I came here to look good for my wedding but got so much more out of it. I suffer from chronic neck and back pain and since working with guy, my pain levels have decreased by 90 percent. My posture is so much better and I see overall improvement in my health. I look forward to Saturday mornings because I know I’ll be working muscles I personally don’t know how to get to on my own at home and come out of it stronger. I highly recommend this studio if you’re looking from lasting results.

I started seeing Mike Hood at NYPT several years ago after recovering from surgery on my lower back. I wanted to start lifting again but I needed to be careful to not hurt myself after the surgery. Mike helped find the perfect balance between a safe and low impact routine that still led to noticeable results in strength and physique. Also, the space and the people at NYPT are so welcoming and kind I look forward to going there weekly for my training sessions. I’d recommend Mike Hood and NYPT to anyone looking to level up their fitness routine!

Very professional, very knowledgeable. I had problem with my hip after two pregnancies and Guy was very helpful to help stabilize my hip and my back pain has decreased a lot. Also he is very good with postpartum women who have diastasis.

I’ve been bringing my mom and my dad here for the past couple months and they have seen tremendous results. They are in the late 60s and Guy the head trainer has really helped him with pain, improving mobility, and strength. They are now running, hiking, and playing sports. Living a healthier lifestyle!

A few years ago I had some serious back/hamstring issues from playing contact sports in college and poor training technique. I worked with Steve through a progressive training program to help get me back to shape. He knew exactly what to do to strengthen the right muscles and get my flexibility back. Now I golf and run with no pain! I still meet with Steve to focus on areas of growth. Now I'm even better than I was before and recently completed the NYC marathon! I couldnt have done that without Steve and highly recommend to anybody bc he knows his stuff. Thanks Steve!

I started training with Steve after I was diagnosed with a herniated disc but didn't want to stop working out. Each week Steve prepared specific exercises for me to do with the goal of alleviating the lower back pain I was in while also building up key supporting muscles and achieving a comprehensive work-out. He knew just how much to push each work-out to see results - and they were amazing! He was a huge help in getting me back and running/working-out to the level I was before my back issue.

I started working out with Guy Codio 10 years ago and I can’t say enough wonderful things about him! Not only did I get an incredible workout everyday with Guy, I achieved many personal goals along the way and made a friend for life! Guy is truly one-of-a-kind. From his highly personalize programming (we focused on boxing throughout the years), to his genuine care and enthusiasm, Guy delivers results and make sure you are having fun along the way. One of the hardest things about leaving NYC 3 years ago was leaving Guy! However, we have stayed in touch and we workout together whenever I am in the City. I was also honored to have him attend my wedding in North Carolina - as it turns out, he’s a hit at the gym AND on the dance floor! Guy changed my life and I would recommend him to anyone searching for a way to get results in the gym (and beyond)!

I have been working out with Guy Codio for the last 10 years. As a 54 year old, I am in the best shape of my life. Our training sessions are fast paced and fun and consistently focus on my current fitness goals. After years of bouncing between flighty trainers who didn’t plan or follow-through, my husband and I started seeing Giacomo last year, and were (and still are) so impressed by his expertise, focus and dedication to our individual goals and results. I started training with Giacomo a few years ago and recently started training with him again. If you listen to him you will see results. He pushes you when you need it. If you have an injury he knows how to work around it so you still get a good work out. He has a lot of flexibility in his schedule. Always professional and will check in with you to make sure you are ready for your upcoming session. Giacomo is one of those trainers that will give you 100% of his attention. He is never on the phone texting when you are with him. His focus is you. He keeps great track of all your progress that you made since starting with him. I have never trained with Guy or Reggie but have met them. I can tell they are just as amazing as Giacomo and you wont regret training with them.

I literally just created this Yelp account so I could give a major shout-out to New York Personal Training, their staff, and it's members. I lost an expensive pair of brand new sunglasses and either a staffmember or gym-goer found them and turned them into the front desk. Front desk held them for a week until I asked if anyone had turned in some sunglasses. Thanks to the honest bunch of folks there, you guys rock.

I have been working out with Rui, the new owner of NYPT, for a while now and I have gained so much knowledge about fitness and how my body works, in addition to getting into probably the best shape I’ve ever been in. I worked out with Rui throughout my entire pregnancy and was able to recover from pregnancy and birth without much difficulty—something I attribute to the work we did in the gym. As for the gym itself, the staff is friendly and very good at what they do. I know they receive regular trainings by Rui to stay current on the types of workouts they do with their clients. Also, the gym is clean and well equipped. There are filtered water coolers too, which is a small detail, but I appreciate things like that. I would highly recommend working out with a trainer here over going to a regular comercial gym and getting signed up to a random trainer who is just going to try and sell you packages of sessions. This is the kind of place you go to if you really want to get a tailored experience, get in shape, and learn about how to stay in shape.

I've been working 1-on-1 with Giacomo at NYPT for about 4 months now and it has been a tremendous, positive experience.
After having back surgery two years ago I was desperately in need of a fitness plan and positive motivation to get my body healthy. Working with Giacomo (and Jamie occasionally) has already given me more energy and strength than I've had in many, many years. He knows how to push me past my comfort zone while maintaining an awareness of my weak points, and provides great coaching on nutrition and healthy habits. He is always available via text or email for questions and is flexible with my schedule since I frequently travel.
Spend a month here with Giacomo; follow his guidance and give it 100%...you'll be a whole new person.

I decided to invest in a personal trainer after not seeing the results I had sought after for years through other fitness regimens. One month with Sulaiman and I am thoroughly satisfied with my progress to date. Beyond aesthetic results such as removing stubborn fat, my stress levels in both my personal and professional lives have decreased. In addition, my performance in traditional karate, which I have been practicing for years, has significantly improved. This has been one of the best investments I have made in my life. One of the first things I was told when I started my training was that we all have a six pack, its just hidden under layers. I also learned its not about training hard as much as it is about muscle activation. Did I mention diet? Such a big part of the equation.
After being part of the "Gym Mills" all over the city, I decided I needed more than just time, I needed discipline, coaching and motivation. I received all of this as well as an education on body mechanics and nutrition all in a very clean and exceptionally well run studio.
Most importantly through Mike's coaching, I realized how much effort I wasn't giving myself at other facilities and always left my sessions at NYPT with a high dose of good pain that has paid off in so many ways: The way my clothes fit, I feel great, I wake up energized, stress free, positive attitude. Suddenly everything in life seems to come together all for a little time a lot of sweat and great training.
I have to be honest, my first few sessions they beat the hell out of me. Trust me it was well deserved and the results show. In my opinion that pain defines effective training and it was something that I was not receiving from any other program.
The experienced staff at NYPT are there for you and will not pressure you like other places. A great staff, I will never walk into a Gym,Inc. again.
Your goals are about what you want, NYPT does recognize this and that is what makes people stay there. Results that make you keep coming back.
