MinJi ์ ์๋ is an incredible Pilates instructor. Not only did she help alleviate my chronic hip pain, she also worked wonders in enhancing my overall mobility and range of movement. Moreover, I managed to shed several pounds and my body no longer jiggles (as much) in just a few months.

I didn't want to write anything here because I guess it's not related to the business specifically, but I met the owner of this business a few weeks back. She was extremely rude. I was so shocked that a business owner of a well-liked business could act that inappropriate. I urge anyone that is thinking about joining this establishment to take into account the way the owner treats people outside her business. I'll take pirates elsewhere. Be nicer! Its an easy thing.

Min ji is an exceptional Pilates instructor! I've been taking private lessons with her and love it. โค๏ธ She's patient and gives very clear instructions. I appreciate her ability to pinpoint my pain points for that week and weak muscles immediately (literally every time I walk in for class...whether it's my hip, back or toe...yes toe!!)
She has expertly guided me to build strength, and I feel noticeably stronger and healthier. The studio is also impeccably clean. I highly recommend Pilates 101 if you're a beginner and are too nervous to look silly in a group pilates class. Or if you're experienced at pilates and want to level up. ๐ช

I rarely write reviews, especially negative ones, but the way Iโve been treated by Minjiโthe owner and instructorโhas left such a deep emotional scar that I feel compelled to share my experience. I was a loyal and consistent client, attending 2โ3 classes a week over an extended period. This wasnโt a one-off relationship; I invested my time, trust, and money into this business. But when life took a tragic turn, I was met with nothing but coldness and unprofessionalism.
My dog, who meant the world to me, was diagnosed with cancer. I had to cancel a few classes to care for him during his final days. Minji knew this. Yet, when I canceled a class 22 hours in advanceโjust two hours shy of the 24-hour policyโshe insisted on charging me. I didnโt argue; I understood that technically, she was within her rights. But what shocked me, and what ultimately broke my trust, was her complete lack of empathy. There was no kindness, no understandingโjust rigid rules and indifference.
After my dog passed, I decided I could no longer continue doing business with someone so heartless. I had a few classes left in a package and had also left a deposit for a future one. When I requested my deposit back, she told me it was "gone" and, to my disbelief, claimed Iย owedย her $50. Without my consent, she had applied the deposit toward a package I never agreed to start. I explained this to her, only to be dismissed and gaslighted. The deposit was clearly communicated, yet she twisted the narrative and refused to take any accountability.
The worst part was her attitude throughout this ordeal. She became hostile, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. Sheโs an older woman, yet her behavior was shockingly immatureโyelling at me, ignoring me when I greeted her, and showing visible disdain during classes. Despite everything, I tried to remain professional, showing up to finish the classes I paid for, even though it was emotionally painful.
Her instruction also changed. She no longer paid attention to my form, and when I asked for feedback, she barely looked and brushed me off. The final straw came when I gently brought up how I felt, and sheย yelledย at me, saying, โDID YOU TELL ME YOUR DOG DIED AT FIRST?โ As if I was supposed to announce my grief in a formal memo. She knew my dog was sickโI had told herโbut apparently, compassion doesnโt come easily to her.
To make things worse, she decided toย pauseย my remaining classes because she was going to Korea for a month. No refund, no closure, just another dismissive action without care. At this point, I was simply done. All of this over a few hundred dollarsโa small amount in the grand scheme of life, but one that revealed so much about who she is.
Minji may be skilled in her craft, but that means little when her heart is so small. In all my years as a client, I have never felt so disrespected, gaslighted, and hurt. This experience has left me not only disappointed, but also genuinely saddened. No one deserves to be treated this way, especially not during a time of grief.

