Carrie offers one of the best yoga classes in Buffalo! These classes focus on dynamic movements that integrate the body's natural functioning patterns into floor and chair based practice. I love that she uses a variety of props, anatomical language and uses mindful awareness based directional cues. Carrie's classes make me feel like the paper around a candy being unwrapped and smoothed flat.

New Moon Mindful Movement is the total package for those looking to not only engage in yoga classes but strength training as well. Carrie focuses on her clients individual needs when it comes to strength training, she is very knowledgeable and consults with you as you work together to work towards your best self.

The yoga classes offered are a delight, between Carrie and Leigh, there's something for everyone to come calm their minds and hit the reset button. The space is inviting and you feel very comfortable moving at your own pace. If you're looking for a studio where you can practice at your pace, feel confident and smile the whole time then look no further.

Carrie's begun a new focus - the pelvic floor. Fascinating - and I'm learning I've been undoing some of the good by resorting to old practices. This is such important learning for my aging body.

I’m relatively new to Carrie’s Yoga Detour class but it’s one of my favorites! The class isn’t like anything else I attend. I feel like it gets into all the nooks and crannies and is different every week. I’d highly recommend checking this one out.

I have been recommending Carrie’s Yoga Detour classes to all my friends. As a recently retired 70-something I have a lifelong history of movement: tennis, skiing, ballet, weight training/gym memberships, Pilates, Feldenkrais, yoga, even physical therapy. When I first began Yoga Detour my body reawakened. It felt a bit like a nostalgia tour as previous training echoed in my movement awareness. The required physical exertion is minimal, but this practice has a huge impact on my agility and wellbeing. I marvel how even hand achiness has disappeared! Maru G.

Peaceful, fun classes that use props. Carrie is an expert at what she does. It’s so refreshing to find a yoga studio that isn’t just rushing through the motions, but rather she takes time to explain technique, muscles and joints. As an injury prone person, I really appreciate the careful attention to detail and tailored modifications. Going to class kept my inflammation at bay. Can’t recommend enough!

Carrie is a wonderful teacher. She has a lovely presence and a deep comprehension of her craft. I find her practice approachable yet challenging. She uses unique functional movements to improve range of motion and to build a healthy mind-body relationship. As a student, I find Carrie's flow methodical and satisfying. And as a yoga instructor, I learn so much from her depth of experience and knowledge. Carrie's yoga detour classes improve my physical practices so much. I am deeply grateful to have found Carrie, and I would reccomend her to anyone looking for a challenging and grounded practice.
