I really like this gym. Even though itβs smaller than other climbing gyms, their grades are a bit harder, which is nice. The staff is mostly young and friendly. It gets packed after 3pm on week days when the kids get out of school. The auto-belays are limited. Not much there in case you donβt have a belay partner. They have a board on which you can find a belay partner. Overall, great vibes and grateful to not be driving into the city for climbing. β€οΈ

I went here years ago as a guest for an event. This is well-equipped, safety-conscious, accommodating-to-all rock climbing gym. There are cliff faces for people of all experience levels. I have a contorted foot and generally not the best athletic ability, and I still found a suitable wall to scale.

Awesome route setting, community and staff.
Stopped here to wait out some traffic while passing through the area. Do not let the size of the gym fool you the route setting is top notch and the community was super friendly.
Would stop back here in a heartbeat.

Very beginner friendly and welcoming gym. Special shout out to Harry who taught our Intro to Ropes class. Very engaged in helping us and was patient with all of our questions. However, the staff in general have been great and are just flat out pleasant to be around. There are plenty of newcomer friendly routes. Even with zero experience I feel like I have a variety of options. The space is also very clean and well-maintained. Really enjoy coming here and it has been a great environment to explore a new hobby in. 10/10.

We recently went for a birthday party. The staff was very helpful in suiting up my son so he could rock climb. The waiver was unobtrusive - a handy QR code did the trick. All the other climbers were patient and indulgent with our group of newbies. I would definitely return to explore further... either with or without my kiddo!

Great place to climb. Friendly staff. Setting is great. I always forget how much I like the setting until I visit again and I am like ohhh I have missed this. Feels like a small community here. Where everyone knows each other. It's very nice. The gym is older but they keep it updated . The mats cover the whole gym, which makes you feel real nice and safe. Also have yoga, children team events, learn to climb, and workout equipment. Tends to be a lot of kids during teams during the week. If your not a fan of that you should definitely avoid those hours.

Great climbing gym in upper Westchester. Really cool layout and great customer service. Since the buyout theyve managed to retain most of their "small" gym charm. Plus last time I was there some guy called Wilm Kreemer did 200 push ups in a row and also a front flip.

Great gym! Have only done rock climbing and bouldering. Clean facility, friendly and accommodation staff. Have 4 auto belay walls and bouldering if you don't have a certified belay.

Such a welcoming experience here at Movement Valhalla. Had the pleasure of meeting Nick, the managerβwhat a guy! Clearly not afraid to get his hands dirty to keep the gym spotless for the community. Could tell he takes pride in his work and holds the gym to a high standard.
You donβt see this kind of dedication every day. Whether itβs handling the front desk, keeping the floors pristine, or ensuring everyone follows the rules, Nick does it all with passion. A true asset to the gym!

A fantastic, long-standing climbing facility that's served the lower Hudson Valley for 15+ years.
You won't find a sauna or a coffee bar here- instead you'll find passionate and knowledgeable staff, a welcoming and uplifting community, high quality instruction and programming, and routesetting that is memorable, varied, and very fun.
The smaller facility lends itself to an engaged & welcoming community. People know each other and help each other even if they're strangers. People cheer each other on. The vibe from the staff also help carry this kind of atmosphere throughout the facility. It's not something you will easily find in other gyms in NYC/CT.
Seriously, the staff here is exceptional. They bring a remarkable amount of diverse backgrounds and climbing experience, which is evident in their enthusiasm and guidance. Even if you're a newbie or a pro-climber, the staff's attitude and willingness to help others really nail down the supportive and encouraging environment at Valhalla.
This place is a shining example of what a climbing gym can be when it prioritizes both exceptional climbing and a strong sense of community.
Thank you, Movement Valhalla!

This place is a true diamond in the rough, standing out with its unique charm amidst the flashier, newer gyms. What it lacks in paint, it makes up for with authentic character that money simply can't buy.
The space is thoughtfully designed to cater to climbers of all levels and all types. You can be disabled and still have the support to make it up those walls. As it gets harder to find spots that brings communities together I think Valhalla shows what makes a climbing gym truly great.

Iβve got a movement membership and am visiting family and so decided to visit the gym. Even though I pay for a membership and they know it includes free rentals, they still charged for shoes which was very frustrating.

Came here because it is listed as a movement gym and thought that included everything you expect from a membership. No, if you have a movement membership you still have to pay for rental shoes (we were visiting from out of town and didnβt expect to have time to hit up a gym). Worst experience from a βmovementβ gym so far.

I've visited climbing gyms on three different continents and in over ten states, and I can easily say that Movement Valhalla has some of the most creative and fun boulders I've ever climbed. The community is fantastic, but what really sets this gym apart are the exceptional route setters. Their creativity and skill make every climb an enjoyable challenge

Been coming to this location for 3 months now and I have been a fan since. I do some bouldering and after learning how to use their automated belaying wall, Iβve also begun rock climbing which has been lovely so lovely. They have a second floor with a few routes to take on as well. Itβs a fantastic place, no doubt about it!

I was a member here for years. It used to be such a great vibe. I was dismayed to recently return and discover that they allow men to use the women's bathroom/changing area. I did NOT feel safe using the bathroom. There needs to be a space that is women-only.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to climb as there was a competition event going on. There was no mention on their website that I saw, it's on their Instagram however, so would check if you're from out of town. The staff was nice, the entrance was clean and there was some parking spaces even with the comp going on. Price is reasonable which is the main factor why I want to climb here.

Every gym has its own personality and this is one of my very favorites of all time. Totally unpretentious with lots of super incredible climbers. Iβve been a member here for many years and it has always been a really chill but challenging place to climb. Route grading is pretty steep but it pays off. The setting is good and accessible to climbers at all levels. The space isnβt enormous but they fit a ton of routes in with room for a little fitness area, too. The staff is friendly, helpful, welcoming, and they climb on their breaks and after work. What more could you ask for in a gym?

Took my 6 year old today as school was unexpectedly canceled. Alan introduced us and even helped coach my daughter. There were three lines where you don't need someone to help which was more enough for us. My daughter has climbed before at lifetime fitness. This was more challenging for her but she did great. Alan even showed her how to boulder (safely) and gave her challenge routes which she loved. I'd recommend this facility for sure. Thanks for a great day today!

Everyone who works at The Cliffs was incredibly helpful, friendly, and supportive. I was really impressed with the way the staff belayers interacted with all the kids (and adults!). For the NY area I'm sure their prices are comparable and we spent a great 3 hours there. We were all beginners and had plenty to do even without being skilled enough to approach 2/3 (or more) of the climbing areas. As an added bonus we forgot 2 of our coats there and the staff generously mailed them back to us (since we're not at all local). A really terrific place with a welcoming atmosphere.

First thought when walking in was, this canβt be all of it. Tiny. Short routes. Kids running around recklessly. Required to put a unstable mat under you while bouldering π (which increases your chance of injury btw). Boulder routes are not marked with ranking and you are required to go check a photo of routes to figure out what to climb-annoying. More of a kids or very casual climber gym. Not for those who want to get stronger or develop better technique. But I suppose itβs better than nothing for the area.