I am so grateful to have found Pilates 101 and I can not recommend it enough! Minji is the absolute sweetest and she is everything you could ever want in an instructor. She is so attentive, patient, and dedicated and always makes sure you are using the correct form. She can tell you what areas of your body need alignment and my posture is improving so much. Minji wants you to get the most out of each session and I always come out of each session excited to come back for more. So young is just as amazing as well. Sessions at Pilates 101 are so fun, challenging, and informative. After coming here for a few months, I have not only seen positive changes in my physical health but also in my mental health. You can not go wrong with Pilates 101 as it is such a rare gem and the only regret I have is not starting sooner! Thank you Minji and So young for always teaching me and guiding me โบ๏ธ

Amazing studio and instructor. Itโs been about 8 months since I have been with Minji teacher. I have been to many pilates studios ranging from group instruction to one-on-one, but Minji is the best instructor I have ever had. Since July i have lost 40 pounds, gotten stronger and have reduced neck and back pain. People around me notice not only the weight loss but also the improvements in my posture and the way I carry myself. She truly showed me the joy of working out and pilates. Love this place! Since starting pilates with Minji teacher, Iโve noticed results in my strength, posture, and physique. I used to have lower back pain due to a slipped disc and scoliosis, and Minji teacher always tookโstill takesโthese into consideration. Both have improved so much and Iโm learning a lot about my body!
Private sessions only here, but thatโs how sheโs so thorough and gives you the best experience. Super worth it IMO and canโt wait to keep continuing my classes!

I started private sessions during my first trimester of pregnancy due to back & hip pain and oncoming sciatica pain. After the 3 trial sessions , I could feel significant improvement so I continued to work with Instructor Hwang all throughout my pregnancy. Each week she would ask me any areas of discomfort and would tailor each session according to my needs. Each week I could feel my body strengthening and easily adapting to my bodyโs growing needs for the baby! I am excited to continue to work with Instructor Hwang post partum and beyond. She is extremely knowledgeable, thoroughly explains each flow, patient, encouraging, and so helpful! 1000% recommend!

Iโve done pilates before but didnโt have the best experience so I was really hesitant to start again but I am so glad that I did. I am having the most incredible experience here at Pilates 101. Itโs been a year since I started and I can see how much my body has changed. The instructor, Minji, is amazing! She guides you through all the exercises and explains each exercise with detail. She does an incredible job in challenging your body to do more than you think. Sheโll tell you everything about your body that you didnโt know and how you should take care of it. Because of instructor Minji, I know how I should workout at the gym and how to focus on my body.
If you are looking for a good workout and want to start pilates, I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Pilates 101 and Instructor Minji! She is truly the best!๐

Introduced by my friend and started learning from Instructor Minji. She is very passionate and does not want you to waste one minute out of 60min class.
I came here for my pelvic pain because my pelvic joint wasnโt good cuz of my posture and after month or two, pain decreased significantly.
She is very detailed oriented and does not let us slack during our workout. I always sweat crazy when I leave the building. Also she listens to what the client wants (ex. Glutes, weight loss, core strength gain) and focuses on the areas you want. Also very clean environment with all the Pilates machines you can ever think of.
Every class makes you focused solely on your body and your mind. Highly recommend this place โป

I was new to Pilates, but Iโve always had an interest in learning about it. When I found Pilates 101 and met Minji, I just knew this was going to work for me. Sheโs an exceptional person and a skilled instructor. Minji is incredibly knowledgeable about the body and pays close attention to my needs, helping me complete each movement. I must admit, Iโm pretty uncoordinated, so itโs not always easy for me! But her patience is amazing.
Iโve also been attending classes with So-Young, and she is just as patient and skilled. She explains each movement clearly, and if I happen to do it backward (which happens often with me!), she gently guides me into the proper position. Iโm using muscles I didnโt even know I had and always feel great after class. This is truly a fantastic Pilates studio, with caring and skilled instructors! I'm so glad I found it!

I found this amazing place through a friend's recommendation and I've been attending private lessons here for over than a year now.
The instructor(MinJi ์ ์๋)is more knowledgeable and caring my body's balance/feet, shoulder and back than others I have worked out with!
If you want healthier life and build inner strength, then this is the greatest place to go.
I Highly recommend this place for pilates, She will explain nicely, help you to understand well each step, I promise you wont regret having MinJi.

