I don't know what is wrong with this location. I signed up 4 sessions of training, before I even started, I have been billed for 600 bucks. Ok, i thought this could be advance. Then I couldn't go to gym due to sickness, then I found 30 days later, another charge of 600 bucks. This turned into a trap that just grab your money. I called 4 times, went to the gym specifically for this, but no one will call me back or get back to me. Till then I have to call the bank to dispute the payment and went to cancel my membership. What a bad taste. I am also going to file to BBB.

I had such a positive experience at this gym, thanks especially to Aisha. She was incredibly helpful and welcoming—she took the time to show me around the facilities and made me feel comfortable in what can sometimes be an intimidating environment for an older woman. Aisha eased my worries and connected me with trainers and staff who were a great fit for my needs. I also appreciate that she checks in with me whenever we cross paths—it really makes me feel valued. The gym itself is always clean, and the people there are friendly and supportive.

Very weird / bad experience in the locker room - in the family & children’s locker room- single men without kids kept trucking through. 3 times while i was there. Not changing, just using the locker room, which should be a private place, as a hallway.

The 3rd time i mentioned it to them- i said “are you single guys trucking through”? Another employee said (in a snippy tone) “ That’s the GM” and proceeded to explain/ argue to me that he’s allowed to do whatever he wants and I could change In the toilet if i want privacy. No emergency or problem was going on- they were just taking a shortcut.

Bad hospitality from the GM, bad response from the staff member, and bad policy all around for a place that is supposed to be a high end “Luxury” health club. People should feel comfortable and safe.

We had such a great experience signing up for our Lifetime membership, thanks to Aisha! She was incredibly kind, professional, and accommodating from start to finish. She made the whole process smooth and enjoyable, answered all of our questions patiently, and even offered us smoothies while we waited, which was such a thoughtful touch.

It’s rare to meet someone who makes a sign-up process feel so pleasant and welcoming, but Aisha truly did. We left feeling excited and confident about joining Lifetime, all thanks to her amazing customer service.

Highly recommend working with Aisha — she’s wonderful!

Overall, the gym is great, but something frustrating about the basketball court is that for the one court that they have they have weekly league games three times a week and on weekends, they have birthday parties and reservations. They also have random reservations throughout the week. Last Friday the court was closed the entire day because of a reservation, I'm like is this a joke?

I'm not saying to never have games or reservations, but it should be significantly reduced. It shouldn't be this often. Two years ago they got rid of the second court that they have converted it to Pickleball and this is all we have for the 1 court that we have?

Like I would give it a higher rating if the one basketball court had more time for us to play basketball but the fact that they removed an entire basketball court and the other court is barely available. I'm like how am I not supposed to be upset? This is the part that made me the most furious every Friday and Tuesday I go to play basketball and then it's just randomly closed on Friday and I'm like this is just ridiculous at this point I'm sorry.

This is the best place to be and a super friendly environment! The staff is incredibly kind and the whole community is very positive! Special shoutout to Caitlyn at the front desk who is so kind and sweet, and welcoming and it’s always great to see a friendly face as soon as I walk in-it’s so nice talking to her every day! Love this place. The spa is fabulous. Love the hot tub and cold plunge. No. I hate the cold plunge. Ha. Women’s locker rooms are excellent. Sauna is nice and hot. There are two. One co-ed and one is female only. Steam is female only. Showers are clean. Free towels are plentiful. Ample Free parking.
Love to do laps. The pool area can get crazy loud when swim team or kids lessons are happening. Bring ear plugs. Staff is helpful and nice. Very accommodating.

I had a very unpleasant experience at the Lifetime front desk today. I went there around 1PM to ask about a billing question. At that time, one staff member was on the phone, and another (a lady in a green shirt and black skirt, I believe her name is Christina) was helping two women on a tablet. I waited patiently right next to their computer, standing quietly and giving them space, expecting that once they were done, someone would help me.

When Christina finished with the two women, instead of acknowledging me, she immediately started helping another lady who had just walked up. I politely said “excuse me” and reminded her that I had been waiting first. Rather than apologizing or addressing me, she simply said she couldn’t help me because she didn’t know how to use the computer and that I had to wait for the other staff member who was still on the phone.

When the other staff member finally got off the phone, instead of turning to me, she and Christina chose to help the other lady together. I had to get their attention again just to be acknowledged. The entire interaction felt dismissive. At no point did either of them apologize or show basic courtesy.

Eventually, the lady who had been on the phone did help me with my billing question, but by then the experience had already felt extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. I was polite and patient throughout, yet I left feeling ignored and mistreated. For a club like Lifetime, I expected much better service and respect for members’ time.

I’ve been a member at Lifetime Syosset for a while, and while the facility has potential, there are serious issues that have made the experience frustrating. First, the prices keep going up, yet the gym remains overcrowded and often unsanitary—largely due to misuse of memberships and lax enforcement in the past.

