I first came to Lisa to get ready for my wedding, and she helped me feel like the absolute best version of myself for that day. Since then, she's helped me completely transform my body and my relationship to it. Thanks to Lisa, I'm also now entirely pain free! I used to have near constant pain in my knee and lower back, and it's gone. Every session with Lisa makes me feel stronger, centered, and energized. I have been working with Lisa for 1 1/2 years. We started during the pandemic and we have managed to have sessions regularly in person and virtually. I was taught by excellent practitioners but Lisa has raised my pilates practice to a much more refined and advanced level. Lisa has high standards and she works with me to improve my practice. We have managed through various injuries and her patience and creativity have been critical to my recovery and self awareness. I always feel better when I leave than when I start.
I recommend Lisa without hesitation.

I have been working with Lisa in her beautiful studio for many years. When the pandemic hit and Lisa offered me virtual sessions I was sure they would not work for me. Boy-oh-wow was I wrong! I have now been doing virtual sessions for almost two years and I am stronger than ever! This summer I started horseback riding again after many years away and Lisa framed my workouts around the strengths I needed to build to be a better rider. And, she showed me how to use my Pilates training while I was riding. I am stronger and fitter than I have ever been—and a better rider than I ever imagined I could be. Lisa is so knowledgeable, so astute and so flexible in her teaching. She’s firm and precise, but she is also understanding and sensitive. I honestly can’t imagine my life without her.

I've been working with Lisa Jones for many years and a few years ago my travel schedule ramped up so I took her suggestion to try FaceTime for mat sessions while on the road. I had no idea how easy it would be (connectivity was rarely an issue) and how much she could see from my phone camera's transmission! Work with her in person if you can, but think seriously about FT if you are traveling or can't make it into the studio, you'll love it!!!

As a dancer, I went to Lisa for help with Patellar Tracking issues and she gave me so much insight and very precise and comprehensive instruction on how to reeducate my way of moving on my legs. She really cares about the way you are moving and I was able to get through the entire 6 week Martha Graham intensive with all my knee pain disappearing by the time I was finished! Plus I did the entire class the last day with little jumps! I was very impressed by her careful feedback with alignment and transition! She has fine observation skills and highly recommend her work to anyone who is a lover of movement and dance! I really wish I lived in NY so I could continue to be coached by her! so if you live in NY city, please take advantage of this master teacher!

I've been going to Lisa for nearly four years - initially to get in shape for my wedding...then through my pregnancy (she's incredibly knowledgable and has a lot of experience working with pregnant clients),...and now she's training me post partum. If you want someone classically trained in pilates who will really help you work through your troubled spots she's the best! Her attention to detail and focus benefits her students of all levels. I love that she helps me understand how to work my muscles correctly and never rushes me through the exercises so I know I'm really getting a lot out of each session. Also, she guides me through the class with helpful visualizations, and if I need help with an exercise she doesn't hesitate to demonstrate. Her technique is amazing and she's a great model for students to observe. Even if you don't have a specific "issue" you're trying to fix, pilates with Lisa can be great for your body in general. I love that I can apply what I learn in her class to other types of workouts and everyday movements. Also her studio is fantastic! It's peaceful, spacious, bright, sunny, and beautifully maintained - plus, it's conveniently located right off of Union Square! Be prepared to work hard when you arrive!

. I have been going to Lisa Jones Pilates for several years now. Lisa is an attentive, professional, and extremely knowledgeable pilates coach. I have worked out in many capacities, and with many trainers, over the last decade and have seen the most dramatic change in my body since working with her. I am about to have a baby and continued to see Lisa throughout my entire pregnancy. She took my safety and capabilities very seriously and I always knew I was getting an effective workout, while also feeling secure.
