I would love to give 5 stars but I will be lying. This place needs to get rid of the co-ed steam room in all the YMCA How can you feel comfortable when lustful energy is comfortably looking at you? This place had surprised me. Our bodies are supposed to be our temple. These rooms are awkward and very uncomfortable. You need to do something about this issue I don't think I am the only one who feels disgusted by this.

The facility itself is great, and I would love to give it a great review, but the staff/admin here are incredibly frustrating. Mostly older women, they run this place like it's the gym at their assisted living facility, not a family friendly alternative for sitting in front of a television. Additionally, be aware that although your membership comes with access to the pool you will frequently be asked to leave on weekends or weeknights because of swim lessons (even if there is no one in the pool). This place could probably be managed with 20% less staff, less totalitarian rules and be much more enjoyable for all.

Love having your EGYM weight training there and also the inside track due to so many inclement weather days. Very clean and the air is at a nice temperature to work out. My husband and I are very happy with the facility.

The best place for the whole family! The lazy river and therapy pool is great for the kids. The classes are great. There is always something to do for the kids. The prime daycare is amazing, kids are well taken care of and they love going to daycare while we parents get a work out in. The track is great for when you can't run outside. There is something for everyone here. The staff, especially Lee is absolutely amazing and dedicated. We love our Bville Y!!!! The Green Family

I normally refrain from writing negative reviews but this is my last straw. They closed for the entire night tonight because their power went out. I work at National Grid and the YMCAβs power went back up within an hour and a half. They were just too lazy to come into work so they close the YMCA for the ENTIRE night. For being a non-profit organization they are the most money hungry business you will ever see. Minimum 50 bucks a month to go to a gym that is packed to the brim every weekday no matter what time you go. They used to turn the a/c on full blast and now they must be trying to save money by not turning it on. Itβs a sweat fest and especially worse during peak times when there is an egregious amount of people there. There quality of care towards their customers has gone down significantly and new management is needed to bring back what it used to be.

I have lowered my review from my first after coming here to the gym for awhile now. Many stay on equipment for at least 45 minutes while texting and talking on phones. These are not just teens btw .. The equipment is down a lot and takes weeks to fix. The equipment is limited but what they have is good. Theyβre pushing circuit training but itβs not for me and they should have added to the gym and moved circuit training equipment elsewhere. Those lines are very long all the time if youβre interested in that. I do however love that itβs clean and thereβs a pool and Sauna ( I use the Sauna ) It is a place I will stay but Iβm adding another gym if itβs crowded here.

While the facility is nice, it is way way overcrowded, with the Y accepting new memberships each day to the detriment of the current members. Paying over $50 a month to have to wait in lines for machines because you didn't show up "off peak" is ridiculous. Unless you are taking advantage of the programs outside of using gym equipment, the Y is largely overpriced.

For the monthly price we pay we should be able to have access to the pool and not just reserve for swimming lessons I want to give it better reviews. But the changing rooms in hallway of pool smell of stinky cooter. These need to be cleaned and disinfected more and thoroughly

Baldwinsville,NY YMCA-Front desk staff are very rude especially to youth. Not sure if itβs a race thing or they are just miserable people.. Just a terrible impression and experience for a brand that claims itβs for the youth and the community itβs so far from that! I would never ever donate to a place that treats our kids this way, they are nasty and very disrespectful and itβs not right! This is not the 1st time and Iβm sure itβs not the last of their disgusting behavior!

Overall love this place, I feel like I should be using more of the amenities for what I pay but that's not their problem. More recently though the gym floor is overrun with tweens that are only there to socialize and not actually workout...they congregate in groups surrounding several pieces of equipment at a time and this happens frequently between 6-8pm. The staff that is supposed to monitor the gym does absolutely nothing about anything.. I often see very young kids running around in there as well. Last night there were multiple issues.. the groups of kids hanging out, and then a Dad working out with 2 very young kids sitting on the machines next to him hanging out. Someone needs to monitor this and correct it when these things happen. The gym is not big enough to handle the overflow of members who are there just to hang out! There are many other areas that they can do so where they would not be in the way. I went to address this with the front desk and several nights this week when I leave there is only one person on the desk and they're always busy.. If they have to constantly stop our conversation to check people in then I am not getting their full attention and I'm sure nothing will be done. I would really like to speak with someone of authority who may be able to assist me with this and other issues I have with the facility. Thank you!