There are far too many fake family memberships being used, where friends or people with the same last name submit fake leases to get discounted family pricing—as low as $60 per person. It’s unfair to paying members and completely undermines the integrity of the membership structure.

Former employees like openly abused the guest policy and let in anyone they were friends with, turning the gym into a free-for-all. That kind of favoritism contributed heavily to the crowding and decline in overall cleanliness.

Recently, I’ve noticed employees like Dani and Ayeesha taking a more professional and strict approach, which is a step in the right direction. They’ve been enforcing policies at the front desk and doing a better job holding members accountable. This is the main reason I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1—at least now there seems to be some effort to restore order.

That said, there’s still a long way to go. Lifetime needs to audit existing accounts and clean up the abuse in their system. If people are misusing family pricing through fake documentation, it’s not only unfair—it’s costing loyal members the premium experience they’re paying for. Currently, Lifetime is an overpriced LA Fitness.

We’ve been Life Time members for a while and usually enjoy the facility, but this summer was disappointing. My brother and sister often visit during the kids’ summer break, and we love spending time together as a family. Naturally, the kids ask to bring their aunt with them to Life Time, but the guest policy only allows someone to visit once every 60 days—even during summer.

It’s really frustrating that Life Time can’t extend guest privileges during a time when families are off from school and spending more time together. When we tried to bring our guest again, the staff at the front desk made a big scene, which was really embarrassing.

In the end, we decided to purchase seasonal passes to local water parks instead, where the entire family—including our guests—can join us freely. Honestly, it turned out to be more affordable and much more enjoyable. We’re now planning to freeze our Life Time membership during summers going forward.

We truly hope Life Time reconsiders its guest policy, at least during school breaks when family visits are more common. Flexibility would go a long way in supporting families who want to stay active—together.

I am a new member to Life Time in Syosset. I always knew that the club’s extensive equipment and countless amenities made its costly membership fee seem reasonable but what I’ve now seen that truly makes the club stand out above the other gyms in the area is the quality of the staff and that all starts with Aisha at the front desk

With her being the first person who all of the club members meet and see whenever they enter the gym, she is the face of the whole business and that is not an easy position to be in

She greeted me with such warmth and welcoming energy, as if we were old friends. I immediately felt right at home, with the way she was treating me. Her positive attitude and happy demeanor are very infectious. She was extremely helpful throughout the whole setup process

She really went above and beyond to ensure that I felt welcomed to the gym and that I knew about all of the different amenities and opportunities that are offered to me as a member. Her intimate and detailed knowledge of everything within the gym was so impressive. She had thorough answers to all of my inquiries on a wide variety of topics

A gym can have all of the best equipment and amenities in the world but, just like any other business, the staff is ultimately what makes a business have long term success or quickly fail. After having met and interacted with Aisha, it’s no surprise to me that Life Time has been considered the gold standard of fitness clubs for well over a decade

Aisha is an absolute gem of a human being and an invaluable asset to Life Time Syosset. She deserves all of the positive recognition that she receives in the glowing reviews about her on here. I hope that the ownership of the gym realizes the immense value that she consistently brings to every member’s life and to the continued long term success of the gym

5 stars for Life Time and 100 stars for Aisha ⭐️

I find it mind boggling that members have the audacity to speak on an employee’s integrity when it comes to following the gym’s policy. I’ve seen it first hand with how entitled these members feel just with the sweetest front desk employee Ayesha. This review is in response to the delusional comments being left on her name.

I cannot rave enough about Ayesha, the front desk employee at Lifetime Gym! From the moment I stepped through the doors of the gym, she has consistently made every visit an absolute pleasure. I’ve been a member of Lifetime for quite some time now, but it’s Ayesha’s exceptional customer service and warm demeanor that has truly elevated my experience.

First of all, Ayesha always greets every member with a bright smile and friendly attitude. No matter what time of day it is, she manages to make you feel like a valued member of the Lifetime community. Her positive energy is contagious, and I always look forward to interacting with her as I come in or leave. It’s rare to see someone with such a natural ability to connect with people, but Ayesha does it effortlessly. She knows so many members by name, and that personal touch really sets her apart.

Beyond her friendly attitude, Ayesha is incredibly professional. Whether I need assistance with checking in, navigating membership details, or figuring out class schedules, she’s always quick to offer help and does so with a smile. I’ve noticed that she has a deep knowledge of the gym’s offerings, which makes the entire process smooth and stress-free. She doesn’t just answer questions; she genuinely helps make the experience better, no matter what the inquiry.

Another thing that really stands out is how Ayesha handles busy times. The front desk can get hectic, especially during peak hours, but she remains calm, efficient, and always composed. She manages the flow of people and tasks with ease, and I can’t even imagine how many different things she’s juggling at any given moment. Her ability to stay organized and upbeat, no matter how chaotic the environment gets, is truly impressive.

