Took a yoga class this morning with Lital and it was exactly what I needed as someone that is starting her fitness journey again for the 5th time this year. She is very patient and engaging. It truly felt like a safe space to show up for myself and be myself. The space and energy is clean. Definitely will be back!

NY Loved Yoga is a gem of a studio on the Upper West Side. It has a warm, down-to-earth vibe that makes everyone feel welcome. The instructors are knowledgeable and kind. Classes are thoughtful and intentional, with a perfect balance of movement, breath, and stillness. It’s more than just a workout—it’s a space to reconnect, reset, and feel part of a genuine community. Highly recommend!

Can't say enough good things about NY Loves Yoga. We did a 4 hour wellness retreat with yoga, meditation, stretching, delicious food, sound bowls, reiki. MJ and Lucas and the team were a delight to work with. And as someone who has only done a very little bit of yoga, I found the experience to be open and accessible. And we all felt so relaxed and taken care of by the end of the time together.

I have been going to NY Loves Yoga for years and this is the best Yoga studio around. They have built a beautiful neighborhood community. The teachers are incredible and there is a class for every level of practice. The once a month Yoga Nidra and sound bowls is truly something special.

NY Loves Yoga is my favorite yoga studio space in NYC. It is magical. It feels like an oasis in the middle of the bustling city. All the teachers are super high quality and well-trained in various modalities of yoga. There is something offered for everyone. Go! Go! Go!

My favorite yoga studio! Professional, clean and always feel at home. No interruptions from latecomers once class begins so I can focus on my practice. All the teachers are experienced with yogis at all levels. Highly recommend!

For some reason, they are super tense, the opposite of the expected zen environment of a yoga studio. I felt unwelcome, receiving rude and curt responses. Instead of leaving relaxed, I felt more stressed. After reading other reviews here, it's clear the owner fosters a toxic environment. I won't definitely be coming back.

They try to upsell their yoga mat and don’t state it in classpass. There are way better yoga studios in manhattan and dont treat you this way.
Edit: you can see how they treat people by the reply they just gave. They are entitled and super rude. The problem is not about “$2”, the problem is about being transparent and not trying to fool people. Good luck delivering mediocre service with this attitude.

Arrived 5 mins late. Wasn’t allowed in. If they are strict about tardinesss (especially given it was my first time here), they should note that on website. I understand it is a small studio. However, 5 minutes is a reasonable grace period and I traveled to come. Disappointing.

Don’t arrive 7 min late or you’ll be labeled « no show » straight away on classpass. That day the subway wasn’t stopping at the usual closest stations and therefore caused me to be 7 min late. But the receptionist had already tagged me as « no show », causing me to pay $17 on classpass in addition to not being able to attend the class. I understand that there is a policy of no late show up and can’t access the class, but I think that tagging us on the app immediately as « no show » is a bit tough and not very understanding. Unexpected delays can happen, particularly in NYC.

I have taken two classes at this place, about 2 weeks apart. I absolutely loved the first class. I loved the teacher (Hela Kalicharran), the atmosphere and the flow of the yoga class. The second class (with Lauren Harris) left a sour taste in my mouth.
The facility has a no phone in the studio policy, which is fair, but the sign about this isn’t very obvious and this policy was not announced prior to the start of class, so I was completely unaware of it.
I had my phone next to my yoga mat (silenced, not on vibrate but on “do not disturb” which allowed calls on vibrate only from my mother who was watching my infant for me and who was strictly instructed to call me only if there was an emergency). During class the teacher noticed my phone and just proceeded to take it away, stating no phones are allowed and that my phone would be at the front desk. My phone was facing down and not lighting up or ringing. Then she proceeded to walk around the room and take all the phones away, and comment on how “these shouldn’t be here” instead of teaching the class!!! Her behavior was completely disruptive to the class. If the purpose of not allowing phones in the studio is because phones are disruptive, then why behave in such a way? Why not just politely remind everyone in the beginning of class that phones are not allowed, assuming newcomers may not know this policy? Or quietly and respectfully ask each person who had a phone to turn off their phone and not bring it in next time. Something else this teacher did was that she made a comment — “your nipples have to face the front of the room” — when trying to instruct the class on proper body mechanics. Then she made a childish remark, “there I said it. I said the word nipples hahaha”. This class honestly made me feel like I was in high school all over again. It was really off putting.
I’m 35 years old with a full time job and an infant at home. I don’t need to be treated like a teenager the one night I get to be away from my kid and have some adult/me time, just because I kept my phone on me in case there was an emergency with my child. The teacher’s behavior was really unprofessional and patronizing. I might give this place one last shot, only because my first experience here was a pleasant one, however, I will definitely not be attending Lauren Harris’ class again.
I highly recommend the studio instruct their staff on respecting their clients’ personal property and inform clients of the no phone policy at check in or prior to class start. I also recommend training on appropriate language/reading the room and training on gearing the class to your audience (i.e., adults, not teenagers).

This is my yoga home in NYC. It is peaceful, safe, and all body types are welcomed. The quality of instruction is superb. I highly recommend private lessons as a place to start. After two major accidents this practice as complimented and accelerated my PT and healing. 🙏

Best yoga studio in NY. The team were so welcoming and friendly, the class was traditional yoga with great options for different levels. The teacher created such a open place to try all the moves. Will definately be back.

I used to really love this yoga studio until I accidentally left my yoga mat there. Unfortunately, I was dealing with an emergency and I wasn’t able to pick it up right away. I received a voicemail saying the mat would be put outside for giveaway if I didn’t pick it up within a week. Given my circumstance it would’ve been nice to have been offered more understanding. I’m sure there was room to tuck it away somewhere in the meantime rather than inconvenience me by giving my property away. This was surprising and off putting so I will not be returning.

Much aloha from Hawai'i! NY loves yoga is a home away from home, a very personal and sweet space. My compliments to all the yoga instructors here, they are very knowledgeable and passionate about teaching yoga. I especially recommend Von's restorative yoga and sound healing on Saturday's, and MJ's somatics class! Thank you yogis, until we meet again🙏💖

I almost hate to write a review here - because I love this place so much and don't want it to become too popular! I have practiced for several years, and checked out many other studios in the City. I also travel so will drop in on classes in other areas when I'm away. NYLY is just very special. The instructors are mindful and attentive. Classes are taught in a welcoming studio. Regardless of your area of practice you're bound to have a good experience. One caveat - the classes are, for the most part, "challenging". If you are a beginner, you might consider taking a private class to get the most out of your experience before jumping into the group setting. Wonderful place. Wonderful instructors!

Today my experience was mind blowing at NY Loves Yoga. I had the pleasure in participating in Yoga instructor Vanush Hambardzumyan's special class, 'Vibes of Love'. The class was accompanied by musician Adam Maalouf. Hearing Adam's unique instruments was the icing on the cake as we moved through our poses. The studio is beautiful with an open garden to view. Thank you Vanush, Adam and NY Loves Yoga.💕

I've been doing yoga for 11 years between NY and LA and this is by far one of my favorite studios I've been to. The space would be lovely even without its outdoor front and back porches, and the teachers appear super knowledgeable with an apparently very refined teaching style.
