open a location in GC. This place have ZERO competition in the area. There are literally no other luxury gyms in the area. so they don't care about the quality. They just want the money for you to buy into their fake brand. I guarantee you all. if Equinox opened a location, this place would invest some money to fix it up than only milk their clients like cash cows.

Amazing gym. Has all you need. I went in with a guest pass. Gym is expensive but I see the appeal for those who can afford it. Smoothies, spa, pool, sauna, steam room, etc. Bathrooms offer shavers, shaving cream, mouthwash, and cotton swabs. Definitely worth a visit. Gym is also very big. Compromises three floors!!! Staff was also very kind and attentive.

Just started and I am thrilled to report that I am impressed. It's a great gym if you are looking for doing more than just lift weights. Three pickle ball courts, full court basketball, multiple indoor pools, sauna, steam room, a ton of studio classes for different levels of fitness, good quality machines. It's clean, not super crowded and so far everyone has been polite. It's pricey but you get what you pay for. If you take advantage of everything it's a great deal. Highly recommend!

must be a really good place if the day pass is 75 quids, taking into account the fact that they don’t even connect you to the front desk for questions.

Paid $50 for a one day pass and was disappointed to find that most of the machines were out of order.
The locker room was clean and spacious but in my several attempts to try out the amenities, women were talking on their phones in the sauna or applying really strong lotions and hair treatments and SHAVING in the steam room making it unsanitary.
It was also pretty busy for a Wednesday from about 1:30pm-3:30pm people were constantly coming in and out of the sauna/steam room so the temperature didn't really stay consistent or it was crowded. I gave up and left.
I couldn't justify paying over $200/month for a membership here. And at that cost, Life Time can afford a repair man to fix the machines.