I’ve also witnessed Ayesha go above and beyond to assist other members, always showing a level of care and attention that makes you feel truly appreciated. She’s the kind of person who is always looking out for others, whether it’s offering a word of encouragement to someone working out or helping a new member get acclimated to the gym. I’ve personally seen her assist someone with a special request, going out of her way to make sure they were taken care of—and she did it with such grace.

The welcoming atmosphere that Ayesha creates at the front desk is one of the reasons I keep coming back to Lifetime. It’s rare to find someone who genuinely loves what they do and is so good at it, but Ayesha does it all with an ease that makes every visit feel like a positive experience. She represents everything that Lifetime Gym stands for—community, positivity, and top-notch customer service.

If I could give Ayesha more than five stars, I absolutely would! She’s a gem and truly an asset to the gym. Thanks to her, I always look forward to my workouts, and I leave the gym feeling energized and uplifted, not just from the exercise, but from the fantastic interactions with Ayesha.

Ayesha, thank you for making Lifetime Gym such a wonderful place to be! Keep being amazing—you’re a real standout in the world of customer service. 🙌✨

My review is in response to Mr Hatamleh, his son and to all other gym members that have written a negative review regarding Aisha.
I dedicate my 5 star rating to Aisha.

I’m truly sorry to hear Mr Hatamleh that you and your son had a negative experience at this location. That said, I’d like to offer a bit of perspective as someone who frequents the gym and has consistently interacted with Aisha.

She’s one of the most respectful, professional, and helpful staff members I’ve met here — and one of the main reasons I’ve continued my membership despite concerns I’ve had with other aspects of the club. Her approach is always guided by policy, including the guest pass limit (once every 60 days) and the 9 PM cutoff for guest check-ins, which she enforces fairly across the board.

I completely understand how frustrating it can be when a policy catches you off guard — especially if it impacts your time or plans. But from everything I’ve seen, Aisha handles those moments with firmness and courtesy. I genuinely think the issue here might have been more about a misunderstanding of Lifetime’s policies rather than the person delivering them.

I hope you’ll reconsider your view of her and maybe even give the location another chance in the future. She’s someone who takes her role seriously and deserves to be acknowledged for how much she does — often under pressure. I’ve seen it first hand, 9pm strikes and the guests swarm the entrance on certain nights.

Yes, we pay a premium to be here, and part of that comes with the expectation that guest access is properly managed. The gym is already crowded as is.

Wishing you and your son better experiences moving forward.

Now that I’m here to leave a review, I want to point out a more pressing concern: the ongoing cleanliness issues, particularly in the men’s locker room. I’ve brought this up to several managers over time, yet no meaningful action has been taken.

I trust that Life Time Syosset will take this feedback seriously and focus on addressing the facility’s actual issues, rather than being distracted by unfounded complaints about a staff member who is simply doing her job — and doing it well.

I will also be writing to corporate directly, as it’s clear the priority should be improving the gym experience itself, not targeting dedicated employees like Aisha.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I’ve been coming to Lifetime for a while now and want to recognize Aisha as an outstanding team member. She always greets me with a smile and treats everyone with fairness and professionalism.

Reading through some of the reviews here, I’m frustrated to see such negative comments directed at someone who’s simply doing her job. I’ve personally seen members try to pressure Aisha into bending club policies, and she always responds with calmness and kindness—explaining that following the rules is part of her job and that breaking them could put her role at risk. Sadly, some people respond with disrespect, which is unfair.

Aisha is professional, consistent, and respectful to all. She’s a big reason why Lifetime still has my business, and they’re extremely lucky to have her.

I wondered why this location always had bad reviews , specifically towards the front desk staff. Until today, my son who is a frequent member brought in a new guest who has never visited any lifetime locations was confronted by a woman named Ayesha accusing his guest of already visiting the gym and not allowing him entry. Needless to say she was very disrespectful towards my son. He called me and told me what happened , so I called her directly and when we spoke all it took was a few minutes to realize why my son engaged in an altercation with her . I feel sorry for everyone including myself , for paying a steep price and having to deal with this miserable person every time we walk into the gym . I will never visit this location again if I have to deal with her attitude when I walk in.

I always go to lifetime in garden city today I switched it up and decided to go to the syosset location and the lady aisha with a hijab on was very very disrespectful I wanted to bring a guest in and she didn’t want to let us in saying that my guest was here already in the past 60 days even though he never came in, she has no class at all, she is very low class in the way she speaks. I then went to my normal location in garden city and then they let me in with my guest and confirmed with me that he hasn’t been in the gym in the past 60 days. I don’t know how she deals with 100s of people talking like that, at least now I know to never ever try something new and go back to the syosset location again.

