I went from casually running 2 miles twice a week—with a 5K being my longest race—to completing the NYC Marathon in just seven months. In March 2025, I committed to running the marathon while fundraising for Red Door Community, a nonprofit cancer support organization. Knowing I needed expert guidance, I reached out to Sara Dimmick of Physical Equilibrium and signed up for her online coaching program, with a few in-person sessions at her clean, bright, and welcoming gym.
Sara crafted a personalized training plan that went far beyond running—it included cross-training, core work, and strength training, all tailored to my needs and schedule. Her approach was balanced, effective, and encouraging. I could feel myself getting stronger week by week, and the progress was evident.
Crossing the finish line of the NYC Marathon was one of the most incredible accomplishments of my life, and I truly credit Sara’s coaching and support for helping me get there.

Went to this place because my girlfriend wanted to try it out. We met A gentleman named Jonathan, at first things were going alright for the first few sessions then our 4th one John was being very rude and disrespectful to my girlfriend, I thought he was just having a bad day which is okay so I wasn't too bothered by it. HOWEVER, the next session he was even more disrespectful than the first day. John seems to have a big ego and only cares about himself and not the customer. Never will I ever come here again with my girlfriend and I will be sure to let everyone I know that goes here to STAY AWAY FROM JOHN!!!

I’ve been working with Kendra Madigan since the summer and can’t recommend her enough! I came to her looking to get back in shape. She assessed my goals and where my body was and put me on a plan that has me feeling stronger and more aware of my body and how to train it. Each workout is different with a combination of weights and treadmill to focus on a range of muscles. I consistently learn new exercises and am able to apply them on my own in between sessions.
Kendra is also incredibly nice and encouraging which makes our sessions a highlight of my mornings!

I have been seeing Eve at Physical Equilibrium for a few years now and have never felt better. The workouts she puts together are challenging but fun, and she varies them every few weeks. I’ve been working with Sara for 2 years now. When we first started working together, I was starting basically from scratch, returning from injury. Since I’ve been training with Sara, I’ve finished multiple half marathons, Philadelphia’s Broad Street Run, and my first full marathon this past January! Most recently, I ran a personal best by over 15 minutes in the half marathon, all due to her guidance! As a masters runner, I’ve been able to keep achieving goal after goal without injury with Sara’s plans. Her training plans are well rounded, including plenty of cross training and strength training. I've been working with Sara for the last few months and she has been great! I just completed the Ironman Maryland and was able to surpass my goal, qualifying for the world championships. Sara was instrumental in helping me get there. She took the time to understand my goals, create a custom plan tailored to me and was there to adjust or talk if anything changed. I had a Pilates session with Valeria Cruz-Colon and it was excellent. Her attention to my breathing and posture helped me stay safe (I've had hip replacements and shoulder surgery) and enhanced my movements for maximum muscle flexibility and core strength. I’ve been coming to Lift Club at Physical Equilibrium for about a year now. The trainers are super knowledgeable, and I always learn something new at every session. As a 30 something year old woman, getting into weight lifting and finding the right gym can be intimidating, but this place is anything but. Everyone is welcoming, and the space is very clean with top of the line equipment. It’s never too crowded. Lift club is small group personal training, but you still get a lot of one on one attention. They also do personal training. The trainers really care. Sara and Zach are excellent, but you really can’t go wrong with anyone here. I’m so much stronger and healthier than before I started coming here.

Physical Equilibrium is my go to for a great workout! Lift Club is the perfect environment for small group training. Sara, Zach and all of the instructor focus on form while pushing me to get the most I can out of the work out. The work outs are customized depending on my weaknesses, what areas I would like to focus on and taking my current ailments into account. After about a year of training, I feel stronger than I ever have. Can not say enough about how great the team at PE is!

Have worked with Sara at PhysEq for a few years now and she has helped me achieve many different goals: Boston Qualifier, the Boston Marathon, my first two 70.3 Ironman, my first 140.6 Ironman and the New York City Marathon. I have had a great experience taking Pilates at PE with Amelia Bonvento. She is an excellent teacher with obvious understanding of Pilates and how it can be used as a tool to improve both flexibility and strength. Amelia thoughtfully plans each session so that the exercises build on the last session but are always innovative and never repetitive. Each week I feel like I am making progress in my routine and also challenging myself while enjoying the workout which is an ideal combination!
In addition, the PE facilities are friendly, well run, and extremely clean which is very appreciated.