I came to the studio with no knowledge of Pilates and a goal to fix my recurring shoulder pain. I feel fortunate and grateful to find instructor Minji who is determined to work with me toward my goal. She is very knowledgeable, confident, caring, and patient. She devotes maximum class time and attention to teach. I love how she sees my moves, points out problems, then carefully corrects my positions, so I could do these moves properly on my own in next repetitions. This is extremely encouraging because I learn so much. More importantly I find myself using what I learn from her in my daily life: walking with better posture, stretching with better flexibility, and utilizing small muscle groups that I never know they had existed in my body. Improved alignment helped me tremendously in doing other exercises as well. I look forward to taking every class with Minji.

I've done pilates before but always in a group setting. This is my first experience doing 1 on 1 sessions and I'm not sure I can ever do group again. The support, guidance and tailored sessions I receive from Minji have been really helpful. I still have a long way to go in my strength and recovery training but having Minji to help me in my journey has been immensely great and I look forward to getting stronger as I continue my lessons with her!

I am more than grateful to have inquired with the instructor, Minji, about weekly classes. I live in the neighborhood and I have been exercising/weight lifting for years and was looking for something that will allow me to keep my body active in a different way. I inquired with Minji via text, as she is very respectful towards her clients time and does not take walk in clients. This is more then reasonable as she teaches single, duo, and trio classes and it would be unfair to her clients time if she took walk in clients. This is not an issue as she is always attending her clients via messages. At my first class, Minji was able to point out my weak sports immediately and now I just completed my 5th class with Minji and she has 100% already made improvement with my body stance and posture. She is very detailed and focuses on exercises that my body would benefit from. She is always attentive to my stance and will always guide me if my posture or positioning is off. Minji always makes sure that I am gaining the full benefit from my movements. She has taught me how to engage my lower core that I always found difficult, she has taught me how to engage my inner thighs, she has helped me with my right shoulder that was not extending as well as my left shoulder, and much more. I am so excited to continue seeing Minji and I recommend everyone to give this wonderful, polite, and caring instructor a visit!

I recently moved to this neighborhood and wanted to find a Pilates studio nearby where my two sisters and I could join together, as we loved our old studio. While passing by this place, I decided to inquire about membership. I walked over to the counter at the back, but the woman there abruptly yelled at me to remove my shoes, which was okay, but her lack of professionalism surprised me. Instead of offering assistance, she seemed disinterested and continued to shout instructions from behind the counter to text a number outside. I texted as instructed but received no response. It felt like the service was geared towards Koreans, possibly based on reviews suggesting better treatment for them. With such poor attitude and customer service, I'd rather spend my money where it's appreciated than with someone who seems entitled and snobbish in their business practices. I wouldn't recommend wasting your time here if you're not Korean.

I have been to many different pilates class and I can truly say that Pilates 101 is THE BEST pilates class. Many of the places I went did not correct my movement and sometime I felt lost. But Instructor Minji will guide you and will caters each session to your needs. She will carefully observe your movements and will correct you as needed. She will ask you if you felt any pain during the movements and week after. I have been dealing with posture problem and shoulder pain and I can see that my posture and shoulder pain getting better and better. I highly recommend attending Pilates 101!

I am having the best experience here at Pilates 101 with Minji instructor. No other words to express how wonderful she is in guiding, teaching, and correcting my posture and finding the right muscles that are being used in the body. Many say that finding a skilled instructor is crucial for Pilates, as it's an exercise that focuses on posture and body control. Being quite sensitive myself, I'm very satisfied with Instructor Minji after diligently attending her classes for over half a year now.
I started Pilates to improve my poor stamina, which stemmed from a combination of improper weight loss methods (restricting food intake) in my childhood and a lack of long-term exercise. During my initial sessions, I would be exhausted halfway through the class, unable to focus on the instructor's instructions. However, after a few months, my stamina improved to the point where I could easily concentrate throughout the hour-long workout.
Moreover, Instructor Minji has a keen eye for understanding each individual's body and accurately identifies areas that need improvement. In my case, I lacked overall muscle strength and stamina, but now I can feel my thighs, stomach, and arms gradually becoming firmer. Additionally, by correcting my habit of tensing my shoulders, my neckline has become more defined, and I'm currently working on improving my leg shape.
Exercise can only be sustained if you enjoy it. As I feel my body improving and my level increasing, I feel a sense of accomplishment that makes it even more enjoyable. I'm looking forward to seeing the even better me that will emerge through my continued practice here.