First of all, Life time has saved my life. It’s not just the exercise— it’s the staff and other members. From the front check in to the trainers to the custodians, I feel welcomed as well as lifted up. But the facilities are top notch too of course. Once you join lifetime you can never go anywhere else. The caliber of classes, equipment, food (there is even waiter service outside), pool (indoor and out), sauna (co-ed or individual), steam room, cold plunge, hot tubs — yes more than one!), shower facilities, locker room amenities, kids club, pickleball, basketball, and personal training. Personally I have been training with JC for a few months and I have transformed my body but also been able to exhibit some self control (very hard lol). I have had other personal trainers and he is, by far, the best trainer I have ever had. My intentions to just do one session were clearly changed immediately once I spent one hour with JC. In addition, I need to mention Tripp, who has transformed my life. He does two spin classes called InspiRide which are more than inspiring ; they are life altering. Thank you Lifetime Syosset for everything. ❤️❤️❤️

The gym is beautiful however I find the syosset staff to be very nasty. I’ve been going back and forth about a Medicare membership for about a month. I was told I can lock in a rate. Since I’m disable alot of the machines and equipment were beneficial to me. I questioned the rate to staff. They told me to come in to set it up. Unfortunately they said I misunderstood and they could not accommodate my request. I understand that it could not be met but they didn’t have to be so nasty about it. You would think that with the prices they charge , I could atleast expect a modicum of courtesy. I would also like to add, there have been a number of prior instances where they were rude. Overall I’m very disappointed with the outcome and I would not recommend this location to anyone.

Dear.Lifetime owner,

I cancelled our memberships last month, largely due to concerns echoed in many of the reviews I’ve since read. I originally joined at the Syosset location, where I found the front desk staff to be dismissive at times.

At one point, I raised a concern with a staff member about the lack of etiquette in the sauna—frequent loud conversations and music blasting from earbuds—but she never followed up or addressed it, even after multiple encounters.

Over time, I noticed a decline in the overall condition of the gym. The treadmills, for instance, are not as clean as they once were, and the facility in general feels worn. I tried alternating between Syosset and Garden City, hoping to justify the cost of maintaining two memberships, but unfortunately, I couldn’t.

No response is necessary—I simply wanted to share honest feedback.

Best regards,

Lifetime Syosset sets a high bar when it comes to environment and clientele — and it’s staff like Aisha that keep it running at that level.

I watched her handle a high-stress situation with total composure and professionalism. No ego, no hesitation — just calm leadership and smart decision-making. That kind of poise is exactly what’s needed in a space that often caters to celebrities and pro athletes, such as that at Lifetime Sky.

On top of that, she’s genuinely kind and welcoming — the type of presence that makes the whole experience better. A real asset to the team.

Booked a 6pm class a week ago and didn’t get notice until 5pm day of that my reservation was cancelled, even though I never cancelled it. Apparently the class itself was cancelled but when I asked the staff about it, no one seemed to know what I was talking about. Shouldn’t the staff at the front desk know if a class was cancelled!? The only answer I got was “oh yeah I guess so” 🙄

I have been a loyal patron of this establishment for over 9 years and have consistently received excellent customer service. However, interaction with manager Matt left me dissatisfied as he charged me the full $80 for my guest who arrived at 6pm during the summer one year. This was disappointing, considering the significant amount I have spent at the spa and cafe and lessons for my daughter over the years.

Upon returning to the facility after an injury, I had the pleasure of meeting Aisha at the front desk. Her exceptional customer service skills and in-depth knowledge made my experience even more enjoyable.

Writing this from the gym right now. Some of these instructors (Donna/Maria) have to get off their high horse. There are signs up that say people cannot use the sound system when the studio is unoccupied, I mean FFS - you wanna charge people an arm and leg but can’t afford them simple pleasures like using an aux wire? And let’s talk about the attitude they have when they try to reprimand someone. You work at a gym, my fees pay your salary. Stay humble.

Traveled to this gyms location from Oakdale, for my daughter’s soccer game. She forgot her water, so I went inside to see about purchasing one. I had to show my ID and sign a waiver to buy a $5 water. Lady at the front desk was short and rude when questioned why this is. When I came home I browsed the website. $330 a month??? lol. Not much different than LA fitness for $30-$40 per month. Whoever is responsible for reading these comments, maybe it would be a good idea to change policies and not force IDs and signatures to buy a water.

I had the pleasure of training with JC(Jorge) at Lifetime and I highly recommend him. From day one, he demonstrated exceptional knowledge of fitness, tailoring workouts specifically to my goals. He was supportive, provided encouragement and pushed me to achieve my goals. Thanks to JC I've not only lost weight but also gained strength and confidence.
I've been a member of Lifetime for several months and can confidently say its the best gym I ever joined. The facilities are top notch, always clean, well maintained and equipped with a variety of machines. The staff is also friendly and knowledgeable and always willing to help with any questions or tips.