I've been strength training with Sara Dimmick, co-owner of Physical Equilibrium, for more than five years and it is a wonderful facility with fantastic instructors and equipment. I love it's small size ... definitely not a gym factory! Sara has over twenty years of experience and trains all types of athletes, in particular triathletes and marathoners. I'm an endurance cyclist and given my long hours on the bike, strength training is key to having a strong core for stability and of course lower and upper body strength to tackle the miles and the climbs. Sara also works extensively with clients with injury rehabilitation. The gym has a wonderful sunlit Pilates and yoga studio as well and private rooms for massage. I highly recommend Physical Equilibrium for its personalized service and extremely talented trainers!

I love PE! Zach creates workouts that challenge me but are still manageable. He pushes me to try my hardest while emphasizing safety and injury prevention (so important for runners!). I have better upper body and core strength now. And I’ve been intimidated by Pilates in the past, but Amelia makes it accessible and fun! My posture has improved. I always leave PE feeling energized and excited and just the right amount of muscle soreness.

I have joined the meditation class with Daniela Mattos-Turcinov few times and was AMAZING. I took a Pilates mat class with Jesse, and it was one of the best workouts I've been to in a while. Not too rushed, but not too slow — an intense workout that still doesn't leave you feeling burnt out. The facility is also really well kept and pleasant. Would highly recommend to anyone.

I hate working out. I took a 7:30am Pilates class here with Cherry the instructor and it kicked my ass and made me feel so great the rest of the day. I haven't gone back yet but I check out the schedule all the time. The staff was all so nice. I saw a few people working out with personal trainers - seems like a really safe and nurturing place. I didn't feel uncomfortable or judged like I do when I go to some other "fancy" gyms like this one. Seems like a group of people who care about their bodies, and who have fun. Oh oh also SUPER nice changing and shower facilities! Free yoga mats (don't have to rent). Also the studio was small and they said they don't ever let the classes feel crowded so I liked that too. I will definitely go back.

When I realized I had taken over 180 classpass classes, was training with a trainer, and running on my own time seeing little results, sustained an injury, on top of a childhood injury that resulted in tendonitis still pursiing daily bootcamp classes in which did not have teachers who were aware of proper injury modifications, I knew it was time for a change! I was determined to find something that was better suited for me and my fitness routine! I searched diligently for a gym or trainer looking for something so specific you would think it didn't exist. I hoped to find a trainer that was educated in post-rehab, experienced in running and run coaching, personal treatment plans for weight training and just an all around support without all of the glam. Just REAL strengthening, real changes, real knowledge and real people! Sara and Sarah have created something truly amazing! I am pleased to have crossed paths with them and Physical Equilibrium. I genuinely believe they have changed my life, considering I can not only walk with out pain but I can RUN and just ran my first HALF with the support and motivation of Sara! In addition, the space is AWESOME! Clean, new and welcoming. They offer supportive and safe classes including yoga, pilates and bootcamp classes! :)

Sara Dimmick and team at Physical Equilibrium are AMAZING! I ran my first marathon this past November in NYC. I had a very aggressive time goal and I am in my 40s - I wanted to accomplish my goal without getting injured. I was referred to Sara at Physical Equilibrium by another one of their clients. She became my marathon coach through the entire process.
I worked with Sara over the many months of my training. I had an online schedule tailored just for me which included running plans, weights, cross training exercises. I met Sara in person monthly (at my choice) for adjustments in weights (form adjustment, etc). She was available through comments on Training Peaks (our training plan software) as well as via text, email and phone.
Mid-training I developed Planters Fasciitis. (Total bummer!) Sara immediately referred me to a medical specialist for review/insert and a PT group for ongoing assistance. I also had digestive issues at the start, where I was able to utilize Sarah Currie, another trainer at Physical Equilibrium, for nutrition advice.
After months or work and training, I was able to not only accomplish my time goal (a sub-4 hour marathon!) but to also achieved this goal without injury. It was amazing!!
Sara, Sarah and their resources are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They work with all types of athletes - from the extremely competitive to the novice - with professionalism and care.
I could not be more happy with my performance on the marathon, but I know I could not have achieved my goal without Sara and Physical Equilibrium. I highly recommend!
