I went in three months before my membership ended expecting to sign paperwork to cancel. They told me I didn’t need to do anything and the membership wouldn’t auto-renew. Not True, still getting charged and had to call back to cancel. Very sketchy.
Update: They ended up refunding me.

It’s one of the most depressing gyms I’ve ever been to in my life!
When you entered you could smell the strong chlorine from the swimming pool located at the underground level. The main gym area was not spacious and dark, and it smelled unpleasantly. The sauna and steam room were fine but the shower area was dirty and some showers broke down.

i like NY HRC a lot. this is not my favorite location, but it's the most convenient to my office. for that, i like them. i also like that you can go to all of their gyms with your memberships, to unlimited classes, they are affordable, normal looking people go to the gym there, and everyone who works there is extraordinarily nice at 6am. for NYC, at least.