After years of working with bad posture, I decided to try learning pilates under the guidance of a certified instructor. I started off holding a lot of pressure in my neck and shoulders causing chronic neck pain and migraines. During exercises I would subconsciously hike up my shoulders which started to come down with more awareness throughout each session. Pilates has helped me develop a deeper understanding to engaging core muscles so other muscles arenโt compensating for it as well as really elongating and stretching out the muscle to build a lean definition. I can proudly say that family and friends have noticed a difference in my posture and my physique is no longer like that of a snowman โ๏ธ

Very knowledgable instructor who can accomodate your needs. She addresses your needs. My back and shoulders are in a much better shape since working with her. I travel 1.5 hours just to train with her and is worth every minute. I have tried out other instructors in Manhattan but have settled with her. You can definitely feel that she cares about you. Highly recommend!

I have been to numerous group pilates classes in the past but never felt like they benefited me. I would often feel sore and uncomfortable, if anything I felt worse after a session than I did before. After countless group sessions I decided to treat myself to private sessions hoping they would be different and I'm really glad I found Pilates 101. I've been receiving private sessions with Minji for the past 3 months and unlike my previous experiences, I walk out of each session pain free. Minji caters each session to your needs by asking if you felt any pain the previous week and observing your movements. Each session is a new challenge both physically and mentally as she encourages you to stretch your body and use muscles you probably never used before. Though some exercises are difficult to follow at first, Minji not only understands your physical limitations but gradually trains your body to be capable of such movements. Not only have I seen changes to my body but my friends have complimented my changing physique as well. I cannot express how grateful I am for finding Pilates 101 as I was doubtful of pilates before meeting Minji - so thank you for strengthening my body, decreasing my body aches, and refreshing my mind every week! Pilates is now something I look forward to every week and something I cannot live without.

Minji instructor is the best instructor I ever encountered. My posture was terrible as I suffered from scoliosis and severe neck & shoulder pain. Minji instructor checks my condition before every session and plans her class accordingly. Her private class focuses on โprecision,โ- and it really helped me correct my posture, and my pain went away. Sheโs lovely and charming. Minji teacher is the one of the best pilates teacher Iโve ever encountered. She definitely knows what she is teaching, has full background knowledge to all the movements. She explains thoroughly before each position to help you understand which part of the body is being used. Must emphasize that I have been with her since being 20weeks pregnant, and throughout my pregnancy I was able to walk, hike and have zero pain throughout the entire pregnancy. Such an amazing teacher- not many can accommodate a pregnant student! And now postpartum, she is helping me rebuild my inner strength. Highly recommend her!

Min Ji Is a great pilates instructor. She is very precise when giving instructions and also very patient. She gives clear directions that make it easy for you to follow, and notices whenever there are any changes in your body.
And I love the way she sanitizes all the equipment after each use. Very lucky to find her!

Overall I feel better after starting Pilates at Pilates101 with my wife. I initially joined to find a way to get my wife healthier and reduce her stress. It had become a problem. I did not do this for me but I am happy that I put myself in these very challenging 2 on 1 classes with our Instructor Ms.Min Ji as I also feel and see the difference in myself. In the beginning of the very 1st class I was immediately face to face with how much I had neglected myself physically and the delusion that I was Ok and I didn't need this as much as my wife.This is what I love about these classes. There is nowhere to hide and nowhere to run. You know why? The instructor locks the door till the end of the class. Lols!