I rejoined Lifetime in late 2024/early 2025. The gym itself is beautiful and I'm a big fan of the pool. There's also a ton of space to move around and work out. I ended up getting a personal trainer because I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in September 2024 and was pretty sedentary during the later half of last year. J.C. (Jorge) is a fantastic trainer. He is very knowledgeable and charismatic. Each session feels very tailored to me, my abilities and goals. I always leave knowing that I'll feel properly sore the next day and I feel way more comfortable with all the machines. I've now lost some weight/body fat in my first few months and am much stronger. I definitely have a much better basis for all of my future workouts and gym goals. Definitely sticking to this gym, everything about it is too nice!

Overpriced for what it is and always crowded, however the gym offers a great SPA and cafe, also open to non-members. Whenever I check in at the front desk, it's rarely welcoming. The desk members, particularly the girl wearing the bow ribbon in her hair, is not very welcoming - at least not to me - instead of a friendly interaction, I was met with a dirty look. For the price of the membership, I'd expect a more welcoming environment.

The GM is warm welcoming and staff super helpful. The kids academy is available to drop your kids to make it happen with goals . Plus my kids love it here. Personal trainers are super knowledgeable.

I have been a member since Covid, it used to be a great gym and still is in many ways. But since the summer the place is constantly crowded. Which is great, happy membership is up. But when you’re working out and the floor is filled with teenagers and twenty year olds scrolling on their phones it gets frustrating. You are left to fight for equipment with the other members trying to actually workout. Not socialize. It’s a difficult problem to deal with but I hope they remember the members who stuck it out the last few years.

Forgot to mention the Cafe staff are rude and lazy. Multiple people just standing around chatting while orders pile up. Like i said, these problems starting 6-8 months ago and have been steadily getting worse.

Update 2/17- they have drastically oversubscribed the memberships. Today it felt like a Planet Fitness, I’m spending too much money for this experience. I’m giving it until the end of March then I’m cancelling and heading to LA Fitness. Really disappointed because I used to love it there.

I’ve been debating whether to write this review, but after hearing many similar experiences and everything I’ve experienced with the lady at the front, it needs to be said. I was a member for over a year, paying $250 a month, but her behavior is the reason I ultimately left.

From the start, Aisha went out of her way to make me feel unwelcome. She would consistently double-check my membership at the desk every single time I came in, even though she clearly knew I was a paying member. Meanwhile, I watched her let other people walk in without signing in or being questioned. This blatant favoritism and discriminatory behavior were incredibly frustrating and insulting.

What’s worse is that Aisha has made outright racist comments, such as referring to me and my friends as “you people.” It’s shocking that a staff member in a customer-facing role would act this way. Her actions are not just disrespectful but also completely unacceptable in any professional setting.

For a gym charging $250 a month, members deserve to be treated with respect and fairness—not subjected to discrimination and constant scrutiny. Aisha’s attitude and behavior have tarnished the reputation of this gym, and it’s no wonder others have expressed similar frustrations.

Management needs to step in and take immediate action. Aisha either needs proper training on how to treat members with respect and professionalism, or she shouldn’t be in this role. Until this issue is resolved, I cannot recommend this gym to anyone. No one should have to deal with this kind of treatment, especially in a place meant for community and wellness.

Lifetime in Syosset has been terrible these past couple of months. The prices keep going up every month and they aren’t adding anything new. They have been saying they would add the cold plunge for months and still haven’t added it yet. Also the sauna used to close at 12 when the gym closed. Now they are closing the pool deck and everything at 11:45 it’s ridiculous with the amount of money we are paying for this it didn’t used to be like this. Also the guest hours are so dumb. Why does it matter to bring in someone in at 9:20 instead of before 9 it makes no sense and it didn’t used to be like that. Also the staff at the front desk most of them are nice but one in particular the women with the hijab was really rude I tried bringing in guest at 9:25 I tried calling the gym before hand twice and no answer to ask them. There was heavy traffic and I so I couldn’t get there before 9 I get there she’s says I can’t bring them in and as I’m leaving she starts laughing at me. The gym keeps getting worse and worse and it used to be a really great gym. I’m glad this was my last month here.

My experience at Lifetime Syosset has been fantastic. The management team is deeply connected to the community, addressing member concerns promptly and effectively. I’ve been a member since 2019, and the cleanliness has significantly improved, especially with Edwin Hetman taking an active role. my children were participate in your sport skills (9-11 years) at 6 o'clock today. My son fell down during class because the ground was slippery. His lip was bitten and his knee was injured. He felt a pain in his knee and needed help from the coach. He told your coach that he was injured and needed a hemostatic patch. But your coach didn't help him or give him a hemostatic patch. My son politely asked your coach (five times) in this class, and finally the coach answered him: Why do you children like to have a hemostatic patch so much? Finally She didn't do anything.