It is a great, modern and updated facility however, what makes is truly wonderful is it's staff! Always friendly and helpful. Carol (at the desk in the early morning) is always there ON TIME, with a smile on her face, to greet you. John, is the MAIN REASON the place always looks clean and inviting. He makes the place sparkle! He does such an amazing job and he is soooo friendly. We all call him the morning Mayor but, the truth is he is the HEARTBEAT of the Northwest YMCA. Kim and Julianne are there on the weekends and they are ALWAYS so kind and pleasant! Tom, Tom and Dave are always on the "floor" to help and instruct and they are so kind! You cannot go wrong by joining this special family. If you have a hard time finding it, look for Carol at 5:30 every morning and you will discover it as she is truly the NORTH STAR of the NW YMCA! She is a beacon, she is always there. :)
It is THE BEST!

Have not had the best time at this location. I chose this because it's cleaner than the other facilities, however the Aquatics director Olivia is a nightmare to deal with. She rarely ever responds, holds zero accountability despite her being the director, and is the furthest from professional. Her demeanor is cold, and unwelcoming and comes off bothered to do her job. For months we have been dealing with nothing but chaos. In the beginning we were met with loads of excuses for her behavior etc, and it's just unacceptable to have to deal with.

The staff here are wonderful, and the place is clean and bright. I've been using the therapy pool to rehab from a back injury. The pool is larger than the one at the Fayetteville YMCA and has a built-in submerged bench where you can sit to receive a gentle massage from water jets and bubbles. But, unfortunately the pool water is not as warm as the one in Fayetteville.

The best Y in the region. The staff is friendly, competent, and helpful. The $20 million, 100,000-square-foot facility includes an aquatic center with a family pool, a lap pool, therapy pool; three basketball courts and multiple smaller courts; an indoor track; a turf practice field; a teen/tween center that will double as a gathering place for seniors, an arts/music center; a bicycling studio; a wellness center dedicated to helping cancer survivors recover; and areas for group exercise, weightlifting and cardiovascular exercise. Northwest Baldwinsville Family YMCA is better than the Skaneateles exY that seceded from the national Y program.

I am appalled by inept management and genius creators of the programs that serve a handful and ignore the majority. I remember this place's energy and enthusiasm when it opened. The staff working then was competent and courteous. Now, obedient volunteers parrot the program goals while ignoring the facts and feedback. Almost a year ago I pointed out to the manager of the program that the rules of some activities should have been displayed as members were confused. It consists of two short sentences printed on A4 paper but it took eleven months not to do it. How do you call this?
When one closes off the entire building for three hours ( prime time three times a week) to accommodate a handful that is a failed program and its management.
Such a space could accommodate twice as many programs and people (as it did initially)Β if managed properly. I have witnessed a significant decline in attendance and membership numbers and I think most of us know the reasons. Now, I see complacency, incompetence, and ignorance. How did you manage to ruin the beautiful culture of that place?

This YMCA is one of the nicer ones. Offers a lap, therapy pool, and lazy River. It also has a track to walk or run. Staff is great aside of some of the ladies at the front desk can be rude at times or just ignore you. I wish it offered more classes in the evening and better daycare hours. Also, my husband and I did a pottery class here and I wasnβt impressed unfortunately. I felt it was disorganized, took more time to set up and clean up than it did to actually make something. The instructor wasnβt very helpful. She spent more time making her own pottery than assisting us with ours.

I put my account on hold back in March and they only allow you to have it on hold up to 3 months, and they did not make me aware that you couldn't extend the freeze on your account. So when I called the day before my account is supposed to go back into effect to freeze it again, I was told that I would be forced to resume the membership. I then decided to cancel my membership, however I was told that I have to let them know prior to the 25th of the previous month, and I will now be charged $45 dollars for a month of membership I'm not even going to use. I won't even be charged until the 1st of the month, so it's ridiculous for me to be forced to purchase an extra month of membership, especially when all I wanted to do was put the membership on hold for another three months.

We live in Fayetteville, 5 minutes from the Y there, but frequently drive past the East Area YMCA to visit the Baldwinsville Y. The parking is much better, there are more family changing rooms by the pool and the entire pool area is much better (and better managed) than Fayetteville. The kids love the lazy river and other features of the kid pool. And the warm water pool is huge and almost always open, compared to Fayetteville's, which is smaller and often closed. It's almost like the Y realized everything they did wrong with the Fayetteville location and corrected it when they built the Baldwinsville location. Only things missing from both - neither location's pool has a true "deep end" which means no diving board, no starting blocks or even jumping in off the edge. Having been on a YMCA swim team as a teen in another location where the pools had all of these things, it's frustrating when the lifeguards say you can't even lean forward into the pool from *sitting* on the edge, to begin your lap swimming.
