As a mom of a daughter with Tourette Syndrome, I can’t say enough about the impact Parkinson’s Boxing in Tonawanda has had on her life. Training with Dean every Saturday has reduced her tics, boosted her confidence, and helped her feel stronger and calmer. The coaches are incredibly supportive and treat everyone like family. What started as a hopeful experiment has become one of the best decisions we’ve ever made — this place has truly changed her life!

Since joining Parkinson’s Boxing at the Hamburg location, I have had the privilege of working with a majority of the trainers. They are all very professional, treat you with respect and truly care about your progress. Don’t let the name be deceiving. It’s not like you get in the ring and box against another participant. If you are skeptical, give it a try it truly can’t hurt. You also get the chance to meet and talk to other individuals who have the same disease as you. I only wish they had a location in Florida so I could attend sessions there over the winter while being a “snowbird”.

I've been here approx 1 year. When I first went, I needed a cane, had little control over my movements, and could not walk down the stairs but had to take the moving seat. Now I can walk without my cane, can control my walking and stability, and can go up and down stairs. This program is fantastic.

I've been going to the Hamburg faculty since it opened. I sincerely believe the workouts are slowing the progression. Any of the faculty that work with you are truly concerned about your well being. Highly recommended.

I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in July 2023. Both the neurologist and physical therapist recommended boxing as an exercise that would ward off the progression of Parkinson’s disease. Since that time I have been to three facilities that offer a boxing program for PD. Two were in Florida and were group classes. Exercises that were offered were “one size fits most” which we all know is never true. What separates Parkinson’s boxing from the other two programs I attended was the individual attention. I work one on one with a coach at Parkinson’s boxing. The program is tailored to me and my abilities. All of the coaches are friendly and dedicated to helping me fight this disease. I highly recommend.

For anyone diagnosed with PD, this is well worth the time and cost. Don’t be fooled by the name, it’s much more than boxing. You have your own trainer and they work with you on balance, strength, coordination, cardio, just to name a few areas. The orchard park location is great - a solid group of trainers led by Tyler are awesome. I work with Jay and he is super attentive and an hour feels like 15 minutes. Go in and check it out - best part is everyone there is in a similar position so you don’t need to be self conscious of your symptoms.

The Hamburg Gym and the employees there helped me understand more about Parkinson's, and let me know that although it can't be cured, it can be slowed. They are always there with support and concern for their clients well being, building up their confidence and giving them a positive and fun atmosphere to workout in.

Parkinson’s Boxing has been life changing for me. I was diagnosed almost 6 years ago and started at Parkinson’s Boxing in March of 2022. My trainer Zach Bauer is amazing and in my opinion the absolute best trainer. I am not only stronger, my balance is improved and I can now jump rope and run. When I leave after a workout I feel physically and mentally uplifted. Every trainer I’ve come in contact with is supportive, upbeat and great to be around. If possible I’d give Parkinson’s Boxing 10 stars

I can't stress enough the benefits of this program. i was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2022 and I have been going to the Hamburg facility for over a year. Like others, I arrived dependent on a cane to get around and almost no stamina to walk more than a dozen feet before I had to rest. With the guidance of my instructors (Zach/Jake/Ben) I have regained mobility (no cane), increased my stamina to walk two miles, and significantly improved my balance. Sessions are 1 on 1, and tailored to the specific needs of the client - including adjusting for "off hours" which is a real challenge with this disease. PD is a huge mental and physical challenge every day; the knowledgeable and positive instructors offer a lifeline of hope. Thank God we have this awesome resource in WNY.

We are so Blessed to have found Parkinson’s Boxing.
After suffering, a massive stroke in July 2022, my husband was left with left side paralysis, unable to walk, Stand, transfer from bed or wheelchair without a mechanical Sit To Stand.
In April 2023, my husband arrived at Parkinson’s Boxing in a Wheelchair Van.
Seven months later my husband is able to transfer without equipment, and with aid is able to take steps.
It is a true miracle.
The “Trainers” at Parkinson’s Boxing take a vested interest in their Patients Recovery. We are so grateful.

I’ve been a member of PB for five years and started training days after I was diagnosed with PD.
I am stronger and have maintained my abilities thanks to my superior trainer Wendy and staff. The owner Dean is devoted, caring, empathetic and knowledgeable to this cause to give those in need their lives back. The staff has become my second family. I am grateful and blessed to be apart of this organization.