Why when I went to pick them up, nobody told me about my son's injury from staff of the day care.

I can only take him to the front desk to ask for a hemostatic patch to comfort my son's fear first.

I’ve had the pleasure of interacting with Aisha, Emma, and Dianna at Lifetime Syosset, and they are truly an amazing team. Every time I walk in, they greet me with super positive vibes and the warmest smiles. Aisha is incredibly knowledgeable on the facilities, timings of all events, and lifetime policies in general and always makes you feel welcome and valued, whether it’s your first visit or you’re a regular. Emma and Dianna, who I’ve occasionally run into in the gym, are also some of the nicest and most supportive people I’ve met. Aisha really was the higlight of my summer! She was so kind to me and my daughter. She made us feel like valued customers at Lifetime. She goes above and beyond to make sure that we are welcome. One night my daughter was so upset that she could not have an ice pop, so she took her time to help us get one. She made her feel so special and prevented her from having a melt down. This type of customer service is unsurpassed. She cares about her customers and we can not thank her enough. The boys at the rock wall are incredible too. Honestly, Vinny and his team Randy, Brendan, Vincent, Derek, Joe, Matt, and Greg care about their climbers. My son William asks to go to the rockwall just to spend time with the boys because they are such great mentors. If you haven’t climbed yet we recommend Syosset be your first place! Steven and Emma work at the pool and makes sure all swimmers are happy. Gianna is William’s swim teacher and should be praised for her ability to teach swimming! Sara at the front desk also always listens and helps us! We can’t thank the staff at Lifetime enough for our incredible 2024 summer experience.

Syosset location has rudest staff. And have no clue to what’s going on. 🤡 The MANAGER here is very Nasty doesn’t care about anyone as well. You could be sitting outside by the pool getting a nice tan. Then all of a sudden they say oh there’s a birthday happening here (With maybe 10 people ) and move you and 30 other people without warning. ⛔️ no signs. Second time in a month this has happened.!!!! Then we walk around like peasants looking for other chairs scattered all over 🤷🏻‍♂️ (that’s after we finally found one in the shade after an hour ) I’m afraid next tim I will be working out there will be a birthday party at the weight rack randomly. They might just throw you out of the workout area or the pool for some random birthday party no one knows about 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Absolutely terrible experience.. being a lifetime member for the past few years and having gone to clubs all around the states this is by far the worst club i’ve been to.. I tried to look past the filthy change rooms, crowded amenities and incredibly unfriendly staff but enough is enough something needs to be said.. ever time i’d come to this club i hoped things would be different but every time it’s the same thing.. the showers, steam room etc are disgusting and i’ve usually been impressed with the staff lifetime has but the staff at this gym has been subpar to say the least. Rude and inattentive. The other day the entire change room spent over 20 minutes just waiting for a towel to dry themselves off. If I could give this gym a 0 stars I would.

I’d rather spend $300 a month on a subscription to the snake oil shop.

Side note - don’t know who the bald headed guy is but he was awful to work with disrespectful and had terrible tonality and customer care.. i’ve had multiple fellow members say the same thing.

I like the facilities. My family has been members since it opened. Some of the complaints I have nothing to do with the staff.
I’m appalled at how inconsiderate fellow members can be; not picking up after themselves and just being plain gross.
The only one real complaint I have is “dress code” at the pool. As a family pool environment, members should be discouraged from wearing overly revealing bathing suits. This is not French Riviera. Decency and modesty is appropriate here.
The children don’t need to be exposed to near nude bathers. PLEASE, address this problem. I’m not the only member that feels this needs to be addressed.
Thank you in advance.

My overall experience with Lifetime has been a pleasant one. Although I have been met with opposition regarding guests policies and billing issues. Certain employees have made my experience well worth a couple of bad apples. The employees that I believe deserve recognition are Amanda, Brett, & Keith. I used to come during the day but there is a huge difference in experience when it comes to the night crew. I considered leaving the gym but coming in and having a team that treats you as one of their own is second to none. Stay away from their pools!

It's well-documented and talked about how people would go from the steam room to the pools to cool off. There are stairs leading into the lap pool, and people would lounge in there after the steam room and jacuzzi--100% health violation. Really want that filth in your mouth while underwater? My swim team discussed it with management, who did nothing. The front desk employees told us it was because the GM was too afraid to put up a poolside notice that it was a health violation and not to do it.

I hope the gym responds here--I am happy to provide several videos of men, one after another, going from the steam room into the pool in a 20-minute period! Nassau health department has it, so hopefully they do something about it.

