Gym has gone downhill ever since Matchpoint took over.
I’ve been going here for years out of convenience,
There are several dumbbells broken and have been for years, the 90, most recently 100 and 120 lb dumbbells are all missing one in a pair.
The treadmills are extremely uneven and don’t run properly.
floor-mats are old, sticking up and uneven.
These have been ongoing problems for YEARS and have not been acknowledged by staff and management.
EXTREMELY disappointing, unprofessional ownership & management, they still have the nerve to charge a “maintenance” fee, what a joke.

The young girl in the front desk is what’s wrong with society today. Zero social skills and communication. This is what being on Facebook and other social media sites do to people. I cancelled my membership and they keep charging my card! They even charged my card twice in one month. When you can to speak to a manager he's never available. DO NOT CHOOSE AUTOPAY! Once they have your card your doomed!!! They steal your money!

Was working out in harbor fitness and hated it a lot so one day decided to quit and accidentally found match point. Love it! They have all equipment you need. No instagram divas who just occupy machines to take selfies or to sit in the phone. I love that in this gym people really come to workout. Also no personal trainers who jump on you to offer their service. Cleaning guy is always busy and doing something all the time. Parking is always available. Only a few things I would love to improve. Quite crowded 4-7pm. No strict rule for racking out weight after using equipment. Also a lot of filthy people who don’t clean equipment after using. This is disguising. Boxes with sanitizer tissues on every step. So yes. I wish management forced somehow people to use a common sense in this two things.

It is hard to deal with front desk people because they need more communication skills and are poorly trained in their job duties. They are always charging for those classes ( pvt) that have been canceled. It should be better coordinated between coaches and the front desk about the payment. I do not want to contact these people anymore; they are rude.

I have been playing tennis at Match Point for many years. Overall it has been a good experience. However this Monday 12 woman who have 3 Seasonal courts showed up from all over the city to play their reserved tennis from 11-1PM. They were told that the courts were not available due to tennis camp. When asked why they were not notified the reply was "Not our problem". (NOT EVEN AN APOLOGY?) I want to know who would be responsible to inform at least one person on the team of this sudden change. At the very least some notice should have been given to our groups.

Good gym but used to be better. , clean facility but since COVID their hours are too short. Weekdays should close at 11pm but they close at 10pm. Saturdays and sundays are a joke closing at 7pm. Should be 9pm saturday and 8pm sunday. Some machinery in the gym specifically treadmills havent been fixed for months, belts are worn out.

Worst gym. And worst possible experience. I am ready to report this place to the authorities. The staff is Mickey Mouse and friends! There are so many gym goers who are violating the rules by not wearing their mask properly. No one tells them what they are doing is incorrect and there’s a security guard there that might as well be a statue. It’s very frustrating to see what unfolds in this place. Also, hardly any of the members rack their weights. What’s worse is that this place is so overcrowded that it makes Grand Central Station during rush hour look empty. I really regret signing up to this gym; it’s an epic disaster!

What botherd me was I paid for a year and then Hurricanne Sandy hit and the place was closed down and when they reopened they didnt compansate for the lost time which was about 9 months, they said they gave everyone three months but they gave me nothing, they said I waited too long and they never sent me anything in the mail stating they were opened again so how was I supposed to know, I thought they closed down for good.
There was one young women that worked there that was go nasty and made me feel uncompfortable.
The equipment was fine.

Harbor Fitness is better than this gym in every way shape and form. The only thing i love about this gym is the gorgeous view while doing cardio. The staff (read: spanish lady in the front) need to be replaced.

This review is for the gym only: I was a long time member here. I worked out by myself never bothering anyone when one day I receive a call from them saying they will not be renewing my membership, when I asked why the gentleman on the phone couldn't give me a good reason or a straight answer. He said my conduct was inappropriate for the gym, but no one said a thing to me prior. There was no warning, no notice. I kept asking give me a good reason. What was it that I did , but I could not get a straight answer. The gentleman kept repeating himself that they were not going to renew my membership. I'm very upset with this place. It seems like they have a hidden agenda.

This place doesn't have enough classes. Just redone from Flood Sandy.
Staff is ok.
Owner rather watch TV than talk to potential new clients.
Told me he would sooner add a TV with classes for people to do Zumba with than get an instructor. So why do I need to pay him close to $400?
Tennis is a big plus here.Other wise don't bother.