I'm excited to share my experience at Pilates 101. Min Ji is very clear in explaining what muscles I need to use/ focus on so that I can improve myself. I've struggled with lower back pain for several years, but with Min Jiโs help, my pain has subsided. She's also taught me to utilize muscles I never knew I had, allowing me to relieve pain/stiffness in my shoulders. I am always learning something new and I look forward to coming to each class knowing that I walk away feeling better. I also appreciate that the equipment is always sanitized after each class. My time at Pilates 101 has been a pleasure and filled with nothing but positive thoughts.
Iโve previously been to other pilates instructors, but none have been as professional, kind, and knowledgeable as MinJi ์ ์๋.
I started with unevenness in my back, ribs, and shoulders. Even with simple yet challenging exercises and stretches, I notice such drastic improvement and experience great confidence with my body.
MinJi ์ ์๋ attentively adjusts the exercises to your body and personal limits, while meticulously explaining the use of each muscle group that allows for independent exercise in the future. There are an abundance of equipment fit for all levels and difficulties. Additionally, every machine is sanitized and kept pristine.
Aside from the fitness aspect, MinJi ์ ์๋ is the sweetest and most welcoming person to converse with. Especially if youโre starting as a beginner, she makes you feel comfortable and motivated to strengthen your body for better posture and health.
If you choose to stick with Pilates 101, youโre in good hands. Pilates has been more than just an exercise for me, as it has encouraged a healthy lifestyle with a corrected body. Thank you MinJi ์ ์๋! ๐

I had about 40 lessons here with instructor Minji. I was never a workout person until I found this place. She explains so well for you to understand easily and does not take off an eye at you to see if youre doing the workouts correctly. My big concern was my fat stomach and shoulders. She helped me to achieve those two. My fat stomach turned into beautiful abs and my ugly shoulders are getting prettier day by day. Not only that, my whole body shape has changed and started gaining muscles everywhere. Words cant express how thankful I am to her. She is very professional and its worth your money and time. Highly recommend this place to everyone and you wont regret at all!

I usually never write these reviews but I need to for this place ๐ซถ๐ป. The reason why I started pilates was because my job requires sitting all day and therefore my posture was terrible. Bad posture causing neck pain and back pain. But after starting pilates with Minji all of this went away. I have done both duet sessions and solo sessions. But I recommend taking her solo sessions first if you are taking pilates for the first time. She really goes in depth on how to breathe as well finding all right muscles to be used for each exercise. Let me tell you she is very detailed.

I only have good things to say about my experience at Pilates 101 and about the instructor, Minji. Iโve had over 40 private lessons at Pilates 101 so far and Iโm so happy I no longer have to deal with shoulder and upper back pain. Itโs still a work in progress, but my posture and diastasis recti have improved significantly too! Instructor Minji is very knowledgeable and passionate about what she does. She pushes me just enough so that I leave the studio feeling like Iโve had a workout but also feeling glad I pushed through. She is always full of energy and very welcoming that I actually enjoy going to pilates. The studio is clean and thoroughly sanitized after each session. Parking is very convenient too! Iโm very grateful to have met Instructor Minji through Pilates 101!

I think I had about 30 sessions with pilates 101 so far. It is definitely worth the money and time, she will push you just enough. I tried so many different work out classes in my life, I think this place is best by far, because I was never able to commit to exercise this long. It's like a love and hate relationship because it's so ๋นก์์ but I guess it's more of love, i can't deny the fact that my body shape has changed so much in a good way. I would say give it a go for sure, but she's always fully booked, I'm not sure if she can ever take new students though..

Let me just start off by saying that I had a herniated disc that needed emergency surgery and pilates 101 was the one that truly helped me get back on my feet. I have been going here for over a year now and I can confidently say that my figure has improved so much, both inside and outside. I always had a back problem but ever since coming here, my back and core muscles have developed so much that I am now pain free. The instructor is very knowledgeable so she designs the workouts that fit your body type and will focus on the weaker parts so that you have a good balance in your overall figure. I have always had a back problem and was afraid to try it out at first but after the first session, I knew I was in good hands. The instructor is so sweet, friendly, and detail oriented, not like one of those aggressive personal trainers. Her focus is not only helping you to achieve your body goals, but developing the mind and body connection on a daily basis! The equipment she uses are also very clean and new, she sanitizes after every client. And on your birthday she gives you a free pilates sock.. sheโs just the best! Just trust me and try it out, you wonโt regret it!

I have been to many different private and duet pilates, and I can confidently say that this is the best pilates instructor I have met in my entire life. I have weak joints and shoulder problems which I thought could never be improved but the instructor was able to improve and fix my posture and I am in love with my body more than ever!