I had a really bad experience today at their childcare. When I went to pick up my kid they complained about that he had been trying to unplug their snowman. I went to my kid and he told me: I am hurt. He had a bump in his nose near the eye. Nobody called me about that. So I told the director. She told me that my kid shouldn’t have ever been allowed to go into their childcare because he is in the spectrum and that is not a one-to-one facility. I ask her: so my son doesn’t have the right to be here because he has autism? And she told me: well, also because he behaves very bad, so tomorrow I will talk to recommend he doesn’t come again. Great! Today that he is hurt in a class I didn’t sing him up for and with nobody noticing it…he is bad behaved. They didn’t even allow me to write a complain. They gave me the manager card and told me to call the gym during his office hours. And for the records, he is very well behave, or that is what they tell me everywhere he goes and what I see at my house. The person at the front desk complained because he said my voice was starting to be loud when I was complaining….which is true, but after being treated like that…when he told me that I just left with my card with the name of their manager on it.

Also, I have to add. My son is going to PRIVATE swimming lessons, The other day I saw another kid with him in the lesson.I asked the teacher and told me: the other kid instructor is not here and I thought you wouldn’t mind if I put him with your son. It seems his autism condition didn’t cause any trouble for that. They gave me another card. I am still waiting for being able to talk to somebody and this happened before Christmas. But the girl that gives him class is nice so I didn’t insist, I thought: let it go. But If I am going to share my review, let’s share everything.

The steam room in the men’s locker room is FILTHY. More than half of the showers also have less pressure than a leaking garden hose. Don’t even get me started on the shower products. They used to be good however for the past year, they’ve been disgusting. You can see mold and mildew building up in the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash bottles as well as the shower walls. Opened a bottle up recently and saw BLACK CHUNKS of God knows what. Oh and their towels suck. They recently added in like 10 new towels for hundreds of patrons that will actually dry you off but those have gone missing too. REPLACE ALL YOUR CURRENT TOWELS. THEY ARE FLIMSY AND DISGUSTING FOR A SELF PROCLAIMED “LUXURY” FACILITY.

Place has gone downhill. Been going here for years and only because they grandfathered me in (but they’re slowly doing away with that too). Don’t get attached to any gym equipment because it’ll disappear within weeks, never to be seen again. Grips, weights, and machines will vanish and either never be replaced or replaced with very low quality cheap ones. You also pay over $220/month here and the shower towels are thinner than a sheet of rice paper. You end up more wet after wiping down with one of them than when you were showering. Place is also filthy all the time everywhere. Locker rooms, shower, gym floor, pool area, steam rooms. Thin towels just mentioned also always have streak marks on them and clientele just throw them on the floor and don’t clean up after themselves. Take your money elsewhere. Me and my friends and family are all planning on leaving soon.

If I could give zero stars to the general manager, Edwin, I would be thrilled. He has no people skills, condescending and does not evoke kindness. He needs to learn how to be a person. If I didn't use the pool on a daily basis I would terminate my membership. here's the issue I was kicked out of an empty studio as I was standing in the corner doing bicep curls bc the cleaner was wiping the mirror at the far end of the studio. she told me I am not allowed in either studio (empty) between one and 4 o'clock. Neither studio is to be used by anybody due to cleaning. I never heard that rule before. In fact, there was never a sign visible, and people have been in and out of the empty studios throughout the day. I have been a member here 13 years and never saw evidence of this rule. so upon addressing this concern with the general manager, Edwin,, his level of empathy was zero and to quote him...." Have you been happy overall with other things here?" my reply was"not really", and he said "then what are you still doing here!" Talk about a slap in the face. Who talks to a paying member for 13 years in that manner... the answer is Edwin! I pay over $200 a month to be spoken to by a smug, condescending young man. I then approached two lovely trainers, named Kaylar, and Bryan who work on the second floor. They never heard of this rule about the studios being closed between one and 4 o'clock on a daily basis. They were so kind and listened with an open heart and open mind. they should be commended for their professionalism. My recommendation is if you have a concern find Kaylar and Bryan and steer clear of this Edwin character... he is useless.

Life Time is not a gym - it’s a lifestyle. A country club. A spa. I come here to socialize, to do light workouts on treadmills (which connect to Apple Watch workout using NFC), to spend 15 minutes in the sauna doing some thinking, a nice shower and shave. Of course you can work out as hard as you like - there are daunting classes that would satisfy the cravings of ardent fitness enthusiasts. I prefer leaving the hard workouts to purely class based gyms in the neighborhood and use Life Time as my recharge regimen.

Wish I could give it zero stars. Use to be a decent fair place when they were publicly owned. Now they went private and are a very greedy company out for every last buck. The facilities are very nice but here are some issues.

- BEWARE of overcharges. Every time you deactivate a member that goes to camp or pause a membership, when you reactivate they charge you a new rate. Worst part is they don’t mention it to you.

- Kids that have been members for years, when they go to college they use to offer a special college rate to use the facilities during breaks. Not anymore, they did away with that.

