Mora yoga is offering a type of yoga so deeply needed in the local community and beyond! The team here is leading the way in the trauma informed / somatic movement space. I cannot recommend it enough! Every single teacher will not only make you feel supported during class but will connect with you individually so you immediately feel a part of the community. I feel so lucky to be the herbalist that supplies the herbal tea served after class!!

What a welcoming space! Classes are priced on a sliding scale model and the trauma informed approach to teaching makes this a safe space to learn, grow and heal.

Hands down one of the best yoga studios I’ve been to! They have amazing trauma informed classes that have let me release emotions I didn’t even realize were still there. Anthea and Jackie are the best!!

Mōra Yoga—new studio offering mindful, soothing and invigorating yoga lead by creative, passionate people leaning into emotional and mental health and healing.

Anthea and Jackie led a beautiful class together this morning: i came in mostly nerves and left half-nerves, half the ability to be anything but that miserable. And that type of change is a Night and Day one.

Jackie’s cheerful energy and Anthea’s serenity and focus on personal intentions made for a wonderful combo.

I recommend for all skill levels!

Come check it out-especially as the classes have yet to grow super large, because what you request will be taken into account.

Skillful teachers. Spiritual air to the joint. A blanketed journal corner if you’re feelin’ like writing, or drawing on textured paper with colored pencils.

You’ll see me practicing here again and again.

Most healing space I have ever found in NYC. The vibes inside are instantly welcoming, all the teachers are incredibly kind and supportive and warm and will make you feel right at home. The cozy corner offers snacks, tea and books where you can continue to unwind after class and create more community by having a space to talk and hang out. So far feels like the vibe of people who come here tend to be as warm and welcoming as the teachers so it really is lovely to hang out. The classes have been very oriented toward meeting my body where it is today, rather than pushing myself to the limit. It is a very gentle and safe energy that has been helping me tune into and trust myself. I also really appreciate that they have YES/NO cards to consent for hands on corrections that you can change any time which makes me feel empowered to decide for myself throughout class if I want to be touched or not. Also, the lavender filled stars they give for relaxing breathing exercises are precious. Can't recommend this place enough ❤️🌟🌹

Truly a yoga experience like no other!! I felt so safe, held, and supported. They offer delicious treats and little comforts I’ve never seen anywhere else. Consent card and wellness cards. And the teachers are so empathetic and world class. Can’t wait to go back! ⭐️💫