- They did away with the $2 waters you could buy in plastic bottles. In place of it you can buy their metal bottle waters for $5 each. Or drink their filtered water from the fountain (which usually has a silver light on needing to be changed.)

- I paused a membership which requires 30 days notice (which I provided) and was still charged for everyone. I had to go in person to resolve it.

- they don’t provide any covers for toilet seats. Unsanitary in a post Covid world. Even gyms at $20 per month offer this.

Do yourself a favor. Planet fitness for $10 a month is a better investment. Until members start canceling management will just keep raising their prices and treat members awfully.

If you are joining here for pickleball don't waste your time. The guy running it is ruining it. Most people are 3.0 to 3.9. Yet every open play he has a beginner court and a advanced court. Only one 3.0 to 3.9 court. So hard to get a reservation. He also runs leagues you pay extra for in the morning which should be open play to make $ for him and Lifetime. And if you are thinking going to Garden City is the answer forget that. Many Syosset peep now going there and reservations there are getting harder and harder. Are they trying to win the Jim Crow award for most racist gym on Long Island? To the owners, get it together and hire employees with a baseline level of human decency. And if you’re hiring racist employees, then learn how to TRAIN them to act polite. You’re charging a small fortune for membership. You need to do better.

As a founding member (been there from its inception), Lifetime Fitness in Syosset is my home away from home. The place is pristine, and the staff is exceptional (special shout out to Megan Grady and Amanda Taveras-do an unbelievable job at the front). I consider Lifetime to be my private country club. I recommend this place to everyone!!!

Best gym period. Once you go to lifetime fitness, every other gym is obsolete….

Hate the manager here. He is always such a rude hypercritical person with gym rules. Other than him I have a pleasant time with the gym

The best gym. Love the classes. The spa, cafe and salon are cool to have. Wish they’d stop raising prices. Staff is friendly. Pools are clean, fresh towels. Great there’s many lifeguards, it’s safe for the pool guests.

Yes it’s expensive. But honestly, it’s not that much more expensive than a boutique gym which they have all types of classes + pickleball + indoor lap pool + outdoor lap pool. I used to bounce between gyms and now I’ve been here for 7+ years.

Visited the spa a few months ago, was seen by a woman named Cate or Kate... the room was dirty, she was not particularly knowledgeable and the facial was sub-par. For such an upscale establishment, I am surprised they would have a person like that on staff.

My dad doesn’t speak English. One day my dad brought my son to the gym. The front desk girl give him a bad attitude because they need a waiver form from parent. However, before that, I asked front desk boy myself if my dad can bring my son to the gym once a while, he didn’t mention any wavier form and just tell me my son can come every 60days. When I filled out the form online and call them back, there is a man pick up the phone with a rude and nasty attitude. And he didn’t wait me finish my word, hang out the phone right away. The staff are not professional at all. My dad felt discriminated because he doesn’t speak English. This gym is not friendly to someone who doesn’t speak English or first language is not English ! We will not back anymore!

Worth every penny, i use everything from workout classes, yoga, the gym has every machine you can think of, pools, sauna, steam room…. And you usually don’t have to wait for a machine or a bench.

Unbelievable that the Lifetime has been unable to resolve the issue of hot water supply in the shower room during peak hours for over a month. I don't even go to gym often, and I have already experienced two instances where I had to wait for more than 20 minutes to get hot water. Absurd.

I came in the other day with a friend of mine and didn't feel welcome by the front desk staff at all. There was a women named Hannah, who i felt was giving me attitude and side eye for coming to the gym, and as a bigger guy this attitude is not welcoming and what i look for in a gym. Won't be coming back ever again!

I was coming in as a guest with a friend and was “greeted” by an employee (Hannah I believe) who was extremely rude and condescending. You would think with all the money these members pay, their guests would be treated with gold level service. The gym itself is stunning but if you wanna pay a lot of money and be treated well, you should try another location. I’ve seen nicer people and better service at Planet Fitness. Maybe it was the fact that I’m an older guy (43) that they were steering me towards not joining as Hannah became more rude after she looked at my ID.

Overall, I enjoy coming to Lifetime...but I'm writing this review to rave about Sean who works at Front Desk/Sales. I re-joined after speaking to him on the phone and he was even nicer in person. His Customer Service is outstanding...the Best they've ever had in the 11 years I have been a member on and off. He genuinely makes you feel welcome the second you step into Lifetime Syosset. My kids even feel the same. I will continue as a member there as long as Sean is still there!

Great gym, staff is very nice. The only thing I’d love would be a ladies hot tub in the locker room and a safer door entering the Locker room from the pool area, like the one in garden city. Potentially dangerous door the way it is now. The indoor heated pool could be a little warmer too, especially in the winter months. But overall a great place to stay healthy! Love this place!
